Arena Four:

After completing the opening stage of the Chuunin Exams, Juyo had gone through quite a struggle within himself.  Standing before the Kazekage and the other twenty-one participants, all he could think about was the little girl that had died.  He looked down at his arms, holding them up as if inspecting them.  They looked the same as before, but yet felt different.  The girl had died in his arms, these arms that he stared so intently at.  He could still see her blood on his arms, even though they had been scrubbed clean.  Flashes of the girl's bleeding neck came when he saw the little girl standing next to the Kazekage.  Juyo's head had already gone through the "what if's" and the "should have's" countless times before the final round of the Exams had started.  Now all that he felt was guilt.  It was his inability that had let the girl die.  Maybe if he was a Chuunin, he'd have known better.

A call from his friend, Ikki, woke Juyo from his dark thoughts.  Coming back to reality, Juyo approached the bracket board and searched for his name.  Finding his name in the top right, he began to smirk once more.  His opponent would be Uchiha, Ukio and they'd be fighting in Arena Four: The Palace Courtyard.  He took a quick walk over to the arena, thinking back on his fight with Ukio when they were in Kumo.  It had proved to be a good match, and apparently gave him valuable information.  The knowledge gained from their sparring match back home was now crucial to his becoming a Chuunin.

Taking position on one side of the Courtyard opposite of its entrance, Juyo waited for Ukio to arrive.  While waiting, he took in his surroundings, making a note of what all he might be able to use.  A large statue of the first Kazekage stood in the middle of the courtyard in a concrete fountain, water flowing from his hands.  Around him were sandy brown structures and pillars that lined three sides of the brick courtyard.  The fourth side, to the north, was a limestone stairway that led to large wooden palace doors.  The doors had shining silver handles that glinted in the bright sunlight that came from above.  Juyo lowered his white hood, zipped up his green jacket, and patted his pockets for the kunai he had brought with him.  It was just a matter of time before he was going to use them.

Ukio passed the first event and was deeply excited in doing so. He realized he didn't have it as hard as the others, but he didn't much care about what they did or not. He walked up and gathered around the others to listen to the Kazekage. The tournament was about to start and Ukio wondered who was going to be his opponent this time around. He looked at all the genin around him, trying to pin point who exactly he was going to have to fight.

After everything was said and done, we were all sent off to our arenas. Ukio took a look at the board and found his name, with juyo's directly under it. "The boy who's afraid of snakes..", he thought to himself, smirking that his squadmate would be his opponent. Unfourtunately, he would have to change his entire tactic this time. He would have to make sure he was on the counter defensive with this match.

He made his way to the arena where he see the Kazekage and fountain together. After scanning the area momentarily he spotted Juyo, and with a smirk he clapped his hands. "Another spar I guess", his tone sarcastic, but this time he was going to win, and this time he didn't have to use the blunt edge of a sword, but he couldn't erase the fact that this was his squadmate. He wouldn't kill him and hoped the same from Juyo. "Let's dance shall we?", Ukio formed his stance, gripping the sheathe under the hilt and holding it in his hand, the demon sword unleashed.

His mind wandered as he waited for Ukio to appear.  Thoughts and images of the little girl coming back to him.  Fighting them off with a good shake of his head, he tried to focus on the present.  Today was his chance on becoming Chuunin and to push himself to the next level so that he would be better prepared for the future.  Juyo gripped two kunai from his pouch as he saw Ukio first enter.  Ukio was the only one Juyo needed to concentrate on.  It was he who was in Juyo's way from becoming a better shinobi, and from becoming a shinobi that would've kept the little girl alive.

Juyo watched carefully with his green eyes, a hard look on his face, as Ukio stepped into the arena.  He had already gone over what all had happened in their last sparring.  It would be fortunate if he could repeat it, but every battle was different from the last.  As Ukio drew his sword, Juyo ran straight at Ukio, a kunai in each hand.  This time it was he who would rush in first and he did so without batting an eye, his eyes locked onto Ukio's.

The last sparring, Ukio was the one who charged in with his sword.  Now Juyo decided to toy with Ukio, flipping the tables with his own charge.  There wouldn't be any holding back this match.  Juyo knew that this fight was nothing like a sparring match.  This fight was not for fun or for combat experience, it was for the right to be called Chuunin.  For the right to have stronger abilities and be strong enough to save others and kill disgusting filth like those men who had kidnapped the girl.  With this fight, Juyo would prove that he was worthy of being the shinobi who could have saved the girl in time!

In his straight forward charge, Juyo was going to try and start the match off with a bang. Running evenly with his illusionary self, Juyo would slide under Ukio's legs with both kunai held out to his sides to cut at his legs, specifically the knee joints to impede movement. Ukio was a runner and slasher, Juyo remembered, and going for the legs would be very important in this match. Meanwhile the Illusion Juyo would run straight at Ukio, slashing with the kunai in his right hand across Ukio's face and holding the left kunai in a ready for defense measures.

Ukio was watching him run straight at him, knowing the fight from before he had some genjutsu up his sleeve, and this time is was unorthodox for Juyo to even start the charge himself, a kunai versus a katana? Something was definitely up. Ukio was looking at how the figure was moving towards him, he looked at him really food, trying to find some kind of deficiencies around him, be it the dust or the shadow, whatever he could spot to figure it was a Genjutsu.

Ukio wasn't going to get trapped in that prison again, not now and not ever. Ukio wanted to play this one safe, leaping up onto the nearby roof to await what he would do next, in doing so he dodged the real Juyo, unbeknownst to him that he was going to strike. In the middle of his attack Ukio noticed that the dust and sand moved from the spot he was, he squinted his eyes and smiled, holding one perfect seal to break the genjutsu.

He saw Juyo laying on the ground after his slide, muttering a compliment from his lips, "Almost", it wasn't unlikely that Juyo may have found a few ways to get around Ukio, especially with the arsenal of jutsu he had. But Ukio wasn't one to be easily fooled. Being a specialist of genjutsu let him know that the slightest displacement of anything could be the easy find to any genjutsu, things people normally overlooked when locked inside them. He postured himself on the rooftop as he looked down to Juyo, "My turn" he said as he slammed his palms together to make a short string of seals. Moments later fog began to pour out of his mouth, concealing his body and spreading over the area. It felt moist like water, copying the hiding in mist technique.

Juyo slid to a stop, his kunai hitting nothing but air at his failed attempt to strike early.  He hadn't expected to hit Ukio, seeing as he'd used the genjutsu before in their spar.  Looking up at Ukio while getting to his feet quickly, he saw Ukio perform several hand seals, then blow out a heavy fog that enveloped him.  Juyo was at a loss for how Ukio was doing this, and started squinting through the fog in a weak attempt to track where Ukio was.  The fog was thick and he couldn't see a thing.  This wasn't good and needed to be fixed before Ukio came close with his katana.

Juyo was dead meat if the fight came to close range.  His attempt at charging was a part of a plan.  A plan that was ruined by whatever ninjutsu this was.  As Juyo tried to outrun the fog, hoping that it ended somewhere, he racked his brain on how Ukio managed to do ninjutsu.  He definitely saw the hand signs.  From the spar with Ukio, he didn't think he knew anything else other than Genjutsu and Bukijutsu.  That thought made Juyo stop.  Could it be Genjutsu?  Juyo looked around him, the fog too thick to even know if he'd been moving or not, it was just as thick as before.  Reaching his hand out and trying to feel the dampness in the fog, he found his hand soon became wet.  So was this Genjutsu or Ninjutsu?  Something was really messed up, but Juyo couldn't quite piece it together.  Hoping to do his best in his situation. He stood in a fighting stance, holding his kunai ready and keeping himself aware of his surroundings in case Ukio popped up for a sword attack.

The fog was thick as Ukio stared down to Juyo as he chuckled. It was his turn to strike and he wasn't going to miss it at all. Ukio leaped at the ground and landed into a crouch, building up force within his legs. He shot off like a dart, his left hand readied on the hilt of his sword, the sheathe turned upside down to release the blade into him. This was going to be a devastating attack, and it was going to have a large impact on Juyo.

In the last moment before he connected to Juyo, Ukio rolled his right shoulder down to his left, causing him to spiral into Juyo, his blade escaping the sheathe and drilling towards Juyo. If the technique connected to him it would slash his body in an X formation his next slash at the body. Ukio was prepared for any attempt to dodge, his feet ready to dart forward with the attack and continue his barrage. In the midst of it all he readied the sheathe to slide through his legs, stopping his body if he moved backwards, making the move even more devastating.

Being stuck in the fog did one thing to help Juyo: collect his thoughts.  Thinking on the puzzling fact that Ukio seemed to have performed Ninjutsu, Juyo's memory came flooding back of when Ukio had tried to use Ninjutsu to shock Juyo through his water whip.  That's right, he can't perform Ninjutsu!  Instantly Juyo Kaied himself, betting his jutsu and chakra use all on his memory.

The fog lifted just in time to see Ukio make his spinning attack, rolling his right shoulder into his left with great finesse.  That's my squadmate, alright.  Juyo leaped backwards away from the attack, his loose green jacket, however, still was grazed in the attack, breaking it's zipper lining open, revealing Juyo's black shirt underneath.  Landing safely on the fountain's water 5 meters from Ukio, Juyo decided he needed to add something new to the fight.

Clapping his hands together with lightning molded in his hands, he created just enough flash of light.  Activating a genjutsu immediately after which pushed water particles from the fountain into the air to make a ring of mist around Ukio.  So once the slight blinding effect wore off, as the Holy Flash wouldn't be as powerful in the mid Suna day, Juyo orchestrated the genjutsu to start with five clones forming from the ground and sandy structures, mirror imaging Juyo and his black tee shirt and clothing.  To further add reality into the fakeness of the genjutsu, Juyo said out loud from behind the ring of mist and in so having one of the clones appear to say, "Multi-Mist Clone Jutsu," while it held out a clone sign.

Juyo was safely standing behind the ring of mist which was giving off an illusionary surrounding similar to the real one around Ukio and thus hiding the real Juyo.  The illusionary clones slowly made their way to Ukio, each holding kunai in their hands.  He smiled to himself, waiting to see how Ukio would get out of this one.

Being blinded by the light he leaped back near the entrance to the arena. Ukio smile over to Juyo, he was starting to fight like himself, an if anything it would be openly exposed to Ukio. He knew one thing about Juyo, genjutsu. He had it and he would use it without a second thought, almost too privy with it, but he also needed to count into the equation that he uses ninjutsu as well. Ukio needed to fight Juyo like he was in a genjutsu at all times, weaken him and finally end the fight.

Ukio, watching these figures move around from the sand and ground raise an immediate red flag. Ukio knew things about him, First off he was not a special jonin, he wouldn't have doton for an element. He used the water whip and the holy flash in their last battle. "He's using genjutsu", he thought to himself. Juyo couldn't possibly use any technique that caused clones to reach out of the earth, or sand itself.

But how was Ukio to exploit this? He couldn't kai out of it an wasn't privy to inducing pain to himself, he was at a stalemate, for now. He would have to wait it out and engage when it was possible. For now he was vulnerable, and only because Juyo had more jutsu than him.

The genjutsu had worked.  Juyo smiled to himself as he moved the illusion clones forward, to attack Ukio.  There were just five clones in total, though soon there would be more.  Meanwhile, the real Juyo leaped up to the top of the first Kazekage's statue to best orchestrate his attacks and illusions.  Setting them up to surround Ukio, Juyo prepared himself for his first barrage of attacks.  Sending one clone towards Ukio on his right in a charge, kunai glinting in the sun.  This first clone's attack was meant for Ukio to dodge, but just in case, Juyo threw a kunai to Ukio's right shoulder which would make a cut similar to the illusion's slice across his shoulder.  The thrown kunai wouldn't be noticed in the illusion, as Juyo used his timing and orchestrating of the illusion to make the illusion's kunai look and feel real.  The angle of the illusion's slice would also match up perfectly to Juyo's thrown kunai.  Even if it was blocked by Ukio, he would clash against the real kunai and believe to have deflected the clone's attack.

Ukio knew well that Juyo was a Genjutsu user, so it was Juyo's job to make it look like a real clone jutsu.  Also while making it believable, he intended to strike Ukio quick and hard to end the fight.  As the first clone would lunge for it's slicing attack (going left to right across Ukio's shoulder) Juyo sent a clone in from Ukio's five o'clock (behind and to Ukio's left a bit) in a feint attack to keep Ukio from dodging backwards.  At the same time a clone from Ukio's left would attack his left shoulder using a kunai in its right hand, slashing across his left.  Juyo threw a kunai in that direction as well, the same way as used for the illusion clone on Ukio's right.  Besides these three clones were two more to round out the five.  Not wanting to get too ahead of himself, Juyo kept these clones at bay, one directly in front of Ukio, and another in between the clones to Ukio's back and his right.  These last two clones stood in a defensive stance in case Ukio tried to dodge their way.

The real Juyo crouched on the head of the statue, preparing himself for Ukio's reaction and getting ready for another jutsu of his own.  Ukio was a good Genjutsu user, but this day the victor would be Juyo, and he wouldn't let Ukio escape so easily.  With the Mist Servant Technique, Juyo had the match wrapped around his finger.

OOC: Just a sidenote, these illusionary clones will feel real if attacked, and will split upon impact. The clone that is then split, will become two clones instead of being one. Applies to all illusionary clones. For more questions on my post feel free to PM me.

(OOC: Calling auto hits on both shoulders.  Will describe where exactly and how they affect Ukio.)

To Juyo's surprise, Ukio didn't make a move to dodge or block or even counter any of the clones.  The two kunai struck the tops of Ukio's shoulders, making inch deep cuts into the flesh.  The cuts weren't too deep, but it would impede Ukio's movements and limit what he could do with his katana.  Juyo smirked as he saw the blood, it wasn't over-exagerated which meant Ukio didn't use that Genjutsu like he had the last time they fought, and Ukio didn't turn to smoke in a Substitution Technique either.  That meant Juyo's Genjutsu was working perfectly. His real kunai had matched perfectly with the illusion's kunai and slipped behind Ukio unnoticed, landing in the ground outside of the ring of mist, hidden from his view within the genjutsu.  Now for the next stage of Juyo's attack.

The illusionary clones on Ukio's left and right used their other kunai in their free hands in another slashing attack into Ukio's sides of his neck.  This two pronged attack would be be met with two more kunai thrown by Juyo.  This time however, Juyo had two more kunai to throw straight at Ukio's chest which would be covered by the illusion of the clone in front of Ukio which would attack with both kunai in front.  With all of these kunai attacks, there was still a way for Ukio to escape.  Knowing this, Juyo formed three lightning javelins around him, and fired them off at Ukio.  One javelin was shot at Ukio's legs, one was fired behind Ukio in case he tried to dodge backwards and thus still get hit in the chest.  The third one would be shot while Juyo was in midair as he was leaping from the top of the Kazekage statue to the roof of the palace, right where Ukio had been when he set off his Genjutsu.  Juyo landed on the roof and turned, now looking at Ukio's back to see what damage could be done next.

He had planned things out well, though he wasn't sure if it was safe to say his plan was foolproof.  The last two clones that were behind Ukio evened their stances, so as to not leave a gap in the circle of clones.  Setting them up as if they were ready to defend themselves, Juyo smiled at his work, and prepared for his next phase of his plan.  A thought crossed his mind as to how far the Examiner would let the match go, but not wanting to let up until told to, Juyo would continue with his plan.

It bothered him, oh god how it bothered him. It wouldn't stop, it wouldn't let up. Irritating, it wouldn't stop. Ukio didn't like cuts at all, found them bothersome and irritating. None the less he was attacked and struck in the arms, making it ten times worse. He didn't like pain whatsoever, and he was prone to lashing out at it all the same. A red glare crossed Ukio's face as he gritted his teeth and gripped onto the hilt of his katana. Juyo was going to be glad he wasn't near Ukio.

Ukio slide his left foot under the clone to his left and slid the blade out of the sheathe, cutting the chest and through the chin of the head. Moving onto his knee he turned around slashing the stomach of the clone that was on his right, both kunai missing his body due to ducking down. Looking to the clone at his front attacking, he motioned his katana to slap across the kunai, making it fly from the hands. It however did not stop the real kunai, but since his target was now lower, the kunai rammed into the his neck, but no damage was taken. Ukio's baggy attire was wrapped tightly around his neck to stop such attack, Ukio however did feel the blunt force, taking minor bruises. Ukio stood to his feet and ran past the cloen at his front, slashing his side in the process, leaping back after the lightning javelin had impacted the ground.

He looked at the clones, watching them multiply. Ukio's body was in the clear for now.

(OOC: Just a reminder, the cuts to the tops of you're shoulders would impede your sword attacks somewhat, as they were struck so you couldn't raise you're arms too high, everything else will just have pain while moving.)

Ukio wasn't daydreaming anymore it seemed as Juyo watched from above as his next stage of attacks fell.  It was interesting that Ukio attacked only those that had attacked, and then leapt back into the circle.  Why would he keep himself encircled, Juyo wondered as he wiped his sweaty brow while watching the three attacked clones split into two.  Now there was a total of eight clones in the illusion.  This could be the point where Juyo runs into trouble as the Genjutsu is more obvious when the clones split.  Things were looking good but also bad.  Juyo was low on kunai.  He needed to end the fight fast.

Now Ukio was surrounded completely, no gaps in sight.  The eight clones tightened the circle.  I wonder...  Juyo suddenly got an intriguing idea.  It would count on the genjutsu to last, however, and when pitted against another genjutsu user the likelihood of it lasting wasn't very high.  Juyo chewed his bottom lip as he thought.  He needed to wear Ukio out as much as he could and conserve his own chakra in case the battle went on longer.

Suddenly an idea hit Juyo as he bit down on his lip.  He knew how he could end this match here and now.  This would also help him not have to worry about losing his genjutsu.  Thinking over the plan carefully in his head, Juyo pulled out his last four kunai, two in each hand.  With this attack, he would end the fight.  Juyo had the four clones in front of Ukio rush in at him, while the two clones at the edge of Ukio's peripherals would stay still.  Meanwhile, the two directly behind Ukio would feign a jumping attack, although Ukio wouldn't see these jumps coming. Juyo would throw one kunai to the left of Ukio and a second to his left so as to catch Ukio if he tried to dodge away from the four rushing him.  The clones would be charging to attack Ukio, while the kunai would slip through, although this time they wouldn't be matching the illusionary kunai.  This time Juyo was throwing regardless of the genjutsu, just hoping to catch Ukio while he was preoccupied.

Juyo himself would then hop down, disguising himself as one of the two clones behind Ukio, matching their falling movements as he landed with kunai in each hand.  Ukio could leap forward to attack all four of the rushing attacks, he could go left or right, but it wouldn't matter because they were all so close that Juyo could still envelope Ukio in his Water Prison jutsu.  Not exactly knowing Ukio's plans, Juyo was prepared to block the sword, or if Ukio was unwise and leaped back, Juyo would land hard on top of him and dig his last two kunai into Ukio as he'd activate the Water Prison to capture Ukio.  He hoped for his squadmate's sake that he wouldn't have to stab him, but the only thing about this plan was that it didn't matter how Ukio moved, Juyo would still be ready and shoot the Water Prison at him.

Thinking over the plan, Juyo smiled a devilish grin and leapt off the roof.  Juyo had used Water Prison before on Ukio, that was how he had ended their sparring match last time, which was why he had refrained from using it til now.  At least now he could use it without Ukio being aware of where Juyo was.  As Juyo fell, he camouflaged himself into one of the clones behind Ukio so he wouldn't be able to see him coming.  Juyo activated the jutsu and...

Ukio ducked low again to the rushing of four clones in front of him.  Spinning his entire body as he kept his shoulder from moving too much, he cut all four in his spinning slash.  The two kunai fell straight to the ground, ending up just being wasteful throws.  Still, it was better to be cautious then not.  Juyo landed behind Ukio, slipping into the illusion of one of the clones behind him.  Ukio turned to watch his back as Juyo spewed out the water prison, enveloping him.  It caught Ukio before he could move out of its way.

Juyo dispersed the genjutsu as he watched his squadmate curse himself for getting caught in it again.  "It was a good match, Ukio."  Juyo said.  "You're not getting out of this now."  Time went on as Juyo kept the Water Prison on Ukio, until finally the Examiner called the match.  "The match is over.  Dākuchairudō, Juyo wins!" he called to the assembled masses, who gave Juyo a thunderous round of applause as Juyo released Ukio from the jutsu and was then carried off by the medics.
