The desert was deadly for more than one reason. When most think of the desert, they think of the scorching heat to point it's unbearable, as well as the deadly creatures that lie within it's dunes. Tarantulas, scorpions, venomous snakes, even the plants themselves have thorns. However most people that have never experienced the night are surprised by the nights of the desert. Outside of summer, the nights of the desert could actually get below freezing, at least in certain areas. This was due to lack of clouds or moisture in the air, that prevents the desert from trapping the heat into the air and keeping the air warm through the night, making winter nights especially deadly. However, it wasn't winter, nor was it the middle of the night, but this was still relevant to what Nyx was doing, because even though it wasn't winter, and that the day had been hot, and the sun was only just setting means the desert was cooling, but it had been a hot enough day that the night would probably remain comfortable well into the morning. This is the reason Nyx was coming out into the dunes this late, instead of way earlier this morning like most of the other Shinobi had done. With the conditions, she imagined she could train quietly for hours on end, and without needing to worry about dying of heat stroke. Or at least, this was the plan.
The sun was only just setting as Nyx reached the edge of the village walls, and she had a bit longer after that till she would reach the depth of dunes she would want in order to train peacefully, but she didn't have any time to waste, and she wanted to get as soon as possible.
Nyx's walk was rather peaceful. There was the occasional scorpion, or something she could easily tell might be a rattle snake den, that she would steer well clear off, but outside of those minor hiccops there wasn't really anything all that interesting going on, that was until she stumbled upon him. Just as Nyx was about to crest a small dune she heard it. The sound of a yipping dog. She had heard wolves earlier, but she hadn't anticipated that they would be much of a threat, or that she would cross paths with them. However, this wasn't what she would have expected out of an encounter with them either, as they were clearly yipping in pain. Nyx peaked the crest slowly, and her eyes widened as the sight below her emerged. A man who only looked to be a few years older than her, and looked to be heated... no. Not heated... bloodthirsty. Nyx could sense his killing intent from here. Was taking on three wolves by himself, though only as she arrived was the fight just barely coming to a end.
Nyx stepped forward, drawing out a kunai and holding it reverse grip fashion, her headband glimmering around her neck, reflecting the last bit of sunlight as she slid down the hill. She would come to a sliding stop. Her face emotionless and cold. She was unamused, but wasn't displeased. "I would have offered to help," she said with a rather enthused voice. "However it appears you well had things covered." She would say casually glancing at the man. Her narrow eyes focusing on him. She wasn't noticeably being defensive, but this man had exhibited stranger behavior, and she wasn't entirely sure that he wasn't going to straight after her next, so she had her guard up in case that was the case. She would watch him. Waiting for a response. She had been clear that her intentions were that of an ally, and her Sunagakure headband shown clear around her neck, but his actions and intents were unclear. The ball was in his court.
