Break a Bridge : B-Rank:

A small boy walks on his way to the border of Kirigakure to cut off a dangerous route into the village. He was wondering if he would be able to succeed in his mission to one day become the Mizukage. However he figured everyone begins somewhere and he could not afford to be caught off guard at any point in time.

The wind began to blow through his hair as usual almost as if it did so on purpose. The boy rubbing his hand softly through his own hair as he thought about the people who left him behind. His mother who died giving birth to him, his father who died in a mission without ever meeting him, his grandmother who raised him and his best friend Uchiha Tora. He did find someone new to cherish, someone who did not really care about herself, Kamikira Shiru. He looked on wondering where she was now, did she survive and was she even still alive?

As he walked he did not get as tired as he used to, he was growing stronger from this war and it became apparent that things were about to change. He had his sword on his back, dripping with blood as he never had time to clean it after his last mission. He felt like he was being watched as he made his way to the destination only to find that someone had been following him all this time as he looked back then spoke. "Who are you and why are you following me". The man with his beard and unkempt messy hair looked at the kid with a glare. He then got down on both his knees and bowed his head before him. "Please save us, my children, my family and all our people have been taken hostage. We heard you would be coming and i know your mission is to destroy the bridge but could you find time to save our people as well". The man began crying as Ren just looked at him then finally said to the man. " Do not worry, I will deal with all of them ". As he finally drew his sword as he spoke to the man again. "How far is it?". The man struggled to his feet and pointed to the location. " It is over there ". The man was parched as Ren did not notice the first time due to the beard but the man must not have drank any water for some time and was looking almost sickly. As he turned around he went towards the location where he saw a long bridge. It was unbelievable the bridge was a quarter of the way done already. He noticed some people slaving away as he looked down at it from the high ground. He started making his plan as he noticed the man had followed him all the way here. The man reached out to him when he finally said to the old man. " If you were planning to kill me, you should have all came for me at once"

The man was actually one of the mercenaries as he drew his sword to cut down Ren, he was matched by a block of Ren's blade Tsubakiri. The old man smiled then changed stances before swinging a hard blow nearly knocking Ren off the edge since his high ground was like a cliff. As Ren noticed his footing the man took that opening to aim a slash for Ren's head, he ducked under then slashed upwards as the old man's armor got cut somewhat leaving a small opening by his chest. The old man then began to attack repeatedly as Ren struck back with force in order not to be knocked off the cliff, some of the mercenaries noticed as they began running to points where they could go up. It was fortunate that these men did not know how to run up the cliff like shinobi can.

Not wishing to waste too much time he used his speed to try and land a slash on the open spot but the man experienced as he was dodged to the side and sliced downwards at Ren who luckily managed to pin his sword in the ground as a pivot to swing around out of then coming back around kicked the man in the face as he neared the edge of the cliff. Ren then began to form seals with that brief pause as he used the hidden mist technique. The others who were joining in stopped in their tracks as they could not strike in the mist without any vision. The old man laughed as he kept his eyes focused, while he could not see in the mist he could not let his guard down as he knew that the kid was roughly on the same level of skill that he was. The man began swinging the sword as Ren managed to block it having already activated his clan technique Kiri Shiryoku to allow him to see the man perfectly. He could not find an opening even in this mist, anything other than a sure kill would just give away his location.

As he stood there he looked on and noticed there were about five men and he was sure he counted seven meaning two of them were probably ensuring the bridge operations remained underway. As he then performed more seals he let loose two water clones who unfortunately could not see in the mist but received his orders to make preparations near the edge of the mist.

It was at this time that Ren took a deep breathe before getting in stance. The old man stood there with a bad feeling as he wondered what was going on. The man began to walk deeper into the mist as he could not wait he knew the kid had something planned. As the man dashed forward with a thrust he was hoping to make a hit or atleast have a chance to swing after. The kid swung his blade as his sword nearly broke on impact as the man felt his sword knocked all the way off the cliff as the mist cleared for a moment where Ren was standing as the man's body was cut from his foot all the way to his shoulder on the opposite end. Ren then said the name of his technique. "Mizukiri" as the mist began closing in the men got shocked as they then went crazy and began throwing C-rank explosives into the mist. Seeing this Ren and his clones jumped off the cliff as the explosions knocked the mist away however part of the cliff began collapsing as one of the men fell and was killed in the fall.

As Ren reached the ground falling like some legendary samurai as his two clones fell facing his right and left as he then looked and spotted the two that had been waiting at the bottom. The two of them had axes as his clones charged the men tried to cut the clones but were countered as three vs two was no contest. The men were confused as Ren cut them both down as even some of the builders helped out as they were now captured. He had taken care of four of the mercenaries it was time to deal with the last four which may be really easy he thought to himself.

As the four of them came running down he stood and pointed his blade at them as he then finally said. "Do you want to end up like your friends" Two of them hesitated as the other two in the front then got caught in a water prison each as Ren dashed for the two hesitant mercenaries as the one ran away attempting to escape as he cut the other one across the chest as he fell to the ground. He dashed after the escapee who was running for his life, he did not want to play anymore games he had a mission to complete. He jumped as he managed to land on the man's back then knocked him out with the back of the blade.

The builders began helping him out by tying up the survivors to be taken back to Kirigakure for interrogation. Meanwhile Ren stayed behind for a while to make sure the bridge got dismantled as he issued orders to the builders. Occasionally when he recovered he would unleash his sword technique in order to destroy some of the foundations of the bridge as Mizukiri allowed him to get the water out of the way for a moment so they could finish off the bridges legs.

As the builders thanked him by giving him some food as well as a place to stay the night. He made sure to let one water clone watch over him at night as he did not fully trust these people. He was sure this was not the first time builders were held hostage and it was almost annoying how often it happened. He slept well as the water clone barely managed to maintain itself as he slept.
