Ryo, to his own surprise, managed to make it past his first round. Now was the start of his second step on the path to greatness. He had the goal to prove himself to Tobetsu, the current Zenith at the Diamond Heights University in Ryo’s home village. The simple promise made by the powerful man was enough to motivate Ryo to start his climb. Ryo needed to prove himself to his new mentor, and if succeeded, he would immediately begin his lessons in the mysterious subject of Jinton Release. He thought of Kejido and Aikiko, two of his peers who ran ahead of Ryo of the shinobi highway. He was weak while his friends were getting stronger. They were moving ahead, and Ryo was frozen in place. Ryo needed to prove himself so he could break out of the cage he built around himself, and what better way was there to do that than get the first place trophy at the famous Chuunin Exams? He was determined to rise above those around and become one of the greats, and if possible, the next Zenith.
Ryo’s first round was easy, to say the least. He made one move against his opponent and won the fight by a large margin. This would be expected to impress fellow participants and spectators, but it did anything but that. In his first fight, he decided to use a jutsu that he was entirely unfamiliar with. Sure, he used it on training dummies in preparation for the fight, but he never saw the effects it had on another person until it was too late. He trapped his opponent, Xiao, in a fiery prison that burnt him so much that his costume and mask disappeared, making his face hideously scarred in the process. If that was not enough, the insurmountable pain that the boy felt made him stumble into the growing hole in the center of the arena. Sure he just committed murder, Ryo was in shock for the next few days. During this time, he argued with himself constantly, trying to decide if he should move on or not after committing something so shameful. In the end, he decided to continue his effort to climb, realizing that his opponent’s death would mean nothing if he stopped now.
And so, Ryo was facing the doors that would open and reveal his next opponent and arena in a matter of minutes. He was dressed in the same thing he wore in his last match: a white short-sleeved button-up and black slacks, along with the necessary pouches to carry his ninja tools. He was ready for whatever was beyond the doors, determined to win the match that was about to begin. The first arena had a clear gimmick that participants had to overcome, and Ryo expected nothing less from this one. The proctors that were around him stayed silent, not revealing anything about what was to come. That was until minutes later when the proctors gave him simple instructions. ”Don’t touch the ground or you’re disqualified.” Immediately after these words were spoken, the doors opened up and hands pushed Ryo out into the arena and the doors shut behind him.
The surface he stepped on was the flat top of a simple 1.6 meter wide, 4-meter long, and 3-meter tall train car. There were several of this exact car in the arena, lined up to be adjacent to one another. There were several tracks within the arena, all of which were parallel from the entry doors. Each track had about three cars on it which had a five-meter gap in between them, all of which were still. The announcer’s voice tuned in, introducing Ryo and his opponent before giving a three-second countdown. As soon as the word ‘go!’ was spoken, the train cars sparked to life. The cars on the track that Ryo was currently on moved to the left and the one in front of him moved to the right. This pattern continued all the way to the doors on the other side of the arena. One the walls to the left and right, there were several tunnels that lined up with the tracks, and once a train went through, another train came out at the opposite side. Were they really going to fight on moving trains?
Ryo assumed that the tunnels along the sides also counted as the boundaries, which meant that he could not ride a train through them. This meant that he had to jump from train to train through the fight. He managed to jump five tracks ahead of where he started, ending up on a train car that was moving to the right. He suddenly had an idea, which he, after little thought, decided was good enough to act on. He quickly formed a series of hand seals. Upon finishing, a two meter by two meter square from the earth rose up three meters in front of the train car Ryo was standing on. This not only completely ruined the track but also caused the train car Ryo was on to immediately stop one it the new wall. This sudden stop caused the train moving behind the one Ryo was on to also stop, along with the one behind that one. The row of trains Ryo was on was now completely still, making a 1.6 meter wide and 12-meter wide platform for him to stand on. Now, he did not have to worry about jumping trains, and could just wait as his opponent approached him.

Description: This technique can be cast either by slamming the ground with one's hand or by performing the hand seal sequence Snake -> Dog -> Ram. This technique allows the user to raise or lower the elevation of ground in a selected area. By the user's choosing, the earth is lowered or raised linearly so it appears as pillars if raising an area or the lowered area is seemingly enclosed by walls. The area chosen can be square or circular. The ground raises at a rate of 15m/s, moving fast enough to toss those unprepared off of their guard but not fast enough to be swept out from under their feet. The elevation can be changed by up to 15m. Earth raised by this technique can serve as a makeshift defense against one jutsu of equal rank. Any further jutsu hitting it will cause it to collapse.
