Miso

D-rank
Miso rolled in his bed, enjoying a dream in his deep unwakeable slumber. He tossed and turned, the dream changed. At first he was on a mission, an A ranked mission in Konoha. He was to seek the Hokage and make a diplomatic agreement. Afterwards the Hokage and Miso went to a ramen bar and had a whole flask of Sake together. Miso had a great time in Konoha but he knew It was time for him to return. The journey back to Konoha was a pleasant, nothing more or less than a stroll; taking in all that nature had to offer. Miso was truly enjoying this dream, it was the deepest most serene form of relaxation and pleasure he had ever had in his life. He was hoping that it would never end. Miso was nearly home in the dream, he was still doing nothing over a leisurely stroll. Then the dream took its turn. There was no Kirigakure. It was engulfed in….shadow. It was just black, a flood of black had taken over Kirigakure, and purged it of everything. Miso tossed and turned, now wishing that the dream would stop. When the blackness subsided, there was nothing left. Just, emptiness where Kirigakure used to be. Miso finally woke up, thankful that it was over. He woke to a sight much worse than the dream; much worse than he could have imagined.

Black. Kirigakure was black. Flames, but not ordinary flames. Black flames, and the water that the desperate villagers were trying to pour to put it out had no effect. Worse, the flames were….they were burning the water. How is that even possible? Everything the flames touched carried on burning, even the non-combustible materials. The whole sight was impossible, Miso pinched himself. He pinched himself again. He slammed his head into the wall. He grabbed a knife and sliced his palm. He wasn’t waking up. He wasn’t waking up from the horrible nightmare that he had stumbled upon. Miso stopped trying. He was only evading the inevitable. This wasn’t a dream. This was real life. Kirigakure had almost fully burned down by now, and was nothing but a mass of ashes and corpses. Then those horrible flames burned the corpses to ash. Everything. This was by far much worse than the dream, much worse than anything that Miso could have every imagined. Why? Why did this happen to Kirigakure. Flames like that, they could only be the result on Ninjutsu….Kirigakure had been attacked. There was no doubt about it, this was no accident. All of the pondering, Miso failed to realise. The flames had reached his house, and were slowly making their way to his bedroom. “Get out!!!!”

“Move. Move. MOVE!”

Panic ran through Miso’s body, and he went into shock. There was nothing he could do. The foul flames were going to get him, and he couldn’t even try to flee. No. He was an Uzumaki. Uzumakis do NOT go down that easy, that is not the Uzumaki way. Inch by inch, Miso was moving his body, He had to gain control again. He managed to reach the wall, his whole body was screaming, screeching at him. He pulled his head back, as much as his stubborn body would allow him to.

SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

Miso had smashed his head into the wall three times, extremely hard. A cut had opened, no, a gash had opened, above his right eyebrow; he was bleeding pretty badly. His eyebrow was the only part of his body left screaming. The pain had snapped his body out of the temporary paralysis, and he was in full control. Time to escape. Miso ran to the door. Useless, the flames had already made their way to there. Miso turned around and the flames were burning through the floor. He picked up a book and smashed the window. Miso stepped back, took run up and leapt out of the window, free from the flame’s clutches.

Nothing left. There was nothing left when Miso woke up. He had hit his head hard on the ground when he jumped out of the window and knocked himself out. As he lost his consciousness, he wondered if he was going to die in his sleep, perish along with the rest of the village. At least he had gone down with a fight, He would die the death of an Uzumaki. It was a surprise to Miso that he was still alive when he woke up, but it was short lived happiness. Kirigakure was just a pile of ash now, nothing but black. The villagers all dead, the buildings not even rubble, everything was ash. Those flames were something else, they burned EVERYTHING to ash. Everything. Miso was the lone survivor of the attack, he had to get out of Kirigakure now. He had to go to the only place he knew the directions to. Konohagure no Sato
