Final Round: Sand vs Petals 529606-esame_chunin

The last round of the Chuunin Exams was well underway.  So far two rounds had already been completed, and the final two were on their way.  The main showstopper matches seemed fitting to have the two Iwagakure shinobi showing off their skills.  The rules for this match were the same as before.  Fight until give up or proctor calls the match.  Death was to be avoided otherwise disqualification.  No interference from the outside was allowed.

Though, interference was more of a problem this time around.  The scenery for the matches had changed to the main stadium in the center of Takigakure.  Atop the tall tree that shaded the village, the stands were buzzing with excitement and littered with disappointment as each match began and ended.  The crowd was at the show unlike before, and this time, the fighters would have to deal with that nuance.

The field at the top of the giant tree always provided sunlight a plenty.  The only shade on the open gravel field 100m wide were a few trees surrounding the perimeter of the arena, and a small lake off to one side, spanning 20 meters in a circle.  Wind was always blowing, and the temperature was rather comfortable.  Beyond the walls, reaching 30m up eyes gazed down onto the field from the bleachers, with plenty of spectators booing or cheering for the champions below.

A voice echoed out as everyone quieted down for a moment.  "For the third round the the Chuunin Exam Finals.  We have Nozomi Himitsu from Kirigakure."  On the large screen opposite from where the Daimyo of Takigakure, the last fight she had was being shown in clips.  From the first strikes she made on the opponent, to the last blow delivered, with blood around her lips for some reason.  The crowd cheered as they watched her win her last match.

"And her opponent is going to be Suteki Yaku of Iwagakure." Again, the screen flashed with images, this time of the young tiny girl running around the outside of the field with clones and vanishing into mist.  The crowd had a mixed reaction to this, as no blood was drawn, and the battle ended with a forfeit.  Though, the young girl had a few in her corner, those that won money most certainly betting on her.

The Daimyo raised his hand as the two girls made their way out onto the field with the proctor standing in the center of the field.

On paper, these two were practically a coin flip of a match.  Physically, they were equal, if size wasn't taken into consideration.  Age they were different, but not enough to make a huge impact.  The main differences between them was that Nozomi was a taijutsu user, and Suteki had genjutsu on her side.  Though, through circumstance, Suteki might have had the upper hand.  The young girl had watched Nozomi's match against her last opponent, and seen what skills she had and how she used them.  Though, it could also be said for herself, though very little was shown except for two water based jutsu, hidden mist and water clone jutsu.

The young girl had plenty of time to look around the field and think of some plan of action in order to beat the offensive juggernaut that was Nozomi Himitsu.  Her jutsu with the flower petal like incarnations were quite something.  It could almost be compared to her sand in control at least.  But for the fact that the petals in itself was a weapon for cutting, similar to a knife.  She would have to be wary of getting to close to this opponent.  Taijutsu and those petals seemed to be a close combat based weapon.  Suteki would have to keep some distance between the two of them if she was to stand any chance at all.

The two kunoichi stood in the center of the arena, 15 meters apart.  At least on Suteki's end, she made sure of that.  The small lake was 20 meters behind Nozomi.  The young girl grabbed her gourd and pulled the corks out of both ends in anticipation of the beginning of the match.  The crowd screamed in excitement, yelling for the match to begin.  The young girl breathed in deeply, than out slowly, preparing for the coming action.  She looked around one more time, getting the lay of the land, than at the proctor and her opponent ahead.  She was going to take this match just as seriously as the last.  If someone was able to sense the emotions coming from her, they would easily tell she was out for blood.  As cautious as she was right now, she was always ready for a vulnerability to show itself.

The proctor looked at both of the fighters, than spoke loud and in a calm manner, "Nozomi Himitsu, are you ready?"  He waited for a response.  "Suteki Yaku, are you ready to begin?"  Another deep breath, bowing slightly to her opponent and than answered getting into a position to pounce.  "Anytime!", she responded with a scowl.  "Very well." The proctor looked up at the Daimyo as he raised his hand and nodded.  The proctor spoke, "Begin!"

Suteki would let her opponent dictate the first portion of the battle, though moving in a direction of opposite direction to maintain that 15+m or so distance between the two of them.  The sand from her gourd welled up and fell to the ground behind her.  It was always available for a quick defense if needed, but leaving it behind if her opponent chased after her could make for a great surprise if lucky enough.  She knew a few of the girls tricks, so she felt prepared.

48 hours have passed.  I am allowed to take the match because of time ruling.

Suteki looked across the field expecting to see her opponent enter into the stadium at the same time as she was instructed, but no one was opposite her.  She continued out towards the proctor and stood a decent distance from him.  She uncorked her gourd and than looked back toward the proctor whom was looking at the other entrance to the arena.  On the other side, a man or woman, a person was able to be seen seeming to shrug and looking back.  His ear piece squeaked for a moment than voices could be heard.  The words were jumbled and incomprehensible for the young girl.  She just continued to look around studying her surroundings a little more now that she was on the field itself.

After a moment the man looked up toward the Daimyo of Takigakure, and I joined in to see if I could figure anything out that was going on.  The stadium grew silent for a moment as people were figuring out something was amiss.  The Daimyo had a very disturbed and angry look on his face, looking down to the proctor and Suteki below.  A man ran over and spoke to one of his aides and in turn the aide leaned towards the Diamyo and spoke to him.

People in the stands started to boo and grown at what was happening for this round.  A few people yelled in anger, "What the hell is this?  A no show?"  Another one echoed from the rafters, "Again?  She gets a by again?"  It continued on with more and more people speaking angered by the events.  "Ya! The last match she was in the opponent gave up!  What the heck is goin on here?"  "Maybe she payed someone to take out her opponent. "Shit, maybe she did it herself!"  The stands started to rumble with anger.  "Where is her opponent man, we paid good money for some action!"  "Her opponent didn't show, give her the win and lets move on already."  "Ya, just move on already."  "Wooohooo!  Looking good for me this time.  I am glad I bet on her!"  "Pfft, this is bull...."  This continued on for five minuets, growing in ferocity amongst those against and for the match.

The stadium was starting to grow restless and the Daimyo looked down and than stood up to speak.  With some anger in his voice, and yet a little exuberance, "It seems Nozomi Himitsu has failed to show up for her match and is disqualified!  The winner is Suteki Yaku of Iwagakure!"  Some of the people in the stadium cheered with excitement as her name shown on the board with the words winner above.  A good percentage just wanted the final match to begin, and others angered by the results.  Most likely from the lack of action for the price of admission, or from losing money by betting against the young girl.

Suteki Yaku looked at the proctor who turned towards her.  "It seems you win this match young miss.  Please exit the arena floor to the exit behind you, and enjoy the rest of the matches."  The young girl looked around confused and than bowed to the proctor thanking him and turning around running towards the exit.  Shouts of anger could still be heard now that those that had won were going to turn in their tickets, while others were going to the box office to place bets on the next match.

Suteki entered the doorway, letting out a sigh of relief as another proctor met her at the doorway, congratulated her and escorted her back to the viewing area. The young girl from Iwagakure knew that this was the best result she could have hopped for.  That girl from the Hidden Mist, Nozomi Himitsu, was pretty strong, and chances are she would have taken the match.  At this juncture of her shinobi career, given the young girl's abilities and experience, she would have probably have lost.  But she certainly wasn't willing to look a gift horse in the mouth today.  She won, and she would be all smiles for the remainder of the day.

It is a shame to hear of such Nozomi. I am not one to be so cruel as to punish someone for something that couldn't be avoided over a short period.

I based my second post of not godmodding your characters existence in the arena, that is why I made it as a no show. Just void the 2nd post please and pick up from the first, placing your character wherever within the arena.

OOC: ((Thank you for your consideration Suteki. Good luck, and have fun ^_^))

Nozomi was a bit apprehensive to say the least. She was looking forward to a good match, but at the same time, she knew that Suteki's last opponent hadn't even bothered to fight her, and quit the match. That was certainly a telling thing. So Nozomi's plan of attack would best be to smash through any guard. She didn't like having to be very offensive, but in this situation, a defensive play wouldn't be the best starting maneuver.

An so she found herself standing there, the match about to begin. The proctor looked at both of the females, and started speaking. A large burst of white noise was in Nozomi's ears, and she heard nothing of what he said, but he was looking at her as if asking a question. She nodded her head, and that seemed to be the correct response, as the match was now beginning.

Nozomi thought quickly. Her opponent emptied her gourd of the sand she was carrying. The young girl knew enough about physics to reason that wet sand would be more difficult to wield, so she could utilize that to her advantage. Suteki was also back tracking, trying to make space between them. Nozomi, grinned. So far she hadn't met anybody faster than her here, perhaps because of her size. It wasn't much, but she seemed to be able to pull forward quicker. Taking into account that Suteki was moving backwards, it would prove impossible for her to keep the distance she wanted to.

Nozomi calculated all of that as she burst forward, handsigns already being formed. "Water Style, Water Trumpet Jutsu!" she mouthed silently, bursting out water at the sand that was laidout in front of her. Disabling her sand or weakening it was the key point of Nozomi's strategy. She needed to get herself in close. No sooner was the jutsu finished and spread on the sand than Nozomi's hands were moving to new signs. She'd halved the distance they had between them, now about 7 meters away from the other girl. "Water Style, Rising Slice!" she once again mouthed. At this range, the jutsu would be near unavoidable. Moving at a speed of 25 m/s, at around 7 meters away, it would reach her opponent almost instantaneously.

As before, when fighting against Yokochima Senju, Nozomi knew that she had to maintain her offense, and that's what she did. It was almost a blind instinctual flurry of attacks. Pooling her chakra into her hands, Nozomi bursted forward, her hands brought together and shoved forward, issuing out a stream of chakra petals. With her burst of speed, she'd closed about another half of the distance, bringing her about 3 or 4 meters away from Suteki. The stream issued from her hands, directed at Suteki's midsection. Moving at a speed of 15 meters per second, Nozomi's attacks would prove to be unrelenting. Allowing an opponent time to think isn't good when you don't know their specialities. As Nozomi hadn't been able to watch Suteki's fight, since it didn't happen, she was at a disadvantage.

Perhaps Kaekio was watching. Perhaps she thought that Nozomi was far too aggressive. However, Nozomi also hoped that the cute girl she'd met at the waterfalls was proud of her.

Nozomi edged forward and Suteki fell back slowly.  She easily revealed her plans of action, avoidance, but it wouldn't matter much to her.  The young girl kept a close eye on her actions.  Than the attack came, Nozomi rushed at her and Suteki was quick to rush back away from the attack.  The girl spun hand signs for an attack.  Sand continued to pour out from her gourd as she moved, leaving behind a stream of it as she moved away.  The girl was fast, but still nothing of great concern.  Suteki had plenty of room for options, so she prepared for a quick dodge if possible from what would either be a water or lightning based jutsu most probable.  The chances of the jutsu being a more exact localized firing jutsu, dodging to either the left or the right would be a good action to preform.  So just as the girl was about to fire her jutsu, seeming to user her hands to aim, Suteki watched for where the attack was going, before acting.

To her surprise though, the girl was aiming in front of her, and downwards towards the ground.  Nozomi was up to something, but what?  She kept backtracking keeping a distance fairly close to 15 meters or so.  As she released the jutsu, she hit the sand in front of her, and spread it out slightly.  "My sand?" she muttered.  She knew her sand would be weakened somewhat by the water, but not significantly so. Perhaps she was trying to wash it away?  That seemed more plausible.  Though just shooting at (assuming, but can correct me if you wish) one track of the sand wouldn't do to much to wash it away.

'Did the girl have some knowledge about her capabilities?'  Her clan, Sabaku, of whom she never met another.  'It seemed everyone had some knowledge about them.'  Nothing else seemed to come to mind by making it her sand wet.  'Will have to see if something comes of that.', she thought.

Suteki kept backpedaling, jumping backwards, and maintaining the distance between the two of them as each leaped forward.  The girl now weaved new hand signs, a jutsu of which she recognized.  She would certainly have to defend against the jutsu.  She would be at about the same interval with Nozomi in unleashing the jutsu, interrupt a portion of her jutsu in time.  Suteki slamed her hand to the ground, "Earth Release: Earth Shore Return" was said just as the ground rose up like a leaver.  The water jutsu would slam into the top of the large chunk of earth as it rose up, about 3 feet off the ground, cracking slightly at the top but still holding true.

The large monolith reached it's pinnacle at 15ft high and 7ft wide. A large crack was at the top of the wall, showing the damage of Nozomi's attack.  She had fired her jutsu off just as the earth wall rose, but the wall cut the jutsu in the center, stopping the bottom half of it's momentum, as some of the water splashed on Suteki's hands and face from it's impact.  The rest of the jet continued on behind her, fizzling out quickly as it only had 5 or so meters left to it's maximum.

The purpose of the jutsu was for a quick defensive measure, utilizing no hand signs.  Though it's usefulness was short lived really.  Suteki had to stop her movement to raise the jutsu, giving her opponent 5 meters easily if not more.  But now, her opponent wouldn't be able to see her next set of actions.  She could wait their and attack her enemy from behind if she ran around it, or jump over the wall and attack her enemy from the air.  Instead, she choose to continue to run.  Suteki jumped at the wall, than pushed off of it to regain speed as she ran away from the raised wall, still dropping sand slowly from both ports.  A small pool of her sand left behind the wall for an attack if needed.  She would look back to get a view of her enemy whom was about 10 meters behind her and the wall.  If positioned right, she would release one of her sand jutsu to puncture the girl that was gathered at the base of the monolith.

The crowd cried with glee, watching the two girls go at it.  It was rare for most people to get such a great view of two shinobi fighting each other.  Though they weren't among the greats of the ninja world, they were still quite something to see.  The action was fast, only a few seconds having passed since the start.  Most were perplexed to keep up, others were just enthralled at the possibility of blood and action.  But to bad for them, these girls weren't giving enough time for such enjoyment to be had to it's fullest.

Unknown to her knowledge though, Nozomi was releasing another jutsu, the flower petal jutsu her clan was skilled in upon the wall. The wall would still hold against the jutsu, at least for one round of hits, but the wall started to crack at it's center, being slightly noticed as Suteki ran away, regaining some distance from Nozomi as she attacked. Perhaps sparking the crowd to grow louder.

Nozomi

Nozomi glared at the wall in front of her. Withdrawing from the assault she was making on the wall, considering it was still standing, she contemplated momentarily what course of action she should take. Of course, that's when it hit her. Of course! A fake out. Instead of destroying the wall, Nozomi would use it to her advantage. She couldn't see Suteki, but at the moment, neither could she see Nozomi. Nozomi's hands moved into the symbol for a clone jutsu. Of course, she wasn't using any special clones, they were simply diversionary. All of them looked like her, even with the chakra gathered around their hands. Nozomi had made 3 of them, instead of the possible 5. Sending 2 of the clones on either side of the monolith, Nozomi had the third one traverse to the top of the monolith. Since it wasn't a corporeal clone, it didn't matter, and it wasn't very exhaustive on chakra, since it didn't consume any upon climbing the wall. Once in position, two of them darted out from the sides.

The two that darted out where the diversion, and luckily so. It seemed that there had been a trap set for Nozomi, and she watched as one of the clones disappeared in a puff of smoke, and a sand spike punctured the air that it had previously been. The other clone continued on, having avoided the spike trap. Nozomi grinned and then the other clone on the top of the monolith revealed itself, leaping off the top towards Suteki. Nozomi then ran around to the side that the clone had been sand spiked, as if she were Suteki, the advancing of two 'Nozomi' might make her back up, and she would withdraw that way. Regardless of what happened to the two clones, who would attempt to dodge anything that Suteki did, Nozomi identified where Suteki was and, if her back was turned to face the clones and deal with them, Nozomi would run as stealthily as possible, to get within the 5 meters required to hit the girl with her Petal Storm Jutsu. However, if Suteki was pointed to face where she could see the real Nozomi, then the blonde girl would simply charge forward, pushing her body to its utmost as she attempted to dodge any sort of attack that might come her way, still attempting to get within the 5 meters, or as close as possible.

Regardless of Suteki's positioning, Nozomi would then barrage her with the Petal Storm Jutsu upon getting in to the required distance, figuring that with her having left a trail of sand behind, some of which was still behind the wall, and the rest of which had been used to set a trap for Nozomi, who had sprung it with her clone, Nozomi reasoned that she would be running low on her sand. And if not, then oh well, Nozomi would just have to barrel through the girl with everything she had. It would have been an intimidating sight, especially for anybody who couldn't handle to pressure of such an intense attack. Indeed, anyone without nerves of steel would perhaps find themselves crumbling under the pressure. Nozomi may have been small, but in that instant, she was a scary blur of force to be reckoned with.

The Petal storm was only the start of her assault. Nozomi switched into gathering lightning based chakra into her hands, and striking forward, now that she'd gotten herself into melee range. If she wasn't quite able to reach Suteki, Nozomi would release the chakra gathered into her hands, and a meter wide wave of lightning chakra would shoot out of her hand, traveling forward at 10 m/s, instantly travelling to the opponent in a straight line. Finishing off her barrage, Nozomi knew that regardless of any defense the girl could have thrown up, it wouldn't withstand her clan's techniques, not when utilizing her taijutsu strikes with the Dance of the Misty Petals. The liquid like chakra once again enveloped her hands as Nozomi proceeded to lay a flurry of strikes out, all aimed at the general direction of Suteki's torso, in various places. Once her assault was over, Nozomi leapt back, having let go of the technique, and for added measure, as she was leaping away, quick drew her shock bullet jutsu, peppering the area the girl was at with all of the 15 shots she was allowed, spreading them out, but firing quickly so it was almost like a sheet of electric bullets was heading towards her opponent. Granted, it was a fairly weak jutsu, but every hit counted in a fight like this, especially considering Nozomi had just used everything offensively that she was capable of, and was now the one who would be forced to play the defensive.

Although, if it worked out like she planned, her opponent would be injured, whether moderately or severely would still remain to be seen, but Nozomi would be pretty surprised if she'd thrown everything she had at her and didn't manage to get so much as a scratch on her opponent. She'd never been so aggressive in her life, but against opponents who had made it this far into the Chuunin Exams, she kind of had to. Nozomi was breathing rather heavily, her body feeling the burst of speed she'd used in order to close the gap between them. Her eyes were a bit darker than they'd been, the illness she was born with showcasing the drop in her chakra reserves. As Nozomi used up chakra, her eyes grew more and more dim and dull instead of the vibrant electric blue and green they usually were. Panting heavily, Nozomi waited to see what the results of her attacks would be, already preparing for whatever would come next.

After the short moment of time she had, Suteki stopped at about 16 meters from the wall.  The young girl noticed that the monolith she erected was no longer being attacked.  Nozomi was certainly up to something.  Though, so was she so she decided to wait for her opponent to make the next action.  Since Suteki couldn't see her opponent, it was pointless to attack with the sand on the other side of the wall, after all, she could easily miss the attack.  Sand continued to pour from her gourd around her feet.  She watched, time seeming to slow down within those few seconds.  Than her opponent showed her face from the other side and a huge spike ripped towards the enemy, plunging into the enemy, than another showed.

Clones, a good use of a diversion.  Though, with so many fakes, she wouldn't be able to tell whom was the real enemy.  She didn't need to play that disadvantageous of a game.  The young girl knew she could easily be out flanked by a fake and end up playing into the enemies hands.  A horrible game of 2+ cat and mouse.  She would have to stand her ground and take out any fakes that would show up, and just be extremely defensive in this situation.  Perhaps an opportunity would also present itself?

She was to surprised by the other one to release another sand spike in time, but the diversion worked in Nozomi's favor for now.  One down, another running just away from the left over stream.  She was just about to jump away, returning the the withdraw stratagy as she saw another figure appear at the top of the monolith.  Chances pointed towards it being the real Nozomi, though she just made a critical mistake.  Nozomi (clone) jumped off the top of the monolith towards her, and was free falling down tot he ground.  Suteki moved the small amount of sand in the area together, grinding the ground into a powder than formed a spike reaching up towards the next target.  The spike was a sure hit as the figure couldn't maneuver in mid air to avoid it.

To her anguish the other target was still around, and she would deal with that one as well, using her Senbon.  Though, if this one turned out to be the real Nozomi, she had just let her get within 8 meters of her.  The sand swirled below her feet, a shell starting to form in front of her.  She grabbed four of her senbon and tossed them towards Nozomi (clone) in a spread out horizontal formation to try and hit her no matter.  The senbon wouldn't kill her, but with the shield up, she could hit her with a sand spike as she made contact with the shield.

That was when she noticed the other target creep out from the Monolith.  "Damn.", she uttered, thinking it was another possible fake.  She started to form the sand behind her, and would repeat the possible attack with senbon and spike on this one, though this fake was extremely fast.  More sand poured out quicker this time from her gourd, forming the remainder shield all around her this time.  Suteki tossed more 2 senbon out towards the faster target, unable to grab more in the panic.

Nozomi got right on top of her in the next second and a large spike would form out as the target tossed a punch right into a small opening in the shield.  Several petals managed to make it inside, scratching her arm up that was extended from tossing the senbon, easily tearing her glove up, though some of her hand was protected partial from the kunai and senbon held within.  Along with her arm, a small portion of her side was pelted, a few holes within her clothing.  The rest pelted the wall of sand keeping her somewhat safe.  Several strikes could be heard outside upon the wall, one after another. 'This wall might not hold up.'  The pain in her arm was decent, but nothing she couldn't fight through.  She raised her hands together and dished out some hand signs as the dome of sand was now packed full of mist.

More blows against the sand defense as several lightning jutsu pelted the dome and it started to crack as each shot hit it.  She could feel the mist shift and exit the holes.  Her defense was quickly coming to an end.  Suteki jumped back into her shield of sand and collapsed it as mist poured out through the back, going back 15 meters and to the sides 8 meters.  As last shot hit the dome, shattering what little dome was around the front and the mist poured forward going out 8 meters.  The rest of the mist just covered the area thicker than usual, or dispersed slightly when exiting the front of the dome.

Suteki jumped back away from where the attacks were being made, than sideways towards the edge of the cloud in a general direction closer to the center of the arena, as fast as possible.  Her opponent could probably be within the cloud, perhaps just barely, but hopefully the cloud would confuse her for a moment as she regained herself.  Hopefully Nozomi would be on edge, and have some difficulty seeing, thinking an attack was coming from ahead or close by giving her a little time.

Suteki hoped that she managed to remove all the clones prior to being attacked, if not than she was losing by a greater margin than she had wanted.  Losing, that was her current state.  The young girl couldn't be sure if the spike had hit her enemy, though it seemed like it would have before the dome completely closed.  If not, than with the wounds on her arm, she was at a fair disadvantage.

She needed to end this tactic.  She saw what the girl had to dish out, and was now in a fairly poor spot.  Every jutsu she had seen before, plus a few new ones were used, not including that academy clone jutsu.  She couldn't have had to many more jutsu to pull from.  It was her turn to attack.

Suteki moved along one edge of the cloud running as fast as her tiny legs could take her.  She ran straight ahead so she could get a good view of her opponent if she were on the other side of the cloud, and have some distance from her  Soon enough though she would make visual contact with her opponent.  Her opponent would be about 13m away from her.  If she wasn't watchful, Suteki might have just been unnoticed.  A torrent of wind would start to form behind her.  Suteki made a few hand signs and along with this wind forming behind her, she would breath wind into her undamaged hand and as the wind swept passed her, charge towards her opponent.

The wind rushed passed her, hitting her opponent before.  The wind would possible knock her back, and hopefully onto the ground.  Either way she ran as fast as she could than jumped along with the wind, using it to gain speed and height just outside of 10m.  The little girl would than launch the vortex at 7m.  She would unleash the small furious vortex of wind straight towards her opponent's chest if she still stood unless..  If unnoticed or knocked over onto the ground, she would take the chance to aim for the head, hopefully knocking her opponent out, flat on to there back if still standing, or making them dizzy and confused.  The attack would be complimented by another vortex, than another, each aimed at Nozomi's chest or available best position and each at a closer distance as she soared through the air.  If she had her way, the last shot would be point blank, and straight at her face, complimented by a headbutt and tackle, even better if she was on the ground, body slamming the girl.  Though with her lightweight, it probably wouldn't do to much damage, though the gourd might help some.

The girls enemy was a taijutsu user, so it wouldn't be to prudent to get to close for to long.  If all things went according to plan, she would roll away and jump back as fast as she could, gaining some distance from Nozomi, and running back towards her monolith, gather back some sand that she had dispersed before.  Though, it would be luck to have everything go according to plan.

It was useless to hide the fact that she could control the sand now.  Perhaps if needed, she might be able to use it, or maybe persuade her opponent from attacking.  The girl breathed with a harshness, though keeping her stance near the edge of the monolith, leaning on it slightly.  Blood soaked her clothing, though most of it couldn't be seen against the dark blue, but a wet streak could be seen on the earth monolith if close enough.  Suteki would spread the sand out and gather more from behind and in front, except for the wet sand that the girl had soaked, gathering more and more trying to seem ominous.  Suteki was breathing hard, tired from the expenditure of chakra and energy that she just dished out within that onslaught.  The young girl took in a deep breath, trying to control her breathing, "We both put up quite a bit of a fight huh.  It seems these people got there moneys worth."Suteki would bow to her opponent, though keeping a close eye on her.  Suteki breathed in again, slowing her heavy breathing to normal and again she spoke loudly, slightly slow and with a murderous deepness to her voice, "Though,..I am going to take this fight one way...or another."

The proctor would move closer to keep a closer eye on the action, this fight was coming to an end soon enough.  The crowd was on edge to see this fight progressing fairly well, and with quite a bit of theatrical area based effects.  You could never get this much excitement from watching something similar from a movie screen.

OOC: Clarifying where I'm coming from with my post -->
Spoiler:
Also, yes, you would need to use Supernatural Walking in order to stay rooted, as the jutsu specifies that it is centered behind you and thus affects you as well. "and the burst of wind is always created around the user's body in such a way that the wind hits them too." So to be clear you're at 30/115 chakra now? Because if so, I also believe you missed a jutsu in your last post as well.
Spoiler:
That would connotate eroding the ground to make more sand in order to have more to use, if I'm not mistaken.
Spoiler:
That would place it at 15/115. Correct me if I am wrong about that, please, I just want to make sure that things are as they should be.

Nozomi's plan had gone off quite successfully if she was going to be completely honest. Sure, she'd lost her clones, but that didn't mean much to her. They were only really meant as a diversion to begin with. The first one had been ripped through by a sand spike almost instantly. Judging by the sand spike on the other side of the monolith than the clone had been summoned on, the one that had climbed had also been killed. Also, considering the senbon had flown straight through her final clone, it disappeared and that left Nozomi and Suteki as the sole remaining bodies in the arena.

With Nozomi close now, as she was letting out the stream of her Petal Storm, Nozomi saw a sand spike leaping towards her, far too quickly for her to react. It seemed that there wasn't much she could do, Nozomi couldn't dodge out of the way in time, it was coming too quickly from the sand barrier, but then it simply stopped, no more than a few inches in front of Nozomi's chest. The young blonde would grin. It appeares that Suteki underestimated the distance between the two of them. Her spike was about 2 meters long, and Nozomi was still about 2 meters and a few inches give or take. Momentum kept Nozomi travelling forward as her Petal Storm smashed into the barrier, but it was a quick adjust to the side to avoid running into the spike, and even then it was close.

And then her barrage smashed into the barrier, which held up quite well. The wave of lightning smashed into the barrier, and then Nozomi's own clan jutsu followed suit, breaking through. Nozomi felt the contact of the other girl and watched as the barrier started to fall apart from where she'd broken through, as her flurry of punches and strikes went through. Her attacks had penetrated the barrier successfully, and then as Nozomi had been jumping back, she'd shot the bullets through the opening in a spray. To Nozomi's amazement, mist was pouring out through the crumbling barrier. Nozomi knew the mist well, it was a Water Jutsu technique, Hidden Mist. However, she had the satisfaction of hearing her bullets sizzle with the contact of her opponent. The break through was incredible, there wasn't any way she could have dodged that. Neither Nozomi nor Suteki probably expected that to happen.
--
Now wasn't the time for celebrating though. Nozomi had already wasted enough time thinking about things as it was. Nozomi noticed that she was on the verge of the mist, her back easily exposed. If it was her, Nozomi would have circled around, and seeing as there wasn't any counter attack from in front of her, that's exactly what she'd expect. Swivelling quickly, Nozomi could vaguely make out the blurred signs of movement outside of the misty haze in front of her. As she'd expected. The counter attack was now about to begin. Nozomi wasn't going to stand around idly though. Even as her opponent was weaving handsigns, Nozomi was also doing the same, the exact same that had no doubt been weaved in the sand barrier not even minutes before. Nozomi expelled out mist from her mouth, now hazing over not only the original area that was misted, but the fringes that she was at as well. She'd effectively doubled the line of mist that was over the area. Sure, it would obscure the crowd's vision, but that happened sometimes, and there wasn't much that could be done about it. If anything, the anticipation would make it more than worth it.

As she did so, however, it appeared a large burst of air smashed into Nozomi, picking her up as if she was a toy and throwing her backwards 15 feet. As she landed on her back, Nozomi felt air whip past her face and smash into the ground above her head, having just barely missed. If not for Nozomi obscuring herself with the mist and then being moved by the wind, it might have had truer aim. Nozomi rolled to her right, pulling out her kunai and 2 senbon from the utility pocket strapped to her thigh in the process. Once her roll was complete, Nozomi had a kunai blade held in her right hand and the 2 senbon slipped between the two gaps between the index to pointer finger of her left hand.

Another orb of air had been tossed apparantly, and this one hit Nozomi center mass, halting her roll through the force of it. It didn't hit as hard as she would have expected, considering the damage she'd heard from the first smashing into the ground. Although, Nozomi was soon to receive a couple more surprises. Once again rolling, but back to the left at her original position, so that she could try to stand up, Nozomi heard another collision with the ground where she'd been. Even moving quickly through the air and her vision obscured by mist, this girl was incredibly accurate. If not for the mist, she might not have missed any of them, and one had even been center mass. As Nozomi was about to stand back up though, the other girl flew straight into her, knocking Nozomi back down to the ground and skidding them both as she did so. The young girl was light, but the force of the blow was still something. She probably weighed only a little bit less than Nozomi did herself.

However, the damage was negligible. She'd be bruised later on, but nothing too bad. As Suteki's body connected with Nozomi's, Nozomi brought both of her hands up to brace the impact of the girl on her body. The result of that was Suteki being stuck with two senbon in her right shoulder, and the stab wound from Nozomi's Kunai on her left side near her stomach. The kunai having a grip allowed Nozomi to keep a hold of it, but the senbon stayed pierced into Suteki, unusable to Nozomi. It was quick reflexes that got it. With them sliding back, Nozomi had brought both of her knees up as hard as she could, hoping to connect with the other girl while they were connected, and then flip Suteki over Nozomi, backwards. As that would detangle them, Nozomi would roll and push herself back to her feet quickly, retreating into the safety of the mist, not running straight upon entering the obscuring safety, but instead veering off to the right, circling back in a large loop. All in all, she'd received some damage, but not enough to keep her down right now. Nozomi couldn't be sure about her opponent though, it had all been such a blur that it was difficult to recall. She kept a tight hold on her kunai though, now held in reverse. And Nozomi would now wait.

Her opponent wounded, pretty heavily from the looks of it, all Nozomi needed to do was wait her out. Of course, her own illness might become an issue as well, but it wouldnt' be too debilitating, just place them on a more even playing field. And then she heard speaking. It was Suteki. She sounded like she was trying to sound calm, but in reality, Nozomi knew she was ragged. She still seemed to think that she'd win, and Nozomi had to admit it to herself. It was possible. But neither of them would be able to continue for too long, certainly not make a large fight like that. Nozomi's chakra was running lower than she'd like, and from what she noticed, Suteki's was probably just about the same if not a little worse. This fight would draw to a close soon enough one way or another. And Suteki did get one thing right. These people did indeed get their money's worth. And Nozomi had put up one hell of a fight, one she wasn't planning on losing.

OOC: Sequence for clarification. Nozomi used the Hidden Mist Jutsu to obscure your vision. Using that, she was able to avoid getting hit by two of your air balls (Too be fair, you were riding on the wind, which would be difficult, while aiming at Nozomi, who was knocked back into a misty vision obscuring fog, and trying to hit her while she was rolling.). Then as you body slammed Nozomi, she knee'd you as hard as she could while sticking you with 2 senbon (Still lodged in you) and a Kunai (which she kept her grip on) and flipped you over her, using your own momentum to do so. Then ran into the mist to hide.

Nozomi was breathing rather heavily. As she'd been hit by the one ball in the stomach, it had winded her slightly. She'd have to get some armor eventually, to protect herself from things like that. Of course, now wasn't exactly the time to be thinking about that. They were still in combat. Nozomi's plan had succeeded, and the mist had done its job. Of course, she'd have liked for it to stay around, but instead the wind gust had blown it away. However, the momentary cover had been enough to mess up the attack so Nozomi didn't take them all. With her opponent now bleeding rather heavily, and already injured, Nozomi was in a surefire advantage. Facing Suteki, instead of running away as she would have if the mist had stayed, Nozomi also bowed, keeping her eyes on the small girl. In short, the girl was a wreck. Multiple slashes with petals still stuck in some, the two senbon also stuck in her right shoulder. Even the knee strike and throw seemed to have done more damage than Nozomi would have guessed. She supposed it made sense, the girl probably wasn't used to taking hits, judging by the defenses she had displayed.

"You're right. This was a great fight. But now it's time to draw it to an end. I'm sorry, but I can't afford to lose now. Not when I've put so much work into this. My honor and my pride are at stake. And Kaekio's watching me, I won't lose when I'm this close..." she said, bursting forward before she'd even finished speaking. This was it, all or nothing to win this fight. She'd rested enough that she was back to full speed. They weren't really all that far away from eachother to begin with, but Nozomi needed to finish this in one blow. Knowing it had been long enough that she could use the rising slice jutsu again, Nozomi started to string the signs again, spinning around as she finished and unleashed her jutsu. There was no doubt in Nozomi's mind, Suteki was too close. This attack would not miss. This attack would be the final one thrown hopefully. At the distance she was from Suteki, no more than a few meters, Nozomi knew that it couldn't miss. Her opponent looked exhausted, nearly out of chakra, badly hurt, and perhaps no more plays left. "Water Style, Rising Slice!" Nozomi's voice called out confidently. The jutsu left her hands and travelled towards Suteki's form at its breakneck speed. Almost as soon as it left her hand, the jutsu would reach its target. Nozomi's feet landed on the ground, her Kunai held up in case she had been wrong, ready to use to defend or attack if need be.

OOC: Basing response off of prior post, as I stated prior that I needed an extended amount of time to respond.

Nozomi stopped just short of the large needle that protruded from the barrier she had put up.  Just shy of running into the tip, her attack still proceeded to move forward beyond.  The sand spike stopped her movement almost to the limits of her jutsu, but they still came towards her.  Suteki instinctively jumped back, hitting the back of her sand shield as it closed up just as the petals slammed into it.  She breathed for a moment as she felt the sand sheild starting to give away.  Sand corroding from it with each strike.  She would have to run, hand signs were made as mist started to spew from her mouth shortly after.  She couldn't see within the barrier anyways, so once it was broken, the mist would confuse and block out her escape somewhat.  When she breathed the mist out, a moment of pause of attacks happened, than a loud bang came from ahead.  More sand crumbled and she knew it wouldn't take much more to break it as she could feel a small amount of air enter.  Suteki would jump backwards degrading the sand barrier behind her into nothing just prior to the third strike would break the front of her defensive dome.  Mist exploded in every direction blocking her view of her escape.  But her opponent wouldn't let up.

Suteki was moving as fast as she could, but it wasn't fast enough.  Bullets of lightning were streamed about, as she heard the crackles pass by.  Two strikes had hit her on the arm, and another into her upper chest.  She turned around trying to avoid any other hits as another hit her side along the same arm from before.  She could than feel several impact her sand gourd that covered most of her body.  One after another hit, as now she held the sand within to absorb the strikes as much as possible.

As soon as they stopped, she turned and went for the exit of the mist, still moving at top speeds.  She was going to go onto the offensive this time around.  The burns on her arm and near her shoulder hurt quite a bit, the one on her side she could withstand for now.  She made her way back to where she had left the opponent and saw her standing their seeming to wait for an attack to come from the front.

The attack started with Great Breakthrough, pushing the girl over and onto her back.  She slid 15 feet away as the Hidden Mist would disperse.  The girl also went on the defensive, but just shy of her initial attack which would remove her Hidden Mist as well.  Suteki made the ground up than jumped into the air 10 meters away, being carried by the wind.  She would use a medium range attack, sending a turbulent ball of wind straight for the girls head.  The strike was just shy of her face, kicking gravel and grass into the air with the impact.  Nozomi started to roll away just as Suteki released a second ball of wind which struck the girl in the chest.  The attack wasn't as strong as the first, but would shread the girls clothing, showing a countless amount of tiny 1/4 inch slices in the area it struck.  It covered a good portion of the girls body, easily causing her to bleed badly hiding the amount of cuts.  If the first strike had hit, it would have been worse.  Suteki wished she made that first strike a chest shot, she certainly would have hit her.

Since the girl rolled away, Suteki would have to change her strategy a little, landing on the ground to fire her last shot.  She didn't expect the girl to try and roll away, but it gained ground to avoid being hit by a taijutsu.  Just as she was about to land, Nozomi headed back to her original location.  It was going to lead to hand to hand combat, but Suteki would make a strong offense either way.  She reserved her last ball in her hand, waiting for the landing to strike hard, at point blank.  Nozomi was right under her as she landed with her foot shoved down, aimed to her right upper arm.  She brought her knee down onto the girls stomach, hopefully knocking the air out of her even for a moment, and adding to the damage of the second ball of wind.  Suteki rode Nozomi like a sled a few feet, the impact and wind still acting on them both ever slightly as it died down.  Suteki brought her hand forward released her final ball of wind right into the girls upper chest.  Her chest would be just as messed up as her stomach.  But the girl had a surprise for her.

Nozomi swung her arm up, striking at the young girls shoulder with two kunia, adding a new wound onto her other arm now.  Than she raised her other arm, though slightly pinned by the girls knee, she still managed to raise it and hit her lower stomach.  Suteki tried to block both strikes, lessening the amount of depth the wounds would go, but the strikes would still pierce.  Suteki fell forward from the pain and movement of the slide as Nozomi pushed her knees into her lower back butt region, kicking her off and she rolled onto the ground, the momentum of the slide still acting on them, Suteki most of all.

Suteki pushed off the ground and watched as her opponent ran off and circled partial looking back at her.  Suteki pushed off the ground and got onto one knee, but she couldn't push off the ground hard enough to get back onto her feet.  The senbon were still inside her shoulder, and the kunai now gone, adding to the slight blood loss.  Suteki put her hands onto her knee,  watching the girl closely.  She would have to resort to her last few jutsu, though perfect for this circumstance.  She would need to draw her in a little closer though.

Suteki was breathing hard, tired from all that happened within that onslaught.  The young girl took in a deep breath, trying to control her breathing, "We both put up quite a bit of a fight huh.  It seems these people got there moneys worth."Suteki would bow to her opponent, though keeping a close eye on her.  Suteki breathed in again, slowing her heavy breathing to normal and again she spoke loudly, slightly slow and with a murderous deepness to her voice, "Though,..I am going to take this fight one way...or another."  The blood from her wounds would be hidden partial from her darker clothing.  Though some of the white would be stained.

Suteki was ready to release her genjutsu now.  As soon as the girl was (unless already at) about 15 meters, she would arrange her fingers into the seal.  This genjutsu wouldn't add to the damage physically to the girl, but it might be enough when combined with the strikes before to intice the girl to either give up, or to trick the proctor into thinking the damage to the girl was a lot more than initially thought.  The genjutsu was able to make a small scratch like that of a paper cut intensify into something that would feel like a knife wound, it could only be imagined what the countless scratches on the girls chest would feel like.  All she would need is the girl to look down at her wounds.  "After all, look at you, and your practical exposing yourself to the crowd."

The young girl would have preferred if the proctor was near by herself or the girl, getting him into the genjutsu as well.

Nozomi was breathing rather heavily. As she'd been hit by the one ball in the stomach, it had winded her slightly. Somewhere, she'd also felt the girl get off a hit, which was surprising, considering everything going on, but it was negligable and could be ignored for the moment. My honor and my pride are at stake." she responded. And then Suteki mentioned that Nozomi was practically exposing herself to the crowd. In wonder, Nozomi's mind went back to the day Sero had sliced her shirt and midsection down the middle, and blushed, looking down, falling for the trick. What she saw, and what the Proctor also saw, was a bloody midsection.

The Proctor walked forward, holding up his hand as if to say something, but then frowned, shaking his head slightly. He'd seen the wound when it hit. Sure, it looked somewhat painful, but even still, it shouldn't cause that much damage. Then he remembered something, he'd been informed about before the fight. Of course, the little one was also a genjutsu user. Without drawing any attention to himself, the proctor used Kai on himself, and noticed the wound go back to normal. He smiled slightly. That young girl was rather brilliant, trying to get him to fall for that. Simply ingenious. He'd make sure to note that to the perspective leaders. It might interest them.

Meanwhile, Nozomi felt more injured than she should. She knew something was off, but at this point, there wasn't much she could do about it. Of course, her eyes knew something was deceiving her. She'd only been hit by one jutsu, which was weaker than the original thrown. She'd only been struck once or twice, and even that wasn't too bad. She'd seen and felt the wound before hand. They hadn't been that deep, but it looked like somebody had stabbed her, over and over and over. Logic told her she shouldn't even be standing, and just looking at it hurt her, but there was nothing she could do. That just meant she had to finish the fight while she still could. Otherwise, she'd perhaps bleed out and die. The girl who was ill, the girl who was resistant to medical treatment. "I don't care. I ... and Kaekio's watching me, I won't lose when I'm this close..." she said, bursting forward before she'd even finished speaking. Only the resolve that Kaekio was cheering her on kept her going at this point. Before meeting that girl, perhaps she would have broken and quit, but that wasn't her anymore. This was it, all or nothing to win this fight. She'd rested enough that she was back to full speed. The girl repelled her genjutsu's effects upon looking down, fighting through it.  The pain should have been miserable and constant.  This girl wasn't affected by the site of her blood, or the genjutsu effect of increased blood.  The pain would have been several times greater now, but she had something to fight for.  The girl though struggled through it and seemed determined.  "Dammit."  Suteki muttered under her breath.  She was exhausted, to a point she had never been before.  The young girl couldn't move from where she was, so any actions would have to take place in her knelt position.  She knew she was a sitting duck, and could easily be defeated. Though, she would have to push herself further.  They both started to weave hand signs, Suteki's eyes blurring somewhat.  She would have to shoot at the girl and hope it would hit anywhere.

Suteki was displaying her attunement to the shinobi way.  Doing anything to accomplish the mission at hand.  The mission was to destroy her enemy, and even if she wouldn't walk away from the fight, she would do just that. "Water Style, Rising Slice!", was spoken in tandem, though softer from Suteki.  Water started to form from both of the girls at the same time and jets of water rushed from both of them.  The attack was quick, as the crowd awed, hooped and hollered as the attacks met each other in between the two girls.  The two waves crashed, sending water in every direction.

Suteki fell to the ground as the waters from the attacks met.  She felt the cool drops run all over her, though couldn't discern what had happened.  She hoped her attack finished her opponent, though she wouldn't realize the results for some time.

The proctor stepped forward impressed by the girls luck and tenacity, dropping his weapon to his sides and relaxing.  She managed to defend herself from the attack, without the need of the proctor to step in, which he was certainly already in place.  He had vanished from site and appeared, standing in front of the girl draped on the ground, his weapon with chakra running through being released.  He had prepared to dispatch the oncoming wave of water and end the fight, but the need wasn't required.  But the fight still came to and end.  The proctor waved for the medics to enter and take both of the girls away or treat their injuries on the spot.  He stepped towards the girl still standing, going in between the two of them than turned toward the crowd.  "Due to her opponent unable to stay conscious, our winner for the third round is Himitsu, Nozomi of Kirigakure."

A large portion of the crowd cheered, some confused by why the girl loss consciousness.  The attacks countered each other, spreading a large wave of water over a huge area into droplets.  Though it seemed like a stalemate, one girl fell, and the other still stood.  Eventually the excitement ate through the confusion and they too started to cheer.  Even those that lost their bets enjoyed the fight, though certainly wished things had gone the other way.

The medics made it out to the girl on the ground first, checking her vitals and healing the visible wounds quickly.  The proctor walked over to the girl standing, as she was being checked.  The genjutsu was still in place, and pain would still be coursing through her.

Nozomi smiled, deafened by the roar of the crowds. She couldn't hear, but suddenly everything faded away. It occured to her that she'd won the match. All of this swam through her mind at the same time. As the proctor came over to make sure she was okay, Nozomi looked at him blankly. He was speaking to her, Nozomi could tell he was asking if she was okay. Her eyes trained on him, and her mouth opened. Nozomi went to speak, but no words came out. She pressed her hand to her stomach, where the genjutsu was still affecting her, and pulled it away. To her, she saw a hand soaked in blood, but that was simply the genjutsu. The stress of the fight finally caught up with her. Nozomi coughed, and blood came up, actual blood.

Her illness in full effect, Nozomi all but collapsed, coughing up blood everywhere. More than the fight had taken out of her. As she shifted in and out of conciousness, Nozomi's mind wandered to Kaekio. "I.... won......for you Kae..." she said as she finally welcomed the dark envelope of unconciousness. She'd be ready for the next round, but for now she needed some rest in the medical facilities.

OOC: The match is finally over! I can't believe I won, I was so scared I wouldn't. You did amazing, I really loved this fight! Thank you very much Suteki :3 You really pushed me.

Akira watched the conclusion of the fight with keen interest in his eyes. He had not cared to sit in the chair set aside for Kage as he prefered to smoke. The cigarette in between his middle and pointer finger as he pulled it from his lips. Letting out a puff of grey smoke that quickly trailed away from him. The conclusion of the fight wasn't disappointing. Though his representative had failed in the end. He could only hope this didn't reflect on Iwa as a whole. But these were fights amongst the lowest ranks. He hadn't expected the participants to be invincible. Especially from a squad other then his own. Not that the other sensei's weren't capable but Akira pushed his students to the breaking point and passed with near impossible tasks each time. Still he smiled at the display. The girls had at least made it close.

Still as the proctor called the fight Akira flicked his cigarette away to land anywhere really. And then launched himself off the top of the stands. His form sailing over the crowds as he seemed to fly for a moment before gracefully landing near the scene. His yellow eyes looked up as the proctor prepared to remove him and they made eye contact. Something in Akira's eyes or the proctor recognizing him held the proctor back as Akira walked passed him. As Akira walked his entire form began to swirl with green medical chakra so that he was glowing green. When he reached Suteki Yaku he knelt down and his fingertip touched her transfering the chakra to her. Her whole body began to glow green as wounds began to heal to barely scars. Once that was done he picked her up and hoisted her over one shoulder and turned to the other medics.

"Tend to the other girl. She pushed herself pretty hard. Can't have her drowning in her own blood now. Iwa will tend to it's own."

With that he turned and walked out with the unconscious girl over his shoulder. His intent to take her to her room before the crowds could harass her. He could care less what the crowds thought of his intrusion as he left. Whispers of him being the Tsuchikage went rampant. Along with rumors the girl was his daughter or something of the sort. Scandalous.
