Jihi

Jihi

D-rank
...It had been an interesting few weeks…

To say that the past few weeks hadn’t been interesting was much of an understatement: Jihi had realized very quickly that, despite her plot for vengeance and the burning desire to train and see the deaths of all of those who had caused her harm or had a hand in it in some way come to fruition, she had a lot of healing left to do. Her lust for revenge could only sustain her and carry her so far. She had still found herself being plagued by nightmares of her horrid past, or waking up thinking that she was still there. Many nights she had simply not slept at all as she feared that if she closed her eyes she would open them to find that her escape had been nothing more than a very vivid dream, fearful she would once again find herself back in that horrible house a slave yet again. No, Jihi found that when she wasn’t actively training or killing something the demons in her head, the ones she pretended to have such perfect control of, became far too loud to ignore. They were monsters scarier than any Boogeyman, scarier than anything that might lurk under the bed threatening to pull her under: but that was because they were real, they were solid, they were monsters and evils she had faced in the past, and the brand on her flesh was more than enough proof that those things were as real as her very self.

...It wasn’t all bad, he was helping her heal after all, and in more than just the physical sense…

Of course, life wasn’t all bad, it wasn’t all doom and gloom: Simikiel made sure of that. Of the one constant person in her life, the one person she trusted with the very life she lived, he was it. He was her rock, her foundation. When she felt like she was breaking she knew she could reach out and he would help, that he would understand. They didn’t need to speak words during those moments behind closed doors to understand one another, they had both lived in that hell, they both knew the scars both emotional and mental that they had left. They both had the demons and monsters lurking in their skulls and minds. When he wasn’t helping her to cope with the darkness that had already so nearly consumed her he was reminding her to live, to not dwell in the past. He knew the path she walked, but instead of steering her from it he simply enhanced it. Which was precisely why she was walking out of the front door of the apartment they shared with several scrolls hidden on her person filled with her various equipment, weapons, spare clothing and other necessities needed when traveling: they were headed to Konohagakure for a bit.

...Training and having fun? We’ll see…

The trip wasn’t exactly needed yet, Jihi knew that she still had more to learn within the very village of Kirigakure after all: a lot more growing to do. Yet, it was a change of scenery, a way to escape from the monsters within her mind, a different land entirely full of hopefully fun and adventure. It would be a chance for her, and Simikiel, to grow in more than just strength and power. It would be an escape from the world they knew, a chance to glimpse one they didn’t. A new experience, a fresh one, that both of them so desperately needed.

This was precisely why, as she locked the door behind them despite the belief that locks only keep honest people out, she had a small smile on her face. After brushing back her short and choppy white hair from her eyes she headed down the steps and out the front door of the apartment building the pair resided in - knowing as she did so that her best friend would not be far behind.

...Let us hope for a good and peaceful trip…

Despite Jihi being armed to the teeth - something she prefered when traveling, within her own village, or even within her own home really - she found no use at all for her weapons during the journey. It was a calm and peaceful trip, full of nothing more than calm and content chatter between herself and her best friend, stopping only when necessary which allowed them to make good time despite their moderate and comfortable pace. So, it was without incident that the pair arrived at the gates of Konohagakure, Jihi more than curious as to what sort of adventures they would get up to while they were here, and what sort of growth and learning would occur.
