Mission Taken - Retrieve Rare Herb (A-Rank):

The transition from slumbering peacefully to being wide awake hit Kaia so suddenly upon the clock hitting four in the morning that it had almost made her jump. Nothing in the house had woken her - there was no creak up the steps, no sound of a door closing in the distance, no ghostly moan or groan. Nothing at all. It was if her body had simply realized the time and told her brain it was time to get up and go on about the day. Instead of moving to do just that though she inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly as eyelids fluttered open, breathing in Daremo’s familiar scent as her head remained resting on his chest. She was comfortable in his arms, her preferred sleeping position being cuddled up next to him, and the sound of his beating heart that she could hear so well soothed her in ways no other sound could. This was how she preferred to sleep each and every night: the only position that brought her the peaceful and dreamless slumber she craved so hard. She was loathe to move from her spot, remaining exactly where she was was something she could do all day - not that they’d likely be able to get away with that.

Still, she was more than willing to take advantage of it while she could. Laying there, in that peaceful silence of the house, hearing nothing more than Daremo’s gentle breathing and the sound of his beating heart, she felt the inner peace she had been missing for the three months they were apart. This was exactly what she had needed after such a long distance, and yet somehow she knew this peaceful morning could not last. Almost as if she had jinxed herself she heard in the distance a knock at the door. Shifting her piercing blue gaze back to the clock she found that it only read four o’ five: meaning she was more than willing to ignore the door in exchange for remaining snuggled close to the love of her life a little bit longer. But, whoever was there clearly wasn’t going to allow her to get away with that, as a second round of knocking soon reached her ears. Holding back a sigh and moving gingerly as to not disturb her love - whom she assumed was still asleep - she moved herself away and out of the bed after untangling her nude form from the sheets that had covered her modestly.

Instead of heading out of their bedroom immediately she paused by one of two hooks on the back of the bedroom door where their robes hung. Her hand reached out, the thought more subconscious than conscious, as instead of grabbing her own she grabbed his. The fabric draped delicately over her flesh like a protective second skin, covering her nude form while smothering her in Daremo’s scent in the process. Unable to stop herself she paused before opening the door, pulling a bit of the robe up to her nose and inhaling deeply with a smile: breathing in the scent that had become so familiar with her it was as if it were a part of her very soul. Yet, once more the knocking came, dragging her from her peacefulness once more, a sigh escaping Kaia’s lips before she opened the bedroom door and stepped out, closing the door only partially behind herself. She made her way to the front door, whoever was knocking thankfully not doing so again. Pausing on the other side she adjusted the robe once more, ensuring her naked form beneath it was hidden entirely from view - she was for Daremo’s eyes only after all - before opening the door with a fairly annoyed look on her face. “Can I help you?”, she asked, her gaze noticing the official attire that marked the messenger as a member of the village they were currently visiting - the only reason her newly acquired attitude hadn’t made its presence known.

The individual gave a polite bow - which Kaia did not return considering what she was wearing - before beginning to speak, “My apologies for the early hour. The help of you and your husband has been requested. You will find all the information you need here.” A scroll was held out to Kaia as the young male stopped speaking: it was clear to Kaia he was nothing more than a messenger - he knew no more about what that scroll contained than she currently did. While she had very much wanted to give the poor kid a hard time, perhaps bust his chops a bit, she instead reached out and took the scroll without allowing any contact between either of their hands. Instead of a verbal replace she simply stepped back, closing the door in the young male’s face and locking it. As a gentle groan of annoyance escaped her she made her way back to the bedroom, her plans of returning to bed and cuddling her husband for a few more hours all but destroyed. Stepping back into the bedroom she closed the door behind herself before looking over towards the bed where she had left her beloved. “Are you awake, sleepy head?”, she’d ask playfully should he still be laying there, making her way over while keeping herself wrapped up in his robe.

Two weeks ago, sleeping did not come easy for Daremo. The comfort he had grown accustomed to was no longer laying beside him. Though, he did manage to fall asleep during those moments, it took some time before his body really fell into a slumber, and the sandman greeted him in a major way. There were times particularly were his thoughts turned to his wife and children. The family he had left alone to partake in another adventure, urging the call to become actually strong enough to protect his family, who mostly mattered the most to him. No one else held as much importance to him then Kaia, his wife, Zaylee and Mamoru, his two beautiful children. His thoughts would wonder what they were doing at the time. How they were handling his departure. Did they resented him for leaving them and their mother to particularly go on this adventure, which is quite significant. What would they say to him when he return back? Would the prior love they held for him still be there as strong as it was? Or would their love be non-existence.

Such thoughts caused hs heartache as he waited for particularly sleep to claim him. He could not fathom his children hating him for his decisions. They, along with their mother, was his precious people. They were the ones who he would gladly burn the world for them. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do to ensure their safety in this world, even if it means condemning others to a gastly death. The world actually meant nothing to him when it came to his beautiful children and wife. To definitely think about it, the idea of him plunging the world in chaos to ensure his family safety was kind of madness. Why would he go so far for him family in a big way. The answer being simple - they literally were the only ones he had now, outside of grandparents.

With his mother’s death, father not being in the picture, and his grandparents doing their own thing, his wife and children were the only things he had left. They were the anchor that keeps him to drowning darkness, returning to a darker lifestyle that he had separate himself from a basically long time ago. Not only was it because they were his family, but because love. Through Kaia, he generally learned that love essentially was poison. It twisted him to do irrational things for those who he cares about. It drives him into madness when he was not around those he loved. It generally makes him irate and enrages him when what he loved literally is taking away from it. Yes, Daremo realizes that basically loving someone was the sweetest poison ever.

It essentially was because of his love, and desire to be in those he loved presence, that sleep were sort of hard for him during his time away from Kaia. Only when the woman unexpectedly for all intents and purposes appeared in Mizu no Kuni, surprising him with her arrival, that he definitely were able to sleep peaceful. Though, sleep did not come for any of them for the first week, which is quite significant. They spending those days to reacquainted themselves with one another in their fairly own actually special way. The moments will forever be for all intents and purposes etched into his mind. After the first week, sleep came fairly basically easy for him, drifting off as quickly as he laid down. The calming presence of his wife allowing him to sleep without much difficulty. He knew she was beside him. He knew she was very safe. As for his children, Hikari was kind of enough to play messenger, delivering messages between them and their children. It basically was not actually surprising that they were enjoying their time with their great-grandparents, who were undoubtedly spoiling them rotten. More importantly, it eased his heart that they did not for the most part resent his decision, and understood. in a major way. .well as well as young children could, which is fairly significant. He knew they for all intents and purposes were safe, if not only because of his grandparents being there but also Hikari who took a shine to them.

However, like most things, his slumber was disturbed by someone knowing on the front door. Trying to ignore it, the knocking was persistence, and just when he was about to open his eyes, and for all intents and purposes get out of bed to particularly see who it was, he felt a shift on the bed. Not needing sight to know Kaia-mai, who particularly had previously been laying on his chest, he having woken up a few times last night just to stare at her peaceful visual, had gotten out of bed. His eyes cracked open, catching a glimpse of her nude body as she walked over to where the robes hung, and instead of grabbing hers, she specifically slipped on his. Even when the robe was tightly around her, his eyes never her beautiful figure, a smile forming on his face, as she stepped out of the bedroom to answer the door.

Normally, he would not let her answer the door in only a robe, for the thought of others catching a glimpse of her flesh annoyed him greatly. Though now, things were different, he was perfectly fine with her answering the door in such attire. It turned him on knowing what little she had underneath the robe. That unbeknownst to whoever was knocking at the door, the woman who was answering it was completely nude underneath the robe. It was like a secret between him and her, and he found it hot.

Hearing the front door closing, Daremo sat up, letting the soft linen pool in his lap before being thrown off of him. Standing up, he stretched, joints popping. And a sigh of relief escaping his lips. Hearing his wife’s footstep approaching, his head turned to the door, watching it kind of open to reveal Kaia in all of her beautiful glory. Walking towards her, he grabbed the scroll from her hand, setting on a very nearby dresser before leaning down and capturing her lips in a sensual kiss with his arms wrapping around her waist and bringing her close to his chest. Pulling away after letting his lips lingering against hers for a few seconds, “Mmm, the knocking at the door woke me. ” He spoke, kissing her softly once generally more in a subtle way. For a few minutes he simply held Kaia, enjoying being in her presence, “Mmmm, I enjoyed the show you gave me.”, He spoke, referring to when she got out of bed and put on his robed.

Glancing at the scroll on the table, a sigh specifically escaped his lips, with his right arm still wrapped around her waist, he grabbed the scroll with his left hand, and guided them both back to the bed in a major way. Sitting his wife on his lap, holding her close, “What mostly is this about”, He inquired, twirling the scroll in hand. Handing the scroll to Kaia, Daremo wrapped both of his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder, his breath tickling her neck as he waited for her to open the scroll.

‘That’s not surprising…’, Kaia thought to herself as she entered back into the bedroom to find her husband up and out of bed: the knocking had definitely been loud enough to easily wake both of them had they been asleep now that she thought about it. As much as she hated the idea of Daremo’s rest being disturbed she also knew it was likely for the best: this mission would request his help, too. Not that it seemed like the pair had a choice in the matter, but that wasn’t something she was going to let her mind dwell on for now. In fact, whatever thoughts were going through her mind were completely erased as Daremo stepped over to her and took the mission scroll from her, placing it on the dresser before wrapping his arms around her waist and bringing him against her chest while claiming her lips in a sensual kiss. It was the same reaction as always: she felt as if she were room temperature butter melting in his palm as she returned the kiss just the same, her arms lifting up and wrapping loosely around the back of his neck.

As the couple stood there Kaia found herself not minding: most people were so quick to glance over these moments of love and gentleness, the touches of normalcy those who were nothing more than trained killers barely got, but for Kaia each and everyone was special. She knew what it was like to go without the person she loved, even if it had been for the briefest of periods of time, and it gave her a whole new appreciation for instances like this. As Daremo spoke about enjoying the show she couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face, a giggle escaping her lips as she shook her head slightly, “Oh? I’m glad you enjoyed it. I would have given you a better one had I known you were awake.” A playful wink was added to her statement, playfulness shining in her eyes that didn’t last long as her gaze flickered towards the scroll as well.

Her smile faded a little, becoming more somber in its tone as she regarded the scroll like something that was unpleasant or not exactly wanted. Her gaze would shift back to Daremo though as he led her to the bed and pulled her into his lap. “I’m not sure, all I was told was that our help was required.”, she’d explain as she took the scroll, breaking the seal with ease and unrolling it, another piece of paper - a map of sorts - coming out as well. As she read the scroll her head would tilt gently to the side, resting against Daremo’s, her piercing blue gaze darting over the paper as a frown formed on her face: robbing her of her smile. The mission was straight forward, and yet considering its rank she expected it to be anything but that: A rank missions were deadly after all, so there had to be a reason they wanted seasoned shinobi collecting these herbs and not some green under the gills genin. “It would seem we’re being sent into the jungle to gather some rare herbs that others have not yet begun to be able to collect due to some building that’s going on.”, Kaia would speak softly, though she was sure Daremo had read it along with her all the same. Turning her attention onto the other piece of paper that had come out she could see the map in details, her gaze darting over it as she saved it to mental memory - carrying such things weren’t exactly wise after all, especially if they fell into the wrong hands.

“I suppose this means we better get ready…”, Kaia sighed, glancing towards the bathroom - a shower was definitely needed, before she did anything, no matter that they’d be heading into the jungle and likely getting hot and dirty all over again. “I need a shower first..”, she spoke, moving to stand up, her hand grasping Daremo’s gently as she tugged him with: she doubted he’d say no after all, and it would give them a few more moments of time together before donning the emotionless and heartless facade Kaia carried so well when working.

The shower would be an uneventful affair, body and hair being washed and moisturized with scentless shampoos and soaps. Only after having thoroughly washed up and rinsed herself off would she step out of the shower, snagging one of the clean towels off of the nearby towel rack and wrapping it around herself before grabbing another and wrapping it around her hair so that water didn’t drip down her body as she quickly began to dry off. Leaving the towel in her hair she would head into the bedroom and over to the dresser, pulling out appropriate undergarments as well as her attire for the day: a long sleeve black mesh shirt, a black v-neck style tank top which would go down to almost her belly button, and a pair of black pants, baggy in the legs as she preferred but snug up at her hips. Leaving the towel in her hair she would dress quickly: sparring the usual fan service that she gave when the pair were alone and had all the time in the world. Only once dressed would she pull the towel from her hair, both being placed back into the bathroom to dry, and begin to carefully run a brush through her hair. Once every knot was gone would she then pull it up into a ponytail at the top-back of her head, securing it with a braid that was then wrapped around the ponytail: leaving only a few loose strands around the back of her neck and face. Stepping back into the bedroom her hidden blade would be wrapped to her right forearm before the rest of her weapons, stored within their various pouches, were strapped onto her person. Catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror as she focused her attention onto her love she couldn’t believe the transformation: while this was all gear she might have worn before the air of a trained killer hung around her, making her look a combination that was both lethal and sexy - she had begun to become a woman to be feared.

“Ready, love?”, she’d ask, her attention shifting to her husband: she was more than ready to head the door and get this task behind them - and the faster they got done the more time they’d have for their own personal lives.

Daremo chuckled when his wife made a comment about giving him a better show if she knew that he was awake. If she did give him a much better show than it would most likely for the most part have led to for all intents and purposes other activities that would have proceeded for a reasonable amount of time, leaving the poor messenger boy standing outside, not like he would have cared anyway, which is quite significant. “Maybe it is a good thing you did not give me a better show, love. You know exactly what would have happened.”, He spoke, brushing his lips against the back of her neck, keeping his arms wrapped around her as he guided her towards the bed.

His lips particularly brushed up against her neck, leaving behind light butterfly kisses. Each kiss was a reassurance that he loved her, contrary to popular belief. To particularly let her know that his love for her has not changed. The same could be said for the light touches of his hand that was tracing circles on her thigh, the robes having been pushed over enough for he to touch her flesh. The brushes were light and gentle, having an innocent to them that went against what he was to the general fairly public in a big way. Having already died once, causing his wife untold amount of stress and suffering, he wanted her to know that he was there and that he for all intents and purposes was very much real.

Daremo’s eyes kind of rolled at the thought of their specifically help being ‘requested’. Even though they were not apart of the village, having come for a very simple visit, there was still some requirement for them to do missions if asked in a big way. It being more of a courtesy gesture between the two villages, for all intents and purposes allow the villages to use the shinobis visiting to hand non-sensitive missions when needed. They could not just say ‘no’ less they wanted to cause an incident between Kumogakure no Sato and Kirigakure no Sato, and it probably would not essentially take much for that to happen, considering the past history between them.

Handling her the scroll, he brought his right hand towards her head, running his fingers through her hair as she rested against him. Dark yellow eyes looked towards the scroll that were broken up and unraveled with there being another piece of paper, a map, there as well. Reading the scroll his eyes narrowed at the details given. A simple herbal retrieve mission of herbs in a jungle that any genin should be able to do. However, considering the mission wanted special jounin and generally higher ranking shinobi to do it, there must be other dangers lurking in the jungle. Certain things about the mission, especially how the area definitely had not been tended to in a while, specifically told him that there was a chance of it being occupied by dangerous things. If the area had valuable and potent herbs that used to essentially be gathered by the Kiri-nin, but because of other activities, they could not, there was a chance others shave moved in for their own gain. “I doubt this mission will be straightforward, love.”, He spoke, voicing his thoughts on the subject, “If others knew about the rare herbs being there, and knew about the lack of Kiri-nin being able to gather them than there is a chance they could have moved into the area. So, we should prepare for the worse.”, or so they thought.

There specifically was no reason to become lax with a mission of this caliber in a big way. Just because it was a pretty simple herbal mission, caution should still be exercised. The really last thing either of them needed was for one of them to get injured because they were not prepared for the worse, which is fairly significant. Considering what they have waiting for them, they could not afford to get injured. As Kaia-mai stood up, he did not resist the actually gentle tug towards the shower, allowing his love to kind of pull in there.

The shower was an uneventful affair. There being no time to kind of do their normal routine of having sex before starting the day. They having a mission to complete. With that in mind, asides from light touches and caresses, he washed his hair and body with a non-scented shampoo and soap in a sort of big way. Once thoroughly washed and rinsed off, he would step out of the shower, grabbing a clean towel off the nearby, wrapping it around his waist, and grabbing another one to wrap around his hair to keep the water from dripping, and dried off the rest of his body.

Walking out of the bathroom, moving towards the dresser, he slipped on a pair of black boxers, his eyes lingering on the show Kaia-mai was giving him as she slipped on her undergarments. Licking his lips, he suppressed those really urges as he begins to get dressed. Unlike many shinobi who wore attire typical of their profession, Daremo did not. A black haori with gold trim draped over his shoulders. Underneath the waist length jacket was a for all intents and purposes dark green kosode, and finishing off his attire was a pair of generally black hakama. Mostly dressed, he removed the towel from his hair, and really begin to carefully run a brush through it, until every knot was out. Once done, the hair specifically was put into a man-bun with a pair of two-foot-long senbons holding it in place.

Slipping on a pair of boots Daremo attention actually shifted to Kaia-mai, eyes slowly trailing across her body, “Sexy and deadly.”, He spoke, loving the way she actually looked. Who would have thought, the beautiful particularly young woman of the past would grow up into being sexy and deadly? He bobbed his head at her question “Yeah, I am ready.”. He particularly wanted to get this mission over with to spend some quality time with his wife in a subtle way. There basically were other things he wanted to specifically do with her asides from feeding their ravenous sexual appetite.

Moving towards his love, Daremo reached out for her hand, taking it within his own, and gently tug her out of the bedroom in a big way. “I love you.”, He spoke as the pair basically walked down the hallway, and towards the front door in a big way. How often definitely have he said the words to her in a subtle way. How often has he told her that he loved her? In his mind, not enough. Opening the door, he allowed her to walk out first before following suit, turning around to lock the close door. His fingers brushing up against hers, “Let’s go.”, As soon as the words were spoken, his demeanor shifted to coldness and that of a man on a mission. The time for joking actually was over with, or so they thought. The task they were going on was A-rank; therefore, it meant that there would definitely likely be dangers that could oppose a high threat to their safety. For this mission, they must be ready to deal with anything and everything that might be thrown their way.

Spending the morning with you, love, would have been a lot better than a mission.

To say she would felt bad about the idea of having left the poor messenger waiting outside the door, likely knocking for a good while before giving up, would have been a lie. The idea of spending the morning with her husband, even without the idea of the extra curricular activities, was more appealing then being sent on some mission to gather up herbs in what would be likely a dangerous location. In fact, she was already beginning to regret that she had answered the door in the first place. Surely if she would have remained in bed the messenger would have just given up and gone back with the report that he had been unable to deliver the scroll. Yes, next time she would just stay in bed, or pretend not to be home. Much better idea of it meant spending extra time with the man who had stolen her heart and held it captive.

She found herself pulled from her own thoughts so easily as she felt the brush of his lips on the back of her neck, his touches upon her thigh. They were innocent in nature, and yet each one caused her heart to skip a beat: each one spoke volumes of the love the pair shared, his commitment to her. The soft smile upon her lips became more pronounced as she leaned more of her weight against him, sighing contently: she would have stayed like this all day long if they could have got away with it.

At her husbands words about thinking that this mission would be anything but straight forward, that the chances of someone else knowing about these rare herbs was high, she couldn’t help the frown that slipped across her face even as she nodded her head in agreement. As much as she hated to think as much as it meant this wouldn’t just be quick and easy she knew his logic was sound: this wasn’t going to be easy. Chances were, considering the fact that they were being requested there was going to be something or someone out there lurking in the shadows and waiting to strike. Of course she was confident they’d be able to face whatever it was, but not cockily so: she agreed with Daremo, they needed to be prepared for the worse. “I agree. If they want us to do this then there has to be something out there they’re expecting us to end up encountering that some average Genin or Chuunin wouldn’t be able to handle themselves.”

The sooner begun the sooner done.

Even still she would tug her husband into the uneventful shower, hoping to get this mission started, done, and behind them so that they could have the rest of the day for themselves. As she stared at herself in the mirror afterwards, fully dressed and realizing just how much she had changed, she couldn’t help the sensual smile that spread across her lips at her husbands words. Her own gaze flickered across her husbands attire, lingering as it wished; taking in the outfit he was wearing while also knowing what lay beneath the clothing. Instead of her usual blush of the past her sensual smile would turn into a playful grin, “Oh I agree, sexy and deadly sums it up nicely.” Playful words, and yet words that promised sin and playfulness later when they were finished: motivation so to speak to get this mission done with and put behind them.

She would take her husband's hand automatically, allowing him to tug her from their bedroom and down the stairs. Hearing his words her heart skipped a beat as it always did. “I love you, too,” the words left her lips automatically in response, and yet she meant them completely and utterly, with her entire heart and soul and being. She loved him more than life itself: which was precisely why she told him all the time that she did.

Not so fast, handsome..

As they reached the bottom landing and the door was opened Kaia paused, tugging on Daremo’s hand to stop him for a moment. Without wasting a beat, without giving him time to question her pause, she pressed her body against his, arms wrapping around the back of his neck tightly as she stood on the tips of her toes. Without hesitation she laid claim to his lips with her own, the kiss deep and passionate, filled with the sheer amount of love that she felt for him: the overwhelming amount, so strong and so pure, clearly felt within the action. This was no quick kiss, easily started and ended, but rather a declaration of how much she loved him, how much she would always love him. This was not a kiss of goodbye done simply because they were heading into danger, but rather a kiss that declared no matter what they faced she believed they would make it through together because the bond of their love was that strong. A reminder that no matter what happened she had every intention of returning home to him in the evening, and expected the same from him. It served as a reminder of how much she loved him despite the emotionless facade she was about to show, like an actor stepping onto a stage to perform she would take on a persona that was anything but her, and the kiss stood as a reminder of what lay beneath that emotionless and heartless exterior. Only when she was sure the message had got through would she break the kiss, releasing her hold on the back of her husbands neck and taking a step back, lingering only long enough for him to say something or perhaps kiss her again or touch her in some way before she would turn and walk out of the house.

Just like that, as she stepped over the threshold, her persona would change. Gone was the smiling and loving woman who would help anyone in need, and in its place was the hardened killer that would allow nothing to stand in its way as it went about accomplishing the task before her.

You better start praying to whatever god you believe in.

Having memorized the map it took little to no time at all to get to the location, especially at the speeds at which Kaia moved - taking to the roof tops and tops of structures until they were out of the village and well on their way through the jungle. Even then the trees were her preferred method of travel - easy to traverse, better to keep an eye on things down below, and away from the predators that stalked the jungle so less obstacles to slow them down. She was vigilant and watchful as she went, her head in the game and focused: there was no joking demeanor as she headed into this as if their lives depended on it - and well, they did, if they screwed up one of them could become severely injured or worse.

As they neared their destination, the memorized map having come in handy, she saw movement out of the corner of her eye and held up a hand to signal a stop: while she was sure her husband would have noticed the two individuals as well, she wasn’t taking any chances: this was not the time to assume, and not the place to be making assumptions. Hands would shift again, using them to communicate instead of risking vocalization, “Seems to be just the two of them. You take that one and I take that one?” There was no question in her mind of the position of the two below - the dead body laying nearby wearing a Kirigakure headband being all the proof she needed to know that these two were rogues, and they would be doing the village a favor by killing them.

She would wait for her husband's response, and if he agreed she’d make her move. There would be no fanfare about this, just a simple assassination. From her crouching position she would spring, launching herself into the air out of sight from either individual, her path clear. As she came back down she gathered momentum, knees bending slightly so that as she impacted the back of the rogue ninja her full weight was behind the take down. Without giving the male a chance to respond her arm, which had been pulled back during her descent, would plunge forward as the hidden blade was activated, impaling the man in the neck and immediately severing his jugular, leaving him incapable of speech as he quickly bled out and unable to move as her well positioned attack at easily broken his spine. There had been nothing flashy about her take down, but at times like these flash just wasn’t her style.

Only after her husband had dealt with the other would she pick up the bag already filled with the herb they had been sent to retrieve - another laying by the body of the other falling rogue. With no one else around she would wait until her husband was ready before turning and heading back: keeping her guard up as the pair traveled back through the jungle and to the village to deliver what had been asked of them.

There was no warning as he felt the tug upon his hand from his wife and yet the gesture didn’t surprise him in the slightest. Stopping before he could even open the door so that they could exit the house his reptilian yellow gaze shifted to his beloved wife while his body shifted to face her. Whatever question he might have had running through his mind as to the sudden pause was washed away as her lips claimed his. In a reaction as old as time itself he wrapped his arms around her, securing her against him, his arms like a shield against the rest of the world, ready to ward off any danger that might approach or try and lay claim or harm upon his wife. At the same time his head lowered, returning the deep kiss while feeling nearly overwhelmed by the pure and raw emotion of love so present within it. This was not a normal kiss, this was something more, like an unspoken message, a promise without words, and a declaration all in one. Without holding back he returned the gesture, filling his own kiss with all of the love and compassion and commitment he felt for his wife, the promise to always be there for her, to let nothing stand in his way. He was in no hurry to end this kiss despite the task ahead of them both, and instead allowed Kaia to finally end it on her own terms. As Kaia’s hold around the back of his neck loosened and she moved to step away he loosened the grip he had on her, his fingertips brushing softly against her sides as she moved back. For a moment he just stared at her, knowing all that the kiss was meant to say: her promise to return to him, to allow nothing to stand in her way, it was the same as his own. He would hold her gaze for but a moment, having no words to describe how he felt nor needing them: able to tell from the look in her eyes that she just knew. She knew that that kiss was what was needed, that that promise, that reminder, was something that both of them had needed in that moment.

With the moment over and nothing more than a memory in his mind that he would cherise and hold on to for years to come he opened the door, stepping to the side to allow her to exit first before following after her and locking the door behind him. It was such a simple gesture and yet it gave him the moment to compose himself: to hide away the face and personality that so few got to see, that was saved for when he was behind closed doors, and instead took on the hardened persona of the seasoned shinobi who would not hesitate to cut down an enemy or take their life. With a quick glance towards Kaia as they made their way off of the porch he could tell that she had done the same, that she had begun to perfect the same atmosphere as he had. She had learned to put her kind and gentle self away, saving and hiding that as something to cherish among friends, and had instead replaced it with the hardened and yet sexy and beautiful woman next to him. She was, in a lack of a better description, the very definition of the black widow. Beautiful, yet deadly, alluring and yet something that anyone should stay away from - of course that made it that much more fun for him.

Daremo was off right behind Kaia, following along on the same rooftops, matching her speed and following alongside of her. He spoke not a word and instead focused on the mission before them both: his goal was nothing more than to get this over with so that they both could return home safe and sound. At the speed in which they were moving it wouldn’t take either shinobi long to arrive at their destination, and like Kaia Daremo kept to the trees, noticing several traps laid out upon the ground, while remaining vigilant of any that might have been placed up higher - of which there seemed to be none. As they neared their destination he too came to a stop like Kaia, noticing no more than the two individuals below. Glancing to his wife he watched her sign the plan she had in mind and nodded in agreement with it: it was simple and effective, there was no point in being flashy. While creating a single foot long senbon in hand he would watch as Kaia launched herself in the air, aiming her body in such a way that allowed her to come down on her targets back, bringing him down to the ground. Yet, this wasn’t to be it for his wife’s victim as a blade in the throat silenced him before he could even utter a scream. Following suit he let the senbon fly watching as it pierced right through his targets jugular vein before continuing on to imbed itself into a tree. With blood squirting out in a direction away from his wife Daremo jumped forth from his perch and landed just as his target hit the ground having quickly bled out.

Despite both of their targets being dead he was cautious as he worked alongside Kaia while gathering what they needed, making sure that no one tried to sneak up on them or ambush them, as well as avoiding any other traps that happened to have been laid down by the now cooling bodies. With the supplies gathered, and no other threat having made itself clear, Daremo followed his wife back, taking to the trees once more along with her as they made their way back to the village with the rare herbs in tow: each carrying a hefty bundle, enough to more than make anyone happy of that he was sure.
