Bokuden

From his position perched atop a tree branch high in the canopy Bokuden looked down over his objective. This cave that he had only just paid a visit to a few days earlier, leaving a trail of missing persons and headless corpses in his wake along with Binsu. The frigid mountain wind howled through the night, gusting through the area and masking any noise that he or Binsu might have made in the chorus of rustling leaves. Bokuden’s coat tail dragged along in the wind as he inspected the duo’s target. There were quite a few more guards out this time around. Apparently they had tightened up security after he and Binsu barged through the front door and began executing their henchman. Who could blame them though? In Bokuden’s experience leaving a trail of corpses composed of a person’s acquaintances was a pretty effective way to send a clear message to them.

Part of Bokuden lamented having to go through the trouble of dealing with heightened security instead of the two helpless lambs that were left out for the slaughter during their last trip, but the rest of him couldn’t help but be amused as a grin formed on his face. Motioning with his hand and pointing his finger at every count, Bokuden began to survey the resistance that they would be meeting whenever they decided to drop down and say hello. And he and Binsu would be just dropping in and making their presence known. The gloves were off this time around. There were no files that needed to be retrieved, no evidence to be recovered, no stealth orders; Bokuden and Binsu only had one objective for this assignment, wipe this hideout and more specifically that God forsaken lab from existence. With the help of the self-destruct sequence  that the kage’s office was so generous as to bestow upon them the task would be simple: Walk in, kill anyone in their way, make their way to the lab, pop in the disc, and get the fuck out of dodge. There would of course be resistance, but if what they had encountered during their last trip here was any indicator of the level of enemy in this cave Bokuden was unconcerned.

Bokuden counted six in total as he inspected the area for any other possible threats. “So they tripled security, huh?” he mused out loud to get the attention of his colleague, “That was a smart move on their part. Unfortunately however, smart doesn’t always work out the way you would like it to. These poor souls are about to learn that lesson first hand.” Bokuden stood up from his kneeling position  and took a single step forward on the large branch. “Well, I guess we have a job to do now don’t we?” Bokuden commented to Binsu, his colleague from the village who had accompanied him on the previous two assignments leading up to this point, “With any luck this whole ordeal will be over with in a short while once we get done leveling this place. I can’t say I won’t be glad to never have to come back to this place again.” Bokuden removed the disc with the self-destruct sequence software coded into it from his coat’s breast pocket and waved it at Binsu jokingly, “Ready for some fireworks?"

((OOC - Sorry i'm late >_< ))

The sky was blank and the wind was calm. The sun was shining brightly across the land of lightning, representing the late time of day it was. The only sound Binsu could hear was that of the two colliding flamberge swords that were sheathed around the Jounin's left hip, as the wind moved through the blades and caused them too to move slightly following the wind's direction. It wasn't the first time Binsu had been on a mission with his new-found friend Bokuden, but t'was the first time he had his Daken blade and Static edge blade with him. Earlier on that week, Binsu had forged the Daken blade out of a rare and unique metal that was found only within the deepest of caves just outside the Kumogakure village walls. The blade itself was a true work of art, representing Binsu's undoubtedly talented skills in blacksmithing perfectly with its complicated design and well-sharpened edge. A lot of creativity was contributed into the making of the blade by Binsu's mutual friends and acquaintances, though none were as good as the end result. The blade itself was a combination of a sword and a whip, forged into one weapon that could do the work of both but better. Binsu had decided to bring the sword with him for a test run whilst completing a mission with Bokuden, though had also brang his new Static Edge blade as well to practice with. After the untimely death of his younger brother Shibirin, the blade was found and recovered by some of the Iwagakuren ANBU, who then brought the sword to the closest person to a relative the missing nin had ever had: Binsu, his own blood brother. The blade itself was one of the only things he had left that connected him with his younger brother Shibirin, that along with the Byakugan Shibirin managed to acquire somehow during his time on earth and the spandex suit he also showed to have on him during the time of his death. Like usual, sheathed on his back was also the Kappatsuna blade and his newly improved Kyoka blade. The only weapon he had left at home was his Genko blade, which nowadays he put up around his house on display. As for his companion Hades, the mythical bear had decided to take the day off doing missions and had convinced its master Binsu to let it stay at home alone.

Looking up from his position on the ground, standing next to the tree his mate Bokuden was hiding in, Binsu could see a number of different men standing guard at the entrance of the cave, all armed with atleast one weapon of some shape or form. “So they tripled security, huh?” Binsu heard Bokuden speak from above. Maintaining his focus on the bodies of his targets still, Binsu replied to his comrade's quirky comment saying, "Heh, looks so." Oddly enough, the Jounin continued to speek, saying out aloud, “That was a smart move on their part. Unfortunately however, smart doesn’t always work out the way you would like it to. These poor souls are about to learn that lesson first hand. Well, I guess we have a job to do now don’t we?” After Bokuden asked the man the rhetorical question of whether or not they now had a job to do, Binsu let out a small snicker before resting his left hand on the two hilts of his swords Daken and Seiteki ejji. The Jounin above then waved a disc of some sort towards Binsu, the latter having only caught a glimpse at this motion after turning around to look at the guy when he said,  “Ready for some fireworks?" At that moment, Binsu showed but a smirk across his mouth, before clicking his Static edge blade open, holding it tightly using the regular forward hand grip in his right hand and vanishing the second after. The Jounin would've then 're-appeared' on the other side of the field, int he exact same location their targets were located at. To the untrained eye, Binsu would've looked as though he teleported himself from his previous position to this new one right in the middle of the small group of men that guarded the entrance to the cave, but what all that happened was Binsu using the speed boost advantage that his blade static edge granted him, combined with his already fast speeds that could've matched a Sannin's without the sword's extra buff. With the buff however, Binsu was able to travel at Kage ranked speeds, which made him look like a blur to those that weren't adjusted to seeing people travel at those types of speeds before.

As if time had stopped and allowed Binsu to move freely whilst his opponents remained immobilized, Binsu was able to quickly draw out his Daken blade before any of the guards could gasp in shock, though when they did their time to react had already dissipated away. Holding his Static edge blade tilted slightly towards the let (Binsu's North West angle) Binsu then fed his Daken blade with a low amount of chakra, before quickly popping the pin that kept the wire holding all the 21 pieces of the blades in tact tight and rapidly extending the blade's total length by 6m. The blade now took on the shape of a long, black whip with multiple sword pieces threaded through one another and each separated by a 1cm gap. He manipulated the blade with relative ease, quickly striking the hearts of each of the 3 guards that had been standing behind him the whole time without even looking at them, before quickly decapitating the heads of the remaining 2 guards that were positioned just a meter in front of them. He then fed his Static edge blade with another small amount of chakra before slicing across the last of the guards' arm as he tried to vertically strike down Binsu's head from above with a sword of his own. Unfortunately, due to the extra abilities Binsu had activated from the Static Edge blade by feeding it a small amount of chakra, the ninja was instantly paralyzed the moment Binsu's sword cut as deep as a centimeter into his arm. After watching the last of the men's bodies drop to the ground in pain, Binsu sheathed both his Static edge blade and his Daken blade after tightening the string of his Daken blade and returning it to its solid sword structure once more. 'Five seconds...' Binsu thought to himself, as he now stood up straight and signaled for his mate Bokuden to follow him into the cave.

A familiar and distinct clicking noise could be heard almost immediately after Bokuden’s words finished leaving his lips. The sound was that of a sword being unleashed from its sheath, a sound that Bokuden or any swordsman worth a damn would have instantly recognized as such. Strangely enough, that sound which was so closely associated with war and death both historically and in his own personal experience also brought Bokuden a distinct measure of piece. Perhaps he had immersed himself in the art of kenjutsu, or rather the art of killing with a sword, and his shinobi life for so long that he had actually grown to feel more comfortable when danger and combat are imminent. It was a strange feeling for someone who, despite the long list of names that had been stricken from the world’s records with red paint at the end of his blade, considered himself largely a pacifist, or at least that is what he preferred to call himself. There was once a time when taking another’s life was a burden, when the weight of another human’s existence weighed heavily on his conscious, but that was a time Bokuden had long since put behind him.  While he may not actively go out and seek confrontation the idea of him considering himself a pacifist would be more than a bit of a stretch. He did not seek out combat, true, but that is not to say he avoided it whenever he had the chance or even that he did not enjoy it. Bokuden’s reasons for standing down from a battle were often far less benevolent than that of say, a monk’s. If Bokuden were to decline a fight it was more likely that he simply saw the opponent as too far below him to be worth his time than that he was attempting to find a peaceful resolution. God forbid he should insult his Suiko-tenno by allowing some amateur to bleed all over her. The sword that Binsu had begun to pull out however, was what really caught Bokuden’s attention. There was a powerful electric current running through the blade, one that from what Bokuden could tell was inherent to the weapon as the raiton chakra was not originating from Binsu’s body. “It looks like he got a new toy,” Bokuden mused in his own mind as his gaze shifted down towards the weapon, “And a powerful one at that, judging by the strength of the electrical signals it is emitting.”

As the sound of the clicking of the released blade echoed in Bokuden’s head Binsu had already taken it upon himself to take off into the clearing before them. Although he was able to follow Binsu’s movements Bokuden was still taken aback by how much faster Binsu had gotten since their spar back on the High Battle Plateau all those years ago. He was fast then, but now he would have just been a blur to Bokuden back in those days. But this wasn’t five years ago and Bokuden’s eyes were sharp enough to follow Binsu’s movement even if they were made so suddenly. From the tree he darted down right behind the thugs guarding the entrance to the hideout. The poor fools didn’t even have time to cry out for help before Binsu’s flurry of blades was tearing them apart. With his unnamed raiton imbued sword and some manner of segmented blade in hand Binsu activated some form of mechanism on the second weapon to loosen the sections and create a bladed whip like form. With the bladed pieces no longer locked in place through some mechanism, which Bokuden could only assume was chakra, the weapon began to snake about and attack the surrounding hostiles without Binsu so much as batting an eyelid. One, two, three, the thugs dropped as the weapon seemed to move on its own and pierce through their bodies and skewer their hearts, killing them as close to instantly as you’re going to get. Once it had dropped those three it swung back around and bolted through the necks of two more men, severing their heads from the rest of them and killing them on the spot. It seemed like the lot was not without at least a bit of courage as the final guard leapt up and attempted to strike Binsu from above while he wasn’t looking. Bokuden considered moving from his position to go and offer Binsu some aid, but he knew it wouldn’t be necessary. Binsu proved him right as he swung his electrified sword behind him, cutting the man and causing him to drop straight to the ground, convulsing as if he had suffered electrocution. The whole confrontation had taken mere seconds before Binsu was already sheathing his weapons and signaling for Bokuden to approach. “Note to self: Stay the hell away from that particular weapon,” Bokuden thought as he slipped the disc back into his coat’s breast pocket and made his way down to ground level. Rather than leap down at maximum speed as Binsu did however, Bokuden jumped down from out of the tree and casually strolled over towards the entrance to the cave. The fun had just started; there was no need to rush. “Have fun?” Bokuden said sarcastically as he stepped over a freshly headless corpse, courtesy of Binsu, “Didn’t even give them a sporting chance. Were you that eager to use your new weapons?”

The young swordsman sheathed his blade at the drop of the last of his opponent's lifeless bodies. Resting his left hand on the hilt of his Daken blade and letting his right hand drop loosely by its side, Binsu directed his gaze towards the casually approaching Bokuden, with a look of satisfaction worn over his face. Truth be told that Binsu's speed had increased since the last time the two Jounin clashed in battle with one another, but sadly Bokuden had only seen what the man's speed was before his true speed boost. Only a few seconds ago, Binsu had attacked and murdered his targets at Kage level speeds, but the Jounin knew he could do better. He had the capability at travelling at speeds far faster than that even of a Kage leveled shinobi, but matched against low level foes such as the few he had just killed, didn't see the need to. “Have fun?” Bokuden asked the guy the moment he had caught up. Rather than answering the rhetorical question with a straight forward 'yes', Binsu merely smirked his grin to show his intended answer, before turning around and slowly making his way towards the inside of the cave. Along the way, Bokuden spoke up from behind the guy, saying, “Didn’t even give them a sporting chance. Were you that eager to use your new weapons?” Without hesitating, Binsu answered the question with the answer that straight away jumped at him as he took in the question. "So you noticed my new blades," he began, "...what's a sword without a use?" The two casually made their way into the cave and navigated their way around the many different passageways that greeted them at every corner, only stopping when came across a small hallway that presented three possible exits. The hallway was made up of two passages, both going in the opposite directing of the other and meeting together in a centre-squared hallway. To his left, Binsu saw one particular exit which seemed to go on forever. To his right, was yet another hallway that occpied plenty of doors along its walls and directly in front of him was a passageway much similar to the one he and Bokuden had been walking through. Before making a decision as to which path to take, Binsu quickly shut and opened his left eye, triggering the second-hand Byakugan he had been given by his brother when he died. With the new line of vision, Bonsu was able to see clearly through the walls of the cave and had insight to all if not most of the rooms within the caves within a 50m distance away from him. Although the many different rooms within the caves were of interest to the cunning shinobi, only two stood out to him the most. Inside the first of the two rooms that caught Binsu's attention the most, were three slightly moving targets, only two having enough power to brag about it towards a shinobi as powerful as Binsu and Bokuden were, the other being somewhat of an extra among the group. Within the last of the two rooms however, was a large creature of some sort, guarded by two more men of the same rank of the select few Binsu had not long ago killed outside of the cave, though in particular wielded a different weapon to the rest, taking on the shape of a scythe. Randomly choosing between one of the two rooms to visit, sure that the scientist was in at east in one of the two rooms, Binsu decided to make his way towards the second room which was located precisely 20m East to where the two were currently stationed at (right side exit). After deactivating the Byakugan, not having shown it to his partner Bokuden for his own reasons during the time of its usage, Binsu spoke up to his partner saying, "Go straight ahead and see if you find anything, i'll take the corridor to our right instead." After walking only 5m away from Bokuden, Binsu stopped in his tracks and called out behind him, "Meet back here if neither of us find anything, but should something happen along the way, activate the self destruction disc and hope that i am not in the cave when it goes off." The Jounin then turned towards the direction he had decided to walk in and soon found himself face to face with the door holding the three mysterious figures within the next room.

There he was, directly outside the door of the room he knew his opponents were standing around in. To think that he'd have to face another round of weak, unmotivated targets in the very next room and surely defeat them with little ease. Making sure one last time he had all of his tools and gear with him, Binsu quickly knocked down the door and drew out his Kappatsuna blade in the process. Upon entering the room, the Kumogakure Jounin was met with a few blankly starring pairs of eyes from the heads of the men that had been casually standing around the room guarding the beast that now stood behind them in chained shackles. The one standing to the left of Binsu's gaze had much shorter hair than the other, and sheathed around his waist was an average looking broadsword within a brown-coloured sling of its own. The man standing towards the right of Binsu's gaze, however carried a weapon that was far different to the ones he had seen so far, that weapon being a large, silver coloured scythe with two blades at one of the ends of the scythe's metalic body. The man with the scythe had a much narrower face than his supposed companion and had much longer hair than him too. Covering each of the men's naked bodies were a set of dark grey-coloured, long sleeved shirts with matching pants and covering their feet were a pair of black coloured boots. The man with the broadsword had short, spikey blonde hair and blonde eye brows. He also seemed to carry around his leg a dark grey kunai pouch, which Binsu saw as a useless item to carry around when neother of the men could classify themselves as village shinobi. "What do we have ere'?" asked the blonde haired guy, as he stared coldly towards Binsu with a crooked grin worn over his mouth. "Heh, so these are the people that had been messing with our plans this whole time. Well i don't know how you managed to keep your ass alive til now, but this is where your luck ends, chump," replied the long haired shinobi, with the middle part of his scythe resting on his right hand shoulder. With that, the short haired man took a run up towards Binsu, quickly drawing out his pathetic excuse of a blade as he ran. None of the bandits Binsu had fought so far had shown any skills worth mentioning in the art of Bukijutsu nor sword fighting, though judging by the blonde haired man's quick run up towards the Jounin, Binsu couldn't help but sense a change in power among the bandit's members. "Now, you die!" called out the guy, as he approached Binsu with his sword held downwards towards his right side hip, using the usual inverse sword grip. As the guy came within 3m towards Binsu, he went for a quick slash across the Jounin's left-side rib cage and upwards across his chin, but before he even covered the distance of 2m between he and Binsu, Binsu brought his legs together at the same time pivoting approximately 90 degrees to his west and held his sword vertically in front of him pointing its tip downwards, using the reverse hand grip on the blade with his right hand. As his attacker's slash came ricocheting against the large, flat body of Binsu's own sword, the bandit's balance was thrown off guard for a second, but before Binsu could use this mistake to his advantage, in the corner of his eye he saw the tip of the other man's scythe come into close range with the right side of his face. 'Dammit, almost forgot there were two of them,' Binsu thought to himself, as he avoided his initial intentions of retaliating against the blonde haired fighter's attempt and instead held his Kappatsuna blade to his right side and arched his body forwards facing downwards, bending his torso as far forward as it could go. He then quickly shifted his weight backwards and pushed himself backwards towards the scythe's incoming direction, but just made it underneath the weapon's blade before stopping only a meter away from his last position. 'My turn,' Binsu thought to himself, as he saw his first opportunity to strike back at either of the two men, but was slow to find out that the blonde haired man he once thought was vulnerable to an attack had recovered from his earlier shift in balance and had already made an attempt at swinging his blade towards the Jounin's legs. 'Dammit it!!' Binsu thought to himself, quickly making the decision of leaping 5m off of the ground and at the same time jumping 8m away from the two men before coming to a quick and immediate halt. "What's the matter, can't fight us both?!" boasted the blonde haired man, as he came dashing towards the Jounin with his sword held downwards by his left side as he ran. It was then that Binsu noticed a pattern in the movements of the short haired man: whenever he had his sword held low like that when he ran, he'd always make an attempt at attacking the Jounin from a low angle to a high angle, but Binsu also learnt that the man couldn't control his balance when he did so.

After making sure that the long haired man wouldn't have reached the two in time to back up his mate in close range, because he hadn't moved an inch when his mate had decided to run after the Jounin, Binsu sheathed his Kappatsuna blade on his back, but soon replaced it with his Kyōka blade which had also been sheathed over the Jounin's back. The moment Binsu took the blade out of its sheath, he experienced a electrifying surge of energy wash over his body, a clear sign that the blade's initial abilities had been activated. The Kyōka blade, the only new sword Bokuden hadn't seen Binsu use in battle yet, increased the user's speed by one tier the moment it was out of its sheath and in the hands of its wielder, who just so happened to be Binsu. The moment Binsu felt the energy wash over him, he dashed past the blonde haired man who had been courageously running towards him and stopped only a meter away from his companion, the man with the scythe. Still moving at his fastest speeds, Binsu did a quick 360 degree spin on the spot, but knocked away the long haired man's scythe out of his hand in the process before coming to a stop. He then paused for a few seconds to give the man enough time to see what had just happened, but as soon as the man flinched Binsu dashed forwards at top speeds and drove his Kyōka blade straight through the man's stomach, pushing him across the ground and into the wall behind him with tremendous force. Binsu heard the man's spine snap and the back of his skull shatter as the back of his body came smashing into the wall at rapid speeds. '4 seconds,' Binsu thought to himself, as he re-activated his byakugan the moment he took his blade out of the man's chest, letting his body slide against the wall and drop to the ground a few moments after the attack. The man's bloody back had managed to paint a long, thick line of blood down on the wall behind him, and as the man fell into a sitting position against the wall he spat out large amounts of blood onto the earthy surface. The floor and wall around the man had been stained with his blood and so had Binsu's sword. With the byakugan's near 360 field of range, Binsu could see that behind him, the blonde haired man hadn't bothered to chase after Binsu fromt he moment he had dashed past him in little more than a fraction of a second. The entire time the man had been frozen with shock, standing still where he last stopped with his hand pointed towards the direction he had stopped running in and his hands still shaking quite a bit. It was clear to Binsu that neither of the men had faced a foe who had the capabilities of reaching such speeds in a short given time frame before. Letting out a long sigh, Binsu sheathed his Kyōka blade and turned to face the crippled man. He then instantly de-activated his byakugan, before slowly making his way towards the guy, but before he reached the guy, a loud noise interrupted his intentions and stopped him in his tracks. 'GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!' a loud growl was heard, coming from the far left side of the room, which had been previously the front when Binsu first entered the room. Binsu slowly turned his head to see what it was, but raised both of his eye brows to the sight of a now-loose beast of some sort, that looked oddly similar to the same creature he had been sent to fight only a few years ago by the Raikage as a B ranked mission, and the same one he and Bokuden had to fight in their last attempt at infiltrating the bandits' cave bases. The beast had somehow managed to escape from its shackles and was now standing in at a height of 6m taller than Binsu's. "Great, another one of these ugly creatures," Binsu thought aloud, as he now drew out his static edge blade and waited for the beast to move. Before Binsu could come up with an alternative, the beast took charge towards the Jounin at full speeds, but wasn't near fast enough to match Binsu's own speed. As the beast drew nearer and nearer, Binsu hatched up a plan, that would kill the beast and grant him a way out of the cave at the same time. 'If i cause enough vibrations in the cave for Bokuden to think it was about to collapse, he might get the message that i've escaped and blow this place up to bits during his escape, which is exactly what i need him to do,' Binsu thought, as he now directed his attention towards the blonde haired man who had been frozen with fear up until now. Staring at the sight of the charging beast, the blonde haired man sat on the ground with fear glowing in his eyes. As mush as Binsu wanted to help the guy out, it was in his mission description to kill all that stood in his way, but as an act of pity, Binsu decided to let the man die in his own way. Before he dashed towards the exit, Binsu took out a kunai from his ninja pouch and threw it towards the huge beast the moment he saw it charge towards the blonde haired guy. To Binsu's luck, the beast changed its course and started making its way towards Binsu, who cleverly made his way towards the exit at a speed low enough for the beast to catch up to, but fast enough to keep Binsu just a few meters away from the creature. After making his way back out of the cave's entrance, Binsu leapt up into the air, before bringing himself back down just meters away from the beast before chasing back after it, after seeing it exit the cave as well. 'Now you die,' Binsu thought to himself, as he slashed at the beast's torso as he came into close range with the creature. As soon as the blade's edge dug as deep as a cm into the beast's skin, the creature fell forwards onto the ground and slept paralyzed on the floor. Not wanting the let the beast live the moment the paralysis wore off, Binsu switched his Static edge blade for his Kyōka blade and quickly used it to decapitate the beast's head, before re-sheathing it in its scabbard and seated himself on top of the beast's head (using it as a stoll) waiting patiently for Bokuden to exit the cave as well.
