Nayoko

Nayoko

D-rank
OOC:
Mission Details:
After his recent success with his first A-Rank mission ever attempted, Nayoko was feeling pretty good about himself. He had retrieved a number of valuable scrolls from the great fallen city and had been rewarded accordingly. On top of the growth of his own confidence, the confidence that the Village Hidden in the Mist had for the young Konoha shinobi had grown as well. This new found appreciation from the village had prompted the administration to send for him specifically when a new danger emerged in the village. And so he stood in another one of the administration building’s small briefing rooms, waiting for his handler to enter and explain what exactly the young man would be facing in his new mission.

He did not have to wait long. After sitting for a mere two minutes the door to the small room open and a young woman stepped in holding a simpe scroll, sealed with a clasp with a very clear “A” written on it. Yet another dangerous mission…not that I’m surprised, the Hattori thought to himself. As the woman reached out and handed him the scroll, Nayoko recognized her as the same woman who had briefed him on his last mission. Smiling, he decided to try to see if she remembered him. “So, here we are again! How have things been since out last meeting?” Though he had been hoping for a similarily kind response, he was instead met by the cold glare of a woman who was not in the mood for any semblance of small talk. “Listen man, any other day and I would be happy to chat. But today, we already have six civilians injured and two shinobi dead, and we need to keep our village safe.” His smile immediately fell away, leaving the twenty two year old’s face as a picture of stone cold severity. When he spoke again his tone was even and calm, not because he wanted to tread carefully with the woman, but because he had realized just how serious the situation was. This was not like last time, where only ninjas were dying in the line of duty. People were getting hurt and even killed. There was no time for games. “I’m sorry ma’am. I completely agree. Let’s get started.”

Opening the scroll, Nayoko laid out the briefing before him while the woman explained what he would be facing, trying to take in as much information as possible from both sources. “The mission today is to kill three people. As simple as that sounds, it will be much easier said than done. Your targets are Shuichi Hinode, age nineteen, Shuji Hinode, age seventeen, and Miyako Hinode, age sixteen. Do not let their youth fool you. These three siblings are highly trained killers, and they have been showing that prowess very clearly as of late. They’ve been assaulting anyone who has entered the Nukenin Graveyard right away, not leaving any room for people to call for help or attempt to defend themselves.” The woman sighed for a moment before stepping over to the table and pointing to an image on the scroll. “Their first step is for then to set their two wolves on the ‘intruders’ which is usually far more than any civilian can handle. But in the case of the shinobi, well once they realize that their pooches are in trouble, the actual targets hop into the fray, killing anything that would stop them. It’s gruesome, but its what they do. You should have no trouble locating them, since the moment you enter the graveyard they’ll have their dogs on you. After that…well you’ll just have to kill them. Oh and Nayoko,” the woman paused again, pointing to another section of the scroll. “They have to be killed. No half jobs here, only all the way ones. These guys have some crazy regenerative abilities, and so you can’t risk letting them heal, even the slightest. Am I understood?”

Nayoko wasted no time, rolling up the scroll and attaching it to his belt right away, nodding as he did so. “Completely ma’am. Don’t worry; I will make sure that this trio and their pets don’t harm anyone else, not today, not ever.” With that, the young Hattori stood and made his way out of the room, striding with purpose through the corridors of the administration building until he finally breached the exit. He paused briefly, taking into account where the map on his scroll had pointed him to before turning toward the city gates and dashing through them toward the Nukenin Graveyard. The journey was not a very long one, and even with Nayoko not using his full speed in order to conserve his energy for the coming battle, the travel only took him around three quarters of an hour. Stopping his sprint, he waiting outside of the graveyard’s perimeter for a moment, waiting, watching, and listening for any sign of his targets. When none came, he inhaled deeply, readying his chakra for the coming fight and preparing himself for the worst. Crossing the threshold, he all\owed that breath to leave his lungs and glanced around again, waiting for the inevitable attack.

Once again, the young man did not have to wait long. He had only been standing there for less than five minutes when he heard the rusting of movement coming form the nearby bushes, and the growling of wolves approaching at a disconcerting pace. Dropping into a stance, he prepared defensively for the oncoming attack, which was shown to him only moments later. Bursting forth from the nearby brush, Nayoko came face to face with a pair of wolves, anger and hunger in their eyes that could only be taught by a hate filled master, rather than learned naturally. They were approaching him pretty quickly, but Nayoko held his ground, watching or the opening that he would need to attack. All through this he kept his breaths even and deep, harkening back to his lessons with the Mizukage about remaining calm in the face of adversity, and the training from his first Karate teachers, about calming yourself to the point of being able to sense an incoming attack. Closing his eyes for just a brief moment, he allowed that peace to flow through him before he whispered the most cliché phrase imaginable to himself with a small smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

“Let’s do this.”

Nayoko’s eyes opened just as the wolves were entering attacking range. The well trained combat pets were working in unison, showing off the meticulous training that they must have gone through in order to be so effective at attacking people. As soon as they were within three metres, one of the wolves jumped, pouncing for Nayoko’s chest while the other stayed on the ground, lunging out at the shinobi’s legs. They were fast alright, but Nayoko was faster. As if in slow motion Nayoko twisted at the last moment while also leaning backwards to allow the airborne wolf to pass over him and leaving the one on the ground slashing at nothing but air. As the wolf in the air passed over him, the Hattori reached up and grabbed the front ankle of it, pulling it down hard to that the wolf smashed down onto the ground in its back while the other one had ended up running past Nayoko in it’s unbridled haste. While holding the one wolf pinned onto the ground with his right hand, Nayoko weaved a series of one handed hand seals with his left, forming exactly one thousand perfect needles of water, all shaped like the senbon that he kept in his pouch. As they hung in the air for precisely two seconds, Nayoko took the time to strike the beast directly in its throat, leaving it wheezing before jumping straight up and allowing the needles to do their work.

The jutsu riddled the wolf’s body with piercing cuts, and Nayoko nodded from his position in the air as he watched the dog go limp. Not wanting to allow for a response, he pulled out his six senbon and tossed them directly for the remaining wolf, creating a gale force from his palms in order to increase their speed and allow them to hit their mark. The living wolf jumped back and whimpered in pain, but it was not enough to kill this one. Rolling as he landed, Nayoko continued his rush towards the creature as it did the same, charging Nayoko before leaping onto the air just as the other one had. It was a fatl mistake for the beast as the Hattori sidestepped the jump, gripping the beast’s rear legs with one hand and snapping it with the other. He then yanked on that broken leg, slamming the wolf into the earth belly down and following up with a heel drop to its spine. Nayoko could hear the tell tale crunch of the bone snapping, as well as the feeling of a severed spinal column under the force of his kick.

“Noooo!!!” The male scream from behind Nayoko was almost immediate, and spinning around the special jounin managed to catch three shuriken in his chest. The piercing wounds certainly hurt, but Nayoko hand no time to dwell on that as he pulled the ninja tools from his body hastily and looked up to see who had come to protest the death of the wolves. Standing behind him were three figures; two young men and one young women. Without asking, Nayoko was aware right away of who he was facing. “You monster! You killed our wolves!” The male with longer black hair shouted out angrily to Nayoko, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. As kind hearted as the Hattori usually was, he had no sympathy for the trio before him. They were killing shinobi and hurting civilians without rhyme nor reason, and they had to be stopped. “You have no right to call me a monster after all of the carnage you’ve caused. Now either give up peacefully or I will be forced to kill you.” As he finished he dropped back into his stance, preparing for the attack that he knew would come. The one with shorter hair reached out to put a hand on his shoulder, perhaps to warn him of the danger that he was facing. But he never got the chance.

“Got to hell!” the long haired man yelled, charging forward as he drew his katana from its sheathe. “No Shuichi! Get back!” Nayoko heard the shout from the girl, but at that point it was too late for the attacker. As soon as he was within rage to attack Nayoko, the berserker pulled back with two hands and swung his katana for Nayoko’s head. As it came for him, Nayoko allowed his keens to buckle, dropping below the blade and then reaching out with his left hand to grab the wrist of the criminal. Following up with his right hand he struck out that the man’s exposed elbow, shattering it with his fist and causing his grip on the blade to be released as he screamed out in pain. Though this would have ended the fight against most other targets, Nayoko remembered the briefing; they had to die. With the grip on the katana loosened, Nayoko released his hold on the man’s wrist and slid his hand down to grip the hilt of the blade. Using his far superior strength, he tore it from the attacker’s other hand while spinning off of and around his body. The blade still in hand in a reverse grip, he allowed the spin to continue all the way around until Nayoko was standing behind the man, the hilt of the katana in his hand while the blade of it was through the back of attacker’s throat. Releasing the hilt, Nayoko allowed the corpse to fall to the earth below, dead before he even hit the ground. He then quickly formed a combination of hand seals, allowing fuuton chakra to reach the tips of his fingers in his right hand and create a blade of wind. Lifting his eyes back to the other two, he could not help but have the smirk creep back onto his face once again. “Who’s next?”

With their brother slain before them, the other two murderers charged forward with a vengeance burning in them. The girl was clearly much faster than both of her brothers, though Nayoko was faster still. Even so, with both of his attackers’ katanas flashing around him, Nayoko knew he would not get through as easily as before. The one thing on hi side was the fact that even as they stood close to him, the wind whipping off of his blade caused their clothes to shred and half inch cuts to open up all over their bodies. Unfortunately, the same could be said for Nayoko as he began to grow tired from the continued fight and was unable to block each and every attack effectively. Even so, the toll of the continued injuries became clear quite soon after he started waning in speed, as he young man went for a sloppy slash at Nayoko’s head. It was the last mistake he would make. Nayoko easily dicked under the slash and followed up with and upward slice across the man;s chest, opening up a would that went right into his bone. Knwing this would not kill him, Nayoko took advantage of the stunned man and swung with the full force of two hands at his neck, the blade of wind severing his head and sending the head soaring off of the rest of the body.

“Damn you!” The shout came out from behind him, as he had left his back exposed. Cursing to himself Nayoko allowed the blade of wind to disperse as he spun around and listed his hands for the impending attack. As he did so, he channeled his clan; willpower into the surface of his body, calling upon the Heart of Iron to defend him. Of course, it did not fail him, as the katana swing around to Nayoko he simply caught it in his raised hands, much to the astonishment of the wielder. She was shocked by the turn of events, and not wanting to give her the chance to recover, Nayoko stepped into her and drove his elbow into her nose, sending her reeling backwards. Pressing his assault, he unleashed a Leaf Strong Whirlwind at her sending her sprawling back onto the ground, her defenses down as she laid on the ground, broken and bloody from the kick she had received.

“You’ve taken your last victim,” he said as he picked up her sword before stomping onto her throat. From there it was over; he drove the girl’s blade through her own skull, killing her instantly and leaving Nayoko trembling. Releasing the hilt, he stepped back and fell to his knees for a moment to catch his breath. That’s the last of them…thank goodness, he thought to himself as he sat there, realizing how high his body count was getting. It was an unbidden and unsettling thought, but Nayoko knew that the deaths were necessary. After all, it was either them, or more innocents…
