Eiji Kaguya

Eiji Kaguya

Sneaking past all the guards, Eiji slipped in the night as if he was a ghost. These guards were child play as he could hide from all of them. Eiji quietly slipped into the Kage's office. Then Eiji looked down at the desk Sero used to sit at, it still shook his composure when he is reminded that the man was dead. Sero gave him a second chance, a reason to live. Now that person was dead Eiji was not sure what he was suppose to do. He felt safe while Sero was around. Eiji was protected by his word, by his promises, and dead man can keep a promise now can they. He was lost and the new Kage was not he answer he was looking for. Taking off his head band around his waist he left it on the desk, with a note.

To The Mizukage:

Eiji opened one of the window in the room and jumped out of it. He was not sure where he was heading but he knew that his answers won't be found in this town. He had questions that he was sure that only he could find out while seeing the world through someone else's eye. He landed on the ground and walked slowly to his room where he knew that it would most likely not be his own when he came back. He packed all his things in his backpack. Sighing out of depression Eiji noticed how little he had. Putting his Jonin vest in the bag he wondered if he would ever put it back on. Eiji stretched his neck to get those dark thoughts out of his head. He folded up all his pirate looking gear and placed it on the foot of his bed. Leaving the hat on top of everything. Looking around he placed on a baggy white long sleeve shirt and some baggy looking slacks. His shoes looked like normal shoes that people around the town wore everyday. He looked really plain. Looking in the mirror he realized that he never took a moment to realize what he looked like without all his fancy clothing. He had to admit, he was more attractive than with all that pirate gear on him. He lastly grabbed his swords from the bed that he rested them on and placed them on his hip. The double sheath held both swords on hip so it just looked like on thick sword. Moving as fast as he could jumped out his own window and felt the wind blow between his long hair. This feeling was great and made him feel alive for just a brief moment as he touched the ground. Getting into a running position he could feel the spring in his muscles let loose as he started to run down the street.

He could feel the wind blowing through his hair as he ran through the town in the middle of the night. No one was awake and everyone was still resting. Maybe they had a rough day, and were trying to sleep it off. Sleep was his worst enemy right now and caused him to see Sero and all the others he had lost. The nightmares just did not seem to stop and even when he tried to relaxed he was bugged by villagers to help. He did not mind it when Sero was alive, but with his death Eiji never seem to get a break. He could feel a drizzle of rain from sky and he knew that it would eventually pick up. Pushing to the limit of his speed he made it to the outskirts of town within not time. He wanted to stop by Kaguza's place real quick because he promised that he would inform him when he was going to leave. He knew that it would most likely be quick and Eiji was hoping that he could leave his stuff there and move on.

He could see the shack in the distance and the rain picked up to a downpour. 'Perfect, ya yellow belly sky god.' He thought to himself. The rain soaked him really quickly and he got the building just in time to feel his socks getting wet. Stopping in front of the door his leg muscles started to groan as he ran to quickly. Stretching his legs for a bit he could feel them loosen up a bit and enough so he could relax them. Looking at the ground he slowly looked up to the door and sighed. He could choose just to leave right now, and never hear about it again. Until he came back anyway. Shaking his head he raised his hand and right before he started to knock he wondered why he was doing this. Maybe he was hoping that he would come with so that this journey won't be lonely. Yet Kaguza had a life here and he had no right to impede on it. Eiji could of sworn that he heard Kaguza talk about how he wanted to see the world, so Eiji guessed this would be his chanced.

He knocked on the door three solid times. The solid thumps sounded like thunder to him, and he shifted a bit. He now waited to see if Kaguza would even answer in the middle of the night. Making sure that his legs did not seize up he started to do squats in front of the door. He wanted to make sure that his body was limp and ready to move just in case the Mizukage decided to get a stick up her bum, and decided to send fellow Jonin after him. Or even worse, send Anbu thinking that Eiji was going back to his old ways. Eiji waited again before knocking again, it was in the middle of the night and staying up for most people was a no go. The village always seemed so alive in the morning anyway Eiji thought to himself.

The days after hearing of his death each felt like an eternity. Sero's presence was a beacon to most if not all, the loss made the village feel dark. Normal tasks for those feeling any kind of sorrow took longer and felt heavier. Those closer to the man or who looked up to him, felt the weight crushing down on them. Kaguza's normal routine was no longer enjoyable, it was missing something now. Before, he worked hard so that he could be strong to protect the village. As the record stood, the village had been burned to the ground and now the Mizukage he admired was dead. What had he accomplished to prevent either of these actions, nothing. He trained but couldn't help anyone. His leader had died, and he never had the chance to help him at all.

Taking to sleeping more, he wanted to avoid reality, but even his dreams began to bear the weight of the village's loss. The relaxing dreams he wanted became the sorrow he wanted to avoid. Dreams of Sero's battle at the summit were a reoccurring vision. That night's seemed to be the worst one so far, his usual dreams he would only be able to watch from a distance, as his Kage was murdered. This time was different, instead of watching, he stood next to Sero. The dream felt real, he was standing next to his Kage, weapon in hand. Sero's murderer stood in front of the two of them, only a black figure stood before them. Kaguza charged forward, hoping to end the battle before Sero might fall. It felt like time stopped as he was beaten in an instant and left bloodied against a stone wall, forced to watch as again his Kage was murdered. The black figure stared at kaguza for a moment, before leaving. Slowly it began to rain, though a dream, he could feel the rain begin to fall on him as he lay helpless. The sky darkened as the rain picked up, Kaguza felt scarred, for the moment he simply wanted to die as well.

Closing his eyes as he leaned against the stone wall, three loud cracks of thunder rang out. The world around him seemed to fade. Again three loud cracks rang out, this time however it was not thunder but the sound of someone at his door. Leaning up in his bed, he looked around. The small shack he lived in was just the same as it had always been. "Just a minute." Kaguza spoke out, a hint of both drowsiness and sadness to it. He didn't want to answer the door, but he didn't want to go back to sleep either, he just wanted to find some kind of peace or meaning. Getting up, he grabbed the first shirt he could find as well as some pants. Opening the door as Eiji was standing on the other side. The pirate of the village was, on paper, his squad leader. Though his squad was both quickly formed then disbanded, the two of them were both independent people, to the point of spending the majority of their time alone without anyone. However they could call each other friend.

Eiji stood without his usual attire or even his headband. It was pretty clear what his intentions were, he was leaving the village, though not to go against it. Inviting him inside, he pointed out to his table for Eiji's things. There was a strong pull in the back of his mind as well as his heart to go. Perhaps he could find a new reason to fight and get stronger if he went. It didn't take long for Kaguza to make a decision, he'd go and travel with Eiji, hopefully the time away would be want he needs the most. Finding a small bag, he began to pack a few clothes but nothing else. Everything declaring him a shinobi of Kiri would stay.

Opening a drawer to his dresser, Kaguza pulled out a small box. Inside was the headband given to him upon graduation from the academy. He had never worn it and despite it being in a boxed it had a layer of dust on it. The original idea he had as a young genin seemed to be covered in dust just the same. Closing the box, he wrote out a simple note, in case the Anbu or new Kage came to investigate. "I'll return." Was all the note said. Taking his War hammer Temper and setting it on his dresser, the box and note were then placed on top. It should be clear as to what it meant. Looking over the wall of weaponry the hung above his dresser, he wouldn't take any of it. If he was to find new meaning, he wouldn't have anything hold him back. Looking back to Eiji, he motioned that he was ready to go.

Eiji waited patiently as Kaguza packed his things, it was a shock to him that he would follow him. He thought he would make it very clear what the chances were. More of a grumble than actually talking his strong pirate accent was still in full effect "Ye might even die on dis here trip, Meself promises ye no protection against what ye might find out der. Eiji," He makes a small motion to himself by pointing his thumb at his chest "Plans to find out what I shoulda been fightin fer all dis time." With that point across he threw his bag to the the area that Kaguza pointed at. He was not sure when he would be back and he doubted that someone would come and raid this shack for some reason. He was hoping that the Kage would understand and just leave everything here.

Eiji stretched as Kaguza packed the last of his things. He knew that it would not take to long to get out of the area, and the first place that they would reach would be the land of fire. Eiji had no intention of visiting Konoha, just for the fact he knew that other ninjas were there and he was trying to avoid all of them. The boat of transport Eiji had set up was one of his old pirate friends who went good like him, and that ship was leaving at dawn. Eiji gave a small smile at Kaguza when he motioned that he was ready to go. Lifting two fingers on his left hand he pointed in the motion that they would be heading in. Then slowly putting his hands on his hips in a heroic stance he took a deep breath, this would be the start of his own journey. He had no idea, no plan, just to go into the night until he found what he was looking for.

He bent down in a squatting position on last time. Before getting up and springing into a full sprint, there was no time to lose just in case people would take notice of him leaving. The rain around him started to blur and he could hear the heavy rain hitting the ground that he was running on. He stayed quiet for most of the trip until they got to the harbor. There stood a woman around the same age of Eiji. Smiling as he walked up to her he was greeted with a slap. He knew what it was for too, he did not even need to say anything afterwards. Looking at the small cargo ship that they would be riding he knew that their were lots of places to hide on a ship like this if anything went down. The woman spoke in a very calm voice "You make sure that we are not visited by our old friends and the toll will be free." Eiji nodded at her, free was good. He was not sure how long it would take for find what he was looking for.

He looked back at Kaguza and spoke softly something that was odd even for Eiji, he sounded like he was trying to shout with a whisper "Last chance to be headin home." That is all he said as he walked on the boat. As if it was a sign from above as soon as he got on the boat the rained slowed down and eventually came to a stop. Eiji could hear the sigh of relief come the captain of the boat. Eiji could hear the sigh of relief come the captain of the boat. it was time for his journey to start now.

Kaguza heard the pirate man talk about a chance of dieing, the thought that he had to go out of his way to warn him was touching. As smile came to his face after hearing it however, "I'm touched that your so worried about me, but no one ever kills the traveling drunk." Tossing his bag over his shoulder everything was set. It was likely the Anbu or other ninja would check out his home before someone else simply moved in, either everything of value for a ninja would be watched or moved into storage at the main building for safe keeping. A quick stretch before heading out, as he had just woken up. Being Eiji's idea it was likely he knew where they were going first, and probably didn't plan on walking.

Stepping outside, the sun was still below the horizon. A sense of anticipation sparked as he stood outside of his home, how long would it be before he came home? The question of making it home alive didn't arise, though he enjoyed fighting he always took note of fights he couldn't handle. Eiji in his usual showboating fashion pointed out the direction almost as if he was posing. The two jounin took a deep breath at the same time, the scene was similar to that of a race that was about to begin. Eiji taking a track start while Kaguza began bouncing in place, he knew they were going to run, it wouldn't be like either of them to take it slow. As if a gun had gone off the two ninja broke out into a full sprint. Their speed was worthy of their rank. As much as he'd like to try and beat the pirate to the destination, he had to fall back and follow. A silence sounded between the two during the casual jog.

The harbor appeared through the trees, a woman stood on the docks, seemingly waiting for them. It was clear the two knew each other upon approach as Eiji received a sharp slap to the face. Only a few thoughts of what he could have done to her in the past popped into his head, none of them appropriate. Wasting no time, he followed the woman on board the ship almost ignoring Eiji has he tried yelling. "I'm gonna cure that accent of yours, stands out too much." Such an answer was all he'd give. Kaguza had made up his mind back at home, and he wasn't one to change mid thought.

Eiji smiled at Kaguza, "Der be nuttin wrong with me accent." He walked slowly on the boat as if he was going to have a second thought. Eiji really wanted Sero to come out of no where and tell him to stop and this is a stupid idea. It was, the reaction of Kiri could be bad, but Eiji had fate that the Mizukage would be more understanding. At least Anbu has not come and tried to stop him no matter what. He did not want this to be messy but more like a vacation.

After getting on the boat Eiji felt ten times better than he usually did. He did not imagine how much he would miss being on a boat. The smell of water, and the now dawn that was slowly coming up was a great feeling. He was actually content of relaxing on the boat. Stretching his muscles so they would not cramp felt great. He went to the front of the boat and walked on the front. On the edge looking down into the water, the water vast blueness reminded him that he was just a small creature in a big world. It felt great, back flipping toward the captain he landed in front of her with his arm spread out.

"Ey!" He sang out "We gonna be movin this tub or what?" He said in a much happier voice. He went looking for Kaguza where ever he went as the boat made a sudden shift off the land and into the blue sea. As soon as Eiji found Kaguza he gave him a stupid dirt eating and grin and said "Oiy by da way, dey no be stoppin at where we be goin. We gonna have to swim to shore." He was used to this, it was a pretty basic maneuver in pirate life. Since Eiji lead the charge most of the time it was nothing new to him. Eiji felt a little naked without a sword, but he was sure nothing bad would happen to them. He started to jog in place as he started to get impatient waiting for the world to catch up to him.
