1Merchant Escort [C-Rank Mission] Empty Merchant Escort [C-Rank Mission] Sat Aug 31, 2013 6:11 pm

Matsu

Matsu

D-rank
Matsu had been wandering the town freely after the completion of his last mission. By turning the mission in to the Hokage, he would be accredited with its completion and money would be mailed to him for the job. It wouldn't be much, considering it was only a small D-Ranked mission, but it was better than working for a living as a salesman or a paper-boy.

It was probably about mid-day at this point. Matsu hadn't checked a clock in several hours and he had a terrible sense of time and direction that made him lose track of time. It was possible for him to go into a store to buy a pair of clothes at morning, only to realize he was leaving at closing time because he'd lost track of time. That in mind, he was still always able to get things done in an orderly fashion and on time, even if he didn't realize how quickly he was getting his work done. In a way, it made him more efficient because he didn't slack off or take breaks just because of thinking he was ahead.

Walking around the town had bored him thus far. Even to the point of wanting to do another mission. It made him question his tastes in fun, but it was money anyway, so he didn't really care. Coming to one of the mission boards that had been stationed throughout the village, Matsu would gently pluck a mission from the board. Running his fingers along the top of the envelope, he would slide it open, unfolding the mission within.

This was just the type of excitement he had been looking for, this wasn't just a mission about teaching children the ways of being a Genin, this was an escort. A C-Ranked escort mission at that. It would be the second mission he'd ever done and he was excited to get involved. From a quick skimming of the information given to him, he was to be just escorting a merchant into the village. The guy had to be fairly wealthy if he was hiring ninja just to escort him from one village to another and he couldn't help but question the the integrity of the things he was selling. Who would want mere merchant dead? Putting the thoughts behind him, he would press his hands together, hiding them within the sleeves of his robe as he began to walk towards the start of the mission.

Walking with a quick pace, he hadn't even noticed the sun was past its peak in the sky and was beginning its downward end of the arc in the cycle. Luckily he had already reached the rendezvous point and the police officers were standing by to assist in the escort. In the middle of the police force sat a fat, balding man, he couldn't be any younger than 45. The only thing worse than his physical appearance was the choice of colors he'd decided to wear. What man in his right man decides to travel wearing neon colors. Matsu wouldn't allow these thoughts to change the expression on his face however, as few things ever actually did. His smile which stretched from ear to ear would remain strong as he approached the man.

Matsumura Hashikawa, at your service. Said the boy, his hands still pressed together within his robe. The man would stand up, only reaching to about the height of 5'6" in stature, meaning he'd have to slightly look up to Matsu who stood at 5'10". Letting out a belch, he'd look at the boy, brushing his hand on his own shirt and holding it out to shake.

So you're the ninja eh? He stood before Matsu, spitting a bit of tobacco onto the ground with his hand still out for Matsu to shake. Matsu blew off the hand, simply bowing his head in respect for the older man. Damn... Your eyes sure are... Closed. Can you even see me kid? The man would laugh loudly as he looked at Matsu's face, pointing out that his eyes were seemingly closed. Matsu's face would turn suddenly serious, though not angry. It was a joke that Matsu simply find funny. Hey, calm down, I'm only joking buddy! The man would move quickly, jumping and putting Matsu in a head lock. The smell of his armpits was enough to nearly knock anyone unconscious.

The police were quick to react, getting the larger man off of Matsu who at this point was a tad annoyed by the man. Well come along. We're not far from the village and my job is to get you there as quickly and safely as possibly. The police will be about, but will not walk with us. He would make sure the man was beside him before he began to walk. He didn't want the man out of his line of sight. Even though the Police force were patrolling, it was possible for someone to slip through the defense. Matsu himself was still curious as to what type of work the man was doing, what type of items he was selling that would make anyone even want to kill him. However, his job was not to ask questions, it was to escort him. If it turned to be a bad idea, he was sure there'd be a mission later down the line to hunt him down.

Time passed as the two walked from the outer forestry to the actual village gates. The man was safely escorted with no actual problems. It was mind numbingly boring to the point where Matsu didn't actually remember any of the happenings during the walk. It was just a calm stroll from the forestry to the gates. Something he hadn't done in a long time. Anyway, dropping the man off at the gates, he was greeted by a Chuunin who stamped his mission complete and took the merchant from there. Refolding the envelop, he'd place it in his robe, heading towards the Hokage's Administration building. More missions done, more money in his pocket. That's what was important right now.

1049/1000 Words. Mission Complete.
