C-rank Mission:

The sky was a dark ominous color, usually Mokuzai would be indoors taking a nap while he let the weather outside run wild as it was how nature intended but today it would be a complete nuisance to him. Earlier within the day he had been summoned by a jonin following the Mizukage orders that had instructed him to take a sudden C-rank mission with another genin who was rather new to Kirigakure and it's lands, the mission was to travel out into the a small village called "Glittering Mist" near the border of the land of water that was apparently known for its merchant items that were worth quite the sum of money. Unfortunately this fortune was why the mission was created as the income the village has generated made it a prime target for a group of bandits that wanted it's wealth.

He would sigh as he was not in the best of spirits to take on such a mission with the current weather situation but he wouldn't dare defy a direct mission given from the Mizukage, suddenly he would feel a wet drop hit his left cheek and he would look up towards the sky to see that the droplets of water were increasing with each passing second until the area all around him became a heavy rain shower. The young Senju would groan in agitation as he quickly started a sprint towards the rendezvous spot at a temple that the jonin had informed him on where to meet the fellow genin, Mokuzai would worry a little about if the genin could find it with the current weather situation but he would just have to hope he would or go looking for him.

After sprinting through the wilderness of Kirigakure he would step into a clear patch of land, through the endless barrage of rain he could see the entrance to the temple that was to be the meeting spot that had to be about eight to twelve meters out.

He would keep on moving towards the location of the meeting place, the rain had seemed to slow down which was a relief since he would not want to engage with bandits in the rain if he could help it. It took him about eight minutes to make it the steps that went upwards towards the temple, he had walked slow to wait out the rain which greatly paid off as it was not reduced to nothing but light drizzle's as sunlight begun to crack through the once ominous sky above. Within a minute he had traveled upwards on the flight of stairs and was at last at the entrance to the temple, he didn't notice from afar but the temple was well made which only looked even more magnificent as the sky was brightly lit with scattering clouds moving away from the area, he would glance at the cherry blossom tree's to his left side and it would fill him with happiness that practically destroyed the bad mood he was feeling earlier.

Now that he was at the meeting spot, he begun to re tighten his headband and bandage's around his arms concealing two scrolls, he would lightly adjust the blade on his left hip as it had seemed to be lightly poking against his side that seemed to bug him a little before sitting down and waiting for his partner to arrive.

The sound of rain echoed throughout the small room he had been staying in. A drop of the outside rain crept its way inside the wooden roof of his room. Pluck. Each second the rain entered his room leaving a small wet pool on the floor. The Hyuga stood beside the window, using the natural light from the outside as a way to read the scroll delivered to him just moments ago. The light from his window would do little, however, with the dark clouds trapping the rays of the sun. Instead, with the white eyes granted by his Hyuga heritage, he would force himself to read the the paper despite the dim lighting. Even the cheapest of motels provided light bulbs, it was a natural requirement for a place of lodging— so naturally his cheap motel room provided one too. However, the water from the leaking ceiling had managed to get inside the faulty wiring of the lighting system. It would be fixed once the rain had subsided, but until then his room remained a dark corner within the confines of the motel. This was all just temporary. No one would ever dare dream of living in such an awful room for the long term. No, he planned on finding a nice place to move into for his remaining time in Kirigakure— hopefully one that possessed its very own training grounds, but until then the cheap motel room was a good a place as any.

Unrolling the scroll, the Hyuga set his white eyes on its contents. He had been assigned to his first mission as a Kirigakure ninja. It was a C-rank mission, the likes of which he had already grown used to. The money would definitely needed as a way to find a more suitable living quarters, and as far as missions went this was a pretty interesting case. He was to purge the surrounding islands of Mizu no Kuni from the vile filth of a bandit tribe. Simple enough. In his service as a shinobi for the village of Konohagakure, he had dealt with a similar situation before. Bandits were nothing to worry about. It was your everyday shinobi mission, nothing stood out… nothing save for the fact that he had been assigned a partner for the mission. Preferring to work alone, he found little need for a partner to come along with him. This was something he could do on his own. It was, however, something that he had no control of. The situation had likely been placed by Kirigakure higher ups in order to test the capabilities of the first Hyuga that they saw reside in the village.

Briefed thoroughly by the scroll, he left bringing his shinobi gear and a clear umbrella. The meeting place was stupid. Were one to elicit the most efficient way to complete the mission, then the meeting place should have been the docks. An area that would allow him to easily get on a boat and travel towards the island upon meeting his assigned and very temporary partner. Every second wasted saw the bandits running rampant on a defenseless town. He almost wanted to bash the head of the unbelievably inept Jonin that had lazily come up with the place of meeting. Nonetheless, there was no use crying over the spilled milk of wasted time. As the rays of the yellow sun slowly seeped from the disseminating gray clouds, he arrived at the designated spot. He closed his umbrella and lay it on the red Torii found in the entrance of the shrine, leaving it there on purpose for the remainder of the mission. A small boy bearing the forehead protector of the Hidden Leaf sat on the damp floor, no doubt it was his assigned partner. “Atsuya Hyuga.” He introduced. “The clock is ticking, I suggest we get a move on. Take us to the docks.”

Mokuzai waited for the person he was assigned as a partner to appear and as he waited he would begin to wonder just what type of partner would he be working with as he was given no information to make a proper guess, although all he really wanted was a partner that could hold his own in battle as he himself only took this mission due to the sudden urgency and wanted to make it a quick and easy process. Seeing as that he had some free time on his hands waiting at the temple he decided he would meditate in a attempt to get a small amount of  chakra control training in before he would have to go on his mission, he would then shift his legs into criss-cross position with his right leg on top of his left while his hands would ball into a relaxed fist before fist bumping each other and holding that pose as he took a deep breath and closed his eye's focusing his chakra within  himself

As he meditated he would become so attuned with the peaceful nature around him that he would accidentally slip into a state of consciousness where his wood release would activate causing small flowers to bloom from the cracks in the tile's of the temple, it wouldn't be long after that he could hear the distant footsteps of someone approaching and he would wager that it was his partner as the only person who know his location other then the jonin and the village head would be him as he was informed of the location. Sure enough as he opened his eye's he would be meant with the sight of a male much taller then him which was obvious from just a glance who also had brown hair but the thing he would notice the most was the pure white pupils he had instantly recognizing them as the iris's of the Hyuga clan of his home and felt eager to talk but just as he was about to speak and introduce himself his partner would quickly cut him off,  “Atsuya Hyuga. The clock is ticking, I suggest we get a move on. Take us to the docks.”

From the way the way the male spoke it would seem he was a man of either few words or was also not in the mood for this mission but in either case Mokuzai would rise to his feet dusting himself off and moving forward in the direction of where the docks was South of their location, "Mokuzai Senju, as you said lets not waste anymore time then we already have." The young Senju wouldn't show but he was slightly disappointed by his partner's disinterest to engage in a conversation but he could not deny that there mission was on a time limit as the bandits could strike the defenseless village at any moment.

"Please do try to keep up." With those words Mokuzai would take  a big jump all the way to the bottom of the temple before starting to run towards the location of the docks, he would hope that his partner Atsuya was following  from behind him and keeping up as just as the Hyuga had mentioned their time was precious. The duo would travel nearly six mile's before they reached a harbor with boats ready to take travels around the many islands that resided in the land of water, Mokuzai would make quick work of finding a man who seemed to be in his late adult years that was evident from their black hair that seemed to lose it's luster as it became a almost gray color too take them to the island where the village that they would be protecting from bandits resided. By a stroke of luck it would seem the ride would end right inside the village and they would  not have to waste even more precious time traveling to it's location which was a relief as he could now be slightly more at ease as they set off towards the island.

It took nearly two hours before the distant sight of the island came into view and Mokuzai would look to his partner before looking back towards the island, once the boat successfully docked the duo would get off before the young Senju would speak "I'll go gather information from the  the villagers so we may come up with a strategy, can i trust you to inform the village head of our arrival?" His tone would be subtle but clear, truth be told he doubt any planning at all would be necessary to take out the bandits but he could not risk the villager's being taken and used as bargaining chips while they engaged them in combat, he could have asked his partner to talk to the villager's but he did not seem like the social type at all.

The child rose from his seat and dusted off the dirt that attached to his clothes. He introduced himself as Mokuzai Senju, no doubt another shinobi from Konohagakure no Sato like him. Nonetheless, it didn't matter in the slightest. He had little care for meeting a fellow Konoha shinobi that found himself in a foreign country. There were more important matters at hand, specifically five of them. Five opponents waited for him, and he'd give them all a first class viewing on the might of the greatest clan the world had ever seen. The mission made for a perfect warm up for his skills. It had been a long journey from Konohagakure, one that saw the need for plenty rest days. All that rest ends today. With introductions out of the way it was finally time for them to leave for the island. The Senju made a remark about keeping up. How annoying, were he able to make his way to the island alone he would have left the child in the dust. He would have to make sure to never take a mission with a partner again. He was a lion, and a lion didn't need help to deal with a group of lowly thugs. Finally they left. The Senju jumped down the stairs of the temple, he followed behind albeit with a distance. He didn't need to follow the exact path of the child. All he ever needed was the general direction, which he would get from watching at a distance. He hopped from rooftop to rooftop, jogging lightly and moving swiftly. Feeling the fresh breeze of the sea from above, he was able to tell where the docks were on his own after a few minutes of travelling. Catch up? We'll see. Utilizing the advantage that came with traversing the rooftops of Kirigakure as opposed to its streets, he landed on the dock entrance long before the Senju did. It was a small victory that made for some mild amusement for the Hyuga.

The boat ride to the island wasn't something that he looked forward to, boats were objects that he could never see himself becoming a fan of. It was shame that there was no other way to reach the island. The boat rented to them was small, and possessed an engine. It clearly wasn't much, but at the very least they wouldn't have to row manually. Assisted by a pilot, the two were taken to the island of Glittering Mist. The process of traveling was tedious and tiring in itself. It had taken them a few hours before the docks of the island were in sight. The village they had arrived to, and the same that had requested the mission, was named exactly as the island. The small village was quaint and unprotected, it was clear why they had been the subject of bandit raids. Finally making shore, the Hyuga would get off the boat soonest as he could. The village was almost scenic, if one ignored the damaged houses and burnt down structures. He'd be the saviour of the small town after he disposed of the rubble. The Senju spoke, explaining his next course of action. Oh right you're here. It was futile to talk to the child. Anyone who needed a strategy to fight knuckleheaded bandits was a lost cause. All they needed was a location and that was it. “The strategy is to find them and annihilate them. Simple. Don't overthink when the solution is laid in front of you.” With his thoughts put into words, he left, walking towards the exit of the docks. Time to find those foolish thugs.

Upon asking a young woman, he was able to find out that the village elder’s house was located at the very entrance of the village, it was at the opposite side of the docks where their boat had landed. Time was of the essence, not because the village was in danger, but because he had more to do than simply dispose of a few unlucky fools. He moved, once again choosing to use the terrain of rooftops to quickly reach his destination. He reached the house quickly, but was interrupted before he could enter or knock.

The sound of a blowing horn echoed throughout the village. How old fashioned. The bandits had done him a favor in choosing to strike right at that very moment. It was the last day that any of them would be able to ever strike fear into the hearts of the innocent. Slowly, they approached the gates. The white eyes of the young Hyuga scanned each of his opponents. “You have three seconds to surrender, maybe then I'd show you mercy.” The villagers cowered in fear, entering their houses and barring their windows. The group of five laughed at his proposition with the strongest looking one of them pointing to Atsuya. “This blind **** thinks he can stop us?” The man was around seven feet tall and was covered with tattoos, in an obvious attempt to look intimidating. He changed his mind. No mercy shall be handed out that day. I shall begin with that fool. Summoning his chakra into the air around him, five clones appeared in front of him. They were the basic lifeless clones taught to all shinobi, but the likes of uneducated bandits didn't know that. The Hyuga and his clones charged into the group of bandits. “Kill him!” The tall man commanded from the back lines, making the rest of the bandits charge into Atsuya’s group of clones.

Slashing away with no semblance of form or technique, the bandits made quick work of the ethereal clones. They disappeared with a field of white smoke. When it all cleared out, the Hyuga was nowhere to be seen. He had disappeared completely, leaving not a single clue to his whereabouts. “Where is he?” The bandit asked. “Above? Behind?” With growing paranoia the man turned his had to look everywhere, yet the white eyed shinobi had completely evaded his sights. “Below you.” His hand grabbed on to the man's ankle. His body emerged from the ground as he slowly buried the man beneath the ground. He left the man’s head, burying everything below the neck. The Hyuga crouched down to the man’s level. “Save me!” He cried, but the chakra clad fingers of Atsuya stopped them. They understood that an inch closer and he would kill their precious leader. “Blind you say? Sounds like the perfect punishment.” With a violent thrust, two of his fingers entered the man’s eyes piercing deep into them. Screams of the once proud bandit chief noticeably shook his subordinates. When it was finished Atsuya slowly stood up. He shook off the blood from his hand. Cold and emotionless, he looked to the remaining four bandits. “Who’s next?” He asked.

Mokuzai would wait for the Hyuga response before he heard him speak,“The strategy is to find them and annihilate them. Simple. Don't overthink when the solution is laid in front of you.” The young Senju's eye's would squint in annoyance as it wasn't about finding the bandit's it was to make sure all the villager's were accounted for and out of harm's way but he wouldn't have time to say that before he walked off.

Just as they were moving towards the village elder's house a loud sound of a horn could be heard ringing throughout the village, it was clearly the sound of the arrival of the bandits and Mokuzai would grin at the luck of just getting there before a raid happened. They moved towards the gate and Mokuzai would count a total of five bandits in front of them with one obviously having the appearance and posture of a leader,  “You have three seconds to surrender, maybe then I'd show you mercy.” the Hyuga would say as Mokuzai could hear the shifting movements of the villagers cowering inside their home's which made his job much easier, while the Hyuga dealt with the leader the young Senju would move around them unseen as to sneak up to the side and wait until they were completely focused on his partner.

Luckily his partner made quick work of the leader albeit without a hint of mercy as he would poke his eyes deeply that could have very well killed them, but that wouldn't matter as Mokuzai would weave quick hand-signs before holding his right arm up to his mouth and releasing a powerful jet stream of water towards the bandits in which hit all of them all at once due to being paralyzed in fear of the sight they just witnessed. The stream was powerful without them holding up any defense knocking them all away to the nearby tree's with the force knocking them out all at once, He would then walk over to the bandit's before starting to tie them up.

Once he was done with his work he would turn back  to the Hyuga, "Your still here? Go ahead and leave i know you want too, ill take care of the rest of this mission" Mokuzai would reach into his pocket before throwing a bag that held some weight too it "That's my payment for this mission, go ahead and take it and be on your way." Now turning back he  would continue to tie them up and lift each one of them onto the boat to transport them to Kirigakure so they may pay for their crime's.

“Who's next?” He asked, to the faces of bandits scared shitless. Some cursed. Some called out to their now blinded leader. All of them shaken from the tangible killing intent that emanated from the Hyuga. Filthy criminals. A poor stream of suiton jutsu moved the distracted fools to a tree, knocking them all out in comical fashion. Pathetic. Any criminal who fell to such an impotent jutsu deserved far worse than to simply be unconscious. With the bandits utterly defeated, doors began to open. The villagers who had watched silently from their windows celebrated the downfall of their oppressors. You’re welcome. He’d leave the grunt work to the assigned partner who, in his mind, only managed to luck out in taking all of the bandits out with a jutsu for children. He wiped his bloody hand on the clothes of the fallen bandit leader and made his way to greet the admiring crowd. He was their hero, and rightfully so. He took his time, enjoying himself in the praises of the villagers… though his joy would be cut short.

Like a true fool the assigned Senju began shooing him away from the area, as if he had done anything useful. The kid tossed him a bag of ryo and ordered him to leave. He’d catch the pouch and throw it back to the fool’s head. “How dare you, kid. Didn’t anyone teach you respect?” He approached, walking slowly. From his anger, chakra welled up in his eyes. “I could kill you right where you stand Senju, but I will show mercy. Think of this as a warning. Address me in this manner again and you will die.” Cold and emphatic words exited his mouth. His blank eyes spelled death, but no chakra ran through them.

With his mood spoiled he would leave the island. He’d remember the fool’s name…
