Trivia: The Hatake clan began out as simple farmers on a spread of land in the Land of Fire. They tended to one of the only rice farms at the northern borders of the Land of Fire, having taken up the practice from the country’s neighbours, the Land of Rice. A small family of no more than ten people at any time across three generations, the Hatake clan – although not so much a clan as much as it was a family during those hard times – spent every hour of every day tending to the crops they grew in vast fields that spanned valleys. Father and mother would bring the children out to gradually nurture them in the family business, while grandfather and grandmother would negotiate prices with buyers in the Land of Fire, eager to escape the tariffs from importing rice from their selfish neighbour, allowing them to rake up the prices and live in prosperity.
However, what did sap their prosperity were the numerous bandits, all of whom enjoyed preying on their rice farms, undefended and unguarded as they were. The Hatake family always had the means to protect themselves, but they simply lacked the means and manpower to predict exactly where the bandits would strike from. Their warehouses would either be sacked and entire months of profit lost, or their rice farms attacked and pillaged, costing them what could have been years’ worth of rice from the destruction of the land’s capability to support the growth of their trade. It was either the warehouses, the rice fields, or their own home, and the small family could only ever protect two at any one time without being overwhelmed by their lessers.
Fortunately, as generations passed and this became a routine, the Hatake began to discover a hidden power within themselves. Able to hold their own against masses of bandits, outnumbered one to a hundred and still coming out on top with simply days of practice with their skill, the Hatake began to expand their influence over their rice fields once more, protecting every inch of their lands without letting even an animal trot in unharmed. As bandits began to flee from the northern regions of the Land of Fire, so did news of their ridiculous and unique ability reach the far corners of the Land of Fire, especially reaching the ears of the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan, who at the time were signing a long-lasting alliance between the two as well as erecting what would be the walls of a village to stand the test of time.
Invitation after invitation was ignored by the Hatake, who found that the Uchiha and Senju’s militaristic ways failed to fall in line with the supposed dream of non-violence that they had envisioned for any child growing up within the walls of their village, aptly named ‘Konohagakure no Sato’, after what Hashirama Senju had claimed to be a fitting view of the village from the lens of a burnt leaf. It was ultimately the Sarutobi head that managed to negotiate with the small Hatake family into moving into Konohagakure, selling off their lands and trading rice for riches and protection amongst a herd of other much larger clans, often resulting in the small family-turned-clan finding little voice outside of any democratic votes, which were few and far in between.
Regardless, it was undeniable that they were one of the most powerful clans in the village, producing member after member whose skills would far supercede anyone from another clan, possibly multiple. Yet, with their small size, it was never advisable for them to draw too much attention to themselves, for they lacked the numbers that would protect them not just from outside threats, but from those within the wall as well. Hence, any and all Hatake who rose above their fame fell into the burden of wielding the sword strong enough to strike down any of Konohagakure’s enemies… yet also the burden of hiding it well enough such that no one would come seeking them out, and harming those close to them. And even then, the line of the Hatake had fallen at risk of extinction multiple times throughout history, if not because one failed to hide who they were and what they had done, then because one was simply too proficient in who they were, and what they had done. As such, it was with this that, while the word of their clan did spread, they never let anything else be known.
As such, it was with that, that the Hatake clan has always been selflessly protecting Konoha, whether from within the shadows, or without.
And it is because of this that the Hatake clan’s history shall always remain a trivia – details, considerations, and pieces of information, that ultimately must have little value.
Trivia: The Hatake clan is the first clan you shall see in battle, and the last clan you shall see before your death. Do not test their patience, for they have none to spare.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Colored Raiton
Kekkei Genkai Description: The Hatake clan are well versed in the usage of Raiton chakra. While never the most powerful clan of ninja, the genius and pride of the Hatake led the clan into making themselves one of the most versatile clans within the bounds of their abilities. For the cost of an additional ten chakra, when the Hatake clan member activates a Raiton technique, they are able to optionally enhance their Ration techniques by attributing it in one of the following ways:
- Crimson Raiton: The legendary Sannin Jiwan Hatake developed this variation of his clan’s Raiton abilities when he lost his Senjutsu contract and his ability to use Sage Mode safely. Jiwan modeled Crimson Raiton after the destructive power he witnessed in Black Raiton on the battlefield during the War of the Sages. The Sannin was able to emulate the increased destructive power of Black Raiton while stripping away the self-harming properties.
Crimson Raiton retains the same physical properties as normal raiton, e.g. suiton conducts it/doton is weak to it, but the jutsu gains maximum damage values as a free effect for the technique. - White Raiton: Mushin Hatake was known as Konoha’s White Flash, and as rumored to have been stronger than the standing Hokage and Konoha’s Jounin Commander at the time. The Hatake's clan White Raiton is owed to the generous amount of Yang enriched Raiton aligned chakra that each clan member is born with. Yang Chakra is based on the physical energy that governs vitality, and when molded by a Hatake clan member along with their natural Raiton is essentially 'purified' of its faults, giving birth to the clan's once signature White Raiton.
White Raiton retains the same physical properties as normal raiton, e.g. suiton conducts it/doton is weak to it, but it is stripped of its normal weaknesses while retaining its strengths. [Futon no longer has elemental superiority over it, meaning that if a White Raiton technique clashes with a Futon tech, they are on even ground]. - Cerulean Raiton: Iksanun Hatake developed this raiton variation after a period of self reflection, study of chakra flow and natural lightning. By increasing the ‘positive charge’ of the chakra within his body, he was able to harness the ability to expel the chakra in a fashion that increased its movement properties.
Cerulean Raiton retain the same physical properties as normal raiton, e.g. suiton conducts it/doton is weak to it/Futon is strong against it, but the jutsu is able to gain maximum speed as a free effect for the technique.
- Shiden:
- At A rank, at the cost of 2000 ryo and after a 9000 word training thread, a member of the Hatake Clan is able to unite the three colors of their Colored Raiton into something far more deadly: the legendary technique Shiden. Developed by the Sixth Hokage after the loss of his Sharingan, and with it the ability to use Raikiri safely, Shiden combines the properties of all three of the Hatake clan’s raiton colors into a single ability, allowing a Hatake clan member to utilize their mastery of Raiton to highest caliber, mimicking the effects of the Sixth's infamous technique. Hatake clan members are allowed to apply for a single offensive jutsu that makes use of the Shiden ability; said jutsu must have the following ability attached to it:
- Ability: Shiden: This technique combines the abilities of the three raiton colors of the Hatake clan. As such, it has maximum damage, speed, and no elemental weakness.
- Ability: Shiden: This technique combines the abilities of the three raiton colors of the Hatake clan. As such, it has maximum damage, speed, and no elemental weakness.
The Hatake clan's roots lie in them being simple farmers. Though they are very capable of using a wide range of specializations like other ninja, they work best with a 'tool' [read: weapon] in their hands. As such, clan members are able to apply for a single C rank weapon upon creation with no abilities for free.
- Members of the Hatake Clan are usually specialists in the element of Raiton, due to the overwhelming presence of Yang chakra, their physical body seems to produce lightning on its own. As such, clan members are able to supplement their chakra when performing Raiton techniques with this natural lightning, reducing the cost of raiton techniques by 5 chakra [techniques that would be reduced to zero cost instead are paid *every other post*].
- Because of the clan’s affinity for manipulating Ration, learning techniques of the element comes almost naturally to the ninja. Members of this clan are afforded a 20% word count reduction when training Raiton techniques.
Drawbacks: Despite the Hatake clan having strong, Yang aligned chakra, this does not translate into completely enhancing their physical prowess. Members of the clan suffer a -1 tier to their endurance stat.
Members of the Hatake clan are considered specialists in whatever they dedicate themselves to. As such, if they do not feel as if they have the potential to excel in a particular area, they will often refuses to learn it. As such, Hatake clan members are only able to obtain naturally use 18 specialization points, with a maximum of 23
Because of the heavy Raiton alignment of the clan, Futon-based jutsu gain a one rank boost in damage against a Hatake clan member.
Members of the Hatake clan, due to their strongly Yang aligned chakra, are more dependent upon their own natural body to heal their wounds. As such, they are required to take the Pharmacaphobia Special Characteristic that cannot be balanced by a positive Special Characteristic.
The power of White, Crimson and Cerulean Raiton does not come without a price. In order to unlock the usage of each chakra, the user must do a 5000 word training to unlock each ability; as such, Shiden can only be unlocked after all three base colors have been trained.
Due to the heavy Raiton alignment of the clan, the Hatake clan members are not allowed to have a fourth element.
Natake clan members are only able to benefit from the bonus of a single raiton color at once. Colors can be mixed for cosmetic effect, but the only colors that will retain any ability are those of the three base colors and Shiden.
