Maigo

Maigo

D-rank
The first one approached Maigo, his sharingan blazed in to life with each arm encompassing the new eye of his. But that wasn't what was giving Maigo his strength. Instead, it was a fiery rage that burned within him, that his eyes carried even more heavily than anything else on his person. His Mangekyou Sharingan had 4 prongs and normally, would leave a cold tint on the air but his own rage burned deep within him, igniting everything around him into that heat. The big man was first, his giant hammer was looming over his head and his grip tight. He yelled with power as he began to climb down but Maigo's eyes read the situation through, and dragged his sword with his wrist.

The giant blade heaved through, the metal made contact, Maigo gritting his teeth as he pressed onwards in his swing and let the blade began to sear through the flesh. It was quick, the big man was disassembled almost immediately but Maigo had no time to wait. With every inch the blade cut through the resistance grew, cutting through thicker muscle and bone, he cleaved his body nearly in half, just above his belt-line at an angle traveling upwards. His body strangely lingered together, holding itself in place but shimmering as the blade passed through and his torso dragging with it. The blood was the most unique part, it splattered at first, soaking the steel of the blade as it passed through, lumping with each pass.

The blade finally tore through and the momentum was tough, Maigo's body rotated, his heels dragging dirt along with him as he turned his shoulders and sought out a target, one random and scrawny bandit that emerged from the shadows was in waiting at a distance with a crossbow. It was an easy target as Maigo turned his momentum and began to speed up his rotation, jumping from his feet and kicking the big man's torso to let his upper body separate and jump from his lower half Maigo then threw the great sword outwards. The large man, his body gave another interesting detail as his body separated, the blood and entrails didn't fall out completely, they hung together and the initial blood spilled out in a solid splash but it seemed... to drip after that. Maigo of course, didn't linger long on the little details, he was too busy marking his next targets.

The blade traveled through the air and with a keen sense of projection, hit the rat-like scrawny ninja and pinned him into the wall. The blade cut cleanly through his midsection and out his back, digging just far enough into the wall to pin him there in shock at the pure damaging power of it. All he would remember is the trail of blood leaking from the side of his lips and the pain in his stomach, his head looking down at his situation and then falling down limp in his death.

With his death, Maigo had effectively ended the lives of two bandits in a mere moment, still spinning from the strength and momentum needed to throw the sword with that strength he was reeling but his eyes were marking everything. The women above was still above, she'd loaded her bow with two of those arrows and had taken aim towards Maigo already. The other bandit with nunchucks had charged in, the pole axe to his side as they sought to seek vengeance on Maigo for his transgressions against their group.

But it was Maigo's who rage was greater, they knew not what they were running into, his own own anger had seeped into his bones. It felt like it had made him stronger, like he would be invincible for a few moments, the adrenaline had blocked out everything and his eyes craved for their blood to be spun out and spilled across the land they stomped over.

Maigo's feet came downwards, the man with nun chucks spun the one in his left hand and lashed out with his right, the arm coming into contact with Maigo's face right at his nose. The man with the pole axe stepped forward and jabbed with the weapon, Maigo raising and arm as he reeled back, the spike tearing through the tissue between bicep and piercing straight through as the man held him up. The bandit with nun chucks threw a quick combo, three strikes to Maigo's cheek, jaw, and chin at once while the pole arm drove him forward and off balance, trying to extend the spike near and into Maigo's body.

But Maigo wouldn't let it happen, his rage was greater than theirs and he would make it know, had to make it known. He'd just promised Kazuya, his own blood that he would avenge his mistakes one by one. There was a small moment of clarity, where the monk with nun chucks stepped back and gave a grin to the caught Uchiha. Next came a small whirring through the air followed by an immense pain, his eyes tracking down to find two arrows had hit him. One had landed into his chest, not very deep but deep enough that he could feel the barbed end of it now pulling against the pectoral muscle. The other, landed center into his thigh, on the topside as he fell to a knee and let it move about in the muscle tissue of his leg.

It was this pain that brought him his moment of clarity, for the briefest instance, he was seen in true clarity. Maigo thought he saw clearly before, he knew that rage brought that about and pretended to let him see the world for what it is; what it truly was. But this was different, true clarity at his words, the vow he'd just taken, he wouldn't be subdued so easily, even if it cost him his very being. With a labored breath he steadied himself, reaching down and grabbing the arrow in his leg, he broke the end of it so just a small part of it was extended out. The man with the pole axe had stopped pushing forward, regaining his balance? It didn't matter.

Maigo jumped upwards and held his arm out, gaining as much distance as he could and letting the steel spike leave his arm and the small splatter and trace of blood from the wound leak forwards. He landed a few feet away, the nun chuck warrior was moving in, spinning his weapon rapidly, Maigo's eyes keeping track of the weapon as best he could. The man lunged forward and Maigo rotated his chest letting the bar of the nun chuck he threw outward at Maigo's face to miss him by a small margin. A few more steps forward in a flurry of combinations at Maigo as he dodged where he could by back stepping and keeping distance.

It was the one with the pole axe that encroached heavily on Maigo's stance, his eyes watching the other bandits around him shift about and find advantageous positions. The man with the pole axe jumped high in the air and prepared to cut Maigo in two, but his movements were dull and obvious, they stuck out terribly and it gave Maigo his chance to sidestep it, moving towards the man with nunchucks as the pole axe dug into the ground and sliced it open. Maigo's left hand grabbed the shaft at about waist height and he jumped from it, planting his right foot into the chin of the bandit and separating him from his weapon.

With the pole axe in his hand, Maigo rotated his body towards the ground and removed the blade from the ground afterwards, spinning it around and holding it outwards. With his right hand, he would quickly reach to his chest and pull out the other arrow, more blood spilling outwards.

"That's mine-" the bandit who formerly held the pole axe began to speak but Maigo rotated his feet quickly along with wrists and took the top edge of the axe across his face, splitting his cheeks open and severing his tongue, the spike pushed him away and knocked him down after striking against the side of his face and head. With a quick step upwards, Maigo held the pole axe over his head, with the spike faced downward, and jumped over the bandit, driving the spike through his neck and pushing it completely through and sticking it into the ground. The sound of blood gurgling from his throat came up and the sanguine followed suit, but Maigo had no time to pay attention to the sound of his death, pulling the pole axe upwards from the ground he turned it back and pointed it towards the one with nun chucks as he charge in again.

Maigo stepped back, keeping the spear end ahead of him, using it to keep his distance from his attacker, short jabs with the spike as he stepped around and tried to close the gap with his nun chucks. Occasionally, Maigo would be forced to move even further, jumping up slightly or rotating or a quick step backwards or forwards to dodge the arrows from various bows and crossbows he would hear whirring near him and find in the peripherals of his vision. Using the wood to swipe and knock away Maigo's axe, he closed the distance and forced Maigo to dodge in an awkward position. His back bent, his balance was completely off and the axe sat uncomfortably forward in the whole of his position. He gave up on trying to save himself and let himself fall, another arrow whizzed past him and his back hit the ground with a thud that shocked through his body.

The weapon in his hand and still held above him, Maigo curled his legs and laid into his lower back, throwing his knees to his chest and his feet past his head he rolled over his back and aimed to land to his feet and spring back into action quickly. His eyes would trace over everything as the horizon flipped in his view, still marking the tray of enemies in his path and approaching him. First was the man with the nunchucks still encroaching on him even after his rebalancing act, Maigo's arms lingered with the weapon and dragged it behind him as he got to his feet. The man with nun chucks was already three steps away from Maigo and another combo attack to place upon Maigo, more fractured bones and heavy welts and bruises to add to his collection.

With a turn of his elbows, Maigo drew the blade back towards his body, the axe coming to his right and his right leg shifting backwards and sliding across the ground. With a heavy stance, Maigo turned the axe and dug in his left knee, swinging heavily he aimed right across the chest of the monk with equal reaction time. The nun chucks chain caught the axe blade and bent under it, Maigo kept pushing, the momentum of his hand hitting it and the monk using the second nun chuck to block it even further. But Maigo's strength was greater, as the chains bent and the axe kept moving and tore the wooden sticks from his hands as they wrapped around the axe.

Letting the axe fly from his hand he let it drag the nun chucks away and released it arbitrarily off the side near a group of the random banits that lined the outskirts but no distinction as Maigo was now locked in combat fist fighting with the monk who was equally trained but along with him closed the gap a man with razor teeth and two trench knives. Another arrow clipped the outside of Maigo's shoulder and drew more blood, the barb tearing just past the skin before trailing off behind him and a few exchanged punches and blows. The trench knives came close, first near Maigo's clavicle just above it and the second cut moving across his chest.

But that wasn't enough, Maigo jumped back and cleared distance, kicking one bandit who go too close off, he hardly saw the foot coming before drawing out a kunai from his pouch and readying it in reverse grip in his right hand. Meeting the trench knives on, Maigo deflected two and found an opening, kicking him back a few feet as the monk stepped forwards. His hands struck fast and hard, catching Maigo's wrist with his wrist but standing ready, he stepped in and made another move, punching Maigo in the stomach and knocking the contents of his stomach around within him. It was enough though, Maigo heaved forward lightly and his grip loosened just a touch before he realized what was happening, the monk moving in high over him, aiming to deliver another blow to the top of his head with enough strength to send him out cold. It was a small act of panicked resistance that led him forward, quickly bending his knees and setting his back, Maigo brought his hands up with kunai in tow and dug his shoulder into the chest of the monk and drove him forwards.

His reach around to his back to hug him and his legs driving him, he only had to push him off for a few feet before he would lose his balance. Maigo's hands would unfold from his back and let him hit the ground squarely as Maigo took the position over the top of him, bring his kunai up before the monk could gather himself. The monk crossed his arms over him, trying to keep distance between himself but Maigo knew better. Falling on top of him and with his left arm, he put pressure on the monk's arms and with his right hand, to flip the kunai around and point it towards him, leaning forward again just a bit and driving the kunai right into his ear, pushing as far as the steel would go and listening to his gargled moves and panic as Maigo used his body and other arm to try and restrain him and hold him down.

He felt the brain matter or some soft tissue and tried to stir at it to end the man's life quickly but it didn't matter, after a few moments the other one with trench knives approached up behind Maigo and kicked him off the monk, a final bit to try and save the life of his fellow criminal but Maigo wouldn't allow it. As the kick came in he would dig the kunai down and pull, leaving another huge gash down behind his ear and then falling away from the monk at the force of the kick.

Landing to his back, Maigo looked up, reeling a bit as the man with trench knives jumped over him and snarled with his new prey. Maigo's eyes reflected over him, watching his trench knives cross and start to press down towards him. Maigo brought both his arms up quickly and used the kunai to jam at the blades, the blood still on it dripping down towards Maigo as he braced against the blow, squirming about underneath the bandit. With a quickly brought up his left leg, sliding it underneath him he kicked at the knee of the bandit and drove him backwards, letting his weight shift forwards and onto Maigo's arms. In the same motion, Maigo tilted his head, bringing it out of the way and shifted his shoulders as he withdrew his kunai in his right hand and used his left hand to force the bandit to stab the ground next to his throat and save his life by inches at best.

With the trench knives in the ground, Maigo reached his kunai around and pressed it into the soft tissue of his neck, the bandit shocked himself once upon contact, feeling the blade tear into him. He hit that shock and stayed there so as Maigo pulled it out again and again and stabbed him repeatedly in the neck, letting blood splatter out and around him, over his hand and everywhere in the vicinity, his face remained in that initial shock before falling limp a moment later and his body losing its light.

Maigo breathed heavily, exhausted as he used his arms and shoved the body off the top of him, blood had splattered and spilled everywhere, it gave a gruesome sight to behold alongside Maigo's new mangekyou sharingan. Laboring up to his feet, he pressed from his knees but stumbled forwards, things were quiet in that moment, everything else had faded out in a weird static of sound and fog of his vision past his immediate hands. He stumbled forwards and fell to his hands, having limped all the way through to his position, his eyes wandered up from the ground to just in front of him, the monk was moaning and crying out and nearly bleeding. Maigo grunted and reached forward, the kunai in hand he stuck it quickly into the neck of the monk and left it, dropping the kunai from his hand and holding his hand down.

More labored breathing, the woman with the crossbow dropped down, Maigo body was throbbing in pain and he could hardly stand. Three more women with different weapons in different colors quickly took up position behind the shooter. Maigo leaned back to his knees and looked around, his sharingan taking in everything he could and his mind circling around the scene as he began to think it through. The woman laughed a bit, "Those eyes really help you and Kazuya, they must be very powerful... maybe I should claim them as my own..." she laughed defiantly and drew back another arrow, Maigo's head fell down and his eyes focused on her intently. He labored another grunt as he pressed a leg off the ground, focused on just getting to his feet, the pain from the arrow in his leg spiked, he almost fell but held on with his resolve high. His eyes focused in on the remainder of the grunts that were left, round two awaiting him and even more anger to take out upon the world in a vengeful fire of his own rage.

Alwen Sangotatsu

Alwen Sangotatsu

D-rank
Alwen watched through hazy eyes and blurred vision as Maigo stood up from whatever position it was that he was in. She still knew not what it was, nor why, he had opted to kneel down. This was a conflict, and in all honesty, it was an intense one. Perhaps he didn’t feel it was so, but, between the flames that flickered all around, the stench of iron and spilled flesh, the corpses that littered the ground. She was only sixteen. She was only a chuunin. It all felt too much. Far too much. Still, if Maigo was continuing to fight…

She shook her head, coughing up for a moment as she regained her bearings. She didn’t become a shinobi to die, at least not like this. The villagers that had fled. She had to clear up business here and rejoin with them, to ensure they were still alive. Still safe. Stumbling to her feet, she used one of the scorched wall surfaces behind her as a way to steady herself, gazing around. The amber of her eyes was dull, the light nearly extinguished within. She felt everything burn, and hurt, and twinge, and sting. But she couldn't die just yet. Not yet. Not yet.

Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop.

The sound she had for so long associated with the oncoming rain now haunted her, as slowly blood dripped down her leg and hit the broken cobbles below. She took out her kunai from the pouch at her side, carefully and slowly with shaky hands putting the blade to her right arm sleeve, cutting the sleeve from her so that it would pull away from the shoulder. Biting her lip to supress the pain a little, she stretched out the sleeve, before wrapping it tight around the bloodied wound, acting as a way to supress the bleeding. At least this way she wouldn’t bleed out. Still, it wouldn’t stop how much the wound would prevent her from running, or fighting completely efficiently. That was just something she’d have to make do with, and rely on her dwindling chakra reserves. If she could fight without the enemy getting close to her, then the fight would be hers. Hopefully.

At the thought, however, a sudden crash brought her back to reality, a large individual with an equally large hammer smashing down a door. Blood stained both the hammer, their clothes, and their skin, creating what to Alwen was an absolutely terrifying sight to behold. The grimace upon his face only further emphasised the fear, a grim look of determination as his eyes locked with Alwen’s for a moment. For that brief moment, Alwen felt her fight, her resolve, weaken. The child was all too reminded about the fragility of life, the grim reaper knocking at her door for a brief moment. She took a quick look around, as if trying to think of any way she could delay the oncoming, and keep herself safe for a bit longer. Broken tiles, broken weapons, and a shattered door. The man took a single step forward, Alwen’s eyes shooting wide open as the resolve and fight dragged her back to reality.

She formed the Dragon hand seal.

The man took another step forward, cackling menacingly as he prepared his hammer, footsteps heavy and each holding a weight of their own. Meanwhile in the distance, little known to the girl at this point, her partner on this mission, Maigo Mugetsu, was fighting multiple bandits at once, swinging the blade of the deceased bandit leader around, slicing through bandits, and taking their own weapons to fight against them, corpses gradually piling up, an awakened Uchiha in the zone of conflict.

She formed the Rat hand seal.

Once more, the man began to continue his approach, shoulders rolling as he was now but a few precious moments away from Alwen, a sharp, predatory grin spreading across his lips, oblivious in his blood lust of the increasing number of seals, or even the hand signs at all, that the girl he was preparing to kill formed. So lost in bloodlust, even the details that were oddities, such as horns, were beyond his knowledge. Only death, and further bloodshed, crushed beneath his hammer, which was all he saw.

She formed the Horse hand seal.

The man was now before the dragon child, hammer raised above his head in a slow, weighty motion. His movements were slow, the heavy hammer clearly proving itself to be of an extreme amount of weight, far beyond anything Alwen could carry, as the bandit moved to unleash a head cracking strike upon the injured shinobi.

Finally, she formed the Tiger hand seal.

After weaving the four signs with shaking hands, Alwen sprang to life, pressing herself back against the wall as broken shards of tiling and weapons suddenly sprang in to a life of their own, rising above the ground for a split second, spinning rapidly, before shooting themselves into the man from all angles. Ten pieces of shrapnel pierced into him, the man stumbling backwards. Still, Alwen couldn’t afford to just daze him from that singular strike, gathering chakra in her throat as she prepared to continue taking this brief amount of initiative she held. She moved her left hand in front of her mouth, before unleashing the chakra she had built up, a torrent of water erupting forth and into the stumbling bandit, who began to go shooting backwards to the broken doorway of which he had originally come. With a crash, his back connected with the wall. While that alone would not have been enough to end it, the shrapnel in his back made sure of it, pushing further into his spine and causing the man to simply collapse forwards, not fighting or threatening Alwen anymore.

Still, as this fight had resolved, another quickly took its place before Alwen could think about it, a vice like grip grabbing her by the collar and lifting her up off the ground in an instant, off balance and tipped forward. Gasping and nearly gagging at the sudden yank, Alwen was soon turned to face the next bandit. A grizzly man with an eye patch, and the sort of facial hair that implied he only shaved with knives. Eyes with weighted bags beneath them glared at her as he held her close, whispering through a cruel, almost serpent like tongue. “You know, horns aren’t a common thing… Think they would sell well on the market? Or, perhaps as a whole pack-

Before he could continue his threat and mocking, Alwen thrust her head forward, resulting in a loud crack as her already chipped horn cracked and snapped off on the man’s head, Alwen screaming out in pain as the horn completely severed, dropping to the ground. His grip on Alwen ceased as his hands moved to clutch at his head, Alwen stumbling backwards as she stuttered and stepped backwards, away from the bandit. Blood trailing down his head, the man shouted out in pain and anger, stepping forward to grab at her again while shouting. “You little bitch!

No longer caught off guard, however, Alwen gathered lightning within her finger tips, unleashing a stream of electricity point blank into the attacker. His body convulsed, and he stumbled backwards, recoiling a second time as the shock forced its way throughout his body, burns apparent on his chest through the burnt hole in his shirt. From there, Alwen thrust forward, aiming her kunai into the point where the burn had softened the flesh, striking and pushing her blade so that it connected and forced its way inside. Blood sputtered, and Alwen simply pushed, striking her palm against the kunai multiple times as tears streamed down her face. Allowing the shock to finally end, she then left the kunai there, before stumbling to the wall where she had been before. She had to hide, the noise causing her to fear others would come for her. She looked around, before concluding the place for her to hide and wait – a place she could quickly spring from should she need. After all…

She looked to Maigo through blurred amber, and all thoughts of hiding and recovering went out the window, replaced with concern for her team mate. A sense of unity flooded through her in a weird way, watching in a pseudo slow motion as an arrow flew through the air, connecting with the mist jounin’s leg. She winced in pain, feeling the stinging within her own leg gain intensity once more. She cursed herself for not thinking about the danger Maigo himself could have been in, shaking her head. She moved, back to where the last bandit she had fought was, and carefully, ever so slowly leaning down to where she had head butted him. Slowly, she knelt upon her good leg, picking up the shattered part of her horn, a throbbing sensation through her head. The kunai would probably not be something she could get back, but, at the very least she could use the horn as a distraction.

The thought of using a part of her own body as a distraction upset her, but, there was little to be done about it, as the part of herself was no longer attached regardless. Groaning, with the nub of her horn in hand, she stood back up, the world spinning around her as she turned to face the fight that Maigo was still going through. By the time she had returned to the scene, many more bodies of bandits had gathered around the jounin, yet also the archer who had likely inflicted the wound showed her face, perhaps growing over confident. She knew not, nor cared.

Gathering as much energy within her body as possible, Alwen pushed forwards, throwing the horn with as much might and power that she could muster, aiming for the archer. While not perfect, the throw worked, the horn bonking the archer on the head, doing little more than a slight bump. From this position, Alwen stood, panting, and doing what she could to stay standing. How many more bandits were they? Already, dozens were dead. How many more had to keep coming? When would the end be? Thoughts of home, of a warm bed, of the water, of the sea. The reassurance of normality soothed the panicking Alwen, who now stood there frozen, injured, and open after doing an impromptu distraction for Maigo.
