He had finally, after travelling through the Dense Forest and fighting a few low rank missing-nin along the way, reached the Blacksmith's abode, only to be challenged to a duel to see if he was worthy enough to face him. Master Piandao handed him a C-rank katana to borrow for the fight; he would also be using one of those to make it fair.

"Begin!" declared the Blacksmith as they both charged into action. For the first few seconds, things seemed a little even - with the two taking turns slashihg and parrying, neither actually getting hit. Of course, that changed when the Blacksmith slashed through Kashizudoto's green jacket, sending him flying back. It seemed that the swordsmaster was going easy on the boy, as he allowed him to get back up on his feet.

With his left hand, Kashizudoto formed the tiger seal - as the katana was already firmly in the grasp of the right. Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu! A giant fireball came out of Kashizudoto's throat which would cause major first degree burns to unexposed skin and minor second degree burns to exposed skin.

Burn.

Burn.

Burn. The fireball went out at the Blacksmith in a flamethrower-like offense. After a few seconds, it was over. In front of Kashizudoto? A charred field. But where was the Blacksmith? A jutsu like the one Kashizudoto had could never burn someone to a crisp. What was more likely? This guy dodged it and was hiding somewhere.

Kashizudoto readied himself for an ambush and became more alert. He couldn't get caught off guard like that. Whoosh. Kashizudoto's ear picked up a noise behind him. Steel met steel as Kashizudoto turned back and parried. The two were in a deadlock. They both leaped backwards, sliding along the grass.

Kashizudoto was exhausted, but the Blacksmith looked like he was just warming up. They charged at each other again, and, once again, the two blades clashed and screamed the warriors cry. This was some serious shiz.

They exchanged a few more blows, until the Blacksmith's blade ripped right through Kashizudoto's jacket. OW! OUCH! OUCH! Yow! Good thing these blades weren't all that sharp, or else he would have had a bigger problem than just a knockback. He got back up on his feet, suffering some minor external bleeding.

They, once again both charged at each other, but, this time, Kashizudoto was prepared. As he was running, he spotted a large boulder and quickly formulated a genius plan. Katon no Bunshin! He formed a fire clone that would charge in front of him to mask his other form. The swordsmaster would probably not notice considering that he was running to fast to perceive such a thing. With that, he quickly ducked behind the boulder, letting his clone continue charging.

Of course, his Katon clone would not come with a katana - so the Blacksmith would notice something was off soon enough. He needed to have there be a reason the katana wasn't in his hand. That was it: he would put his all into another fire jutsu to distract the Blacksmith. Six basketball-sized fireballs were made, enough to cause minor burns. He thrust them at his opponent. Meanwhile, the real Kashizudoto was charging behind the Blacksmith. The swordsmaster, having such great reflexes, easily sidestepped to avoid the jutsu.

That was the opening. Kashizudoto's right foot pushed against the ground hard as he made a slash aimed at the Blacksmith's midsection. Yes... Yes... It was going to make it.

The two katanas hit each other as the swordsmaster somehow parried the strike, and they once again entered into a complex, precise dance of swords locking with each other again and again, each person trying to gain the edge (no pun intended) over the other. However, Kashizudoto still had a Katon clone ready to perform a jutsu, so he took advantage of it

Katon: Endan! Oil collected in the clone's throat, only to be spit out as a bullet of flame being shot directly at the Blacksmith's back. However, this guy was smart, he was always taking looks back and forth to make sure he sensed everything. So he found out about this quickly and jumped up into the air, leaving the original Kashizudoto in the direct line of fire.

HOOOOOTTTTT!!!! The bullet hit Kashizudoto and continued burning violently; after all, it would burn on any surface for a while. While Kashizudoto was distracted with that, the Blacksmith would go for the clone. While his clone began to enter a sequence of dodging the Blacksmith's strikes, Kashizudoto ran to a nearby lake to get the fire drenched.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh... Much better. Kashizudoto jumped into the lake, removing the fire from his body. But this was no time to relax. He now had to sneak attack the Blacksmith. He watched from within the lake as the clone, who thought like the original, lured the Blacksmith to the lake with his back turned...

The original Kashizudoto observed the battle between his clone and the Blacksmith, as the Katon clone slowly lured the Blacksmith closer and closer to the lake, with his back turned to it - and the original. Eventually, the clone got the Blacksmith in the best position to be ambushed.

When the swordsmaster slashed, the clone willingly stood still, while the original Kashizudoto took the cue and jumped out with katana in hand to slash at the Blacksmith. He needed to get at least one hit.

The katana slashed from the upper right to lower left of the swordsmaster's body. Clank. He noticed it all along! Kashizudoto observed the parry with horror. That really was his last opening. Damn it. This was bad. Real bad. Terrible.

They exchanged some more slashes and once again engaged in a vile series of slashes. Finally, the Blacksmith, with a series of sidesteps and quick maneuvers, quickly came behind Kashizudoto, about to slash. The fire clone, focused on the goal even when as helpless as he was, jumped in between the two to take the blow, a kind of self sacrifice. Obviously, the fire clonewas immediately vanquished, but that gave the original time to escape and get back on the offensive against the swordsmaster.

"You pass."
