Delivering the Supplies
While walking down the streets of kumo Zetsume could hear the busy streets of merchants, kids, and other villagers living their normal life. Most of them could not understand the life of a shinobi, where even the most simple of a mistake could mean the difference between life and death. While passing the mission board he saw a "HELP WANTED" sign. After picking up the paper and getting a closer look at it, it seemed that the local weapon shop was getting a local shipment and was hiring any available ninja to help carry them. It seemed like an easy way to gain some ryo so Zetsume started to make his way toward the gate.
It was noon when he arrived at the gate, it looked very impressive in size and durability. He has not lived through an attack on the village nor did he want to, but the tall wall seemed to comfort him a little. After waiting for a few hours only three other men showed up, they were strong and sturdy men. After greetings were done the shipment had finally arrived. After counting how many men had showed up and how many boxes there were it seemed each man would have to carry three for the amount of work to be equal. Without a moment of hesitation Zetsume was the first to pick up a box and begin to carry it. At first the box looked light and when he picked it up it caused no strain on him, but he knew that this trip was that of three hundred yards and making it three times would be annoying. He delivered the first box his muscles could feel the strain of the box taking its toll, after the second box was delivered his muscles began to feel the burn and it hurt to even raise them to scratch your head. Sighing while looking at the last box which Zetsume named this one Pandora's Box, because it was full of evil. He went to pick it up and his arms hurt, his legs hurt and his stomach growled at the need for food. This box took him much longer than the other three having to pause every now and then to take a break. He almost dropped it once when an orphan ran into him while running away from his friends playing tag with each other. Falling onto his butt he kept the box firmly in his hands as he made a large thud noise. In his mind he cursed the little boy for knocking him over, but knew he was just a kid and meant no harm. He arrived a couple of hours before the store was about to close. The weapon shop owner thanked him for his hard work and explained that he was to old to carry the large boxes from the gate to his shop. Zetsume did not really care for his excuses, he just wanted to get paid and eat. The old man paid him and sat on his chair outside of the store waiting for his other boxes. Zetsume was the second to finish, he could not keep up with the man he nicknamed Ox, he was a large fellow who laughed at the weight of the boxes and finished carrying two of them in the time it took Zetsume to carry one. This did not really bother Zetsume not like it was a race or nor that he could have won if it was. Zetsume had his money and set off toward the local ramen shop. His stomach growling he ordered four bowls of ramen and ate them with gratification of a hard days work shown on the marks on his hands and the smile on his face as he took his first bite of ramen.
