Sanosuke
D-rank
After getting the information he needed from the gate keeper of the village hidden in the mist, Sanosuke figured that the blood cemetery of Kiri must be on the outskirts of the village considering that it was a prison that was widely built and so needed to be built where there's lots of room. The massacre of Hao Uchiha must have left many casualties that needed to be bury. No one would hold such a huge cemetery in the middle of a village, it'd be an awkward place to put in a village. Following the directions of the gate keeper Sanosuke strolled through the land of kiri and noticed the newly built buildings that were all over the village and the buildings that were sill being built because of the great burning. That was what some people Sanosuke heard as he walked through the village. Even with that tragic event, the people were in good spirits.
According to the information that Mei told him before he left, the grave was already built with a tombstone and all, including the body. All he had to do was put the flowers on the grave and that would be the end of the mission. Seemed simple enough. In his inner coat pocket was the scroll that was sealed inside it the mountain lilies of the durian tree of knowledge. He'd unseal the scroll once he got to the grave site so he can lay the flowers on the grave.
Upon reaching the grave, Sanosuke noticed that the mist had actually thickened and the air grew startling colder. Where he was, it seemed as though the mist and the rain gave the illusion that it was night time when Sanosuke knew full well that it was still morning. It gave the grave a more sinister look; this place called the Blood Cemetery for very good reason after all. Inspecting each of the graves, Sanosuke looked for the name of Mei's lover whom he gave to Sanosuke.
There were countless of graves that also listed who they were and what position they held if they were a shinobi on their tombstone. Finally Sanosuke found the grave he was looking for in the first place. Here was the grave of the man that Mei loved: "Renji Amaksu." On the man's grave was his name and the positio he held as a shinobi. He was a jounin when he died, it was a pity that Sanosuke didn't meet him. Judging how Mei was acting because of his death this Renji guy must have been a hell of a guy. It was time Sanosuke assumed to lay out the flowers on the grave so he can end this mission. Being around these dead bodies was giving Sanosuke the creeps.
"Let's get this over with" Sanosuke said to himself as he drew out the scroll he had in his inside overcoat pocket. Unrolling the scroll, Sanosuke pulsed chakra into the seal to release the seal in the scroll so that the bouquet of flowers came out of it. Once Sanosuke was done rolling up the scroll and putting it back where he found it, he put the flowers on the grave and said a small prayer for the guy who died.
Just when he closed his eyes, Sanosuke saw something out of the corner of his eye. Darting to the side to avoid the target that was coming at him, Sanosuke saw a rapid dust cloud destroyed the tomb stone right where he originally stood that was right beside the tombstone of Renji's. Looking at the dust cloud, Sanosuke spotted a man with long green shaggy hair wearing a black cloak. In his hand was a scythe, the man looked at Sanosuke with a devilish smile.
"Well I'll be damned, you dodged my attack. Let's try and make it east for you...AND JUST DIE!" the man called out at Sanosuke and dashed at him at alarming speed. Sanosuke jumped back and drew out his sword so he can counter the scythe slash. Blocking the attack, Sanosuke barely had time to block the second strike of teh mad man who was laughing as though he was possessed by a demon with every swing he made. This guy was unrelenting, it wasn't as though Sanosuke couldn't' keep up it's just that Sanosuke couldn't get a single swing in on the guy. Also the face that this guy's weapon was more welly forged than his sword.
"I'll kill you! Die!" the man screamed and tried to come down on Sanosuke's head with a wide arched sword. Sanosuke focused chakra on his body and pulsed himself backwards to avoid the kick while using the man's upperbody as a springboard to avoid the attack. The attacked was skidding back from the surprise donkey kick Sanosuke delivered.
The mentally insane man jumped at Sanosuke again aiming his scythe to cleave Sanosuke's body in half from his torso. The scythe cleaved through his body and two halves of his body slowly fell down to the ground. Blood spewed everywhere from the fatal wound, causing the man to laugh manically at his victory. His laughter didn't last for too long when the body parts of his recent victory turned into a chopped up tombstone. This guy was still an amateur and thus didn't notice the deception immediately. Turning around, the man noticed Sanosuke coming in fast for the attack this time. His body was pivoted parallel to the ground so his sword was scraping against the ground to cause sparks to dance from his sword. Heat from the sparks made his own sword turn red from pressure.
Waving his sword upwards to cleave the man's scythe from his shaft, the man wasn't so stupid. What he did was insane indeed. Normally while facing an attack like this, the normal person would normally dodge the strike cometely to get out of the destructive power of scrape. But this guy was different. Instead of running, the lunatic kept running and did a split second evasive maneuver that had him swinging his body unerneath Sanosuke's blade. Wide eyed at this development, Sanosuke saw the light glint of the man's scythe following the path of the man's body which was going left to right; using a rotating movement to build up momentum for the slash. With a horizontal somersault, Sanosuke spun over the blade to evade the strike that was coming at him by a hair.
A small amount of pebbles that were on the ground pulsed upwards when Sanosuke stuck the landing. Perfect, there was an opening now for Sanosuke to follow through. The man made a pretty big mistake in making such a wide arc like that with his sword. It's because of that arc that Sanosuke was able to get into his range. "Victory is mine!"" Sanosuke called out as he leveled his sword at the man's chest so his next strike would be a killing blow
Blood splattered the ground as the blow came. Leaping back, Sanosuke was holding the left side of his rib. It was a pretty deep cut that he received. Huffing and puffing, Sanosuke tried to let the creeping darkness take him in. This guy was no ordinary criminal he was trained and Sanosuke let down his guard because of it. When he went for the stab, the attacker was smart and trained enough to skillfully step back so the edge of the scythe was touching Sanosuke's back and tried to pull to slash Sanosuke in half.
If the cold metal of the blade didn't tap against the hilt of Sanosuke's sword, then Sanosuke would have ended up like that tombstone he used as the object for his substitution jutsu. Even though all together the emergency maneuver he did led to him narrowly escaping death, he got away with a pretty nasty cut that left him light headed from the loss of blood. Holding on to his wound with one hand, Sanosuke tried his best to apply pressure to the wound in hopes to make the bleeding stop. If he didn't then he would black out.
"Awww poor baby, you got hurt! HERE LET ME END YOUR PAIN" the man screeched and launched himself at Sanosuke again for another assault; as he ran he licked Sanosuke's blood that was still on his scythe before he positioned his weapon at his throat. The wound was gnawing at his side and pain was crawling up his throat. Bubbling feelings if scream came into his throat but he swallowed it and rose his blade up. Judging by the amount of blood that was oozing out of his wound, Sanosuke guessed that he had less than 5 minutes before the pressure he had on his wound let out and he would black out.
Sanosuke rose the sword over his head to block the incoming blade that looked as though it wanted to be jammed right in his skull. Lucky for Sanosuke his sword stopped the scythe by landing against its shaft. The man was laughing uncontrollably as he tried to outmuscle Sanosuke, causing the jounin to slide on his feet but Sanosuke wasn't giving an inch. It got to the point where the attacker started headbutting his end of the scythe in hopes of breaking Sanosuke's guard. Every blow from his head caused Sanosuke to scoot farther and farther backwards and although the man's head was practically bleeding from the headbutts but he kept on doing it.
Focusing chakra into his sword, Sanosuke bursted it outwards from his sword to push the attacker off him "Burst shield!" Sanosuke called out and got the man to be pushed away from him. This time Sanosuke decided he would keep up the pressure and dashed at the man while he was being sent backwards and was still in midair. Taking a swipe with his sword, Sanosuke slashed at the man's arm that held the scythe in it. Blood gushed from his wound and the man howled in pain, because of the momentum they were traveling backwards Sanosuke couldn't cut the arm off like he planned. So he settled with thrusting his sword at the man while he was still reeling from the attack with chakra focused at the tip of the blade. When the blade was close, Sanosuke unleashes it at one point and sent the man flying backwards and led to him going through several of Kiri's tombstones. No doubt that the last attack broke a couple of his wounds. Both Sanosuke and the man glared at each other, both about to go in for the kill with this last strike.
Sanosuke closed his left pupil and opened it for the seal of the demon to appear. The man laughed manically and swung his scythe faster and faster in circles so it whirled in a tight circle. They were really going to end this battle right here and now. They both dashed at each other with alarming speeds but Sanosuke was quicker and appeared in front of the man's face before he had the opprotunity to react, Sanosuke whirled around tightly in a circle.
"Reverse Moon Slice!" Sanosuke called out before he swung his sword at the man's neck and went past the man and skidded on the ground past him. Sheathing his sword, Sanosuke called down his seal release state in time for the head to drop on the floor. Looks like another body for this depressing grave indeed. Giving another silent prayer, Sanosuke walked away from the grave shaking his head.
According to the information that Mei told him before he left, the grave was already built with a tombstone and all, including the body.
