Kizashi
D-rank
Although he wasn't usually too picky around the birds, Kizashi found that he didn't want to spend all of his time with them. That's what he was doing though, with a raven on either shoulder. The premier messenger birds of the group his old teacher had wanted to start. The birdhouse he sat next to was one of four, three others being in one of each major ninja village. Sunagakure no sato was excluded as it had been destroyed a while back. Still, it wouldn't be a bad idea to someday erect one there, just in case it came back to life. Crazier things had happened, after all. With a sigh, the black clothed Uchiha stood, the ravens cawing in his ear, tilting their heads to have their beady eyes focus upon his face. He straightened the hitai-ate upon his forehead and looked out over the market district. The birdhouse had been built in the middle of it, where the village seemed to be the busiest. When Syekren put in the work orders in each village, he seemed to think ahead. Having the ravens roost here would greatly increase the flow of information and allow them to see the comings and goings of various types of people. Once Kizashi developed a jutsu to form a communication link with them, the ravens would be even more useful to him, sharing what they'd learned. For now, they were simply messengers, used just like any other birds. Save for the fact they were explicitly for use by Syekren and Kizashi, members of a nameless mercenary group who owed allegiances to different villages. The old man had thrown around the name 'Higure' a few times, meaning "Nightfall" or something. It had a nice ring to it, but it wasn't really anything official. Besides, no one had even seen the old man in such a long time, did something happen? With a sigh, Kizashi gently cooed at the birds and shook his shoulders, signalling it was time for them to return to the roost. With that done, he'd hop down from the building, landing with a crouch to save his knees from the impact. It was time to head out of the village for a bit, and travel to Iwagakure. A note he'd received a while back from his old teacher detailed some strange happenings there, and it would be a good start for answers to where he'd gone. Not to mention the implications of Higure making a name for itself in a village that was rife with tragedy and hard times thanks to a missing Tsuchikage. Kizashi shrugged to himself and pushed his hands into his pockets, making his way to the village gates, waving to the guards. He handed over his ninja info card and filled out travel paperwork to let them know he'd be heading to Iwagakure no Sato in Tsuchi no Kuni for about two or three weeks, and would return as soon as he was able. He had a bit of business to take care of and didn't want to sit around procrastinating about it if he could help it. With the paperwork squared away, he'd exit the village through the gates and begin the trek upon the well traveled path. After what felt like a few hours, he'd happen upon a fork in the road, with a caravan that was stopped to have a meal. He'd wave to them and quicken his pace, trying to meet with the caravan leader. "Oi, oi! 'Lo there, Ah would like ter trouble ye fer a ride on yer wagon here. Ah'v a long way ter go ter reach Iwagakure. Ah kin pay fer the trouble." After some deliberation amongst themselves, the leader simply nodded his head towards a wagon, holding out his hand for payment. Kizashi would drop a nicely weighted ryo coin pouch into his hand, thanking him as he made his way to the wagon. The young man jumped into the back of the wagon, uncorking a bottle of Fire Brand for the trip, taking a nice long swig. He awoke, sometime later to someone tapping his shoulder. The young man groggily sat up and rubbed his eyes, kicking over three or four empty whiskey bottles. He'd drunk himself into a deep slumber, and before he knew it, his journey was over. The gates and large stone walls of Iwagakure no Sato greeted his gaze. He got out of the wagon and bowed to the caravaneers, thanking them one last time before he approached the village gate, giving his information. |
