Guanyin Nanashi, Jounin of Iwagakure, and future head medic of Iwagakure hospital were looking over some files that laid upon the otherwise barren desk. The soft, rhythmic sound of welled trimmed nails thumping against the dark mahogany furniture, was the only noise in the otherwise quiet and quaint office. Of course the office belonged to him. A lone eye looked around the place, various rewards and certificates hung on the otherwise plain white walls, displaying his progression through the medical ranks along with milestones, amongst them were a few personal pictures of him and some of the staff members were placed here and there, aligning the left wall were a brown couch that were big enough to sit three people comfortable and a small book shelf fill to the brim with books, this along with the desk that he was sitting at were the only furniture within the room. But like many have said before it's not the stuff in the room that makes it what it is, but the aura that one feels upon entering it, and surprising enough Nanashi's office, from what he has been told, had a pleasantly warm and welcoming one – people finding themselves extremely at ease upon entering his domain. He couldn't help but to chuckle at such a notion, waving off any who questioning his laughing. It was just to ridiculous to believe that him of all people has an office that screams inviting! Oh the irony of the situation. . .
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
Nanashi's head turned towards the door, closing up the folder that he were looking at before telling the person to come in. An eye brown arched briefly at the nurse who walked in, the name of said nurse having momentarily slipped his mind, but knowing for sure that she was one that worked with him on a few occasions in Iwagakure, and being the co-doctor of this establishment, Nanashi having gain the position a few months prior leaving Iwagakure for war and after the recent eye surgery performance. Motioning for the dark brown haired woman to come closer, her large brown eyes that once were nerves now full with curiosity and innocents, shifted from the pictures that hung on the way and back to the man sitting behind the desk. With a clear of throat, shuffling of feet, hands bringing forth a brown folder and a paper slip that were hidden behind her back, she spoke her voice lighter than the clouds themselves “Sorry for intruding Guanyin Nanashi, but Doctor Sato Kiyoshi wanted me to hand you this folder along with a letter from your mother.”
A sign escaped the man's lips as he looked over the handed files that were sent to him by the head doctor of the currently facility. The good doctor truly didn't deserve the privilege of running a facility, even a small one like this. It wasn't a knock against the doctor's medical skill and knowledge, for he was one of the leading civilian doctors though he only specialize lies in civilians or those who's chakra lay dominant within them.
Chakra. A unique blend of physical and mental energy that comes together in a union given birth to a source of energy that everything depends on. From the times of the old where the countries wasn't uniformed and clans were constantly at each other throats, there have been many who try to unlock the mystery behind the phenomenon energy with little to no success. Even when the times progress, technology improving by leaps and bounds, many still couldn't unlock the mysterious behind the energy. Though through time many began to understand certain properties of chakra – the primal being it acts like a steroids to those who unlock theirs fully. For those who unlock it they gain all the positive of the steroids increase durability, early puberty, strength, etc. but like anything were there's a good side there's a back side and for those who actively use chakra it's their dependent upon the source – like a junkie to drugs. It has been shown that many shinobi subconsciously release miniscule amount of chakra throughout their body doing normal everyday activity. Not only that many have admitted that they couldn't properly function without their chakra being active in their body. Excluding all of that there are many unknown properties regarding how it interacts within the human body – especially in the case of a shinobi. It was just to damn complicated. Hence the reason why many civilian doctors didn't bother in learning medical procedures for dealing with shinobis.
And that was the main complain that Nanashi had with the doctor of the small medical facility – he finding it counter productive in having a head medic who knew absolutely nothing regarding a shinobi's body. Since the man had arrived within Fire Country and checked upon a local hospital on the outskirts of the village, Nanashi had been doing a slew of procedures, many of them being amateurish for those who specialize in the particular field, along with training some of the nurses in how to preform the procedures in the case that he wouldn't be around. Only a few showed promise and the main one being. . .
“Is there a problem sir?” The angelic voice of the nurse, who had been standing there patiently, broke through Nanashi's musing and cause him to look up at her.
“Yes and no.” He said stated, deciding to elaborate further on his statement after seeing the confusion on the woman's face though not before offering her the sit in the chair a front of his desk.
“Since I have arrived here, you have been a wonderful student and an amazing nurse.” He said causing a pink tinge to appear on the woman's cheeks.
“Thank you.”
“I only speak the truth.” He said closing the folders that were handed to him and looking intently into the woman's eyes “If I would offer you the chance of being the primary doctor of this facility, what would you say?”
The expression on the woman's face was priceless and the fact that she was opening and closing her mouth like a fish trying to gulp air was a tell tale sign that she were speechless at proposal.
“Two months. That's how long I will stay within Konohagakure no Sato before returning back to Iwagakure. I expect this will be enough time for your decision?” Nanashi asked, receiving a nod from the still stunned nurse.
“Good. Now tell me what you think about the information in these folders.” He said, sliding the brown folders, that she had given him, towards her to read.
The next couple of hours were spent with the pair talking about details regarding the information in the folders along with how to improve the facility in a hold.
All unaware of the coming storm that was heading towards the small establishment located around the Rolling Hills.
