1 Dissonant Whispers [Hi no Kuni to Mizu no Kuni] Tue Jul 11, 2017 10:17 pm

The briny scent invaded his olfactory senses the moment that he had the vast view that he had seen numerous times in the past. No matter how many times his ocean blue orbs had gazed upon the vast, endless sea of blue, the sight had always held something new and breathtaking. During the day or night, the ocean always remained a constant – always present, but never interfering. Though no longer did his eyes slightly brighten up at the sight of it, but rather remind him of his home and the memories that came along with it.
Kirigakure no Sato was the place he was that held those memories – all of his memories, in fact. No matter how Yuudai thought things out, whether in his mind or words to himself, returning to the Village Hidden in Mist was inevitable at one point in his life. The ocean that he stared out toward, specifically the direction his gaze was directed was in the direction of Kirigakure no Sato. Returning was inevitable for him, but when would be the best time for him to return to the village? Just thinking about the possibility of eventually going back home was a pleasantly distorted idea. For one, it was his home that he would returning to. Yet, it was also the place that held his ghosts, the place that housed the memories that constantly came back to him to remind him there was no way he could return to his past where everything was perfectly fine.
Reminders of his mother and prospective family still remained fresh, even after five years since those events, four years after the hyōton user had left the village, and all those haunting memories from the Seven Bells War remained. Spending a year in the village and isolating himself from various people hadn’t done anything to resolve his issues. Spending another four years away from the village and on his own hadn’t resolved any issues either. He had always been a logical mind, Yuudai always thinking things through before acting, yet those two specific decisions had been done on impulse. Over the past few days of traveling on his lonesome, like he had done for the past four years, he idly wondered what his future held, though he knew the answer.
There was a time to return and it was nearing.
Why wait for the inevitable, when he could do it now?
He had put enough thought into this, had four years to figure out something… anything, and the answer was far simpler than he imagined. Yuudai’s salvation would only come in the form of facing his issues head on, rather that running away from them until they evaporated completely. There was no process of evaporation, they would remain and stay that way.
With one booted fit skimming the top layer of water that rushed on to the beach, Yuudai’s eyes traveled up the coast to where he knew a fishing village lay. Getting a ferry to Kirigakure no Sato would be simple, he had the coin, and the constant trade between Hi no Kuni and Mizu no Kuni would provide the former swordsman of the mist with an opportunity to return to his homeland. Resigning himself to his own decision, one that he knew was the best for him to make, for he had to come to terms with the losses he experienced, he began to slowly make his way to the fishing village where he would find voyage to Mizu no Kuni and then by foot he would head towards Kirigakure no Sato. As for explaining his… absence from the village… well, that would come in due time.
