Zetsume Zix
D-rank
The info you brought us from your last mission was good. Now there is only one last thing to do, burn that place to the ground. You have done well thus far, so we are entrusting this task to you. You may go alone or bring a squad of your choice. The labs must be destroyed, the lives of the criminals inside are irrelevant. Kill any and all of them who get in your way. Hell, kill them if they try to run if that’s what floats your boat. We won’t tell you that you have to be stealthy this time around, just don’t get in over your head and lose focus on what really matters. Lastly, the “doctor” as they are calling him is wanted in 3 different countries for his horrendous acts. Bring him in alive if you can.
Zetsume balled up the piece of paper and threw it away. It seems he has been hired to take down more people that threatened his village. He always took great joy in doing these kinds of missions. The letter was given to him early in the morning, before he had time to shower. The messenger was a small boy who looked like he was doing it for side money. He was far too small to be saving his money for anything important. Grabbing his clothes he went to take a warm shower. The feeling of the hot water pouring onto his body felt exhilarating. There were a few problems with taking showers in Kumogakure. If the bathroom was not humid enough from the hot water, when you get out you probably could freeze. In his house it was usually kept cold, Repede and Zetsume liked it this way. It kept them awake and alert. It did not take him long until he was done with his shower. He knew he could not waste much time, the mission could be too dire. If he was too late to save someone that would weigh heavy on his mind. He shook his head of those thoughts while he grabbed his gear. Zetsume wished he could take Repede along with him, but the dog was still far too weak to be able to be of any use. Repede could hardly take down a bird. Sometimes he would have to watch closely to make sure no giant bird tried to take him away for a quick meal. Zetsume reached down to pet his down and smile. He would make sure to keep this dog safe no matter what. With that, he made his way towards the Kumogakure gate.
It was not long until he was making his way out of the village. The giant gates always made him feel safe when he was a kid. He knew little of the world outside of his protective bubble. It never bothered him, only thing that usually does was the fact that the people that he cared about were dying and he was usually just sitting there eating. He had to stop thinking of those things and focus on the matter at hand. Zetsume tried his luck through the snow, but it was too thick. He would have to travel from the trees to the hideout. Spies from his village pinpointed it’s exact location. It was many many miles away from the village. Zetsume tightened his gear and set off. Each branch that he jumped off of made the snow fall to the ground. If he was being hunted they could easily track him. The snow was like a double edged sword. You could easily track your enemies, and you can track them. Zetsume had no choice but to make the trail. More than likely the people at the hideout were waiting for someone to show up. From the reports they have been there for quite some time. Either that or they moved into an old building. The walk was long and hard. It seems that a blizzard rolled in during his journey. The icy winds cut threw his clothes. He did not dress with enough clothes for how cold it actually was outside. Every now and then he would make a small fire to warm his body back up. He would be dammed if hypothermia got to him before he ever got his chance at the people at the hideout. After he got warmed up he set out to find them, and make them pay for their treason.
It was already late into the day when he arrived. The sun was just about to set and this blizzard seemed to be a long one. It could give him the surprise advantage he needed. He did like to play the solo game as people could sabotage his mission with their unneeded talking. Speaking to people was on his list of what I do not want to do. Being alone helped him think, not worry about others, and focus on the goal ahead. He did not know how many people he would encounter but he had to be prepared for anything and everything. Letting them get the better of him was not about to happen, not in this lifetime at least. He could now see the building that was the hideout before him. There seemed to be seven people patrolling the side he was on. Zetsume waited still in the trees, his vision was beautiful. It did not have the power of the Hyuuga, yet he could still see quite far and quite accurately. From this distance and shroud from the blizzard, they could not even see him. If they could they would try to attack him immediately. His element of surprise was still in action. Taking them out one by one would be the most effective. From a distance and this blizzard they could have no idea so long as he kept it basic. Wasting his chakra would not be in his best interest. Zetsume took the bow off of his back and pulled an arrow back. Now it was a matter of when and where. If it could go right he could take them all out without them noticing. If not, he could have a problem on his hand. Almost thirty meters from him, a man seemed to think it was break time. He waddled over to a nearby tree to relieve himself. His hot urine bounced off the tree leaving a steam trail. Zetsume let go of the arrow as it flew into the man’s throat. The gargling of his blood and an arrow lodged into his throat made it impossible for him to scream. He died within seconds. The closest one to him was ten meters away smoking a cig. Taking him down could prove hard as he was conversing with someone. It would however be only a matter of time until they noticed that someone was missing. Zetsume moved closer for a better shot. Drawing back another arrow he waited for his time to strike. He could not tell what they were saying but it did not seem like they even wanted to be there. Should he feel bad for killing them? With that thought still lingering in his mind he shot out an arrow that hit one of the men square in his spine. Quickly reacting the other man that he was conversing with drew his blade, but just like his friend he met the same fate as an arrow flew from the shadows and pierced his heart. He could not kill them effectively and as a result they let out a loud yell.
It was not long until three more men came to check it out. They must have not known much about archery or they could have angled the shot back to where he was simply watching them. He had no reason to make himself known yet, and while this blizzard persisted then he should be fine. Picking them off one by one seemed to be working out just fine. He drew back another arrow and let it fly, it made it’s make square into the chest of one man as he fell into another making them fall. Using his time wisely he drew an arrow to take out the man that was standing. With a loud thud that man too fell into the snow, making the white snow crimson. Jumping into the air to get a downward shot, he let two arrows go into the man that was under a body. He let out a yell because the arrows were lethal, but would take a while to kill him if he didn’t know any kind of medical ninjutsu. Soon his cries for help were muffled by his blood and followed by an eerie silence. No more men came to check out the scene of horror. Counting the bodies on the ground it made a total of six. He did not know how many were in there but six less people to worry about meant the world of difference to him.
