Umeko Sencho
D-rank
She couldn't tell her parents, they couldn't find out she had been slacking on her training, slacking so hard she was starting to fall off. Mistakes were being made in her spars, simple mistakes, basic small things that would get her looked at with concern from her family if they ever saw it. She knew she was in deep shit and realistically the only person who could help her was her sister, or better yet another ninja who knew nothing of the " Sencho Struggle " as she liked to call it. Her first option was a dead option, seeing as sister would be the one she would go against for her monthly assessment. It was funny when she thought about it now, how her sister could be her savior and her downfall. Umeko always relied on her sister to pull her out of the pit, but recently her mother had caught on to that and decided the two siblings should test their abilities on another to gauge their strength and see which of them was training harder. Everyone in the family knew Umeko was a slacker, and with her sister as the poster child for everything the Sencho stood for her parents really wanted Umeko to get her shit together. It was for this reason that she was being given a monthly assessment in the first place. Her parents would tell her it was for the both of them to stay on top of their training but really it was to see if she was being a lazy let down of a daughter. A deep sigh slipped from her lips as she sunk her body deeper into the warmth of the soapy bathwater. Closing her eyes she allowed her muscles to relax and tried to let her mind drift to something less stressful.
Umeko still had two weeks to pull it together and learn some new things before the fight, a fight she would certainly lose but at least she'll be able to last long enough and present some new skills to satisfy her parents, especially her mother. The thought of her mother brought a frown to her previously serene face, a feat that's rare and could only really be pulled off by that woman. She was the harder parent to please, and she was as hard as a rock and as cold as ice. Had it not been for her father, Umeko would have thought her mother didn't really love her. The scent of the lavender bath oils began to work their magic, soothing her body and dulling out the thoughts in her mind. It was a wonderful way to start the day, and the only way to purge her body of the toxic thoughts that was sure to ruin her if she didn't partake in this morning ritual of hers. Umeko could spend hours like this but she had things to do, people to see, and mistakes to make. Soon she could hear the rest of the house starting to awaken from their slumber and knew it was time to leave her warm, watery retreat. With one last sigh to release whatever negative energy she had in her, the young emerald haired kunoichi quickly but carefully got out of the bath. Drying herself off with a towel Umeko made her way into her bedroom, for all the training she hated doing one would have thought her to be a lazy person, only to find that was not the case. Cleaning was something she enjoyed and looking at her bedroom one could see how neat and well organized she was. Umeko's room was spotless, even her bed was made, something she did as soon as she left the bed each morning to start her day. When it came to keeping things clean Umeko made sure to quickly get it done before it could ever get even a tiny bit noticeably dirty. Sometimes she would clean things that were already clean just to make sure.
Knock..Knock..Knock
The sound of someone light rapping at her door caused Umeko to quickly pull on a black pair of sweat pants and a white and black halter top type sports bra. She could only imagine who it would be bothering her this early and opened her mouth to answer the knock."Uh, yea come in." Taking a seat on her bed, she rested her hands in her lap as one leg crossed over the other. The person who entered her cozy bedroom would be none other than her sister. A smile played on her face as Umeko hopped off the bed and went in for a hug, moving her hands around her sister's waist before pulling her body close to hers. " You aren't usually up this early sis, for as much training as you do, you still wake up alot later than the rest of us." A playful chuckle escaped Umeko's lips as she teased her sleeping beauty of a sister. It was all true though, most days she wouldn't see her sister start her day until at least the early afternoon or late in the morning. Pulling out of her hug she could see that her loving twin was dressed and ready for the day. "Yea... I'm not really sure why I'm awake. I just, woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. Seeing as I can't fall back asleep I figured I might as well see what you do this early in the day. We need a little more bonding time I think." Umeko could only smile as she grabbed her village headband before taking her sister by the hand and leading her out of the room, closing the door behind them both. Oh sis, we're about to have some real fun. No real training until at least twelve, because the morning is our oyster and yada yada just follow me." Smiling Umeko would lead her sister towards her favorite and most secluded area of Iwagakure, but not before stopping at her favorite little cafe for some breakfast.
The village was always bustling with life during the day. People were opening up shop, young ninja were heading to the academy for some much needed teaching about their new lives, and the usually riff raff was scouting out the places they could cause the most trouble. It seemed like it would be a nice day today, it was cool out but not so much that it bothered Umeko. The warm sun shone brightly with scattered clouds here and there floating about in the blue sky. A breeze picked up, throwing Umeko's Emerald locks behind her, which caused her to quickly throw her hair up in a high ponytail. "Where are we off too Ume?" Her sister's voice was like a kiss on the breeze which caused Umeko's attention to be turned towards her. She didn't envy her sister but sometimes she wished she was more like her, despite the two being twins. Um, to get some breakfast of course! We can't start the day without a little food on our bellies right? I know a nice little cafe that serves just the best breakfast sandwiches and really yummy pastries as well. If I remember, you really like crepes right? Umeko watched as her sister nodded her head and smile a small smile. It was always nice being in her presences but Umeko couldn't dwell on that too much longer as she slowed her walking until her feet stopped right in front of a small dome shaped building that had a sign with the words " Granny's Kitchen". The scent wafting in the air from the place was enough to make Umeko's mouth water and it was clearly enough to make her sister's stomach rumble. Heading inside the two quickly took a seat near a window, it wasn't even a minute that passed before a small girl with white hair in pigtails and doe like crimson eyes came over to their table. " Hello and welcome to Granny's Kitchen. What may I get for you today?" The girl's voice was as light as a feather and she looked to be no more than about ten or eleven years old, dressed in a white apron like dress she had to be the cutest thing on this side of Iwagakure.
Well aren't you just adorable. I will have a smoked sausage breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese, and I'll have another breakfast sandwich wit- Beep..Beep..Beep..Beep..Bee- Umeko's eyes followed the song she heard, not having to look far as she saw her sister fiddling with some sort of device. She had seen it before and she felt her heart sink in her stomach. Umeko knew very well what that beeping sound meant and she just sat back in her chair, taking in a deep breath, holding her hand up and smiling at her sister. I know, go on, we don't them upset at both of us. Watching her sister smile and then quickly plant a kiss on her cheek before rushing out of the restaurant, Umeko couldn't be mad at the girl and returned to ordering her breakfast. Although she was sad she didn't let it get her down, or show it in anyway. Devouring her breakfast and paying for her breakfast, she made sure to order one more sandwich which she tucked away in her hip pack before making her way out of the shop and into the Iwagakure streets. She had a plan to meet up with some other genin for a game of jutsu ball, but she was really up for it now, maybe she'd find something of interests with the people of the village or maybe she'd find someone new to talk too. Hopefully it would be something to take her mind off the fact that her sister had to go off so soon.
