Clan History: Initiating Martial Law for the entire village was not an easy to do job for the Tsuchikage, especially when the village at hand is one of the largest in the shinobi world. Dengen decided to activate a project that has been archived in the Iwagakure libraries for over one-hundred years. The project was simple it revolved around creating a special forces team that use a secret technique that is believed to have been developed by the Konoha ROOT organization or at least perfected, the technique is called the Super Beast Imitating Drawing. Iwagakure took a major interest in the Konoha shinobi who possessed the technique thus Iwagakures very own secret organization, Division, took it upon themselves to try and duplicate the jutsu. The duplicated version of the technique as well as the Special Forces Team that goes with it was created to protect the village. Of course the project was not completed and above all else it never got to see the light of day. It was a long time after the project was buried that an ancestor, a grandchild of one of the Scientist in charge of creating a system for the project, came to Dengen with a detailed description to what the project is and where it could be found in the vast Iwagakure Library.

When Dengen found the scroll containing the information on the experiment the title read as this, “Project Tōhon.” Dengen noticed Project Tōhon was a more advanced and complicated version of the original Super Beast Imitating Drawing, and this was because the technique was focused on the development of the use of color in the drawings. Creating “Paintings” is what they called it and the color is meant to match the element affinity the user wishes to infuse the chakra ink with. The project goal was not only to create a Special Forces Team but Dengen noticed they were also trying to create a new race of people as the first step to their mission objective was to “gather all Villagers of Iwagakure who have been reported to having Photographic Memory.” The book goes on to say that those gathered must be trained profusely how to draw and better yet paint. After they learn how to paint is when they will be given the chance to become shinobis but not before first learning to infuse their chakra with their ink.

The Rokudaime Tsuchikage went on with the idealism of the Iwagakure of old but instead of activating the project with the mask of a Special Forces Operation, Dengen used it to create the Tōhon Clan. The clan is meant to be a clan of soldiers thus all members have the ability to make their art a reality and all clan members have the special characteristic of having an eidetic memory. The clan member will be known to go through harsh training in their youth when it comes to mastering their genius, their mind. When they reach a certain age, when their “guardian” believes they are ready, the clan member will learn how to draw and then paint. Soon after the drawing and painting faze the clan member will learn to infuse chakra with ink and thus turn their painting into a reality. Although the project does not “run” with it being under the mask of a Special Forces Unit the Tsuchikage still reserve members of this clan spots in the military and ANBU because of their diversity in techniques and their genius in mind.


Kekkei Genkai Description: The ninja uses chakra-infused ink to quickly draw an object onto a scroll and the moment the brush is removed, the image leaps from the paper, grows to it’s real life-size, and act according to the user's will and behave as the animal will. Because they are made of ink, a single blow is usually enough to dispel them. The clan can also create drawings with coloring in it. The colored characteristic of the technique is the clan’s ability to merge their chakra-ink with their elemental affinities. Few clans rival the Tōhon Clan ability in terms of versatility. The Tōhon clan pride themselves in the ability which they hold to be able to see through their creations eyes because of the chakra infused paint, this ability lets the clan members guide their creation even when they are not in view of it. The strongest feature of this ninja art though is in its ability to create various effects based solely on the user's ingenuity and the most useful feature in the clan overall is that they are all born with an Eidetic memory and thus they can keep a mental image of anything or anybody they have seen in order to paint them afterwards.

Clan Member Receives

Tōhon Alias - Because the clan began as a Secret Service project, the original idea was to give all members of the project an Alias to go by instead of their original clan name. This idea Dengen kept when he turned the project into a clan, as no Tōhon clan member is ever called by their birth name but instead a name that they received upon starting off the drawing/painting stage of their training.

The Tōhon Scroll - Is a book or better yet a perforated paper scroll, the same size, length, and writing surface of the normal scroll. The difference that the Tōhon scroll has compared to the average sealing scrolls is that the Tōhon is that it is broken into small sections that can be torn off with ease.

Traps will be set like the Earth Release: Mud Wolves: Where if the enemy gets a certain word or describes a specific place or thing like the paper then it will activate.

Or Traps can be set like Mirrored Sudden Attackers Technique: Where the enemy must see the paper from up close, get near it, touch it or step on it in order to activate it.

Tōhon Painting Brush - Each clan member is encouraged to create their own Paint Brush when they first become artists. These paint brushes are all unique to each of their users and the "blueprint" to each's design is saved in case the original is lost or stolen. (Replacing the item will be free after the thread in which you loose it)

Drawbacks: Drawings are inherently weak to Water and Wind elemental Chakra. Water will dissolve the painting while wind will dry it up and cause it to crack and thus dissolve as well. All water and wind elemental techniques are considered to be +1 Rank in Damage when hitting the artwork. The Tōhon Clan is a vulnerable clan in that all you need to weaken the clan member is to take away his tools. Painting will more then likely be drawn on a scroll though the clan is able to create their master piece in any surface regardless of the scroll. The scroll may be questionable but the Tōhon Clan member MUST have their custom paint brush or else the clan skill will be unable to be used until the brush is attained again.
