1 Break a Bridge [B-Rank Mission] Mon Apr 17, 2017 1:08 am

Somewhere outside the village, yet another unnecessary structure has been made as an addition to the village's border. It was a wonder why the builders of the country made an effort to add so many of them. To some, it could be seen as a window for opportunity. But, for who? The shady individuals entering into the Land of Water? Of course, not all of them were shady. There were quite a few who actually saw Kirigakure as the place to be. They were the ones who wanted to make a living- a sincere living. But, as for the others who obviously caused problems, Teru was dumbfounded. She believed that only a few bridges were ever needed. It would be less of a hassle to keep track of. There was a smaller window for potential dangers. Well, they were capable of getting in through other means, but fewer bridges would still do something beneficial. It was apparent that the village heads thought in the same way...
Some time ago, Teru Uchiha had been assigned a mission to where the latest bridge had been built. It was far off from the village, so she had to leave during the early morning to get there with daylight remaining. The Chuunin kunoichi had readied herself with her personal arsenal of weapons and jutsu before heading out to a location approaching the village's border with the Land of Blood. Burn it down, break it down. There were very many choices for Teru to choose from. Either way, she was going to venture out and get the job done. The bridge would be destroyed and the builders would be berated for their incompetence. No, she had no intentions of killing the hardworking men. They were simply doing their jobs. Although, it was unneeded and got in the way. She would pressure them to go elsewhere. Surely there was a greater need for homes and other businesses in the village. Who in the world had a desire to have another dozen of bridges? It was quite puzzling.
The bridge was not too far ahead from her current position. Her quiet eyes could spot the bridge builders working on it, and there was at least half a dozen of them hammering down on nails. Teru walked along the path leading to the southern entrance to the bridge and stopped. She cringed and wrinkled her nose for a moment. The bridge was unlike any other. It was hideous and bold. The colors on it were not the matching kind. In a way, it brought shame to the village just by standing there. Teru shook her head and returned to her former expression. Calm and ready to do business. It would have been easy for her, however, if it was a relaxed mission where she could simply converse with the builders to convince them to take down the bridge with some explosives. But, no, it was not going to be like that. They had seen her coming, but there was no presence of joy in their eyes. The men who wore tool belts had looks on their faces that told Teru how much they detested her being there. It was clear to her now. These men knew that she was a village ninja who had come to dismiss their work.
None of the men moved away from their posts. Rather, they continued to work on the bridge's foundation to allow for it to stand stronger than any other bridge out there in the land. The crash of hammers on nails. The sound of saws cutting into wood. All of these noises flooded Teru's ears. Normally, none of that would bother her so easily. She understood what construction was, and she appreciated it that there was something new coming into existence. But, right now, she was concerned that they were making it harder for Kirigakure to go about good business. She thought these people would have understood that the work was not as productive as they had hoped. Sure, it consumed supplies and required great time, but there was nothing of benefit in the long run. "Okay, I see you aren't going to give me an easy time," Teru mumbled, and sighed to herself. She was a bit frustrated on the inside, but got the message. It was time to get through to the bridge builders with a more pressuring hand.
"Hold it right there, brat," a brute's voice called out to her, ordering for her to stay where she was. The timing was incredibly terrible, as she was just about to put a stop to the building, which was still processing. Teru rolled her neck and peered over her shoulder at the other group of men who interrupted her. She sighed and blinked her eyes once. This was not exactly how she wanted it to go, but it was nothing too surprising. Time and time again, these ignorant builders made sure to get back on their feet with the aid of a freelancing force. Mercenaries who made a living making it hard for ninjas to do their jobs. Teru got a good look at these mercenaries. There were, in total, eight of them. In addition to their disadvantageous numbers, they were armed with an equal amount of weapons. She was outnumbered and in a situation that was nothing to be pleased about. They were strong looking, too. "You think we're going to let you break that bridge? You lousy ninjas are too predictable! How about you get lost and tell your friends that you aren't allowed around these parts?"
A poor attempt at an insult, she thought. They were not all that good with putting up tough words. Teru made no move towards the bridge yet, but she turned on her heels to face the mercenaries. Greater in number, perhaps, but she had the quality of a stronger fighter. This was not a situation that would require her to activate the Sharingan. It annoyed her to find that it was an addicting technique. So, this time, she would burn them where they stood and get on with what she had gone there to do. Doubting not in her own abilities, Teru formed the hand signs for a fire jutsu. "It'd be best if you all got out of my way. Now," Teru said to the mercenaries. Naturally, they scoffed and showed no interest in doing as she said. So, she was going to push them back in a more forceful manner. Teru breathed in the deepest of breaths; she was aiming for the center of the group. With one jutsu, she would see to it that those few men burned to death. The way of fire would consume them, being justified as the flames scorched their flesh.
Unleashing a great fireball upon the group, Teru began her onslaught. She did not only use her jutsu, but Teru also sprayed the mercenaries with some kunai knives. Puncture wounds, burn marks. All of them were being injured to the point that death was nearing. It was a shame, but a couple of them did break through and pull off a stunt that left Teru with a bruised shoulder, and she had a cut running down the side of her left leg. She would live, however, but not the majority of the enemy. Panting a bit, Teru gave them an innocent giggle that hid a mocking personality. "I did warn you guys," was all she said before she turned her back on them. Now facing the bridge and its builders, Teru let out one more sigh before closing in on the intended target. Finally, she would be able to destroy the pitiful bridge and return home to recover for the day. She waved to the bridge builders with her uninjured arm. A warning to them, too. "You all had better get out of the way! The bridge is coming down."
"No! Run!" one of the head builders shouted out to the other men as Teru performed another set of hand signs. This time, it was of the earth element. Like a bomb had gone off, the bridge was struck all over its body by multiple mud bombs. The impact made the entire bridge quake and cave in at the middle point. To those who had dedicated their lives to constructing it, the sight was a nightmarish reality. But, to those on the side of Teru, the one who had put her Doton jutsu to use in destroying it, the sight was a small glory. No longer would this bridge be in commission. Another job was done, so now it was time to return to the village with a report of this success. While they would be preparing a time to rebuild, there would be another time Teru would arrive to put an end to the constructions. On another note, it was rather amusing seeing them scramble about. May they think back to this day and remember that what they do is foolish...
