The punishment would continue as the fight seemingly left the boy with the drop of an elbow across the back of his head. The corresponding knee strike would batter against the boys weakened defenses before also retracting and beginning the process again. The boys resilience could be commended, seemingly still standing up to the combination in exchange for racking up steadily more and more damage. It actually worried Taiho if only slightly that he could potentially leave the boy permanently crippled if he continued to bash his head in with the sharp end of his elbow. But again that did not stop him from continuing his assault on the boys body, muscles flexing with each movement as he grew smoother and more powerful with each continuation. Eventually he could hear the boy meekly shout out in surrender, the sound of him sobbing from either the pain or the humiliation ringing deeply in Taiho’s chest getting him to stop mid swing.
He hold his arm aloft, unsure if the boys cries were meant to distract him, but considering the damage that had been dealt to him over the course of the fight, he doubted the boy could put up much more of a fight at this junction. Releasing the boy from his hold, he’d take a step back and assess the damage. The entire exchange had taken roughly ten minutes, relatively quickly for all intents and purposes. And most of it had been due to the young man fighting against the grapple that he had put himself in by turtling against a superior fighter. It wasn’t the wrong move to make as it kept him from taking far more damage from the onslaught that Taiho had unleashed on him. In fact if he hadn’t somehow pulled himself together and turtled up, Taiho was fairly certain he’d have broken a few of his ribs and possibly given him a concussion on top of the damage he had already given him. As it stood, the boy was likely heavy bruised and covered and welts and bruises but he’d live to fight another day.
Huffing and dusting himself down, Taiho would send the boy a scathing glare for interrupting his meditation and practice before sighing and breathing out. “Whatever, next time learn some manners before you go lifting your dusty feet in someone’s direction. I could have killed you kid”. He may have let go of his anger, but he wasn’t going to let the kid walk away without a proper dressing down of the words and tongues. Properly talking down to him until he got it through his egg noggin of a skull, Taiho would continue the tongue lashing for a few extra minutes before walking away to go back to his day. Considering his meditation time had been interrupted, he guessed he could go ahead and get lunch for the day. Leaving the boy far behind, he’d take to the road to gather his thoughts before taking a mental assessment of himself. While the spar had been far more entertaining than he’d normally admit or concede to anyone, he’d definitely noticed some kinks and errors in his fighting style that would need to get ironed out.
Looking down at his clenched fists, he couldn’t believe that the boy had managed to weather his onslaught for so long. Normally he was able to devastate and overpower his opponents, but the boys defenses had managed to hold up long enough for him to at least plead for mercy, something that normally would not occur unless Taiho had taken it easy, but he knew for a fact that he struck to take the young boy down a peg. It seemed as if he had not improved that much since his spar with his teacher after all. Of course, he hadn’t used any jutsu in the exchange as that would have been overkill for what felt like such a small scale spat, but if that was what was necessary to take someone down in a quick manner, it seems he would have to start doing so. Unclenching his fists slowly, he’d ease himself into exhaling softly before jumping away from the area entirely.
Taking to the treetops, he thought long and hard about who he was and what he wanted to become. Remembering back to the power and authority his father commanded, he imagined himself with that sort of presence. The power to command armies, and subjugate his enemies. He knew for a fact that such a power was within his grasp, but the ache of waiting patiently was beginning to take its toll on him. He’d have to expedite this process, no matter what.
