All was dark as the clouds left a dark shadowy appearance as the stars could not be seen, however this would not matter for soon as the light of the sun began to travel across the land as the birds flew through the air as the sky began to break as the clouds parted. The storm was over as the ground was wet filled with puddles of rain that has since passed and trees broken apart by the explosions of thunder and lightning that had lit up the night sky. Now that the storm was over it would soon be time for him to be collected from the hospital by someone he did not know, and had yet to meet.

As the light finally reached the window of the hospital as the light entered into the room and lit up the floor to the edge of the bed, to the soft sky blue blanket and then a bit further to a small boy in a white little t-shirt which had a strange symbol on the back to represent his long forgotten clan. As he slowly opened his big bright blood red eyes as he blinked a few times to get a better look as he felt a strain on his eyes as his blonde hair moved with the light wind that entered the open window. He had sat up just moments ago as he then yawned a bit before stretching out his arms as wide as he could. He struggled to keep his eyes open as he discovered something a few years ago, as he was meant to have began his journey several years ago when he qualified as a genin.

He had become a genin at a young age of around eight years old and while not exceptional in anyone area he was an excellent archer and showed promise when it came to his mental strength. However this meant nothing in light of his eyes which had begun to strain him severely as that day when they had to rush him to the hospital as the sight he held dear had all but left him. Unable to do much as he trained and struggled as hard as he could, from being a brilliant archer to being blind it took some time but he slowly had begun regaining his sight. However they did not fully understand what was wrong with him and in accordance with the will of the Raikage and the permissions given by his guardians he was given the best treatment they could. Now it was finally time for him to return to his path, while he was struggling his eyes were getting better and all he had to do now was get used to them. As he sat their alone in the room the staff stood outside his room and begun speaking amongst themselves, his senses were not all that good and it would take some time before he would regain his former abilities.

The nurse began speaking to the doctor as she spoke in a low tone of voice.
"He has been here for so long, he visited here nearly everyday because of his eyes hasn't he. So glad he can finally see again, even if its not that clear its better then seeing nothing at all."

The doctor laughed a bit before replying, "He was only nine years old when he came to us, and remember how small he was. Only about say so high." As the woman showed her hand more or less where three feet were.

"It is finally time for him to go now, his eyes are recovering on their own. His body just needs to get used to them that is all, I still can not believe it has already been seven years since he came here. Though his family are really nice to come visit him nearly everyday. They even played with him, unlike some families who cast aside children as if they were tools who meant nothing when they failed. Finally that girl is coming to fetch him and probably get him back up to speed. Only time will tell though."

This was early morning as the nurse finally brought in the young boy's breakfast and laid it in front of him as she greeted him. "Hello Elin", as he slowly looked up to her and said, "Hi..." before looking back down again unsure of how to react since his been there too long. The nurse told him to open his eyes wide as she flashed a special light so she could check if there were any complications, the eyes were recovering naturally before she took the light away. "Sorry about that.", he just went back to looking down at his food. He was getting a bit sleepy when she poked his cheek with the spoon as he woke up. "Time to eat, its too early to go back to sleep sweety." He looked down as he bit the spoon stubbornly as he ate the cereal as she fed it to him. There was a time when he first came here kicking and screaming in pain, was he really going to be allowed to go back into the world again. Was it even okay for them to let him go, did he cause trouble for everyone or was he useful. He just felt useless and wanted to get rid of those feelings as soon as he could. His body felt somewhat weak and his strength was not very good either. However he was working hard so that one day he would be able to see clearly again. The day went on and it was soon going to reach the afternoon, which would be the time when he would be fetched from his time in hospital.

Ame cursed under her breath as the clouds parted above her, drenching her head and pants but thankfully not her torso. If it weren't for her waterproof jacket she was quite sure that she would have caught pneumonia by now. She leapt from tree branch to tree branch, lagging behind her team members for that particular mission. She had one arm gingerly wrapped around her torso, as if holding some precious trinket. In actual fact, she had been wounded by the mission objective, a group of bandits that had been threatening travelers going in and out of the village. It wasn't anything life-threatening but it hurt like hell. Her one teammate had done a good job of patching her up and wrapping her torso in many layers of bandages, for which she was very grateful. She had been shaking too much from the pain to wrap herself up at that point in time. Her katana felt heavier, as it always did after missions like this. Whenever she killed someone a thick, uncomfortable feeling would settle in her gut, and it was only worsened by the kunai wound she'd already sustained.

She moved a little faster to catch up with the group as they neared the village, rain still soaking her hair and dripping into her eyes. She probably looking like a walking waterfall with her blue hair. Ame smiled wryly at the thought. The sun was starting to rise as they drew closer, lighting the sky with pinks and oranges where the cloud cover wasn't too thick. The rain began to taper as the village gates came into view, and Ame let out a sigh of relief at the sight. She would finally be able to sleep in a warm bed. Her hopes were promptly shattered, however, as she entered the village. The guards at the gate spotted her injury and sent her off to the hospital. Ame pouted as she was escorted there, the annoying chuunin acting as her escort spouting nonsense in her ear.

She'd never liked the hospital all that much. As far as she was concerned, bandages worked fine if your guts weren't spilling out. Which hers weren't, mind you. It was too sterile, too impersonal and clean. It reminded her of the torture room. That was a memory not worth revisiting. Still, regardless of her meagre protests (she reminded herself that she had a clan reputation to keep up) she was taken to a hospital room anyway. As she was taken through the hallways by a friendly nurse she passed an open door. Inside the room she saw a young-looking boy with blonde hair. He looked pretty lonely from the brief glance she'd gotten. She was quickly shoved into her own room across the hallway and told to remove her jacket. She grumbled inside her head, projecting an aura of indifference and a blank stare. The jacket came away sticky with blood and the nurse gasped as she saw the vermillion stained bandages wrapped around Ame's stomach. Ame huffed and turned her head aside as the nurse became a bit more frantic, asking her to lie down so she could examine the wound.

Ame stared at the stark white ceiling as the sun rose properly. They had given her some painkillers and rewrapped the stab wound, careful to make sure she avoided infection. It would put her out of comission for a week, they had said. Had she been anyone else she would have started complaining but she just took it all with a straight face and stopped listening. At least it wouldn't stop her from participating in the Chuunin Exams. If she wasn't allowed to participate she wasn't sure what she'd do. All Ame wanted was to get out of there, but they had stored her katana away for safekeeping and there was no way she was going to leave without her precious blade. 'Echo' meant far too much to her for that. To her surprise (or rather, not to her surprise) no one came to check up on her. Her mother was not present, as always, and the only one she could fathom coming to see her would have no idea she was even there in the first place.

Eventually visiting hours started in full and Ame could see people wandering around outside her room, thanks to the door being ajar. A nice looking couple walked into the room of the blonde she had seen earlier that morning, and she felt a soft pang of envy at the sight. Would her parents have come to see her had things been different? Who knew? Ryuzojis were indifferent on principle. Ame turned away from the sight, wondering when they were going to let her go home. It was already mid-morning by now, and she had been in the hospital since dawn. The smell of bleach and antiseptics was starting to make her head spin.

A sudden thought struck her. She was supposed to go and fetch a boy from the hospital today. Apparently he was finally well enough to go out on missions. She had completely forgotten about it thanks to the dismal mission she'd been on, and now she was probably late. Ame groaned and tried to roll over, hissing at the sharp pain in her abdomen. She blew a few strands of dark blue out of her eyes and gritted her teeth, pulling herself upwards. It hurt like hell, as if the painkillers had already been neutralised in her bloodstream, but she ignored it and got up anyway.

Ame wrapped an arm around her stomach again, and moved towards the door. She didn't have her jacket, and even if she did it was soaked in blood so it wouldn't make a good first impression. All she had was a thin white tank top and her black sports bra underneath that, coupled with the bandages. Luckily they had given her a pair of black pants that resembled her own, and her sandals were at the foot of her bed. She strapped them on quickly, trying to forget the pain from leaning over and sighing in relief when she straightened out. Ame poked her head around the door and looked up and down the hallway for a moment to see if anyone was coming. Seeing no one she shot down the corridor as fast as she could when she felt like she was being repeatedly stabbed. The lady at the reception seemed wary to give her back her stuff, but ultimately gave up arguing and Ame soon had her katana around her waist and her jacket under her arm.

She was about to ask about a boy that was supposed to be fetched when her nurse noticed her and dragged her back to her room, gear in tow. Somehow, the nurse made a mistake and shoved her inside the room of the little blonde boy from before instead and slammed the door, leaving Ame standing there awkwardly. "Well so much for my great escape." Ame turned and rolled her shoulders, careful not to stretch too far. She blinked when she saw the boy and laughed half-heartedly. "Oh, sorry. It seems I've been delegated to the wrong room. Sorry to bother you."

The boy was still sitting and waiting patiently as he was looking out the window, suddenly as if breaking into the room someone rushed in as he jumped up for a moment as he was startled as he now sat up fully against the back of the bed which had earlier been raised to provide proper back support. He did not necessarily have a bad back, but with his high levels of inactivity they could not afford to take any chances with his well-being. He had pulled his knees against his chest as he just got a vague glance of what could have been the nurse or the doctor. His eyesight was not too good as he was shaking with a bit of fear at the sudden brash entrance.

He looked towards the intruder for a while as he was mainly just disorientated from having been in the hospital for such a long time. He looked the person up and down scanning them with his eyes. From what little time he had to look at her he could grasp that she had long dark blue hair, though it was actually shorter he had assumed she had a ponytail at the back since she was a girl. She seemed similar to his nurse but the nurse had brown hair so it could not be her, as he looked down he noticed she had a really weird top that he had never seen before. He was mostly used to seeing t-shirts, robes and general monk clothing. Having no knowledge of this new strange clothing he would later learn was a tank top. He also could barely make out something underneath the tank top due to the nature of it, but it confused him that she seemed to have something on top and at the bottom which was weird. Girls normally only wore something on top near their chest why did she have another one on her tummy. His imagination began to get carried away as he imagined her having two chests which was not too farfetched with the way the shinobi world worked. Had he not been in the hospital so long he might have had other motives for checking her out, right now it was just curiosity and insecurity that had taken hold of him.

Who was this strange girl and as he looked down he thought he liked her pants, he was tired of wearing the loose shorts or the occasional gowns they were given. They said his legs needed to get some air and that he could not have anything hot since the weather had been hot majority of the time while he was there. This was mainly due to the air conditioning which was set up to be quite high in order to keep his muscles warm during the exercise sessions, while he did go outside into the hospital's garden and rehab facility area his condition was such that he could not play outside too long before feeling tired, sore or in pain. It was a peculiar eye condition he had and other than the Doctor, head nurse, Raikage and the Monk in glasses his true condition was a secret and was just referred to as chronic fatigue and partial blindness which had healed to just being a bad case of being near sighted.

The number of thoughts running through his mind as he began to wonder if she was here to visit him, was he going to be adopted even though he said he did not want to be taken away from his family in the orphanage. Was she one of his long lost relatives which got shot down by the fact that she was not blonde. Her blue eyes seemed to be looking back at him as she broke the silence as he blinked then his mind finally caught up to him as it took in the words escape and stuck.

He looked to her a bit frightened as he spoke. "Are you an escaped bandit?" as he was scared he reached around and picked up a plastic knife which had been one of their eating utensils as he held it like a kunai. He was shaken up a bit having not yet fully understood the situation. In the back of his mind he must have forgotten that he was being fetched by a shinobi today, but having been sheltered for so long his perception of the world was currently rather blind to put it lightly.

Meanwhile outside the room the nurse stopped halfway down the hall. "I feel like i forgot about something." She must been tired from working hard that day having forgotten all about how she needed to tell Elin that she was the woman who was meant to fetch him. Either way the boy would have to learn to deal with the real world sooner or later. Being out of the game for a long time does not mean you can just jump back in and have people holding back.

Ame's awkward laughter died down as she watched the boy in front of her's reaction to her words. At first he simply looked her over, as if trying to figure out who she was. She didn't blame him of course. It wasn't everyday someone barged into your hospital room as she did. It wasn't her fault per se, but that depended on the viewpoint. She could see how it could be considered her fault. She had been the one to try and stage a grand escape from the confines of the hospital. A little bit of confusion crept into the boy's expression as he looked at her chest and stomach. Ame self-consciously crossed her arms. Nothing was more embarrassing that Suiton training with Sanosuke-sensei (which was in just underwear for both of them) but having that boy stare at her so blatantly like that was still uncomfortable, even though he seemed to have no ulterior motive but curiousity. He seemed to drift away for a bit, as if contemplating her chest. Ame huffed at this. She knew she wasn't the most voluptuous girl out there, but it wasn't as if she looked like a ten year old either.

Ame blinked as the odd blonde boy then regarded her somewhat fearfully before picking up a plastic knife and aiming it at her as if it was a kunai, muttering something about her being a bandit. "A-a bandit?" She figured she probably looked about as confused as she felt. Why would he think she was a bandit? She was wearing her hitai-ate wasn't- oh wait, she had forgotten to ask for it back at the reception desk. That made things a bit clearer. Still, Ame was quite sure she didn't look like a bandit. It wasn't as if she was dressed particularly weirdly. Perhaps the katana strapped at her waist had something to do with it. She laughed internally at the fact that the nurse had forgotten to remove her weapon from her this time around. That could certainly come in handy in the near future.

She concentrated back on the blonde boy who was still sitting in his hospital bed, arms around his knees and threatening her with a plastic knife. Ame supposed it could have been worse. An actual kunai was something she really wasn't in the mood for right now. The stitches across her stomach throbbed slightly at the thought. She rubbed across the instinctually, a small grimace making it's way onto her face and most likely not reassuring the boy of her lack of ill-intention. Ame walked forwards, not too fast as to scare the boy. She moved her hands to her sides and bowed slightly, a more formal greeting as expected of her. She had the Ryuzoji Clan reputation to uphold, of course. Had she been talking to a fellow clan member she would probably have bowed five times lower until her chin nearly brushed the ground. Some of the current clan leadership expected to be treated as if they were Daimyos.

"I can assure you I am no bandit. Ryuzoji Ameryuu, genin of Kumogakure no Sato. I honestly didn't mean to startle you. A nurse pushed me into your room by mistake." Ame straightened up again, feeling the pain from her wound lessen once the muscles were no longer pushed together. She observed the blonde, noticing how his eyes seemed to be straining to see her properly. Maybe that was why he had mistaken her for a bandit earlier. She was sure that if her mother were to hear about her being mistaken for a commonplace thief she would be thrown into etiquette classes for the rest of her life. Ame could practically hear the ear-numbing lecture she would get for that transgression. It would certainly not be a pleasant experience.

"If it isn't rude of me, may I ask your name?" Who knew, this boy may well have been the exact person she was looking for in this Raijin-forsaken place (oh she truly hated hospitals). Ame tried to recall exactly what her new charges name had been. Was it Erin? Elly? Definitely something to that effect, she was sure, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. There had been a picture alongside the name when she'd received her instructions, and she was quite sure the boy she was supposed to escort was blonde, but she couldn't remember much else. The boy in front of her looked quite young, a lot shorter than her with a boyish face and wide eyes. The dossier had mentioned the age sixteen, and though Ame knew that the shinobi world was full of oddities she couldn't quite believe that the boy in front of her was older than her. She could have mistaken him for someone else though, so it could be neither here nor there.

He was worried as he could barely hear anything as he just sat there confused. Then she said something more clearly as he heard her say that she was Ameryuu of the Ryuzogi clan. Which did not calm him down until the next part saying she was a genin of Kumogakure no Sato. She said she did not mean to give him a fright and that the nurse forced her into there by mistake.

It took a while, but he was starting to come to his senses as he gave a somewhat timid and startled response in movement before quickly moving around to a seiza position in which he was now sitting on both his knees pressed into the mattress of the bed as he looked down nervously then slowly bowed back to her bow.

"Sorry for thinking you were a bandit miss Ryuzoji-onesan", he was not sure of her age but since she was bigger then him he mistook her for being much older at around maybe twenty or twenty five years of age. He was unsure as he was worried he offended her greatly.

She then proceeded to ask his name as he thought about it for a bit before placing the palm of his hand squarely on his chest as he said out loud and proud. "I am Elin, a genin of Kumogakure no Sato and I am glad to meet a beautiful one-san like you." He paused for a moment thinking a bit as he looked to the side.

"Ryuzoji-onesan, are you here to fetch me?" since he remembered a shinobi was going to fetch him so he just thought he might as well ask her. As he waited for her answer he was beginning to shake a bit nervously as he had not yet mastered the seiza position as his legs began to start falling asleep.

Ame watched as the boy calmed down when she mentioned being a Kumo genin. He hadn't seemed to recognise her family name, something for which she was slightly grateful. The name carried more a reputation of fear than anything else. He bowed back to her, as was per custom and she wondered if he had been raised in a family situation similar to her own. Ex-samurai clans never really lost the modis operandi of being very formal, something which had carried over to the newest generations of Ryuzoji. It was nice to be treated with a similar level of respect wihtout having to be at home. She smiled at being called 'Onesan'. She had never had any siblings of her own so it was an interesting experience for her.

"It's fine. I wasn't wearing my headband so I probably did look a little suspicious, hehe. I'm notthat old though, just fifteen actually. My height sometimes confuses people." She rubbed the back her head sheepishly, messing the already spiky strands of her short hair even more.  She had been mistaken for an adult plenty of times, at least from the back. Once or twice people had even thought she was a boy. If not for her feminine facial features she wouldn't blame them. She certainly looked like one in her gear, thanks to her less than curvaceous body type.

She felt a slight blush spread across her cheeks at his compliment. She'd never been called beautiful before. "Arigato gozaimasu, Elin-san I-"Ame registered the name somewhere in the back of her mind and came up with a match. Wasn't that the name of the boy she was supposed to be fetching today? She was quite sure that it was but- She looked at the boy in front of her for a moment and blinked. Wasn't he supposed to be older?

His question then confirmed it and Ame pushed the matter right out of her mind, making sure he couldn't see her momentary confusion. "Hai. I am. I am on the Raikage's squad, Team Alpha, so I was asked to come and fetch you as well as go on a couple of missions with you while you get back up on your feet. It's very nice to meet you."

She replied saying everything was fine and that she did not mean to look suspicious which to some degree was what she looked like at the time. She seemed to notice the way he said one-san made a stab at her being potentially older to some degree. He looked at her as it ate into him deep inside as soon he would be turning sixteen, though some people mixed up dates it was unbelievable that in a week or two he would be older then this tall girl. He kept running it through his head that she was not a young lady, but a tall young girl. Who happened to not only be younger then him, but she was taller then him. If he still had height issues like he had in the past he would have went into a fit. He had calmed down to some degree, but he was really tense given his current situation. The true reason for his sight problem was actually not a natural cause, however it had been made forbidden to give the reason for that.

She rubbed her hair back which was something he hardly ever saw anyone do, except for this one cocky kid at home who always teased him for being weak. He always would brush his hair back either to show off or to get the hair out of his eyes. The monk who raised him told him it was also to cover up that his head was itchy with dandruff so he rubbed back to hide this. This action led him to nearly think she was a boy when he remembered her saying she was a girl and her voice being somewhat girly. Similar to his voice which made him question himself at whether he was really a man, though he was a boy so he could not really be worrying about whether he was more of a man or more of a boy. In the end he was the little boy of the temple orphanage and the prodigy who has now reawakened. Though he now needed some form of practice and some warm ups. She also thanked him for some reason which had him a bit confused as he was just being polite and did nothing special other than state the truth.

She said she was on the Raikage's Squad which made her a member of team Alpha, she also said she would help him get back on his feet. He had forgotten all about it for a moment, then the stinging pain hit him as he fell off the bed from keeping the seiza position too long as he managed to block his face from harm in a way that appeared somewhat skilful, but mostly seemed like a desperate act to literally save face in a humiliating situation. He looked up to her then said, "Thanks, pleased to meet you too One-san, would it be okay to call you Ame-chan?". As he laid on the floor foolishly with his head resting on his arms as he was taking his time to recover from the pain of the painfully painful fall. This was how painful it was for him being a boy who fell forward, he saved his face but he forgot to save what was normally more important for most guys. He had spent too much time here and had a bit of a backlog in his manners having not taken a more mature way of life yet, but at the same time he was already rather mature in a work ethic and good behaviour.

He was finally going to be taken away from this place, finally he would be set free from this prison.

Ame watched as Elin seemed to take a bit of offense at the fact that she was younger than him (if the dossier was indeed correct) but quite a bit taller. She had never liked her height very much. She'd always looked like she was in the middle of a growth spurt, all through her years at the academy, and most people she met were shorter than her, regardless of gender. During her academy days she had been mercilessly teased about it, the other kids always saying she was probably an older kid who was stupid enough to be held back. She'd come home crying many times because of the treatment, and it had continued until a few months before graduation - when she had started to wear clothing with the family crest. People had stopped talking to her altogether after that, probably fearing retribution for their prior actions. Back then she had just wished she wasn't so lonely, especially after the incident.  She'd often wished that she was small and petite, more lady-like. It had always been a bit of a sore point for her. As a genin people didn't bother with it, though she had been thought to be older than she was. She supposed it came in handy now, more than it did then. It gave her access to missions that required one to play a part, acting as another. She could pass for people much older than she was, sparing the higher level shinobi from such tedious tasks. Still, the way he seemed to be tense put her on edge as well, but she opted to keep her cool for his sake and kept her nerves from showing.

Ame's natural reaction to being flustered seemed to trigger a memory for Elin and she self-conciously smoothed the now spiked up strands of her. A few people had asked her why she kept her hair so short. She had personally always felt like it was encumbersome at times. Even if having short hair made her look tomboyish it was certainly easier to fight with. Having long hair just made you an easier target.  Still, her hair grew quickly, and the constant haircuts were starting to become a nuisance. Perhaps she would let it grow for a while, just to shoulder length, but only after she made Chuunin. That was a bigger hill to climb. She let her face go momentarily placid, a half smile but not total blankness as she imagined what the exams could entail. She wondered if any of her friends would be participating,  or maybe even this boy in front of her.

His sudden fall off of his hospital bed startled her from her thoughts. She was too surprised to catch him in time, but he seemed to manage to halt his descent well enough to protect his face. She heard the telltale sound of his breath being knocked out if him and thought that it sounded very familiar. Hadn't Sanosuke-sensei made the same noise when- Ame winced and sucked in a breath for his sake. That must have hurt. His words sounded pained as well. "Um, would you like an ice pack for that? I'm sure I can find a nurse to give you one." She wasn't at all good with akward situations. "Or we could just leave this place. I don't particularly like it. Maybe we could go on a tour of Kumo and introduce ourselves properly? That is of course if you're unused to the city. I'd invite you to my house but... my relatives are less than welcoming of outsiders." Personally she just wanted to get out of that place as fast as possible. She was willing to wait for Elin's decision though.

He blushed as she asked if he needed an icepack as he looked down, "I am a big boy now, I can handle something like this", as he gave a stubborn defiant look as if to say even if it hurts I will never admit it to you. He was in his rebellious phase so to speak, which was not something that was too obvious since he was generally so well behaved and well mannered that most people could not really understand what he was thinking sometimes.

He was carefully finding his strength as he pushed down on the ground, everything seemed okay as he then took one step with his right foot. He pushed himself up slowly to stand up as he heard her say something interesting. She asked if he wanted to get out of this place right now and explore Kumo as he was slowly regaining his senses. His legs however were still not fully used to standing up, he had been riddled with many problems which were actually caused from an incident that had happened during the time when he was blind.

On that day he chose to go out exploring, without his sight he had no idea what he was walking into or being bumped by. He felt grass as he had somehow made it outside, but he felt a sharp pain as he stepped further, then he felt another sharp pain as he began to struggle to breathe and his consciousness began fading. It was on this day that the snake bit him, the poisonous venom of the venomous snake had taken hold of him as he was taken into the emergency room. The poison had damaged the tissue in his legs weakening them, while they were able to save his legs they would take some time before they could be used the way they were before.

The countless days of rehabilitation, the moments when the nurse would take his legs and raise them for him as he felt some pain from the stretching of his stiff broken muscles. He had to relearn to walk while being blind at the same time, he had been plagued for what seemed an eternity but the rehabilitation actually began building on and his body retained a high level of flexibility from continuous stretching. While he could not really run as well as he used to, he definitely was ready to return to the battlefield now. At least after his recovered a bit and gotten some fresh air.

Having this in his subconscious he nodded as he smiled. "Let's go before they decide to keep me in here for hurting myself again." As he smiled a bit of blood came from his nose showing he did not avoid the full impact and his legs were just a bit shaky as he walked towards her and took her hand. Whether she would allow this would be up to her, but having been here since he was eight he had not quite grasped the degree of intimacy or deeper meaning behind just holding someone's hand. That and he was a bit scared of getting lost since he had not been outside the hospital for a while as he looked up to her. "Let's go Ame-...." as he paused not sure if he was allowed to use her name as his eyes seemed to be filled with water.

Ame looked on concerned, as Elin seemed to be a bit shaky, along with the blood dripping from his nose. None of those things were ever a good sign. She honestly didn't want to stay in the hospital any longer herself, but she didn't want Elin to leave before he was sure he was perfectly fine and in good health. She wasn't about to let her new charge die straight after meeting him. That was just ridiculous. Despite only meeting him today, Ame already felt a sense of protectiveness developing towards the boy, and didn't want him to get hurt in any way, much less because of her. She hesitated, but ultimately decided that he was probably as sick of this place as she was, and nodded. Moving forwards to take his hand as support. "Okay then Elin. We can go. Just tell me if you're feeling unwell okay? You're my responsibility now, after all, and perhaps in time my friend." Ame smiled, helping the boy to steady himself and leading him out of the room.

They walked down the corridors, Ame still needing to retrieve her headband from the reception desk before she left. She hummed softly to herself as they passed curious doctors and nurses, the tune something that had been sung in her family since the beginning of time, back when they had still been a samurai clan, an age old tale of peace and prosperity. Back when she was younger she had revelled in those tales. Honour, pride, the strength of resolve. All of it had enchanted her, and made her so proud to be a Ryuzoji,  even if they were no longer a samurai clan. Ame laughed internally at how little it applied to her family now (at least the peace part - her clan was still ridiculously wealthy despite how little of that wealth filtered down to the branch families and people like herself), but shook away the melancholy thought. She wasn't one for pessimism. Except of course when it came to hospitals. She looked down at the boy beside her, realising she knew almost nothing about him. "Well Elin, I guess we should get to know each other, since we're bound to be spending a lot of time together. Hm, let's start with something simple, what made you want to be a shinobi? For me it's probably because everyone in my family is one. I kind of just followed in their footsteps." Ame herself didn't have a particularly self-sacrificing reason, but Elin seemed like the kind of person who might, and someone who didn't really have a very dark past behind his reasoning.Of course Ame couldn't be entirely sure,  considering that everyone had something in their pasts they declined to share. She shouldn't make assumptions just because Elin looked adorable and huggable.

They reached the reception area and the woman who had given her her things earlier waved Ame over. Ame came as she was told. "Gomenasai, I forgot to give you this earlier. I hope it hasn't caused any problems." The receptionist held up Ame's hitai-ate and the blue-haired girl smiled, accepting the symbol of her homeland. "No, no problem. Thank you very much. If you don't mind, I'm actually here to check this boy out on orders of Raikage-sama. It should be filed under Ryuzoji Ameryuu." Ame watched as the receptionist's eyes widened a fraction, before she squeaked and hurried to get the papers in order. "H-hai of course. Here you go then, just sign here." She held out a piece of paper and a pen with her head bowed as if trying to avoid looking in Ame's eyes. Ame did as she was told, drooping slightly at the reaction of the woman. It happened so often, that people feared the name. It hadn't seemed to lessen any, despite the clan's recent reforms in many areas. They still had the weight of their past to carry, and it helped their reputation none. "Thank you. I believe that's everything?" "Yes, have a nice day, Ryuzoji-san."

Ame smiled at the woman once more, before breezing through the hospital doors and waiting for Elin to follow. The day was warm, the clouds above thin, white and wispy instead of the usual thick grey. Everywhere people seemed to be milling about, taking advantage of the smal reprieve from Kumo's unpredictable weather systems and spending some time outside. Ame breathed in the fresh and air and sighed in contentment. Today may still be a good day, if she played her cards right. Who knew, maybe she'd even find a new confidant along the way. She turned to Elin with a small grin, hands on her hips as a gust of wind made her hair whip around her face. "Okay then, Elin-san. Where to first?"

From here on out things were bound to be interesting.

He held her hand and thought that it felt quite warm, however whether she noticed how icy cold his hands were would be another thing. She did not seem to mind since she was humming some strange tune while they were walking down the hallway. He was looking at his feet, wondering why he was still so small as he felt a gaze piercing through the bangs of his hair as he tilted his head slightly to look up to her, his hair sliding over his face before revealing his big red eyes.

She said that they should get to know each other since they were going to spend a lot of time together. One of the young nurses overheard that as she looked on with jealous eyes. The only thought in the nurses mind being that this evil witch had stolen her precious Elin, which soon passed as another small boy passed in a wheel chair as she found a new child to pamper.

She began with asking him why he started as a shinobi and he replied with just following in her footsteps and he did not want to lie with her as he blushed. "I just wanted to get strong so I can learn all about the world." He looked down blushing deep thinking how embarrassing and stupid that must sound. His true reason was rather simple and to the point, had he not spent so much time in the hospital his views might have changed more. Being trapped in the hospital just boosted this childish goal even further due to him seeking to also be free.

They finally got to the reception area as he watched the receptionist give Ame her headband. She was busy checking him out as the receptionist went to find the note and read through it before looking at Ame. She then looked down at the letter again then looked to Elin. "Elin, you finally get to leave today, here take this." as the woman finally gave him his headband and a small little shinobi starter pack which made him blush. Why did she have to give it in a cute little box like he was some kind of little kid. The receptionist seemed to be a bit scared of Ame, he was not sure why but he smiled as the receptionist waved. The small boy followed behind Ame who seemed to be rushing out of the hospital as he nearly started to try running but his legs refused to listen as he could barely keep up to her.

As soon as they got out the door he was in shock and awe at being outside in a place other then the hospital garden. He watched her strike a pose like those guys who did plays at the hospital. She then asked him where he wanted to go as he thought to himself.

"Let us go to the top of the mountain Ame!!" as he must have lost his mind from being cooped up so long. He had gotten way too excited and it was showing a lot more now then it did earlier. Things were going to soon change and the things they would have to do would not all be fun, though maybe everything was fun to the small boy.
