Kizashi

Kizashi

D-rank
There was nothing out here in the endless dunes of crystalized earth matter. The small specks of which would get into your clothing if you let it. All of the sand was one thing most people who lived in Sunagakure all their lives would be used to. Not Syekren. He hated the sand that surrounded his village, as it was so inconvenient to have to clean out of his clothing all the time. But nonetheless Syekren had stayed in the village all this time, for better or worse, and in this case much worse, so no reason to be upset over it now. Today he had opted out of wearing his normal cloak and ANBU armor, and instead wore a sleeveless netted shinobi training shirt, black, as well as matching tights, white shinobi tabi, and black sandals. His hitai-ate was upon his forehead, gleaming in the sunlight with the left end pulled down to cover his empty eye socket. He had his hair pulled back into a tight bun, with a fair amount of it that had grown in the back going to the point of his shoulders on his back, and stopping just there.  His one good azure hued eye scanned over all the sand, which had shadows of the few clouds that were in the sky moving around their dunes. He had come to train and he couldn't think of a better day for all of this to happen.

Syekren quietly stretched out his muscles, arms going out to the sides while he arched his back inwards, stretching out the muscles of his chest and back as well as those in his arms. He  then brought his right leg up, bending the knee, and used his hand to hold the knee to his chest for a few seconds, then doing the same onto the other leg. He quietly bent down, touching his toes after the previous exercise had finished, before moving to crouch down and stretch out one leg, and then the other, bouncing on the balls of his heels for a few seconds. With his stretching exercises completed, the shinobi stood at his full height once more, and took a deep breath. He had a lot of training to do, and as he let out his breath, he pushed his body to flop towards the ground, his hands catching himself. Without a second to waist, Syekren had begun to do push ups, counting each one off in his head as he went. He wanted to build his fortitude and his strength to match his speed, but training alone was a hassle along with being boring. Having motivation always helped.

While doing push ups, his mind traveled to the time he had sparred with Suzume Koga, the present kazekage. Though at this point she had just become a chuunin and was about at his skill level. They had been sparring to train together as well as for Syekren to win the chance to have a date with the beautiful young lass. It came out to be that Syekren had been far faster and stronger than Suzume at that point and as such, victory was awarded to him as well as a date that went absolutely nowhere. Still, it was something to say he had beaten the Kazekage in a fight. Yet, she had become the Kage, and Syekren was left in her dust. He had vowed to train harder and match her strength one day, coming up short as a Special Jounin. Soon after he was made the captain of the ANBU corps as well as captain of his own squad. He had done much in such a short amount of time. Then, he'd lost his eye and had disappeared to take time away from everything, to hide his shame? Or to train? He couldn't say either as he wasn't shamed, but he also had done nothing to further his abilities.

After a while of push ups and thinking, Syekren had begun to feel parched. Luckily while he had opted out of his cloak and all his equipment, he had decided to bring a satchel full of water bottles and bread. They weren't some gourmet meal, but these rations would help him stay alive and hydrated while he trained out in the desert. He quietly sat back on his bottom on top of a dune of sand, reaching over into his satchel and grabbing one of the water bottles near the bottom of it, making sure not to crush the very fragile loafs of bread. A crack of the plastic and the cap was off in the shinobi's hand, his hand moving the bottle's opening to his mouth, which opened to allow the cold liquid into it, then down his throat. After a few moments of drinking the life saving elixir, he capped it at about three fourths full, and huffed. Syekren began to look around, hoping to see someone coming out this way for training as he had done. Maybe he'd find a friend or a new student.
