Patrol:

After his successful discovering of the bandit's camp deep in the desert Noel was allowed to undertake another patrol mission as he got ready putting on his new shirt as well as reading the details before heading to the border wall as he finally reached the gate meeting up with the previous shift which had two nice guys as he wondered why there was two of them as the one sighed. They were bothered by the fact that a small boy was being sent to do patrol duty, even as a shinobi he was still a child as the one guy came over to the small boy and handed him a small scroll and gave him some weird mark to put on his shirt.

"This mark will let the guards know you are on patrol duty here, and this scroll is for emergencies if you find anyone suspicious use this. If you have any questions use these wireless radios got that kid. Keep safe and whatever you do, do not try to deal with suspicious people by yourself, that is for the higher ups got that. Stay alive and do not get yourself into any trouble." As the nice guy grinned before walking away as his back turned to the small boy he felt a dark sadness as he wondered what happened to all the older shinobi before, why were all these kids becoming shinobi lately is what the man thought.

Noel looked to the other one who then moved closer and re-adjusted the wireless radio since it seemed to slip off Noel's head completely when he put it on. He adjusted it carefully as Noel just behaved politely and did not move at all while the guy was busy. "Okay, your name is Noel, well do not worry about that now if there are emergencies that scroll is just a back up, but to be safe just tap the radio and make three quick breathes on it and I will come quickly with back and as for that scroll its used for identification purposes as well as a recording of the results of the patrol so keep it on you. Do not ask me how it works I am a shinobi not a bookworm. Anyways the patrol should be safe, but just in case let me know. I guard the other side of the gate for when people go out you will be guarding for people going in, do not worry though I will be close got that?"

The young Noel nodded as he put the scroll carefully rolled open the scroll noticing it had some sealing marks and the paper itself seemed different which meant what ever they sent into the village was being recorded as well.

The duty began as Noel patiently stood by the gate, the mission directors actually gave him one of the more unused gates, though that made it less work it also made it dangerous at times. Either way it was time for Noel to begin his gate duty as he stood there for close to an hour as his legs began feeling tired as no one had come passed yet.

After about two more hours he was really getting tired and they were rotating out in four to eight hour shifts usually to ensure proper sleep since the gate duty could get boring and also since it required one to maintain their concentration. He kept a sharp vigil and just when he thought nothing would happen someone came to the front gate to greet him, the guy pulled up some papers stating he was here for construction and it gave his name, occupation and not much else. He was not sure as the man stood there, he was not sure but just seeing the man was in shabby robes made him feel suspicious. He smiled and allowed the man passed the gate, then using his wireless radio.

"Some weird guy in a bunch of robes came passed saying he was here for construction" as he held the scroll on him just in case the guy heard him and turned back as he looked on keep a close eye on everything. A team of shinobi seemed to appear from out of nowhere as they had the man lift the hood as the man was a lot younger then he should be. The man made a strange noise with his teeth as he turned his head and glared at the little boy who ratted him out. "Damn smart ass kids, I hope next time you get..." as the guy was silenced and taken away to be dealt with by proper authorities as the shinobi vanished.

Noel was a bit shocked as well as confused, but mainly he could not believe shinobi could move so fast as the one who was working with him on the other end came and patted Noel on the head and ruffled his hair a bit. "Good Job Noel" as the guy nudged Noel back to his post and then returned back to his on the other end. He began to wonder if the reason this patrol duty was only of C-rank was because they had stronger shinobi standing guard patrolling as well, or if it was because the mission just required you to stand and let people in, while mentioning anyone that may or may not be suspicious as he realised the documents looked rather authentic to him, though the man looked to young to match his apparent age which stated him to be around forty when he looked more like twenty.

Noel was also a bit nervous which is why he did not ask the man to remove his hood, if the man did that it would have been less suspicious as basically no one else came to enter the village. As shinobi seemed to be leaving the village and those same shinobi would return to the gate like an hour later. After close to six hours of this patrol duty he began to wonder why no one even used this entrance to begin with after which his shift finally ended as he met his partner for the day who simply answered.

"This gate is too far from all the important places"

With that his mission was complete
