D-rank
mission:

Hands were shoved into armpits and nose was his under scarf. Fukai waited in the chilly night air for a particular man. The sun had been down for many hours now, but here he stayed in wait in a sheltered corner of suburban Iwa. This man was not a welcomed guest, but a thief. One that had made a career out of taking from others. Intelligence had managed to bring in a surprising amount of information on the thief, so much so that there was a scheme set up to lure this man out of hiding. That scheme was taking place tonight. The job of catching him and bringing him in had been referred on to the purple eyed genin. He huffed out a white ball of heat and peered into the dusk. He had a loose plan of what was going to happen. The criminal would take the bait and then he could track him back to his hole. He hoped he would make his move soon, crouching in a hole was giving the young man cramp.

A flicker of a shadow. Looks like I've got company. The thief had been lured here after he had passed a conveniently placed booby house. At that time the thief had been identified, but his stash was still hidden. Apparently he was a suspicious person and didn't visit his little hidey hole in the day. Fukai watched from the hidden spot two blocks down. The burglar easily slipped inside with a few deft movements and a crowbar. He has skill. Tura Rukara. That was his name, he wasn't a shinobi yet he clung to the shadows like one. Fukai told himself to watch closely, dalying too long would cause him to lose his target. He crept forward, slowly and carefully. He got closer, moving up to the block across from the building. The shadow slipped back out from the way he came, bag of planted goodies over his shoulder. He headded down the alley way and among the houses, keeping low. Fukai started the tail. He knew that one wrongly placed foot could knock something and cause a clatter. The suspicious thief would surely high tail it out of the place, and go to ground. It looked like the man knew the streets well. Escaping into this maze of housing would be all too easy.

The building started to thin as the thief and his shadow exited the village. Fukai needed to drop back further to keep from being noticed. It was getting harder and harder to see him in the darkness. It seemed like they were headding in the direction of the lake. Fukai moved sideways and started to move perpendicular to the man. The lake appeared in the distance. Fukai moved on ahead. As he watched from a bush, the man moved silently towards his home. A whistle came from behind the man. Both Fukai and the criminal perked their heads up. Nothing was there. It was just the wind through the odd rock formations. A few minutes later the thief turned towards a little cabin on the side of lake Gisei. The genin guessed that was where the stash was. I should get there before him.

The old wooden cabin looked inconspicuous beside the great body of water. Fukai had made it to the old ruddy residence a good five minutes before the due arrival of the thief. It had been pushing, making a semicircle around the target. His breathing slowed as he quickly searched his house. Cupboards, nothing. Loose floorboads? Nope. He scratched his white head. If he couldn't find the looted items then he would have to beat the location out of him. Fukai did not like this conclusion, violence when only neccesary, he didn't take pleasure in inflicting pain. Here he came. Fukai hid next to the door so when it swung open, Fukai would be hidden. The sound of steps increased. He was panting a bit, the weight of the bait loot had made the journey arduous and taken it out of him. Fukai channeled his chakra through his scarf and it reared up in anticipation. The man swung the door open and heaved his loot through it. He hadn't taken two steps inside before the blood red scarf curled around the thief's neckand face. Fukai chose to go with scare tactics. Where's the stash! He yelled at the surprised man. Fukai forced him to his knees and could see the man panic. Tell me NOW where is your stash? The man finally stammered out an answer. It- its around the back. Fukai moved behind the man and released the coil that went around his eyes. Show me where. Fukai kept behind the man as he got up and slowly walked out the door so that he couldn't be seen.

The man crept slowly around the outside of the shack with the scarf coiled around his head, Fukai following 3 metres behind. He had the man firmly strapped up like a scared dog with an oppressive owner. Its here. Please, just take it and leave me be. The theif seriously thought Fukai was someone who just wanted to take his stuff. This was the Iwa that Fukai knew, the one where a criminal has more trouble with others of his kind than with the authorities. The man was gesturing towards a pile of firewood. Of cource, what a great hiding spot. Unpack it. The thief did as he was told. There lay a metre box, as he opened it, the genin peered inside. There were all sorts of valuables from jewelery to trophies. Now pick it up. We are going back to the village. The man made a confused noise and tried to turn around. Fukai didn't let him, keeping his identity a mystery. An unknown figure was much more imposing than his own plain face. Walk. Now or I will break your neck here. A feint but one that would prove effective. The man abrubtly hefted the box up to his naval and marched towards Iwa. May as well make him do the work and then hand himself in.
