The sun sweltering, Oki sat at one of the many benches near to the main entrance and exit of Iwagakure no Sato. Clad in a white jacket, with black shorts, and black sandals, the large behemoth of a chuunin sat and waited, staring at a piece of paper in his hand with an olive gaze. It was a rather recently requested mission, so the speed of which it was assigned certainly gave it a sense of urgency. Still, Oki recalled being told that he was to take a genin on this mission, to help further them into the world of the shinobi in whatever minor way he could. A distress call was the mission in question, from a minor village within the nearby borders of the land of earth being attacked by a small group of bandits. He could certainly see the benefit of teaching a genin through real experience.

Stroking at his goatee, he simply waited at the bench. Supposedly, the person he had been assigned was rather new to the shinobi world, so he was expecting to have to carry his own weight. Still, he made sure to be prepared, his shinobi tools held safely within a pouch at his side. Perhaps what made him most feel prepared for the operation at hand, however, was the brown bear that laid down at his feet below the bench. Around both his and the bears neck was the forehead protector of the village of the stone, worn as if a collar. Putting the paper containing his mission details back into one of his jacket pockets, the large behemoth of a man stood up from his position on the bench, stretching out with a yawn. It wasn’t incredibly early in the morning, but that didn’t stop him from embracing his laziness, or at the very least his desire to be a lazy person. No amount of heat would stop him from being akin to a bear. After all, this was the bear duo of Iwagakure, Oki and Debu Kuma.

Time began to pass, and while he was early for the meeting period he was assigned, it didn’t stop the impatience. With a suddenness, Oki proceeded to stretch out his legs, as if preparing for an exercise routine. After this, he stretched out his arms, then his back, then back to his legs. This cycle repeated for a while as he waited for the person to arrive, one who he knew very little details about. Her name was Alexis, and she was from the Yamada family, but aside from this, he had no information. That was fine in his mind however, as to the chuunin, no amount of paperwork could tell about what a person was like. And with that, he went on to do some push ups, getting himself ready for when the genin arrived so that they could swiftly leave in a run for where they were to go. He didn’t really intend or wish to cause any delay in the operation, so, questions and introductions could be done on the way.

Alexis was told she was going on a mission today with a Chuunin rank ninja which was one higher and her own rank so it would be a good chance for her to learn from someone who had the skill and knowledge she might not have. She was reading a piece of paper that was in her hand, a mission that needed to be started today, but well it was better and doing nothing and her last mission didn't do much, each mission gets Alexis more known something that would help her become head of the clan one day. Something her and more so. Her father wished to happen.

She would be on her way to meet him, but unlike him being dressed in common clothes that were ready for battle. Alexis dressed more noble like. In the top part of her hair, it is tied in a bow using a gold long hairpin. She will be wearing a long, elaborate dress, which is her kimono, fashioned with many colors, being really fluffy. The colors that are shown on her dress is green, pink, white, black and red being really long. If her hands are straight down. The robes will cover her hands, with her having to push them up. Her kimono is more and just one dress, it's many items, put together. Finishing her outfit is a pair of black shoes. It could be a chance the bandits will go for her being a noble and all.

She would be walking but getting closer and closer but it was also getting really odd, he had a bear that was near him, as the man was doing push-ups? Did he use the Taijutsu style? Well, it didn't matter right away when she reached him, Alexis has shown manners which many could say was rare for someone that was new to the ninja world, as most Genin where overconfident people that wished to get stronger and just showing no manners at all. She bowed at him. "Hello sir, I am Yamada Alexis it's a pleasure to meet you." She would say getting back up, but her stance was still formal having her arms crossed, but under the opposite side of the sleeves, this is how many people of rank and power stand as it was a noble thing. He was unlike most teachers as she could see him still doing his push ups was he going to stop, so they could be on their way.

Alexis Clothes and the way she is standing:

As he continued his idea of “waiting”, Oki continued to do his press ups, before a shadow loomed over him, and the sounds of footsteps only emphasised the presence of someone else aside from himself. A voice spoke up, introducing herself as just the person he was waiting for. With a grin, Oki put pressure on his hands, before springing himself upright onto his feet in a surprisingly agile and grandiose way. Offering a rather toothy grin, he offered a rather simple thumbs up to the girl, beginning his own introduction. “Ah! Hello! I am Oki of the Kuma clan! Just the person I was waiting for! Come, no time to waste! We have a mission to get on with, and people to help!” he declared, voice booming with enthusiasm and a general lack of awareness to his noise. With that, he span on his heel, and walked out the gate, gesturing for her to follow, the bear that was with him getting up and plodding alongside.

“Ah, yes, this here is my companion, Debu, and he’ll be aiding us in this mission. We can discuss details on the way, so, let us just hurry! I won’t be slowing down if you need to stop, since this is an actual mission! Bandits are attacking one of the minor villages, specifically one that specialises in mining, and our job is to take care of them!” he declared, before taking off in a slow run, making sure to not run too fast for the genin to keep up with him. Alongside him, the bear companion that he ran with plodded along at a more relaxed pace, seemingly half asleep.

After the two had been on the move for a short while, Oki decided to speak up. Of course, this is assuming that the genin had come with, which if not, then, Oki would be talking to himself. “So, as the mission leader, I’ll be the one calling the orders. If I think it’s too dangerous, please rendezvous with Debu there so he can ensure you do not get harmed. Otherwise, that also means I’ll be the one making the plan. So! What can you do? Talent wise that is. I personally prefer the straightforward approach, but as you’re a genin, it’d probably be best to go with this with at least some tact…” he muttered to himself, before laughing loudly, footsteps heavy as he ran. If one thing was certainly obvious, it was that stealth was not something the behemoth was good at, his large size only emphasised by the booming of his voice, and the clatter of his feet to the ground.

It was no doubt he was the Taijutsu type unless he just wished to keep his body strong, but just by looking at him it was no doubt Alexis was not the first person to think this. He was nothing like how Alexis thought he was going to be giving a thumbs up with that grin he was kind and nice, but well let's just say it was no doubt he was a noble. But he was kind, so it wouldn't be any problems. He was really ready like he just drank some coffee. She would follow him moving fast, but Alexis did worry about one element that was odd here, people have dogs, cats, and even snakes as pets or even partners. But he had a bear with him? She could maybe understand as a summoning, but well why would he do that type of Jutsu here and now for no reason? Well, the best thing she could do was ask him.

But as she was about to ask, he would bring it up. "But don't you think it would be for the best to plan it out and talk first? And is that bear your friend or will it attack us?" She would say never been this close to one before worrying a little bit. She had to move faster now, why was he in so much of a rush? Ninja's needed to stay quiet and on their toes, but he was in too much of a rush here for them to do that. Alexis was wearing a long Kimono dress, but she could keep up with him at this speed even running, she wouldn't wear this if it stopped her from moving on missions, her father's code was to look graceful at all times.

He was going to make the plan that was a little odd, and worrying, but he had to be a Chunin for some reason, and you can't just be one because you have power, having a mind to be able to plan ahead, but if you had to look at him you would think what he said. The straightforward approach that said it all. "Yes, sir, I will follow your orders. I know how to use the Summoning Jutsu, but have not mastered it yet, but I mostly focus on Ninjutsu, using my three elements, Wind, Earth, and my Crystal style." She would keep going forward with him as they made it closer towards the bandits, but she would have to follow his lead.

“Friend? That bear is my best companion! Debu!” he declared with a laugh, continuing his pace and glancing behind him as the team mate he was with followed along. Still, she had certainly been wearing some… Interesting choices for combat gear, which he was expecting to be damaged due to the nature of mobility as a requirement for missions. But, if need be, she could learn that through this mission.

Next, she spoke up, declaring what she specialised in. Summoning, and a trio of elements? An interesting genin, for certain. Stroking at his goatee, a rough idea formed in Oki’s mind, one hand moving to stroke at Debu’s head, before moving back to his side as he continued to run. “Okay. The village is only a couple of minutes away. When we arrive, we are going to find out where the bandits are, and from there, we can go deal with them. I’ll take the front, and I would like you to stay back and attack from a range. Debu will stay back to protect you in case things get rough. He’s good at the whole safety thing, so, you can trust him. I want to avoid any casualties, either from the bandits, or from the civilians, so, try to avoid using any risky techniques. We go to disarm, defeat, and get our targets in custody. I won’t accept any exceptions.” He ordered, voice stern.

Regardless of whether or not she replied or spoke up, the trio arrived shortly. The village was as it seemed to be, a small little place with thatch rooves, and carts covered in coal dust scattered around. A pen contained a group of donkeys, and in general, it seemed to have a peaceful atmosphere. A peaceful, but tense at the same time, atmosphere. Window shutters were closed, and not a person roamed the streets, often peeking from inside their homes where it was safer. A singular sniff in the air was the only reaction the large bear chuunin made, before gesturing a hand forward. “We investigate. They have to be hiding for a reason, and if I were to guess, that reason is our targets. We move slowly and quietly, and when we see them, we take them out. Let’s go.”

A bear as a companion was that odd or was it just her? It could kill you and rip you a part, in a matter of seconds, so who knew that you could kind of have one as a pet or friend, if anything, by the looks of it, he thought of that bear the same way someone from the Inuzuka would look after their dog, well that is how she saw their relationship, at least a dog wouldn't kill you, but a bear could pretty much do so. Everyone in her family learns how to master the art of what they call graceful fighting. Fighting in class many could call it, be graceful and don't allow them to get in the way, well that is what her father taught her way back when she was only young.

He was stroking his goatee after learning about her elements, which was odd, she didn't think of anyone of higher level and her to be like this. She was thinking someone of the noble class, who was well like Sasuke, but take away the part about him wanting to kill everyone, so more like Itachi, but guess he was nothing like that at all. She listens to him finally starting to speak, after placing his hand on the bear. "I understand, sir, I will try not to use any Jutsu that could cause too much harm, but wouldn't it be better if the bear stayed with you?" She didn't wish to have a killer bear beside her, Alexis was a strong fighter, but being up close to a bear would change all that, maybe if she was far away from it. She could have a chance.

As they arrive it was odd this couldn't be the right place. It was peaceful, having an old western type of look. Well, maybe if they looked around, something would be found out. She would listen to her captain but had an idea, she could do. "Sir, if we go different ways couldn't we find them faster?" Alexis would say waiting for his reply. He was the captain after all.

As the genin gave her concerns, Oki listened, quiet in contemplation. He couldn’t quite understand where her concern was, but, he was willing to listen. Not to mention, she had a question regarding the speed of their investigation. Stroking his goatee as Oki does, he spoke, his words slow as he thought of how to word it mid speech. “The reason I believe Debu should be with you is that he specialises in defence. If you are in danger, Debu can make sure you’re safe, and inform me of any danger that might occur so I can shift my focus. Looking around would make sense separated, but, only if we knew what we are dealing with. We don’t. For all we know, this could have a large bandit problem, or a minor robbery issue. Anything in the single or double digits. While I’m sure it would be quicker, I’d prefer not to have any risk. We stick as a group, and patrol. I have a sensory technique, so, don’t worry about speed too much. Me and Debu will track down whatever targets we have.”

At that, he dropped down to all fours, chakra channelling to his nose as he began sniffing around, Debu making similar motions. There were various smells, all the sort he would expect to find within a village, yet that didn’t stop him from trying to figure out which was the correct scent to follow. Scents blurred, yet Oki was used to this enough to know what to look for. Rather than focusing on individual scents, he focused on the scents that seemed the travel the most, and seemed most clustered. A scent that seemed musty, and blood stained, moved back and forth between various buildings and down the road. This seemed the one to follow. Almost like just another animal, he moved forward, Debu noting that Oki had caught the scent and leaning its head back up, looking to the Yamada girl with a nod. Meanwhile, from the ground and while moving, Oki spoke. “Fairly fresh scent. It leads to the west of town, prepare yourself and we’ll keep going.”

Following the scent more, Oki eventually found himself sniffing against the door to a run down shop. Standing up, he looked around, taking a note of the place. An old blacksmith that had clearly seen better days, with a single window that had been smashed, glass littering near the ground. The doors lock was busted, and along the walls was the Kanji for “Blood” in red paint. Standing up, Oki rolled his shoulders, turning to Alexis with a finger to his lips. With a nod, he gestured to the door with his head, hopefully suggesting that this was the place successfully.

She was a Genin and this was a giant bear, who wouldn't think what is it doing here? Did he really walk around with him? Come on bears attack and kill, they do it all the time, it didn't take a genius to know this. "He's a bear, I don't think he knows how to inform anyone other and his own kind unless he can magically speak the same language as us." She would say questioning his ability to trust a bear, which could end up attacking Alexis More and the bandits. She didn't think his abilities were lacking, but what about common sense? Well, it didn't matter as she couldn't give orders out for this mission.

Okay, now this was just odd everything Alexis has learned about how to become stronger and more powerful is based on graceful arts and learning how to keep your form, but right now he and the bear was smelling the ground like two dogs? Was this just odd to her or everyone else, she just looked at them with a blank expression. She would see he was finished with this odd thing. "I am ready, sir." She would say, having her hands crossed under each sleeve of her kimono, ready to get out of this place and go onwards.

With that they when on their way to find the people, they were sent out to get. But right away he was sniffing something else this was just becoming really stupid is what she thought. "Sir, do you really have to smell everything?" She would say. She would follow him, as he told her to be quiet, but seeing that blood it met that someone was around this area. She really needed to be on her guard in this type of thing, but they were just simple bandits, what could they really do.

At her concerns, Oki simply laughed, and as they reached the destination Oki and Debu’s search lead to, he pressed his ear to the door. The muffled sound of individuals, talking, which Oki could only assume was the target. If he was wrong, then, he’d apologise profusely for what he was about to do. Standing up straight, he smirked, turning to his bear companion as he cracked his knuckles. “Well, miss Alexis. I’m about to show to you the teamwork that proves you can trust and rely on Debu! Behold, the amazing bear duo of Iwagakure, Oki and Debu! Team attack!”

At this, Oki held open his arms, the bear companion jumping up to him. With a surprisingly swift motion, the bear man caught the animal by the hind legs, laughing with joy as he began to swing around, clearly having dropped the notion of stealth as he span around. And around. And upon the third loop around, the man let go, releasing his bear into the door, shouting out. “Kuma clan, secret technique! Bear fling!”

With a roar and a crash, the bear knocked the door over with both its momentum and weight, Oki quickly following after and standing in the doorway with his fists at the ready. Within the room, a total of five individuals stood: a woman in full black, a short man with a hunch to his posture, a tall, lithe woman that seemed to glare daggers, a piercing in her lip, a large, bulky man with more chin than the rest of his head, and another, surprisingly plain looking male, clad in head to toe in combat equipment. Each one of them held a kunai in hand, and after the noise he made outside, were clearly waiting for the arrival of those that kicked down the door. Grinning and stroking at his goatee, Oki spoke up, voice booming. “Well miss, it’s mission time! You there! You are under arrest! I advise you come quietly.”

Her concerns were not just simple, he was a bear walking around like a human? People have summoned animals or pet dogs from the leaf, but that was a bear, did he not understand this? Well, it did matter, but she wouldn't get anywhere just saying the same thing over and over, it was time to move onto something else. Hearing him laugh was enough to not ask any more about it. She was not one for teamwork but saying that to him, right now was not on her mind. She would just nod, having a blank expression. She would also be able to hear people talking behind the wall, but unable to make out what it was. They could be the thugs they came to take down or just civilians.

Eh........ Is all she could think as the bear jumped into the man's arms, doing some type of dance, was this even a mission anymore, was this a nightmare, this man couldn't be a Chunin you need more and power for that title, but the ability to think and so far he has not proved to have that. Kama clan, secret technique! Bear fling............ That was not a Jutsu, it was just him having a fun time. "....." She would think now thinking this man to be a fool.

She was ready for her mission, but the way he entered was something that could have been done better, she would sigh following him this was getting harder because of his quick no thinking ideas. "Yes, sir." As he said a line out of a movie, she would cross her hands together on the opposite side of the sleeve of her kimono. "Sir, I don't think they will listen." The bandits that all look like they come from different backgrounds, when on the attack, even using swords or jutsu, it didn't matter the moment one of them try to go forward to launch their attacks, Alexis started to perform one hand sign after the other.

As she would say with calm, soft words facing them all in a way that her jutsu would be able to hit all her targets, but dodging was still a choice. "Earth Release: Earth Flow River." The ground under them would start to change into mud that shoots out in a straight line. The user forms the related hand seal, turning the ground beneath the target's feet within the jutsu's range into a massive river of mud (3 meters wide) that throws them off balance and drags them 5 meters away from the user. This costs 10 chakras.
