The desert sun was unrelenting not yet even close to mid-day and still the heat intense, a strong wind blew in from the East through it carried no refreshing breeze with it, yet the people of Kaze no Kuni are all too accustomed to the harsh heat of the desert they call home. The blonde male would adjust the Sunagakure hitai-ate that rested upon his forehead as he made his way down to the gate of the Kozai compound from the estate mansion, activating his Wind Sense Jutsu with a quick one handed seals beneath his cloak and spreading his chakra upon the air in a five hundred meter radius around him. Hearing the construction that was going on the other side of the wall of the estate had become the norm as of late, it was hard to believe how much had changed in just the few short months since he had met Nova and learned of her plan to rebuild their village. A few months ago the estate was surrounded by nothing except desert, now it was becoming a part of the new village of Sunagakure standing in the shadow of the Kazekage Tower which not only could be seen from several kilometers away no matter which way you approached the village, but also allowed the ever tentative Kage to keep a watchful eye out over her village as well as watch for any imposing threats from the world around them. The male had been in the tower many times in the most recent weeks, keeping the Kazekage up to date with how everything was proceeding as well as possible courses of action in the days to come.  While still in the building process the village was immaculate to say the least still bringing awe to the male whenever he looked out from his window of his room, and with new settlers arriving everyday the village was bustling with people just as the male remember the old Village being. It never ceased to amaze the male of how resilient the people of Kaze no Kuni truly were, years ago when old Sunagakure was turned into nothing more than a sea of glass a painful reminder of the past most would have given up hope. The people of Kaze no Kuni did not, they knew someday they would return home, they survived and they kept on believing. Nova had begun the process she told everyone of her plans and she held true to her word, beginning what everyone else said was impossible, yet she did it and now here on the southern reaches of Kaze no Kuni stretching fifteen kilometers along the coast of the white sea the village stands and it's people are returning home. From the workers that we're building homes and other necessities for the ever growing population to the farmers that were working in the fields or handling the livestock, from the teenagers that babysat all the little children still too young to attend the academy to the academy teachers themselves or those that worked to supply decent meals to the entire village. Everyone in the village had a part to play in order to make this dream the reality that it is becoming, and everyone was doing their part to help the best that they can. Even the male had his own part to play, ensuring the safety of all the villagers. Myrddin was wearing his normal attire his white armored tunic and pants, black boots, white gloves, a long flowing white cloak that shrouded his figure as well as hid his Anbu Tantō Ikari which was strapped horizontally on the back of his belt. On the outside of the cloak upon his back the male displayed Devorakos, the prized possession of the male's and the signature blade of the Kozai clan. The blade was almost as large as the male was, the tip of the blade just barely hovering over the marble pathway as he walked through the village. The Jōnin was proud to have his village back, though he was more proud of the very small part that he played in helping this dream come to fruition. Traveling to the different minor countries helping to spread the word of the village return and help secure the support that the village needed until they could become self sufficient once more. Myrddin's path would take him past the docks where the fishermen were returning with their morning haul, past the shipyard where the new naval ships were being built in order to protect the village from unwanted visitors from the sea. Stopping only briefly to view the progress of the ships before moving on through the village. Walking down a recently completed small residential area and seeing all the new arrivals being lead by those who volunteered to help guide them to a vacant home. The Kazekage made a promise to shelter all those that sought it, and the village would spare no expense in ensuring that everyone would have a home that they could call their own. Myrddin would continue on his current path heading for the gate of the village to check in with the guards on the events of the morning so far, through he was in no hurry as it was such a beautiful day he did not which to miss anything by rushing around.

Chiaki felt her hair blow around, even in the head wrap that she had purchased in the marketplace of Sunagakure no sato. She wondered whether or not she would be able to keep the sand out of her every orifice today, or whether, like yesterday it would pervade her every being. She looked out and got an eyeful of sand.

Well, that wasn’t good. She rubbed at it and it irritated it more. She held her eyes closed and weaved the signs, rat, tiger, serpent, ox, bird, and inhaled, breathing in the world around her and gaining a second sight through the scent of chakra. She could easily ‘see’ the people around her and dodged a person who was stumbling about in the strong east wind. Most people were facing or heading south, and people seemed to generally know where they were going and what they were up to. Chiaki gave herself a secretive smile. This was definitely one of her better jutsu that she had created. With it, she was able to pick out everyone in a 200 meter radius, and could even see around the buildings that were in the area. It was a great boon to her, because while it was overwhelming in the first couple of seconds, she was able to assess whether people needed help, or walk with her second sight… or rather, her second smell.

She had been here a small three days, and so far she had managed to meet an academy student and the kage of the village. She wondered who she would meet today. She ducked under a bag that someone was holding and dipped into an alleyway, the wind whipping her into it as she blinked rapidly and tried to alleviate the sand that was in her eyes.

Then, as she was getting the last bits of sand dust out of her eyes, she sensed something on the edges of her smell. Myrddin? She moved so that she kept him within the purview of the jutsu. Really? She climbed the nearest building and let the chakra tantalize her nose. Yes, that was him.

She jumped from rooftop to rooftop, the people of the city highlighting where the streets began and the buildings did. She wondered whether the sand would ever stop blowing, as she righted herself and rearranged her pantaloons that she had bought, just that week. She was wearing a desert pricess outfit, or that’s what they had called it. It had long and transparent sleeves, that were sewn so tight that it kept the sand out, but didn’t block the view. It had a brazier sort of look on top, though the brazier didn’t let any sand in either, as it sinched up to her neck. She had on pantaloons that were of the same material, and in the desert heat, it was mercifully cool to her to wear this sort of attire.

Turning her head away from the wind she sniffed again. Perhaps he would come her way. The sand-slippers that she had purchased were better in this weather and clime than her sandals as well. It was truly a blessing that they had a marketplace where one could buy all the needed wear for that particular area of the world. Seeing, as she only had clothes that worked in Konoha, she had taken them for granted to work around the world.

What culture shock.

It was such a lovely day today within the village, peace and prosperity were in abundance, at least from the male's point of view. It was hard to imagine that just a few short months ago this was still a desert like the rest of the land of wind, and every single one of these people now blessed by the Kazekage were broken and scattered around the world by the destruction of the old Village all those years ago. The male's path to the gate would take him straight through the center of the village's market place, the activity here is without a doubt the busiest. With villagers or visitors alike flowing in and out of shops like a river stream, the male's wind sense was all but overwhelmed with the activity in the air around him he doubt he would be able to sense an actual threat if he needed to. Myrddin however would keep it active for the sake that it might provide even a miniscule amount of warning should something out of the ordinary were to happen. Seeing all the businesses doing so well was a bit relieving, considering the fact that their success was the village's success as well. Reaching the gate to the village Myrddin would step into the office of the gate house, "Good morning Sir, here for the daily report I assume." Came the voice of a chūnin that sat behind the desk as the sound of riffling papers filled the male's ear, "all is calm here, no incidents to report. The night guard suspected a traveller of smuggling in contraband, however it was proven that his suspicion was unwarranted and the traveller was released with apologies this morning." At these words myrddin's eye brow would raise slightly to which the young chūnin would begin to fidget as he handed the paperwork to the blonde, reading over the report showed the male exactly what the chūnin had spoke of. The traveller was no more than a seller of antiques and the supposed contraband was no more than relic's of the past, satisfied with what he read Myrddin would close the folder placing it back on the desk before looking at the chūnin. Before he could say anything however the chūnin seemed to read his mind as he continued his report the Jōnin, "over two thousand have come to the village seeking refuge since dawn and while we are still doing our best to find them all homes it is a slow we will get it done before night fall. With the current population now being a little over two million, not counting the travelling merchants and visitors to the village." Myrddin seemed please with the information as a smile formed on his face, while two million was not even half of the original population of the hidden sand village, the fact that so many people had already returned home was a good sign. "See that the report makes it to the Kazekage's desk before five, and if I am needed I will be at the western training grounds for the rest of the day." With a quick nod from the chūnin Myrddin would exit the gate house and make his way to the west heading for the training grounds. He would walk along the edge of wall both getting a sense of the village walls security as well as the village itself, while at the same time avoiding the people themselves with few people travelling the same road as he was the male was able to have a little breathing room which would help him relax slightly as he readied himself for some training.

Chiaki could sense him on the edges of her nose, when he went right, so did she, when he went left, she did as well. She was a hound on the case for some semblance of belonging, of companionship in the new village. So far she had only met the kage, and she was... less than friendly to the outsider that was in her walls. She had her eyes closed, moving with the scents of chakra until he stopped and she stopped as well. Perhaps this was something that he wanted to keep private? She waited on top of the building, waiting for him to come out. She didn't want to interrupt his important work, especially on a windy day like this, and she would be patient. It would give her some time to practice, after all, her sage chakra control.

She had only recently learned it because of him, and she had wanted to show him anyhow, so if not then, when?

Chiaki sat on the rooftop while he was inside, all the while breathing in the scents of the village around her, and calmly, surely, relaxed into her sage mode state. Her lips turned blue as did the outsides of her eyes, a dark blue that looked like eye shadow. She sprouted a tail of what looked to be Suiton chakra out of the base of her spine, but on closer inspection it was actually condensed guanyin stem cells. She used them in her healing and as she concentrated, she felt herself get more agile, able to avoid the gusts of wind before they came by moving her head slightly to the left, or the right. She kept her eyes closed though, remaining completely still until Myrddin came out.

That was when she bolted upright, and took off after him, trailing him on the streets, her eye shadow and her attire grabbed the attention of more than one passerby, but her movements were like water among the rocks, unhampered by their gawks, their stares, their sedentary lack of movement. She was on the move, and she wanted to say hello to Myrddin. She wanted some companionship, some sense of friendship in the bleak and hot village.

As soon as he got to the training grounds, away from the people, she called out, her voice hoarse from under use, "Myrddin!" and waved to him, her eyes still shut. She smiled, seeing if he would react to her calling out to him. She also wondered, did her voice get carried away in the winds of the village hidden in the sand?
