Nova was unsure if she wanted to enter herself into the Chuunin Exams, she had never really interned herself to be a offensive type of shinobi, but the power that puppets possessed made it hard to resist the urge to test her skills. She had watched many a fight, both practice and in the field, and felt as though the fact that she was concealed within the hard shell of her puppet gave her a distinct advantage. She had potential modifications that she would make to Kurogokegamu to make him more efficient in battle, but lacked the ability to channel chakra from within the hull of the puppet through it. She poured over books in the library on Kugutsu for information on how to do such a thing. Several times a day she would practice trying to channel through the strings with which she controlled the arachnoid being, sometimes achieving a slight green glow off of the reflective surface. Though she did not have many offensive jutsu, being able to cast them from the interior was essential for Nova herself was neither strong nor tough. Kurogokegamu truly served the purpose she had created it for, to make up for her physical faults.

Aside from the ability to use jutsu through the arachnid puppet, being able to channel her chakra into it would make it more durable, and able to take some of the savage damage that other shinobi were able to deal from chakra of their own. She would sit at the end of the bed late into the night and focus her power into the puppet, trying to form a permanent link between her and it. Each day she felt closer to it, at one point even being able to use a healing jutsu through its spindly legs before losing the connection she felt to it. It felt constantly at the tips of her fingers, and though she had gained much knowledge on the subject in the library, feared that she might not be able to do it. Nova however was determined, as much as anything else to prove that she was just as capable as the rest of the genin entering in the exam despite her physical impairment. Though it felt like forever, Nova had finally channeled so much chakra into the object that she felt as though she was bonded, a small portion of her chakra built a connection from her to it that she was able to pour more through it to use jutsu out of her puppet.

Though this made little difference right now, this step made her feel as though she was capable of improving her skills, and that she would stand a fighting chance against those she might be pit against in battle, from the upcoming Chuunin exam to the possibility of a real battle, such as what had made her leave her home village of Suna that day. With a determined expression on her face, she resolved herself to sign up to compete.
