Rumble in the Snow

A cold draft went through the air on this morning. The wind chilled the sweat on his body, seems another nightmare. Zetsume opened his eyes, slightly touching the scar on his face that traveled across his face. He could not remember the dream but he knew why he woke this way. Repede, Zetsume's dog was laying at the feet of his bed, leaning up he gave the dog a small pat before getting out of bed. All of these days seemed to drag on, mission after mission just to help this village. Could it all have been in vain? What if no matter how many enemies of Kumogakure I kill, more appear. How long can this body of mine hold up..., he thought while taking a shower.

It was almost past noon when a small knock rang though his small house. Zetsume had just gotten ready when it happened. Repede was waiting patiently to see what was at the door. When he opened the door, his eyes fell upon a small academy student with a bundle of letters in a bag. He was just smiling holding out the letter to Zetsume in a friendly manner. After thanking the boy and tipping him a small amount for his work, Zetsume opened the letter.

"Seems I must kill another that threatens this village, wait whats this?

His eyes fell upon these words, "You have been assigned to take Xian with you. Here is a picture."

Zetsume took a long look at the picture before laying it on the ground for Repede. "I need you to find this man and lead him to the front gate. Did you get a good look at him?", he said to Repede who gave a small bark of approval.

"Good, Ill meet you there."
he said in a low tone before grabbing his gear and set off for the front gate as Repede went to find this ninja called Xian.

Sitting quietly in the park prying into a book about scientific theories about chakra and the universe, Xian spent his morning in peace and harmony. He had forgotten all of his duties and for the moment was at ease with the world. As he took a sip of his coffee he suddenly realized an important revelation indeed. He had signed up for a mission whilst intoxicated one of the past couple of nights. A mission probably way beyond his capabilities and..

He stopped in his franticness. "Whatever may happen will happen, better start walking toward the administrative building to get my intel."

As he walked he tried to remember what his night had consisted of. All he gathered were blurred memories of feeling as though he was the greatest shinobi in the world. And as he passed along the main road through town he had a constant feed of who entered his personal space bubble. Several people would pass in herds at a time. Finally he reached a point where no people were close enough to pass in that bubble and just as he did something entered it quickly behind him. A dog. A dog had come and was dragging on his pants leg, beckoning him towards the gates with drivable gestures.

Xian decided to entertain the hunch that maybe this dog was connected to his night and followed the creature to the gates of the village. Upon which he approached a man. The gentle breeze blew Xians pony- tail and bangs as he approached the man with his hat cocked downward. Who was this? And why had a dog brought him to this man?
