Please remember that sending me a PM asking me to mod your clan, or talking to me via Skype or otherwise, will not do anything if it is not posted here. Likewise, doing so will not get it done any faster even if you do post here.

Since the Clan Guideline is mostly a self-explanatory template, here are some tips for clan creation and a rundown of my basic modding procedures.

• I do not require an extensive amount of history for clans that do not possess an Advanced Element or Dōjutsu; I simply like to see the founding of the clan (if applicable) as well as how they developed any Kekkei Genkai or Hiden they possess.

• Feel free to do as you please with your history, as long or short as would cover the basics. My main stipulation, however, is to keep descending from the supernatural to a minimum. Demi-godhood, wibbly-wobbly/timey-wimey, or anything similar is unnecessary; in generality, it is also wholly unrealistic given your rough end equivalence to any other ninja, power-level-wise. Both including that, and in general, please just keep it realistic within our setting.

• For most people, thinking up a Kekkei Genkai is not difficult. However, be sure to peruse the Clan Directory sticky in the general Clan section, or just ask around in the chatbox; one or the other should be able to tell you whether your Kekkei Genkai/Hiden has already been done, as we don't condone overt (if unintentional) copies of clan abilities. There's ‘wiggle room’ here if the existing clan is all but defunct.

• If you want a Special Characteristic as a drawback, you cannot balance it as normal with a positive one. If you would like a custom SC, please use the template in the Custom Special Characteristics sticky in the Character section.

• Remember that the inability to use, or hindrances to the use of, specializations or elements largely do not count as clan drawbacks, due to the creator’s, or the entire clan’s, general lack of interest in the specs/elements that were disallowed or debuffed. The “Hesitant” negative SCs are the main exception here.

• It is my personal preference that you first think about your clan's history and Kekkei Genkai/Hiden when thinking about your benefits and, more importantly, your drawbacks. I look over drawbacks with stringency similar to the preceding bullet; if major drawbacks don't apply, or are/become irrelevant, they will be addressed as such. Even if it's "technically balanced" in the writeup in regards to drawback/advantage ratio, if it's not balanced in practice, the clan won't be approved.

• Do recall that we've removed clan jutsu from clans for a reason. While I'm fine with some chakra-based abilities on clans, please try to keep them away from being what essentially is a jutsu crammed inside the KKG description. You're free to detail unique kinds of jutsu that your Kekkei Genkai or Hiden affords, of course.

• Please keep in mind that my first priority is balance, one way or the other. As much as I want you to be able to play what you like here on Saga, sometimes I just don't have suggestions as to how to make your idea workable and fair. That being said, the flipside is that I'll tell you when your clan is actually proverbially 'gimping' you, so we won't have any regrets.

• Do note that in order to revamp any clan, you must have the creator's permission if it is not yours. If no creator is present to give permission, you must obtain clearance from an Administrator. Exceptions may be made for revamps of clans in serious need of such.

• Last but not least, formatting! If you've got a lot going on with your Kekkei Genkai, please break up those bigger paragraphs with Spoiler, List, and/or Horizontal Rule codes! It makes it easier for me to mod, and easier for people to read through once you're approved.
