Isamu was resting quietly in the comfort of his bed. His hair was unkempt, falling in messy strands here and there, covering the majority of his face. The blankets were pulled over his head, so from the outside, all that could be seen were the white locks of hair, moving a bit with every one of his breaths. The echoing pound at his door awoke him, and a voice accompanied it, yelling, "Isamu! Wake up! You need to hurry, it's an important mission." ah, it was probably another Special Jounin. Looked like he was gonna be going on an emergency mission.
The shinobi slumped out of his bed, unenthusiastically brushing his bangs out of his eyes and putting the hair the fell down to his back into a ponytail. He strapped on his flak jacket and walked outside to greet the person. A man with a large sword and golden-brown eyes. Isamu held out a hand in the man's direction, gesturing for the mission details, and the guy gave them to him and nodded as he left. Isamu sighed as he watched the guy leave. "Came all the way here to give me the mission, and he isn't even gonna come with me? How stupid."
According to the paper in Isamu's hand (which was hard to read due to the fast-paced scribbling), there was a raid on a nearby supply bridge the was being built, and he needed to go stop the raiders and ensure the builders' safety. He nodded as he read the closing line and shoved the document into his back pocket before sprinting to the west. The bridge was on the western island of Mizu no Kuni, a location that Isamu didn't necessarily know well, but he definitely knew where it was. The moonlit sky was a deep purple shade, dotted by stars of different shapes and sizes, all casting their glow down onto the grass. Isamu's hurried footsteps made no sound as they tread the path, but he was moving his fastest and his eyes were set on the horizon.
This sudden spike in criminal activity was beginning to grow worse; no one had attacked a bridge on Kiri in literally over a century. In addition to the rogue ninja wandering around the islands and the various other threats and villains, Isamu was worried for the well-being of the village, and hoped to do his best in protecting it. Determination was clear in his eyes.
The Maeda reached the western front within minutes, and he watched from the trees as the bridge came into view. A thick mist was covering the area, making it hard to see too far ahead, but this half of the bridge seemed relatively quiet...a bit too much so. He stepped out of the trees and onto the cement, looking left and right. A noise. Rustling from the leaves of the trees, the chilling mist just got a bit colder, footsteps, fast ones, the unsheathing of a weapon. Isamu turned just as a man with a kunai was ready to strike him, and made a ram hand seal. A bubble formed around him and exploded, launching the man back and making him collide into a tree. Close call. Isamu turned back to face the bridge and began to run across it, determined to stop the other villains.
As he ran across the mass, Isamu heard the sound of more footsteps behind him, so he turned and planted his feet down, sending him skidding backwards but facing his next opponents. There were three in total, each wearing masks and carrying basic ninja weapons. No problem, not at all. The first one on the left made the first move, swinging a sword at Isamu, which was promptly dodged and countered with a leg sweep. The swordsman fell over, hitting the ground hard, as Isamu went after the next one on the right. He pressed a hand to the man's chest, and blasted chakra through it, making the man fall back in pain. Last but not least, the third raider jumped into the air, pulling out a Molotov cocktail and throwing it down at Isamu, who used Wind Release: Air Bullets to not only detonate the explosive in mid-air but also knock the raider out of the air. A few successful blows from the jutsu, and the raider was sent flying down to the water below the bridge (which was far enough down to ensure he wouldn't survive the fall).
Four out of seven raiders, now for the last three. Isamu reached the edge of the bridge, where construction was ongoing. The workers, however, were cowering in fear, attempting to hide behind structures and cinder blocks. Isamu finally turned back to face the direction he had come from and saw the last three, each carrying a Molotov as well. A recurring weapon of choice, apparently, although these ones were lit and set to explode at any second. Isamu quickly made some hand seals and used Fuuton: Sky Wall to put up a barrier of wind as all three of the detonated into flames. The wind wall caught fire, but Isamu released the jutsu, and found himself looking down at the three burning corpses. Threat eliminated; the fact that the last ones had essentially killed themselves just made it easier for Isamu.
The workers all stepped out from behind their hiding places, and surrounded the shinobi, offering smiles and hugs and thank-yous. The tallest of them was the first to speak. "You've done us a great service here, and we owe our lives to you." Isamu modestly smiled back and replied,
"You don't need to worry about paying me back, I did it because I'm here to help. Now, you guys can continue building, I'm going to go back home and get some sleep."
With the task completed, Isamu gave one last nod to the workers and headed off, ready to go back to sleep.
