Mission File - Bad-Mouth:

The moment he saw the mission on the mission board, Seiryū knew that it would be something he could easily accomplish with little to nothing actually being able to interfere with his success for the mission itself. The description of the man, his target, was simple, as he had no true shinobi skills and Seiryū needed to complete the mission without anyone seeing him at all. The only known skill that this Hanashi Warui possessed was with the sword, thus needing to get in close range to do anything truly effective, the only form of a threat that Seiryū could possibly see as a detriment to accomplishing the mission faster than he thought at first.. That, in itself would prove simple just to the base kit of his own skills and what Seiryū utilized as his primary tools for offense. Considering this was his first mission he’d be taking as a chuunin and a solo one at that, Seiryū knew that it wouldn’t be as simple as the menial tasks he accomplished when he was but a genin. More than one individual would likely make the mission a bit more complicated, as it was a single assassination of a lone target, if there were more than he supposed more assistance would be helpful, but in this case, he alone would likely be enough to settle this rising issue of a coup d’etat in the small village a day away from Sunagakure no Sato.

The time between his chuunin promotion and this particular mission he signed up for was far too long. All the days, hours, minutes, and seconds in between these two particular events were clouded with memories of his time away from the village, the time that he spent in Kumogakure no Sato mainly to watch the exams. Time had simply shown Seiryū that he milled about for far too long and that his time away from Suna was far from productive. Sure he met individuals he would likely never forget, but crossing paths with any of them in the near future was unlikely. His trip contained a few mishaps, misunderstandings, and perhaps… regrets, but there was nothing to be done now that could change any of that. Instead, the chuunin could only move forward and attempt to progress as a shinobi, throwing away all other thoughts in hopes to keep his mind clear and retain his grasp on life.

Making sure he had gathered everything he required, a quiver full of arrows, his bow strapped to his back, and his other various projectiles, Seiryū stood at the gate to the village, knowing that the journey would take a day or two. He hadn’t even been home for more than twenty-four hours before the restlessness kicked in again. Seiryū found he couldn’t simply relax upon returning home, he couldn’t sit still and do nothing while so much preoccupied his mind at the same time. It wasn’t too difficult to conclude what would be the best method in order to move his mind away from thoughts that had no significant importance in Sunagakure no Sato and that was to go on a mission. Not just a simple mission, but one that would involve some sense of danger. Taking lives came with the duty of being a shinobi, yet there always was a reason behind having assassination targets. It truly wasn’t his concern to question it, but the questions would linger for moments before they’d eventually fade back into obscurity. With a hand pushing his hair back, Seiryū stepped forward, making his way out of the village gates and into the vast expanse of desert that the Wind Country was known for.

The time he spent travelling was comparable to the time he spent travelling back home to Sunagakure no Sato from Kumogakure no Sato. Alone, with the only other sound around him being the gusts of wind carrying grains of sand, there was far too much time for Seiryū to get lost in his thoughts, endlessly circling around the very same ideas he was trying to rid himself of. Trying to remove these plaguing thoughts by focusing at the task at hand, Seiryū knew full well that it was beneficial for him to focus on his mission, for any distractions could potentially cost him the chance to finish this mission quietly and quickly. His target wasn’t anyone specialized at long-range combat, thus it would be simple for Seiryū to pick him off from a distance, cripple him even, gain some information, before ultimately ending the life of the man. Of course, that was considering that everything went according to how Seiryū wished it to.

The scenery around Seiryū had only changed slightly, for it was no longer entirely desert compared to the immediate surroundings around Sunagakure no Sato. Sand was still present, though various rocks were scattered about, indicating the smallest of changes in the environment around him. No longer were the elevated surfaces solely dictated by sand, but hardened stone that showed varying platforms, easily allowing Seiryū to find a vantage point to pin down his target. Seiryū had been travelling less than under a day, and he knew he was approaching the village in which Warui Hanashi had decided to set up base in – the village in which he was plotting a rebellion, not only against the small village, but potentially against Sunagakure no Sato itself. While the threat wouldn’t be an immediate concern for a military state compared to the limited numbers, likely at the disposal of Hanashi, it was best to cut off the head before it could grow further. Eliminating him now would let whatever allies he had back away from any form of rebellion, for they’d need to restrategize without their leader. The problem of rebellions was never stopped, but it was best to keep them down before they could even get a breath of air.

There would be no climbing involved, as Seiryū would be able to navigate himself up in to a higher position, though the route he would need to take would be more specific than simply trekking up with the usage of chakra. Picking up speed from his lulled pace, his right arm reached back to grab his bow, pulling it and then bringing it to his side, prepped for any possible encounter that could occur. The moment Seiryū saw something, he wouldn’t hesitate to fire a shot, yet the chances if Hanashi being up here were rather slim.

The sun was still fully visible in the sky, indicating there was at least an hour before the sun would set and night would fall upon Kaze no Kuni. Seiryū had yet to see Hanashi from his current vantage point, placing him five meters above the ground level of the village he was current staking out. Hanashi would be noticeable with his katana and the rough description that Seiryū had received upon accepting the mission dossier. One of Hanashi’s noticeable features was his bald head and a tattoo upon the top of his head, some tribal symbols, though that specific detail was unimportant. The fact that he had a tattoo on his head would easily give away Seiryū’s target.

“I’m going out for a walk to clear my head. Make sure we have enough…. equipment.”

That was the first words that Seiryū heard that could provide him some information. Peaking over the edge of the cliff, Seiryū looked in the direction from where the voice came, noticing the tattoos which easily gave away his target. Quickly grabbing his bow from the ground, Seiryū stood up from his resting position, stalking Hanashi from his current position. The hand not holding his bow, reached back to his quiver to draw out an arrow. Resting the arrow on the bow, such that it would be a simple task of drawing it back and releasing the arrow to kill his target, Seiryū was prepared to kill Hanashi the moment he left the small civilization that resided in this village.

Seiryū followed Hanashi for a few minutes, trailing far behind on an elevated surface, but well within distance that Seiryū could easily pick him off at a moment’s notice. All he was waiting for was Hanashi to be a bit further out the Seiryū could strike him in the spine, such that it would induce some form of temporary paralysis by striking a few select nerves. It wasn’t solely having to kill him, but also disposing the body, thus why he needed Hanashi to be further away from the village. Once he was sure, the motion of aiming his bow, drawing back the arrow, steadying the bow and releasing the arrow was done fluidly, spanning only a few seconds such that Hanashi wouldn’t be able to hear anything until it would be far too late.

All he saw seconds later was the arrow poking out of the man, who was now seemingly turning around to see where the arrow came from. Without a second thought, Seiryū reached for his quiver to pull out another arrow, this one aimed for the jugular. The arrow didn’t hit the exact spot Seiryū was aiming for, but it certainly stopped the man from being able to move from the immediate pain he would be in. Calmly, Seiryū began walking towards Hanashi who was now slowly dying, currently in the middle of nowhere with the village he came from being at least ten minutes away. “It was going to happen sooner or later.” Seiryū stated, his free hand reaching in to his pocket for his kunai. Immediately, Seiryū would aim for the jugular and take an immediate stab at it. He took another few minutes, staring down at the fallen body, taking note of the blank eyes, the blood covering his chest, and the apparent tattoo on his head. He’d have to find a place to place the body, perhaps having to bury it, but he had more than enough time to do that now.
