Keiko
D-rank
A frown marred her features. Unpleasant facial expressions weren’t uncommon on her face, but certainly a rare sight to see for the past few days. Kitahara Keiko was drunk. She couldn’t remember the last time she had gotten this wasted (maybe never), but she also couldn’t remember a lot of things right at this moment. Like how many drinks she had consumed. And what time it was, despite having glanced at the clock just seconds ago. Or the number of times the pub employees had tried to subtly tell them that it was past closing time, and that it was time to leave, before they eventually walked Keiko to the door with her companion. The frown was a reaction to her physical state. She couldn’t quite figure out why her legs felt so rubbery, almost as though they were foreign appendages attached to her body. That comical thought forced a giggle out of her, just as she stumbled and bumped into the person next to her.
Speaking of her companion … Keiko ran her fingers through her hair to push the loose strands out of her face, turning to look at her oh-so-attractive accomplice for the night. They had matched each other drink for drink for a while, but somewhere along the way, Keiko was certain that the pub had cut her off and swapped out drinks for virgin ones instead – but she was too far gone to really bring it up. Seeing as it appeared to be a reputable establishment, they likely wouldn’t charge the non-alcoholic drinks improperly. At some point, continuing with her “birthday gifts” to Seiryū – as she had agreed to kiss him after every drink they took together – the two were simply drunkenly making out, quite inappropriate for a public area, but in the late hours of the night, the pub was nearly cleared out. Eventually, they were escorted out the door. Escorted was a nice word – some would say they were kicked out. A giggling Keiko would be grabbing onto Seiryū’s arm for support as they walked out onto the streets, the kunoichi a little unstable. By then, it was likely just past midnight – not particularly late, but that meant that they had spent quite a few good hours in the pub.
The cool night air blew into Keiko’s face, reminding her that Sunagakure wasn’t just all unbearable heat and dust. Once the sun set in the evening, the air temperature would drop quite significantly, enough to be described as a chill by most. Not that it really affected her, it simply worked well as a good refreshing feeling, rousing her slightly from her dazed, woozy state of mind. Keiko would cling tighter to Seiryū’s left arm, looking up at him to take in what state he was in. Where would they go now? Would they part ways? She certainly didn’t want to – but that might just be the alcohol talking. What could she say? Where could they go? She already knew where she wanted to go, and that was exactly what her mind had tried to warn her about sometime during the night.
“So … where to, Seiryū?” Somehow along the night, she had dropped all honorifics, despite the fact that he was likely older than her. … Hm, that was another thought. Although she found out that today was his birthday, she had no idea exactly how old he was. But her head was all rolled up in a cloud, and that concern was temporarily pushed aside, something she seemed to be doing a lot tonight. “Shall we go find some privacy?” She was being ridiculously forward tonight. Even prior to consuming alcohol, so she couldn’t even use that as an excuse. It was strangely out of character, but at the same time, she didn’t particularly care, because Seiryū was responding and initiating just the same. Maybe he would agree, let her dive deeper into his life by allowing her to visit the place in which he resided. It didn’t seem as though he was keen on revealing much about himself, and he never tried to pry into her life either, but Keiko was hungry for more information. … Along with other things.
