Syekren set out from the administration building, with a large sack of flyers attached to his back via a leather strap. He was to deliver them about the village in any way he saw fit, then he was going to be off to the exams stage to set up the traps that the genin would have to run through in the obstacle course. He had quite the busy schedule for a ninja that was close to retiring age, but he felt as fit as a fiddle despite being a man of thirty years. He would hurry to get these jobs done so that he could relax and watch the exams, cheering his student, Izumi Karisuma on as she fought the other genin. There was much to do and these two tasks weren't even the tip of the iceberg for him. From what he remembered of other tasks, he would have to actually capture wild animals or clear them from the back of the great Genbu.

The ninja sighed as he ran through the village, pulling the flyers out that were laced with a special substance to have them stick to surfaces they were placed on until removed. He would pull one out and slap it onto a building's side, then move on to the next. Telephone poles and buildings would all get decorated with the flyers in his run through the village, the ninja thinking to himself the entire time that he thought he would be above such menial tasks. He didn't actually mind doing the work, but it was quit a bit of duty for someone of his rank and station. He was a former ANBU for godsake, and here he was in the middle of the morning dashing about to deliver and hang flyers for the chuunin exams when he could be a proctor or even looking for missing ninja.

Syekren stopped amidst a small gathering of people, handing one flyer out to the lot of them, bowing his head respectfully as they accepted his gift. They would of course look them over to see just how many of the ninja from the hosting village of the clouds would be participating. Which was, to be fair, quite a few, but not as many as they probably would have liked. Such was the case of a declining village, but thankfully for the people, there was a new Raikage as well as the exams taking place. This would bring popularity that was much needed for the village to bolster its numbers and hopefully lead it back into the prosperity it once knew three centuries ago after the end of the fourth great shinobi war. Syekren stopped in his delvieries, looking up to the sky as he pondered how his life came to the situation he was in at that point. He sighed and shook his head after a moment, returning to his duty of running about the village, hanging and delivering flyers.

He stopped to chat with a few shop owners who were just opening up, waiting for the steady influx of customers the exams could bring. Being a shop of miscellaneous items and weapons, there was likely no end to the profits one could make off of war and battles or even trials. He was allowed to hang a few posters on their building and took the time to discuss his other task with them, setting traps in the obstacle course for the genin. They were a bit taken aback by something so dangerous for a moment, but realized that such a thing was good for those who wanted to become greater than the bottom rung. They would supply his tools and traps if needed, and asked that he advertise their shop when he set the traps with their tools and such, so that it would drum up even more business. The ninja nodded in acceptance, thanking them for their time and promising to stop by before he went off to his next task. For now, he'd have to finish handing out the flyers.

He walked about the village now, running low on flyers in his sack, taking a leisurely stroll to save his energy. He'd done enough running initially to make sure that his quota would be met. He was only one of many delivery persons and would likely run out before he even covered a sixth of the village. This was all well and good though, as he finished handing out flyers to another small crowd of people looking about the village, they thanked him and he bowed, reaching into his sack to get a count. When his hand touched nothing but hard leather, the man knew this task was complete and he dashed back towards the shop owners' weapons store so that he could fill the sack with their tools to use for the next object of the day: setting trap in the obstacle course for the genin in the exams.

When Syekren arrived at the weapon store, the owners were reading everything in their shop and serving a few customers who had come in early. Whether they were looking for new weapons or tools for the exams, each of them looked rather young and not likely above the rank of genin. They probably wanted to see how well they could do with something other than just jutsu and their bare hands. It was admirable, to be sure. Syekren himself only ever used his fists and jutsu, but could recall using his tanto as well. He'd just gotten his trench knives and hadn't a chance to actually use them or test them out just yet, but he was confident they would do the job as well as he'd need them to. Still, the owners were helping other customers and the older Uchiha man would wait calmly, looking about the shop for anything he might want or be able to use for himself. There were a great many tools and weapons upon the shelves, not that he knew how to use most of the weapons about the place, but he would still likely be able to use some of the smaller weapons, such as daggers and brass knuckles. There were even specialized ninja tools for conducting lightning through their chains or for pairing with other similar jutsu. Syekren rubbed his chin in thought as he stared in wonder at everything before him.

He picked up a special three pronged kunai that looked as though it would fit better in a set of torturer's tools. Next to it were a few more of the same kunai, as well as medium sized shuriken, just barely smaller than Fuma. They looked as though they could be used for strategies including misdirection if one could throw them quickly enough. The strategic boon that would come from having a large amount of tools was not lost on Syekren, he just didn't usually see himself using such tools when he had fists that worked just as well. His hand came up to stroke his beard in thought as he looked over the tools and wire he could use to form a multi-pronged attack. Something that would likely overwhelm any enemy he came into contact with. That is, if he could use them well enough. Still, the Uchiha would look over all the items and tools about the place for a little longer, trying to decide exactly what he would do with each of them if he was given the chance to do so. There was likely more holes in plans made with just looking at such items, than with actually using them and trying one's hand at developing strategies on the spot for each opponent. Such was the ninja world, wasn't it? Thinking of the best way to kill those you came across, and realizing that one plan would not fit all situations. Perhaps he would have to purchase some new weapons and tools at a later date, for now though, he was on a mission.

Speaking of the mission, the shop owners had finished with their customers and were approaching the shinobi who removed the leather sack from his back, placing it on the counter. "You see anything you like or are you here for the tools to restock the obstacle course?" Syekren spun one of the three pronged Kunai around on his finger, tossing it up a few times, before placing it back on the counter. "For now, I think I'll just take the tools and such for the obstacle course. I would love to get myself some new tools and weapons at some point, but right now I'd like to finish my missions so I can move on with the rest of my duties. I'll have to come back to this shop after I'm done with those duties, however, as I do see quite a few things here that will be useful to me in my..ventures." The owners nodded and smiled, making to grab the sack the Uchiha had set down, gathering about a few miscellaneous tools and weapons for the obstacle course that would be useful. This would include but not be limited to: strengthened wire, kunai, shuriken, caltrops, metsubishi balls, and even a few windmill shuriken for the proctors to toss at the genin doing the trials. With a bow to them Syekren would take the bag and leave a coin purse that had a generous amount of money in it for their service. They likely thought to give it to him to use for the exams freely, but he wanted to make sure they knew their efforts were appreciated.

When he left the shop, Syekren placed the leather sack upon his back once more, walking quietly towards the gates of the village. When he reached the gates, he turned right and started walking towards an older part of the village, abandoned specifically for the exams' trial of an obstacle course. There would of course be many people in crowds perched upon the rooftops in bleachers and seats of their own, watching for the next genin to approach. Unfortunately, instead of the next contestant they would see the Uchiha approaching with his KUmogakure hitai-ate shining in the sunlight. They watched him while he approached and began to string the wire he had received between posts, to reset a simple trap. When he did this, he moved to a wooden shuriken launcher, carefully reloading what shuriken he could into it so that it would click back into place with confirmation that he'd reset it correctly. After which, he approached the two proctors waiting around for their next contestant and handed each of them a large fuma shuriken so they would have what they needed come time for the obstacle course to begin.

A few more wires to reset and this time instead resetting another launcher, he would grip the wires between his index finger and thumb, causing chakra to run between the two points of his fingers, sparking electricity onto the conductive material. Due to the nature of the sparks, being that they were made of chakra, they would last long after he left, up until it was time for the next person to take the trial. This would go on for a while, resetting traps very carefully and slowly, to make sure that no matter what he did he wouldn't set them off again before it was time. The crowd above had stopped watching after the first or second trap he rest, due to losing interest in what was going on. It wasn't that he wasn't interesting himself, it was that the act of resetting traps for the contestants was rather boring to watch. They would just talk amongst themselves now, ignoring the man far below who would be emptying his sack little by little using everything for the traps he could. He even set a few new traps due to the fact he had a large amount of tools and weapons left over. Not really large, per se, but definitely more than he expected to have. In truth, he didn't expect to have any of his tools and such left over. Still, it wouldn't be too much trouble to make a few new traps and obstacles for the genin that would be running this specific trial. They could likely do with a few surprises if any of the other genin decided to tell them about the trials. He didn't expect many of the genin to be poor sports about such a thing, but you never knew these days with how people liked to be. Syekren sighed and shook these thoughts from his head, going back to his duties, not stopping until all of the tools and weapons were used up for the traps. When he finished, the Uchiha sighed and threw the sack to a proctor so they could use it for whatever they needed. He was done with what he had to do for the day and decided to head out, back towards the administration building. He would likely take a few more missions after this so he could make a bit of extra ryo and earn the trust of the ninja in the village he now inhabited. It was a long road, but he was prepared for it.  There wasn't much that could turn the Uchiha away from a mission he gave himself, certainly not trying to win the hearts of those around him.  The Uchiha smirked to himself and continued his walk to the administration building, looking forward to his own trials.
