Hanbei had been travelling some time, the desert never seemed to be this large before, though, what would he know? All Hanbei knew is that he was in a place where he no longer had any desire to be, at least until he was able to recover. The caravan that he was taking to Konoha was making its way on good time, he had signed on to help protect them should bandits get in the way, but it seemed that the path would be a relatively calm one. Konoha was meant to be a land of opportunity and diverse people and ninja, working together to better the world that they lived in. Hanbei could not believe that such a Utopia existed, he had come from a rather isolated nation in Kumo, then to another in Suna that was nearing lawlessness and absolute anarchy. If some hope existed, it would be in the land of fire where some of the worlds greatest ninja were said to have stemmed from, as well as most of the legendary kekkei genkai ever known.
So was was he so nervous?
Hanbei had been the third best ninja in the chuunin exams, he had been a fighter to reckon with, dispatching many of his opponents in one go, many of them had even been from konoha. Perhaps it was just anxiety playing up, wondering if everything had changed in two years, while he had been more or less the same, or perhaps it was the fact that he had not seen his father in that long. What was certain, was that he knew that he would be looking for him, but Henbei felt, on some level, though he could not really put why into words... he needed to be on his own for a while, and realize what his dream was, not that which his father had wanted to instill in the boy. Looking to his feline companion Daji, who lay lazily sleeping upon the top of some of the luggage.

However, another time, in another place...
The fires which raged through the bandit hole that had been recently abandonded after Tenmei and Hanbei had made their escape had died down... The boss of the bandits who had been there, merely a Lt. in the grand design had been taken over by the leader behind some of the united gangs in the north side of the country. However, a man walked along the halls of the complex looking different than many who seemed to dwell in the area, coming across the cell in which Hanbei had been kept long before he was discovered, he made his way to the bandit leader's quarters. Surrounded by his men, the Bandit leader watched the intruder leader enter.
"And who are you supposed to be? "
Kanbei looked at the mans' direction, not impressed by the show of force of the no more than B rank bandits in this forsaken hole. 'No-one you have a hope of dealing with, I'm looking for my son, he was here, but is no longer here... I want your help in locating him.' The bandit lord scoffed, ordering his men to kill the interloper, but, within moments, and a flourish of chakra, tendrils of red connected to the bandits as they attacked. Stabbing deeply into Kanbei's body, blowing chunks out of his form and ripping into him with their weapons almost decapitating the man as the blended husk of a corpse fell to the ground... there would be a moment of pause and momentary celebration before something went wrong... The bandits whom had attacked, began to look scared, suddenly shrivelling into drained shoals of their former selves. Their life and vitality seemingly drained from them as they each became nothing but Ash... and rising from those ashes, Kanbei regenerated.
The survivors were terrified, as the man brushed his hand through his hair... repeating himself with an evil look in his eyes as they became sharp... 'I'm so glad you graciously accepted to help search for him... his name is Hanbei Guanyin... I'd be happy to give you a description... ... ...'
