- Mission Taken - Patrol Duty (C-Rank):
Mission name: Patrol Duty (Repeatable)
Mission rank: C
Objective: Patrol your village.
Location: Konoha
Reward: 300
Mission description: You've been pulled for Patrol duty. Your job is simple, you are to patrol the area you've been assigned looking for any sort of danger or anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Mission details: Your village is a little short handed and so you've been pulled for patrol duty. Your shift is from eleven at night to seven in the morning. You're to patrol the area you've been assigned, which is to your choosing, and ensure that everything is okay. About halfway through your shift you'll come across an Academy student breaking curfew and have to send him on his way, but other than that you won't run into any trouble except for maybe a 'ninja' attack from a local street cat.
....What do you do when you can’t sleep at night? You volunteer to patrol the streets…
Jihi had a plan in mind, a plan that was going to require her coming up with a lot of money: she wanted to be a master of all weaponry, to take her knowledge of Bukijutsu to its absolute fullest. To do that she not only needed to train a whole bunch, but she also needed to run massive amounts of missions so that she could fund her own weapons. Sure, she could easily ‘borrow’ some, but that wasn’t her style. She liked having her own weapons, taking care of them herself, knowing them as intimately as she knew her own limbs. Then and only then did she believe she would be able to use these weapons effectively. Besides, if she was expecting to use another’s there could always be the chance that that weapon wasn’t available, and if she desperately needed it at that point in time it would put her at a severe disadvantage: and that just wasn’t her style.
So, between this plan of action she had, as well as her general inability to sleep at night, Jihi had figured she might as well take a mission to pass some time while her and Simikiel were visiting Konohagakure. She found a fairly good one too: patrolling the streets on the night shift: from eleven o’clock at night to seven o’clock in the morning. She didn’t mind at all, if anything it would keep her from sleeping, keep her from delving into the usual nightmares that plagued her mind like some kind of incurable disease. No sooner had she told Simikiel about her idea - about how this would be something to do during the nights of little to no sleep - he had signed right up along with her, allowing the pair to patrol together as partners: something Jihi would have no other way. If someone was going to watch her back than she wanted that someone to be a person she trusted, and there was only one person who fit that bill: her best friend Simikiel.
Knowing that they would have a busy night Jihi ate an early lunch and then laid down for a nap - finding that sleeping during the day helped to lessen the nightmares, both in having them in general as well as their intensity. Thankfully her nap was nothing more than just that: no dreams that she could remember disturbing her subconscious mind or causing her to toss and turn like usual. In fact, she remained quite still as she slept, the hours counting down until finally, with a soft beeping noise, her alarm clock she had set before falling asleep began to go off.
...I wonder if we’ll run into any sort of trouble tonight, or if things will be peaceful…
Jihi’s eyelashes fluttered open and she found herself yawning and stretching before sitting up and hitting the button to silence the clock - having slept as her usual on top of the blankets and sheets. She didn’t mind the cold she she naturally was, and it was hard for her to sleep being covered up because it made her feel restrained and that caused bouts of panic to set in. She glanced over to see if Simikiel was awake - very gently shaking him if he wasn’t yet - before getting up and making her way into the attached bathroom of their hotel bedroom. She stripped out of her nightshirt along the way and then undergarments, not bothering to close the door behind herself and instead leaving it open in invitation for Simikiel to join her if he wished: it wasn’t like the pair hadn’t seen each other completely naked before, and she was one-hundred percent comfortable being as such around her Simi. She turned the shower on, adjusting the temperature to something warmer if Simikiel was joining her, or leaving it colder if it was just herself, before stepping in and washing herself up quickly but thoroughly with unscented soaps - preferring them to the scented soaps that reminded her of times she’d much rather forget altogether.
Once lathered up and rinsed thoroughly off, she’d step out of the shower and dry off her body and hair, running a quick brush through her short white strands as an afterthought before heading back into their bedroom and over to the dresser. As her usual she picked a sleeveless black turtleneck shirt, a pair of black pants that clung to her hips, and appropriate undergarments. After binding her chest in the usual bandages she dressed quickly, adding her weapons pouches and her Kirigakure hitai-ate loosely around her neck afterwards. Her bow and quiver of arrows were added lastly to her back before she headed out into the kitchen and grabbed up a piece of fruit, biting into it and finishing it off fairly quickly as she glanced at the clock: it was almost time to be heading out - Jihi preferring to be a tad bit early rather than risking being late. She didn’t want to lose the privilege of taking missions after all in Konohagaure. ”Are you ready, Simi?”
