Clan History: The first hokage possessed the unique ability to mold his chakra into living plants and grow them through the transmission of chakra. The Senju clan were known for their immense chakra control and skill with elemental chakra. During the first shinobi war, another clan, the Koujou clan, often aligned with them. The koujou clan had similar abilities but slightly different. They had incredible chakra control and the ability to literally embody elemental chakra. They are known as the creators of such jutsu as fireball jutsu (being able to synthesize fire with the use of one's lungs), elemental transformation jutsus (such as Suigetsu's ability to turn into water), among many others. They assisted the Senju clan by teaching them how to mold chakra into elements on its own and not rely on elements around them (a good example of this is Yamato's ability to create wood from his arm, as opposed to needing to create it from the dirt). Their role in the first shinobi war was one of support. They did not possess enough strength to battle other head clans themselves, but by teaming up with the Senju clan, they survived. The Koujou have always been a clan of peace, love, and life. They did not fight during the shinobi war (for the most part), but instead assisted the Senju from the sidelines. When the Senju had their final fight with the Uchiha, however, the Koujou refused to help the Senju clan in battle. This was due solely to the legend of the Sharingan. The Koujou elders at the time heard awful stories about the Sharingan: ones of mind control and even the ability to rewrite reality to one's whim. They were not afraid to die, but rather afraid of their jutsu falling into the wrong hands. The Senju clan understood this fear, as their abilities could be applied to many different shinobi’s talents to amplify them. Given their history, the Senju were not offended by the Koujou’s refusal to fight. When the battle had finished and the two sides (Senju and Uchiha) agreed to a draw, there were many terms made to establish this long-sought peace. One of which was an act of trust on both ends. Both clans were to share a set of their jutsu with one another. Clearly, high level jutsu such as the Sharingan and Wood Release would not be exchanged. Still, Hashirama Senju did not trust the Uchiha fully due to Madara’s betrayal. Because of this, he decided to trick them. He would still give them jutsu, but not that of his own clan. In talks with Koujou elders, Hashirama convinced the Koujou clan to give up some of their advanced chakra control and elemental embodiment techniques to the Uchiha (including the fireball technique). This went against everything Koujou stood for. They feared the Uchiha would integrate these powers with the Sharingan and, in time, eradicate both the Koujou clan and the Senju. Hashirama saw the danger in this as well, however insisted that continuing war would be just as devastating. To ensure they would willingly accept the deal, Hashirama made an offer the Koujou couldn’t refuse. Since he trusted them greatly already, Hashirama agreed to share with Koujou the Wood Release kekkei genkai. The Koujou clan had wanted this since the day they found out about it, and is one of the reasons they sought out the Senju in the first place. They also thought that it would uphold the balance of power (seeing as the Uchiha would now have the same support the Senju originally had during the war [the teachings of the Koujou] and the Koujou would now have an even greater power [the mixed bloodline of the Koujou and Senju]). They all agreed to the conditions (Uchiha, at the time, unaware of the deal Koujou and Senju made) and soon Konohagakure came to be.

Kekkei Genkai Description: The unique combination of Wood Release and Koujou's natural affinity towards elemental embodiment produced a Kekkei Genkai that allowed the user to create life from their own body. Essentially, the user has the ability to transmit chakra to cells within their body and rapidly transform them. What were once human cells are changed into plant cells, which can then grow into seeds and then into plants. See jutsu below for description.

Drawbacks: This takes a toll on the user's body. There is no immediate effects (unless one runs out of chakra, in which case they will pass out instantly due to lack of cells), however there are extremely noticable long-term effects. All members of the Koujou clan who possess this kekkei genkai are extremely thin and frail. Their bones are thin and their muscles too. This is due to the kekkei genkai drawing from the very resources needed to compose the human body. This means all members MUST take the special characteristic

Could I create a member of the Senju clan with this Kekkei genkai as a unique version of the Senju's Wood Release?

You could app a Senju and try to do this via jutsu. Maybe by combining medical nin with nin.

You do realize that's how anyone can use wood release, right? Yamato himself creates wood from his own body. Trees have grown out of his shoulders, as have wood clones, Wood has sprouted from his fingertips, etc. It doesn't require medical, it is simply a generic expression of wood release, nothing unique. Also, this clan is perma denied, but for future reference: giving someone frail and agile as a drawback isn't a drawback because you're getting a benefit from the negative SC. If you want a negative SC to count towards another clan you create's drawbacks it can't give a positive SC.
