「”F-Fuyuko! Wait-- waitwaitwait!” Takao pleaded in panic, feeling the warmth of Fuyuko’s hand. slip from his own as she pulled away and strut closer to the demonic gaggle of hellspawn. Takao watched, frozen in fear, as the love of his life brazenly approached that which struck such incapacitating terror in him. He was shaken to the bone, trembling in place as she began to fearlessly pet the goose that stood at the helm of his flock. Takao forced his body to move despite the overwhelming presence of fear; he would not allow her to be harmed by the feathered evil incarnate. Then its gaze narrowed and struck a new tremour of horror down his spine, halting his body as though his muscles were frozen to the bone. He grit his teeth and took another reluctant step forward as she picked him up and brought him closer. Their eyes were locked, Takao’s furrowed and the comparatively small Goose’s stoic and cold, as Fuyuko held it out. He hesitated to move at first, but ultimately decided to put his faith and trust in Fuyuko. Takao’s hand rose slowly and disinclined, closing in on the Goose, until its beak parted and made him pause. “Suǒyǐ mìngyùn zàicì yuèguòle wǒmen de dàolù, yèzi de rěnzhě. Wǒ hé wǒ de xiōngdìmen děngdàizhuó zhège yóu shénshèng de yìzhì chóng jù de dōngxī, yǐbiàn wǒmen kěyǐ yīláoyǒngyì de xiūxí wǒmen de zhēngchǎo. Qǐng fàngxīn, nǐ de nǚrén bù huì shòudào rènhé shānghài, tāmen shì wúgū de. Xiànzài, suīrán wǒ chuántǒng shàng yǔnxǔ nǐ wéi zhàndòu zuò zhǔnbèi…” Aradō said, the articulate depth of his voice carried through the air with prominence and force. No longer than an instant had passed before he disappeared from Fuyuko’s grasp, moving at such speeds that Takao himself as trouble following his path to the opposite edge of the bridge. The raven-haired shinobi’s gaze snapped to the right as his stance widened in preparation, black eyes widening like dinner plates when the winged creature began to flawlessly weave hand seals. “Nǐ yǐjīng sǐle.” A shrill ringing sound echoed across the bridge as a swirling column of water rose at Aradō’s back. Takao hardly had the time to whimper out the surprised yelp that caught in his throat before the torrent of water was thrust upon him. His form was overtaken by the massive vortex that slammed into him and shot him into the waters below, where he briefly disappeared beneath the surface. Within seconds, he surfaced with a gasp and quickly found his bearings. While coughing up the water forced into his lungs, Takao slowly climbed onto the surface of the water as though it were solid and returned his gaze to the bridge, where the visage of his assailant peered down upon him with mocked commiseration. “Qīng shān.” Said the goose as he formed yet another hand seal. Chakra built in his goose-lungs was exhaled as bullets of water at Takao; one connected with his shoulder and knocked him from his feet while he managed to dodge the second on the ground, rolling to the side as he whined out a throaty exhale of pain. “See! I’m not crazy, nobody ever believes me! These things are terrifying!” Takao yelled at he hastily clambered to his feet. He took off toward the bridge with the hope of grabbing Fuyuko and running, but was forced into a skidding stop as Aradō leapt from his perch atop the bridge and landed on the water’s surface, weaving hand seals as fast as Takao could perceive them. The water between them began to shift and rose in the form of a dragon that took off in Takao’s direction like a jet. Had the raven-haired shinobi not utilized the jets of Burning Ambition to speed his movements, the dragon made from water may have slammed into him, yet he was able to evade and land with a stone-crushing thud on the side of the bridge. His heart still racing, Takao ran to Fuyuko and grabbed her hand. “We’re leaving now!” He proclaimed before hastily leading her toward the other end of the bridge, grimacing heavily as they passed by the other geese who each shared equally menacing gazes as Aradō himself. Once they were safely on the other side of the bridge, Takao’s pace slowed into an exhausted walk, and the trembling of his hand in Fuyuko’s gradually faded. “Please don’t make me pet them again.”」 |
