'The air seems thicker today, or is it thinner? I could never workout the difference between the two, but just maybe...'

There he was, standing atop a high building within the village hidden in the clouds. Binsu didn't see himself as a stalker, but his job description said otherwise. It was common for ANBU ninja to 'stalk' other shinobi, regardless of whether or not they were considered a threat, it was something that Binsu had learned to live with; the fact that no one had any privacy so long as the ANBU were involved. Most disputed the idea but some saw value in it. A select few people in the village knew that in order for the village to find any information about anyone, most of the time for beneficial reasons, the ANBU had to be given that right to poke their nose in anything they questioned. The only question that remained was who would be sent to stalk the stalkers?

Today Binsu had been given a mission, a mission that required both stealth and skill as well as strength, few of the areas he was great at the most. After agreeing to take the mission on the condition that he take it alone, Binsu geared himself up for the day to come, making sure he took with him on the mission his ANBU unifrom, his two swords Static Edge and Daken and wore his chameleon armor underneath. The mission described that he was to go investigate the Abandoned mines located just outside the village, there a notorious crime boss was thought to be hiding. There has been a lot of activity near the abandoned mines, you should find him there. Do not let him escape, he is very slippery. It is your duty to stop him at all costs, his crime raid has hurt many people and it needs to be toppled, read the mission card, the hand writing and tone of voice used staying true to the Raikage's own. After Binsu was certain he had everything he needed for the mission, he took off for the village gates, leaving his house through the secret underground tunnels he had dug up underneath the village to avoid leaking information about his residential home, which would be enough information needed for someone to work out the ANBU's true identity. Apart from the background information about the mission he was going to take, Binsu was also told that he was taking the mission with another ANBU operative, one in his battalion. He wasn't given any information on the name of the ANBU in question nor about his/her abilities, so the the mission would be a way for the two to sync with another their talents and skills in tracking, capturing and eliminating the evidence. In a few minute time Binsu would've reached the Abandoned mines, there he was told he'd meet up with the second ANBU operative before partaking in the search and destroy mission.

His first official ANBU mission. The first time he'd be able to wear his uniform into combat and work alongside another ANBU member. Skye was quite excited, yet at the same time, he was nervous. Although he qualified to join the ranks and serve the Raikage, he still had very little idea on what he was getting into. Skye had all of his ANBU gear ready for him and concealed in a bag. Once he had made it some ways away from the Village and was hidden from view did he change into the armor and don his mask. Before he put his mask on, he stared at it for a little. It had the form of a bat's face, only the nose and mouth weren't shown. The mask also had purple markings coming from the center of the mask, as well as from the eyes. With a heavy sigh, Skye fit the mask over his face and hid the bag in a hollowed out tree. It was time for the mission.

He had recently received the mission specs the day before he was sent. Knowing full well he might have to end a few lives, he would make sure to keep his mind at ease. Skye had killed once before, and for a good cause. He would have to remind himself about this again when it came time. It didn't take him long to reach his destination.

Skye could see where he was supposed to meet his ANBU teammate for this mission, as well as a figure already there. Though the spot was rather secluded and out of the way, he was still cautious in approaching the man there. Slowly and silently, he kept his eyes trained on the man until he got a glance of his mask. There was no doubt that he was his ANBU partner at that point. Walking next to the man, Skye silently looked over at the entrance to the Abandoned Mine. He was unsure about how he should speak or act around the man. It seemed like the man was an ANBU much longer than Skye. In a way, this made him nervous. He was unsure how to act, or even if he should follow the man's lead. With one final decision, he decided to greet the man with a question about the mission. "Has anyone come out of the cave...?" The tone of his voice had a small hint of uneasiness, but overall seemed calm.

A few seconds went by, before the second ANBU operative decided to show up around the rendezvous point, slowly approaching Binsu from the side and saying, "Has anyone come out of the cave...?" The Jounin shook his head, before slowly turning his head to meet mask to mask with the guy, quickly overlooking the possibility of him being an inexperienced ANBU member and saying, "No, but if we stay here long enough i'm sure we should at least see something go in or out of that cave." Binsu spoke under the muffled tone of his mask, which had the ability to alter the wearer's voice to disguise their own. Sounding deeper than he normally would, Binsu spoke up again to the other ANBU operative and said, "On my signal, we quickly but swiftly move towards the far right corner of the entrance and hide behind those bushes." After Binsu was certain the other ANBU had understood what they had to do, he slowly made his way towards the far right corner of the entrance before ducking within the small bush located just next to the cave.  After he saw the man follow him over to the bush, he'd speak in a hush tone and say, "Ok, the plan is to find out what's going on within these caves without being deteted first, so do you have any jutsu on you that can hide you and your clothes or items?" Binsu had a jutsu of his own that could hide him completely from plain sight, but he wasn't so sure about the other guy. Should the answer to his question be no, he could always go in first and do the spying part of the mission before calling the other ANBU over for back up, though the two could find out more information about the activities around the cave if they both spied on the area.

Skye made a silent dash for the bushes and managed to draw no attention to himself. Crouching down next to his teammate and adjusting his equipment slightly, he peeked out of the bush to see if the new angle revealed anyone inside the cave. As face as he could tell, there was no one near the immediate entrance.

Skye grinned under his mask. "Hiding myself? Piece of cake... I'll go ahead and meet you in there." With a tiny amount of concentration, he concealed himself with a simple genjutsu. Usually, he would use this technique to hide traps or fool opponents during fights, but in this case. The genjutsu made Skye invisible to anyone surrounding him, but it wouldn't prevent him from making noise. In order to pass by anyone inside the abandoned mine, he would have to be silent and not make contact with anything or anyone. Seeing how he already used the technique, he would have to be quick when heading into the cave. Though leaving his partner, he would still be useful with seeing what was going on inside the cave.

Standing up and exiting their hiding place, Skye made his way into cave. As he walked around, he could see crates piled up on top of one another, as well as some workers sitting around talking. Skye's eyes darted around the area counting each worker he could see. Recounting a few times, he concluded that there were about sixteen of them. Each of them looked rather weak compared to him or his teammate. Though every single one of them had a fair looking weapon, it would still be rather easy to take them out. The only issue with going after them would be the fact that they would most likely alert whoever is in charge. Skye quietly moved over to one of the open crates and saw a rather large amount of money. With a bit more looking around, he eventually found a spot to keep hidden and wait for his other teammate to conclude his spying as well.

"Hiding myself? Piece of cake... I'll go ahead and meet you in there." the spy replied to Binsu, before activating a genjutsu of some sorts that made him undetectable by the normal normal senses of an untrained man. The A ranked shinobi hadn't told the other ANBU why he had requested to be given the same mission as he, or why he had asked the Reikage for him and him alone to accompany him today, but for the most part the reason was to assess the shinobi's skills as an ANBU, though his expectations of the guy were set fairly low as he knew it was the man's first few days since joining the corps. 'It seems as though he can hide himself pretty well, good enough to fool the untrained eye at least,' Binsu thought to himself, before weaving together a few familiar handsigns and activating his Hiding like a mole jutsu. The ANBU within seconds found himself hidden below the earth's surface, watching from below what happened above as he slowly followed the other ANBU operative into the underground mines.

Inside, Binsu saw a number of oddly stacked crates, most about the size of an average household cooking oven, though what caught his attention the most was the large number of workers sitting around the crates and conversing to one another as if they hadn't a job to do. All wore the same uniform Kumogakure miners were expected to wear, but none looked as though they were doing anything related to mining. Each, oddly enough had a fair looking sword strapped by their right hips but their mining tools were scattered across the floor and the mines themselves looked for the most part untouched; could they have had something to do with the mysterious reports that were stated about the mines? Before Binsu could even try to guess what all of these men were up to, two buff men walked a crate on wheels over the the large group of bystanders, before loading the crate next to a pile of pre-existing ones and opening it. 'I wonder what's in those crates?' Binsu wondered, but his trail of thought was suddenly interrupted when one of the men shouted out, "We're rich!" 'Rich, so those reports about crates of money coming in and out of the mines were true after all, but who is that money for and where did it come from?' Binsu gave up on the thought sooner than it had appeared in his mind. The ANBU gazed around the room once more and counted a total of sixteen poorly armed men, not counting the body of his 'invisible' partner. After choosing to submerge himself from within the ground below the men, Binsu stood in the middle of the large gathering of people before simultaneously drawing out both his Daken blade and Seiteki blade.

The same man that had shouted out 'We're Rich' turned around imediately to face Binsu, before screaming out "A spy! Get him!" As if coordinated to respond at the same time, all the men surrounding Binsu drew out all of their weak swords and charged towards the ANBU with most of their blades held high above their heads. 'Why bother have a sword if you do not know how to use it?' Binsu thought to himself, clearly judging each and every one of the men as weak based on the way they held their swords when running after the nimble Binsu. Binsu drew out both his Seiteki and Daken blade, holding his Daken sword in his left hand using the reverse hand grip and holding his Seiteki sword in his right hand, also using the reverse hand grip. The ANBU then targeted the man closest to him at the time, which was a man not too far to his left, who had long grey hair and a rather large scar across the right side of his face. The man held his sword with both hands, pointing its tip in front of him as he ran after the ANBU in the hopes of piercing through the man's sides with his poor excuse for a sword. "Stupid ANBU, you're not welcome here!" the man called out as he ran, but just as he came as close as two meters away from Binsu, the ANBU pointed the tip of his Daken blade outwards towards the man's stomach, though this action was only performed a second later after the man's sword had came into contact with Binsu's armor. The man was too late, he couldn't avoid the ANBU's attack, he had already committed himself to lunge and because of this ran straight into Binsu's sword jab. The ANBU's high ranked sword pierced through the man's chest as though it was a block of butter, easily cutting through his heart before coming out through the other end (his back). The poor soul's body melted over the ANBU's left arm. As soon as Binsu had seen his next set of targets approach him he let the dead man's body roll off of his arm and onto the ground, before pulling his Daken blade out of his chest ready to use it again on his next victims.

Three other men, all equipped with the same poor quality weapon the first guy had tried to attack Binsu with came running towards the ANBU, but as soon as the first one came into a 2m range of the man, Binsu swiftly dodged whatever attack he had brought with him before rapidly cleaving both of the man's arms using only his Seiteki blade and taking no more than a second to do so. He'd watch as the man would freeze on the spot, excruciating pain forcing his body to tense but the loss of blood from his arms would've caused his death, which occurred a second after the second guy came in to attack Binsu. 'They're persistent, i'll give them that,' the ANBU thought to himself, before ducking under the second guy's horizontal attack towards his head. As he'd bring his body back up, Binsu would carry his Seiteki blade upwards and vertically slice across the man's neck during the process. The man's dead body dropped behind him and as the third guy made his attempts at slicing Binsu across his torso, the ANBU would repeatedly dodge all 5 of the man's attempts by taking a small step behind, but as he came close to one of the craters scattered around the room Binsu deflected the last of the man's attempts, breaking his sword in the process before lunging forwards the piercing the man through his heart in one swift counter-attack. Four more men decided to run towards Binsu, but being bored of killing each of them in the same exact way, Binsu decided to let all of them get as close as a meter away from him, before he activated his Electric shock impulse (with a reduced range) and electrocuted the remaining 4 men, before slicing each of their necks in 4 fluid motions, killing all of them before their numb bodies had the time to hit the ground. "Kill the last 8!" Binsu shouted out to the other ANBU operative.

Skye watched in slight awe as his ANBU partner tore through the massive assault of men. He could only watch as each of the men got slaughtered. Even if Skye hopped out into the open, he wouldn’t be able to help much due to a large majority men being on the other side of the room where his partner was. Instead of getting in the way, he simply watched and waited till an opportune time to come out and attack. Luckily for him, Binsu made quick work of the men and called out to Skye to eliminate the rest.

“You got it!” Canceling his illusion that concealed his presence and hopping out into the open, he was spotted immediately by the remaining men. “A second one?! Get him!” The men formed up a small crowd and started to rush Skye. With a deep breath, Skye began a rather quick formation of hand seals. Once fully complete, he glared at the cluster of 8 men with a grin. The illusion he activated seemed to panic them and cause some of them to fall over. From Binsu’s perspective, a majority the men would be flailing around and attempting to get away from the cluster. Yet, they would move much slower and seem to be trying to swat at the ground. Though it might have not looked impressive from where Binsu was, the men had a completely different view. A large void had opened below them and was causing them to get rather disoriented. This is what caused the falling down. As for the flailing around, flat arms seemed to reach out of the void and wrap around each of their arms and legs. Lightly pulling them down into the abyss below, the arms worked with each other to trap the men and continue to yank them down. Two of the men passed out when they were fully dragged down. The illusion ended for them, but would continue for the conscious members. Panicked, they continued to squirm. Seeing how they were at a point where they would be ultimately confused when the illusion disappeared, Skye cancelled the jutsu and ran at the remaining men. Pulling two kunai out from his pack, he threw them directly at two of the men’s necks. Each hit with precision accuracy. The remaining four shook as they attempted to stand. Turning to look at their attacker, Skye had already reached them with a single kunai in hand. Jabbing the points through one of their chests, he was able to kill one more of them leaving three left. The three, now completely recovered from the illusion drew their weapons and seemed to stare at Skye. Taking the moment to intimidate them, Skye spoke with a deep and frightening voice. “Who wants to be fed to the abyss next…?” With a slight head tilt, he chuckled to fully instill fear in them. At that, the three turned one after another and began to run.

Beginning yet another series of hand signs, Skye opened his palm and held it up in front of his face. As soon as sparks began to surge around his hand, he slammed it into the ground and forced bolts of electricity to be shot through the ground and be guided directly at the three. The three tendrils struck them and caused them all to fall. Each had a large burn mark on their backs and had been shocked to death by the bolt. After retrieving his kunai from the dead men and ending the two unconscious men’s lives, he cracked his knuckles and walked back to Binsu. “Done… You ready to move on?” His voice was now more normal and less fear inducing.

The young Jounin glared towards his partner, amused by the thought that he was far more comfortable with killing strangers than Binsu ever was, although the man himself did occasionally kill targets listed on his mission description he often hated ending another man's life with his own hands. As the ANBU walked towards his companion, he heard a pair of scratchy voices make their way towards the room the two had found themselves stuck in for the mean time, screaming and shouting out lines of cursing towards the two Kumogakure ANBU in mockery of their presence in the mines and their gruesome murders on their own men. "You will die for this!" one of the pair called out, as he ran towards Binsu with a fine-forged weapon held in both hands and aimed downwards by the man's side (Binsu's left, his right). The figure seemed shorter than Binsu himself and certainly looked frail compared to the ANBU, but Binsu didn't dare criticize the man's capabilities based on his size and body build alone. The second man ran after Binsu's companion, but he was of no worry to him in front of the blond haired man that would soon approach Binsu with vengeful intentions. 'I hope you can deal with your opponent over there mate, for my hands have gotten full once more,' Binsu thought to himself, as he made a tighter grip on the weapons he had in his hands whilst waiting for his challenger to arrive. After what seemed like 8 seconds or less, finally the man had reached Binsu. Once he was within reach, he suddenly infused his sword with raiton chakra before taking a vertically downwards strike at Binsu's head with enough force behind the attack to scare the Jounin into instantly react to the attempt without a moment's thought.

The cunning ANBU suddenly embedded both his swords with raiton chakra using a jutsu of his own, increasing their cutting and slicing depth by 2 inches and giving each of the swords a weak defensive layer across their blade's surface. The moment his opponent's attack was a second away from landing, Binsu used his incredible lightning-fast reflexes to cross his Daken sword and Seiteki sword over one another, forming an X shape in front of the incoming attack and ultimately blocking the attacker's sword with his own weapons. Without giving the man much time to pull away from the failed attempt, Binsu moved his Daken blade (held in his left hand) by his left side hip, before activating its main ability by channeling a small portion of his chakra into the sword itself. The wire that held the blades in their sword formation loosened and allowed each of the blade's pieces to separate apart across the thin wire holding all of them intact to the hilt of the sword, revealing the true function of the blade as being a bladed whip. 'Now it's my turn,' Binsu thought to himself, before forcing the animated whip to go around his opponent's back before stabbing the guy through his spine and out through his stomach. The poor soul spewed out a squirt of blood, before releasing his grip on his sword and letting his body fall dead on the ground in front of Binsu. The ANBU would then tighten the wire once more on his Daken sword, pulling all of the individual blades back together to form the sword's blades. "Let's go further down the mines!" Binsu would call out to his ANBU companion the moment he had finished exterminating his target.

Skye sighed slightly as the other man started running at him. His eyes were jumping around, trying to see if there was anything notable about this man and if there was anything he could use to his advantage. Noting a few of the observations in his head, he readied himself for the battle to come. After a slight bit of timing, his scythe came swinging around and blocking the man's blade. He wasn't too experienced with using his scythe, but he could get by during most fights. With a quick spin of his scythe, Skye deflected the sword away from him. It didn't take long for the man attacking him to start trying to go completely on the offensive. Adjusting the position of the scythe each time he man swung at him, Skye successfully avoided each strike. Through the erratic swings and slices, Skye kept looking for some kind of opening. After a few more dodges and blocks, Skye noticed an available area to strike. Taking his scythe, he made an upward slice at the man's left shoulder. A small splash of blood showed that the man had taken the full force of the hit. Because of the cut, the man dropped his weapon and took a jump back. With a grin, Skye dug his feet into the ground and pushed himself off the ground. A swift cut to the side, the man's upper torso was hit with a fatal wound. Dying right then and there, the fight was over. Skye was actually quite impressed with himself. Though he preferred keeping his distance and controlling the fight, using a weapon was something rather different. Being able to stop an enemy's unrelenting assault and quickly disposing of them without any injury gave Skye a little confidence boost. For his first time in a true fight with his weapon, he did rather well.

As soon as he was finished killing his opponent, Skye looked over at his partner. He wasn't too surprised to see that he had already dealt with his. With a small small order to head deeper into the mines, Skye nodded and started to walk towards his partner. Putting his scythe back in his holster, he stretched his arms out slightly and started talk to his partner. "Pretty interesting for my first mission..." He chuckled quietly. Skye didn't expect his partner to respond, though he really didn't mind if his partner didn't say anything back.

Body after body, wasted soul after wasted soul Binsu and his ANBU associate made their way through the many guards they had met whilst infiltrating the underground Mines, each determined to stop the two in their pursuit for the one unnamed thing they were desperately protecting, but like ants protecting their queen's nest or lionesses guarding the pride's kill they all fell in defeat before the ANBU's feet. Blood was drawn every time the men felt threatened, bones shattered every time someone or something stood in their way in the ongoing hunt for the truth behind their residence within the underground mines, of all places to live. 'What are they trying to protect?' Binsu overused his thoughts on the question, but never did he think about sparring one of the men's lives in hopes of spewing out the information from his memory before taking his life away. Had it not been to test the man's skills in combat Binsu would've ordered the other ANBU operative to stop killing the men for a second and instead focus on finding out what they were dying to protect, but before he could dedicate any more time towards the thought the ANBU spoke up after killing his targets and said, "Pretty interesting for my first mission..." The Jounin nodded before replying. "And it only gets more engaging after this my friend," but before he could finish his line, the voice of an angered male boasted aloud from the other side of the mines saying, "My Chunin told me i had rats to worry about, guess he was right. I will consider whether or not i should take your lives now, whilst i drive my blade through each of your hearts and test the chances that you will survive long enough for me to reconsider killing you!!" The man spoke with chilling yet disturbing tone in his voice, but this only made the words he spoken that more irritating. Binsu had never been threatened he'd die by another living soul: as most who did were promised death as soon as they had made their threats. After re-activating his Byakugan and looking through the eye holes on his ANBU mask in search of the mysterious voice's owner's whereabouts he found a man standing 5m away from the opposite wall they were facing.

After hearing the man's words, Binsu placed his right hand on top of his Static Edge sword's hilt, but didn't proceed to draw out the sword's blade as he was hit with the thought of letting his ANBU partner finish the man off. "I trust you are capable of killing opponents up to your skill level?" Binsu spoke quietly towards his partner, before saying, "If so, you shall have the honors of killing this man alone. I will make my way back towards the entrance and wait for you to finish killing this man, before i seal the entrance shut. Understood?" Binsu didn't spend any more time talking. After the other ANBU had given him a 'yes' as his answer he'd quickly make his way back out of the mine's entrance before patiently waiting for him to walk out with news of the man's death.
