The idea was quite simple, really. A training station/program for her fellow Genin, to help them all prepare for the exam. Xiang wasn't exactly the strongest of all the Genin in the village, but she knew there would always be one particular thing she was better at than nearly anything else.

The Art of Training.

That being said, what's better than training all on your lonesome? Training with other people, especially people that could all learn something from you, while you take from them, too. It was a social exercise, physical exertion, even of the mind, all culminated into one. But Xiang decided to go beyond that; with the upcoming Chunin Exams on the horizon, not only did she want to prove herself, but she wanted to fight capable Genin, in fights that weren't one sided and entertaining for all sides...and in the end, to the point all combatants came out, at the very least, respecting one another, maybe even becoming friends.

In order to accomplish this, using her family's wealth as the conduit for her splurge, she sought out all types of books, exercise equipment, wooden weapons, her own self created chakra tags, refreshers, and even got one of the chefs in the village to cater for her. Granted, this person also cooked for her family from time to time, but it was still over the top. Then, she went to work in an abandoned part of Konoha, not really touched by anything but perhaps tiny critters, setting up stations for all the basics they'd need, a sparring ring, study hammocks, the chef's stand, and finally, a sign up station. It's needless to say she was putting way too much effort into an event that no one may likely show up to. But Xiang was determined to try, and that's all that mattered to her.

After making sure the place she was advertising would be ready, Xiang then went around the village around midnight, the very start of today, and covered any populated areas she could think of with posters, inviting any and all Genin signing up for the Chunin Exams to come on down to her setup, promising tutoring and training exercises for all. To be completely honest to everyone, though, she also said that while they weren't the best at Ninjutsu specifically, she could help the most talented individual in such on tutoring the others, if needed. With all the preparation anyone could need, she went back to her training paradise, and took a nap in the hammock, waiting until morning, the time at which was listed in the ads that it'd be open.

At the crack of sunlight, she was up and at it again, sitting all pretty on her little chair behind the sign-in stand, her fingers entwined with each other, her light blue eyes staring into the distance, and a big, joyful smile on her face. Today was going to be an interesting day.

Kanro once again woke up to the sound of her alarm clock ringing on the side of her left ear telling her it's time to start her day, although it felt like the usual morning she knew her day wouldn't add up to yesterday event where she convinced Junpo her romantic crush and rival to train with her for the day before ultimately pulling their money together to go out and enjoy a meal, but before they finished Junpo revealed that he and his family were moving out of Konohagakure and into an unknown village his parents wouldn't tell him about. Her enthusiasm was at an all-time low for the day's events but Junpo or not the Chunin Exams was approaching and as one of the many genins participating from Konoha it was her duty to give it her best effort but she needed to keep training for that, finding a small amount of will to get up Kanro made her way off her bed as she started to get dress by putting on her long green and brown kimono that stretched down all the way to her knees, the right sides sleeves had been torn off and replaced with bandages wrapped around her arm for covering, despite the long kimono Kanro wore pure white shinobi pant's and a pair of shin guards that followed the same green and brown theme of her kimono to protect  her legs from harm, she then finally wrapped a dark brown scarf around her neck and then put on darkly rimmed goggles that concealed her eyes from everyone else.

Once she was out the door she began making her way towards the training grounds within the far north side of the village, with the chunin exams closeby she figured that quite a few genin would already be at the site and she could find a suitable partner to train with although it might prove difficult with most genin not being able to look past the whole bug attack ordeal. Not too far in her walk when she was passing the supermarket area she saw a group of her peers all hunched over clearly looking at something that was attached to one of the metal poles, Kanro approached the group casually as she called out, "What...is so interesting over here..?" Unfortunately the moment she spoke the group looked at her appearance and instantly knew who she was and quickly started to scatter going about their business as if she was never there, Kanro was far to use to this type of reaction already but her curiosity about what they had been gazing upon was still in full blast so she stepped closer to the metal pole and found there was a piece of paper on it in which she tore off for a more detailed reading, the flyer  seemed to be an invitation for all chunin exam participants to come out and participate in training together at an abandoned part of the village where a group of different areas to improve  would be provided, Kanro had to admit the offer piqued her interest but what made her really interested in who would host such a thing that seemed to appear overnight.

Kanro decided to go but she wouldn't just sign up first, once she made her way close to the site she would introduce herself to the first person as Kanro Aburame and then challenge them to a sparring match, although the training and whatever the event offered was tempting it would be an ultimate waste of time if the people there weren't even ninja or at least could hold their own against her in a spar.

It was an early morning for the teamless Kumonosu Zinan. Ever since his sensei disappeared from Konohagakure and his newly formed team dissolved, Zinan did not find the need to wake up at the morning's first light to go and train. He could train during the afternoon and the cooler hours of the evening. It was not as if his father wanted him in the estate any way. Normally, he would find his way to the least populated training ground or gym by the middle of the afternoon and slowly work his way into a sweat. Then, after the sun had been set for a few hours, he would make his way to a bath house to soak and relax the strains of training away.

Today, however, was a little different. He had been asleep in one of his normally napping trees when he was rudely awoken by the sounds of, what he could tell, a festival being prepared. He could even smell the warming of vegetable oil in several woks. Enticed by the promise of warm food early in the morning, he sat up from the branch across which he had been stretched. He ran a hand through his shaggy, raven black hair and shook his vigorously. Zinan scowled as a few leaves and small twigs fell out and landed on his midnight dyed tunic and brushed them from his chest. He gathered his black cloak, which he had been using as a pillow, the book he had been reading, "Visions Through Chakra", and the waterskin that he had hung on a nearby tree limb. He stuffed his hand into the gear pouch that was strapped to his left rear waist to do a quick inventory of his supplies. Good. Everything is here, the genin thought, pleased that nothing had been stolen.

The Kumonosu dropped from the branch and landed quietly on his feet, knees soft, and began to follow his nose towards the luring scent of greasy food. He knew that it was still morning, but he had hoped to find some alcohol at this festival as well. As he walked, Zinan found it interesting that the intoxicating scent was drawing him to one of the more scarcely populated areas of the Village. He had known the area to be mostly abandoned.

When Zinan rounded the last corner that separated him from the festival, he was mildly disappointed. Instead of vendor stalls and festival food, he found gym equipment, sparring rings, reading areas, and a single chef. "I woke up for this? he muttered to himself. With a sigh, he approached the check in desk. He did not see many people at this event this early in the morning. Through shrouded eyes and hushed tones, he asked the person at the desk, who seemed to by a Hyuga. "What is going on here? I thought there was a festival going on."

Xiang was a patient gal, capable of meditating for nearly a day straight if it meant the betterment of herself. That being said, for once she was a bit antsy, just sitting there like a little idiot in the scorching heat of the sun. From the clouds slowly crossing the skies, she could at least tell it would not be as heated soon, but it was irritating her that no one had come yet. It would take about three hours before any living life at all would show its face.

What she was met with was a Shinobi from one of the other ancient clans in their village, a girl named Kanro, from the Aburame clan. Xiang had never met anyone from that bloodline personally, but it was an interesting sight. She had a set of stylistic black goggles, paired with a long brown scarf, a big evergreen kimono, and various protective barriers, such as bandages and shin guards. It was almost a little ridiculous, wearing so much clothing with the giant flaming star in the sky right now, but her style was way too cool to complain to her about it. The only complaint she would have is she could barely see the person inside itself, but from what she heard about their clan, that was probably for the best.

In any case, the young woman before her ended up asking for a sparring match right after introducing herself. This surprised Xiang a little, making her quirk her trimmed brow, but she quickly shrugged and smiled to herself, standing up out of her chair, and looking at her in the goggles. She did set up a sparring ring, so it's not like this would be an odd request out of nowhere, though she somewhat doubted that was their reasoning. Yet this wasn't the last person she had to deal with today, as moments after she replied, "Well, I don't see why we can't spar...alright, sure!, another person, this time a guy, stepped up to the plate.

The young man's question was rather bizarre to her. She had set flyers up everywhere she could spot for this self made event, so it was a wonder how anyone could have mistaken this for a festival, especially with it being in an abandoned part of town. But she wasn't in any position to be rude or condescending; he still came here for a reason. If he was thinking of festivals, it might of been the scent of oil and meat that drove him to her. Well, time to answer his question, she supposed.

"Ah...no, not a festival. This is a training event to get Genin ready for the Chunin Exams...run by one, too. I'm getting prepared as well, so I thought I could help everyone and myself at the same time if we all trained together...especially since I do it everyday, in a multitude of subjects. You can join if you want...I mean, it's free food if you do, as long as you're actually training."

This was going to be a very odd day, wasn't it?

Zinan eyed the, apparent, Hyuga girl as she spoke to him. A training event to prepare for the Chunin exams? That sounded like it took a lot of effort to prepare and, to Zinan, too much effort to participate in. He sighed. "So, this is not a festival?" He thumbed to the only chef stand. "And that is the only chef here?" If this was not a festival, that meant that there was no festival chefs and food vendors. No festival chefs and food vendors meant no festival foods. No festival food mean to festival food coma. No festival food coma meant that Zinan wasted his time to come here.

He sighed again. She did mention free food. "What does this training consist of? If it is too strenuous of a regimen, then the free food is pointless." What good would eating meals do, if you continued to burn it off faster than you could store it.

Zinan shook his head, freeing his mind of a momentary reverie, only to notice the third person that was standing nearby. He immediately could tell that the girl was of Aburame descent: the constant swarm of small bugs around was more than enough to give it away. Zinan narrowed his eyes at the sight of her. Aburame's were the scum of the earth and they overshadowed any and every kind of insect manipulating clan on the planet. His own clan did not rise like theirs, due to their diverse abilities.

He shook his head and turned his attention back to the Hyuga girl. "All weapons and jutsu can be used, as long as it is not a lethal weapon, correct?"

The audacity of the young male Genin currently in front of her was actually starting to get on her nerves. That being said, it wasn't really her place to get angry at a stranger like that, even if she really wanted to sock him. People don't get the joy of delicious food without first putting forth the effort in order to obtain it! With her short fuse starting to get in the way, what with this indignant guy and the woman that just seemed to want to spar her, she almost didn't realize that the chef had fallen asleep. Uh oh, that couldn't be very good.

In fact, it was so horrible that it just so happened that the burgers currently being grilled on the portable stovetop had started to burn and catch fire. This fire then attached itself to some spilled oil, traversing across the whole counter, infecting wrappers, wood, and more food, such as lettuce and onion in its heated fury, burning bright and greedily. This caused the young Hyuga to gasp out of sheer surprise, then immediately ignore everyone else, jumping forwards in order to knock the chef out of the way of any more fire. As she did, it continued to spread quite quickly, almost as if it was set on purpose, though any evidence of that was nowhere to be found. All that there was to see was that it was destroying and ruining everything she had set up today. Why did it all have to end the way it did, after all her hard work?

Almost on the verge of crying by now, she quickly ran into one of the buildings, then ripped a fire extinguisher from off of the wall that she brought along for the event, then began to shoot and sputter the thick, white retardant foam all over at the center of each flame. Though the fire had burnt powerfully out of nowhere, it was quickly reigned in due to her thinking and resourcefulness. Sometimes, it helped to be overly prepared. That being said, she probably could have planned more for the event of her own personal chef passing out on her. The dude was still asleep, too, slobbering on the floor like a pig. Seeing this made her scoff, kicking a bit of burnt meat onto his face and walking away from him, disgusted at how he could have possibly let this happened. Her work was ruined, and now no one would be able to train with her, plus she would have to probably clean this whole mess up by herself, seeing as the only one responsive enough would probably leave because he didn't get his precious food.

"...I'm very sorry all of this happened, but I believe it's in your best interest to go. Have a good day. Please, don't get hurt on your way, I don't want anymore fires to be started here. I hope you understand my situation."

Zinan watched as the face of this Hyuuga girl draw irritated. He gave himself a mental shrug; his personality was not necessarily the best suit for everyone around him. He was gruff and, most of the time, self-serving. He looked out for number one and number one was himself. In fact, he preferred to keep speaking and interacting with others to a minimum. Most other genin in his village were bumbling fools who did not know the pointed end of a kunai from the rounded end. Perhaps operating without a sensei or a team for a long spell has left him jaded towards the genin of Konohagakure that were able to function within a team setting. Even when Zinan had a team and a sensei, he was left mainly to his own devices. Uchiha Kyohei-sensei was a strict teacher but wanted his students to develop in their own ways. Uchiha-sensei understood Zinan's motivations and where his strengths laid and helped steer the Kumonosu genin towards the Konoha Military Police Force or the ANBU forces. That was, after all, the two most important and elite groups in the village.

Zinan was shaken from his mental superiority rant when a smoky scent drifted across his nose. His eyes drew wide as he followed the Hyuuga girl's path to the chef stand. As she knocked the man clear from the burning tent, Zinan let out a high-pitched and girly yelp. He had spotted the burning burgers and the rest of the food. He dropped to his knees and scooped up a handful of dirt. "Not the burgers..." he whimpered, as he slowly let the dirt slip between his fingers. He fought back tears as the fire spread through the rest of the tent, ruining the rest of the food. He snorted back another tear as the Hyuuga girl fought the fire into submission with the fire suppressant.

When the girl spoke to him about leaving, Zinan stood to his feet, resigned and despondent. He sighed, as he supposed the girl was right. He, weakly, lifted a hand in a depressed wave and turned away from the fighting festival and trudged down the road.

So much for the free food....
