Haruna stood outside the large and rather run down park. Despite the vast number of genin available for public duties such as this, Konoha still had small bits of parkland that needed beautification. She easily carried the paint can with her, leaving her other supplies near the entrance, and headed over to the first of two benches. This one was structurally fine but needed repainting – thus she had brought the housepaint that had been sitting around in a storage cupboard just waiting for an enterprising genin to come along. She quickly got to work on repainting the bench, and she was done quickly. It wasn’t really all that hard, and the work was easy enough that she could use the time to think.

After finishing up the first bench she moved onto the second which was in a far worse state that the first. Some of the wood needed to be replaced, and some of it had already rotted away. She jogged back to the entrance and returned with the needed supplies in hand. She quickly removed the rotten and aged wood from the bench before efficiently replacing it with fresh replacements. After that she carefully tested the fittings out and painted the fresh wood over. After seeing the mismatching paint she decided to paint the whole bench, which used up the rest of her paint – it had been mostly used when she’d found it.

She then headed to the sadly under tended flower beds and began to remove the various weeds that were growing there. This took her the better part of an hour, and she was beginning to grow very bored of D-rank missions. She had dirt on her knees and she could only do so much to brush it off without water at hand.

Haruna then went over to entrance where she had left her supplies and gather those she would need to clear the rubbish away from the main pathway. She picked up the plastic bag and pointy metal thing, whatever they were called, and began to clean. She thought of what she would do with the 60 ryo she would gain for this mission as she did so, thankful that the supplies had been given to her – she had no wish to spend what little ryo she had to her name on supplies for a D rank mission. She continued to pick up any refuse left on the main pathway or just off it – she’d be here all week if she tried to go over every inch of the park looking for rubbish – and began to approach the end of the pathway.

A few people were standing around at the other end of the park – what looked to be a few different sets of parents and kids – and they waved at Haruna once they saw her. She waved back, making sure give the park’s only other occupants their space. They were civilians, but civilians were often actually rather appreciative to genin out on menial err- D-rank missions. Especially those with menial labour jobs.

Haruna had finished up her sweep of the main pathway and so she headed back to the other entrance to the park, where she would locate a bin and then leave. She passed a jogger and another genin on a D-rank before she reached the bin; into which she proceeded to dump the rubbish she’d picked up and placed in a large plastic bag. She gathered up the rest of her supplies and quickly returned them, before heading off to go get something to eat.

She’d have to do something with the meagre reward, but Haruna was most likely going to save it. She’d had her eye on an odachi for some time now, and she’d need every ryo she could find to buy one worth wielding.
