"One!"

One by one, a sea of wooden swords that were once held up high in the sky came crashing down on imaginary foes. A collective whoosh of the makeshift blades came coming down were in unison as a rather strong breeze filled Sanosuke's hair as he watched the students before him moved in accordance of his orders. With the strike, the chorus of grunts came from the lot of them that filled the dojo's walls. Even though he was sitting in on the class as a favor for a friend, the Raikage couldn't help but feel proud of the promising kenjutsu enthusiasts he was witnessing. It didn't feel too long ago that he himself was one of them crafting his own style to a fine polish so many years ago.

With the fifteenth strike done, Sanosuke looked at the eyes of the young swordsmen that were looking back at him waiting for their next task. The tiredness of their eyes were irrelevant as they wanted to prove they were the best to their nation's leader. With a smirk, Sanosuke cleared his throat. "Again...ONE!" Another chorus of strikes were then brought down once as per his orders.

Susumu had already realized from afar that something was going down here. It could be heard in the distance. Drawing closer, the swings of the wooden swords, cutting through the wind also became as clear as day. It looked like there was a training session in progress, though not at all Susumu’s expertise. “Kenjutsu training, huh? he thought to himself, eying the multiple wooden swords making the same motion over and over again. The one doing the shouting was obviously the one in charge, though not really a face he recognized. Then again, he has never been in this village before, so it’s not a shame not knowing its citizens. Though, judging by the man walks around the field, he’s no ordinary citizen. Susumu approached the man leading the group of young swordsmen and without making eye contact, just stood next to him, facing the group. “Army in training?” He briefly commented, examining the swordsmen’s form while swinging down the practice weapon, as well as technique.

He had zero experience while holding a sword, so even by watching them, it’s very unlikely to pick something up from just watching them swing the sword around. Maybe not now, but someday, it might come in handy. Just watching isn’t enough. Susumu needs to get used to the feel of a sword and use it for himself. The method they’re using, might just not prove useful to Susumu himself. His head finally turned to Sanosuke. “Why don’t you just pit them against someone, instead? Once they get used to being hit in multiple spots, over and over again, they would probably, out of instinct alone, automatically try to dodge it.” He spoke his mind, yet again. Although he just voiced his own opinion, it might just be an inexperienced one. It’s been a long time since he’s been in a fight, himself. The last time was against some other Uchiha, which he unfortunately lost. It just proved that he wasn’t there, by a long shot. His arrogance may lead him to an early grave, without even putting up much of a fight, but he’s not about to change his nature because it may lead to a rocky road. In fact, it’s giving it so much of a challenge that it’s actually more enjoyable. It’s undeniable. His excitement for battle is still there, but dormant. Because he hasn’t been in a fight for so long, he has almost forgotten the feeling. Watching these young swordsmen swing their wooden blades in a vertical motion, just the sound of it, made him get a little bit of a feeling for battle back.

With each swing of the symphony of wooden swords coming crashing down on the invisible enemies before it, Sanosuke paced in the front of the demonstration on each side. Only small comments were made to the kenjutsu enthusiasts who wanted an opprotunity to be taught under Sanosuke Flynt himself; those comments ranged from suggestions for a better strike to information about better stance placement. The students took the silver haired man's advice with vigor and dilgence as they tried to take account of the advice to adjust their mistake at once. Some were better than others but that was to be expected. The average age group of all of the students were floating around the fifteen age field, as they were rather novice kenjutsu users. Fortunate for them, the style being taught at the Akako Dojo was a style that Sanosuke himself learned and mastered when he was their age.

Being the brilliant sword genious he was even back then, Sanosuke had mastered the style when he was about their age. So for the silver haired man to come back to his old dojo and subsitute in for the instructor of the class, to the kids, was similar to having a rock star come in their class. Especially if that person is also the Raikage of their village.

A small voice speaking out a question entered the corner of Sanosuke's eardrum as he noticed a boy was at his side and matching his stride. A quick glance at him told Sanosuke that this boy wasn't here for the class as he didn't have any noticeable traits of him being a sword user. Maybe he was an onlooker? Either way it was fine, the boy was allowed to walk with him. Made no difference to him. "More like weapons being polished from a the forge I call a dojo. What they do with their ability as weapons, is up to them. I'm only here to draw out their talent to be as sharp as they can be. Wouldn't you say that's my responsibility as a blacksmith?" Sanosuke said to the boy, and asked a question this time so he can learn more about the boy himself.

From out of the corner of his eye, Sanosuke could see how the boy was eyeing the swordsmen honing their craft. A chuckle escaped his lips briefly as he could see looks of envy on some of the younger boys' faces as they saw how a kid their age was walking alongside Sanosuke himself. Perhaps they thought the boy walking beside him got that spot at Sanosuke's side for his abilities. If they used that jealousy as fuel to improve their skills, they can potentially be fantastic practitioners of the blade. The boy who was at Sanosule's side, from what he could gather, was giddy for excitement. Did seeing the students practice their drills stir up some fire in the boy's stomach? His anticipation could be felt even from Sanosuke and he didn't even need to sense his chakra to detect such a thing.

"Believe me, visual training is a rather effective method of training. With a strong enough mind and chakra system, you can replicate battle conditions inside your head and hone your skills without actually going into combat. See for yourself." Motioning his head to one student to the far left of the other students in the middle row, the both of them could see a young boy striking his bokken at his invisible enemy. If one looked closely enough, bruises could be seen on the boys body that wasn't there presently before the session started. "That is the results of advanced visual training. When your mind is linked to your training itself for invisible enemies, your chakra system will affect your body to match what is occurring in your simulation in your mind that is playing." With a nod, Sanosuke made a gesture to the boy who beamed back at his teacher with a face of tiredness but gratitude.

It wasn't long before the boy was back at work again with his training. "But you are right, visual training can only do so much without actual battle conditions where things could happen where you cannot predict them like in visual training. By the way kid, I never got your name. Mind sharing?" Sanosuke asked as he kept pacing with the boy at his side.

Susumu, who was never trained by someone himself, was a little naïve on the subject. It could very well be that his responsibilities is just to push them to use the most of their own ability, rather than plunging them head-first into battle, but Susumu’s ways may have proved to be a little different. Even though this crossed his mind, he nodded in response. “It could be that you’re right. Although, there are more than one correct way. I’m just saying, throwing them into a fight might just be another possibility, because it’s for survival. Your instinct just needs to kick in before you’re downed yourself.” His opinion seemed a little bit off to be that of some kid. It’s just that he had a completely different view on everything, due to his way of living out his life. There wasn’t anyone around that looked over his shoulder to see if he messed something up or succeeded in it. No one to scold him and tell him what’s wrong and what’s right. Everything that comes out of his mouth was something that he decided on himself, without someone brainwashing him. It was all just pure life experience, even though he’s only at the age of twelve.

It almost escaped his eyes, but the individual motioned his head over to one of the students. Fixating his sights on the one motioned at, it didn’t take long for him to take note of the bruises scattered across his body. It seemed that the training they endured must be tough, not only on the mind to keep focus, but on the body as well. It appears Susumu learns something new every day. “I’ve never trained in such a way, before. My mind develops in the heat of battle, as well as my body. This way of training may indeed develop the mind and the body in some way, but inside of their heads, they’re fighting a battle than they can easily win, stressfree. Throwing them into a battle will help them cope with that stress and in return, they’ll get a stronger mind, more difficult to break under pressure and lose their lives.” He stopped for a moment, eying each and every one of them. “With that in mind.. I wonder how long they’re gonna last in their first, real battle?” His vision moved back to Sanosuke. His tone made it sound a little cocky, asking that question to the one training them.

The man wanted to know his name. Coming to think of it, he just joined this training session without introducing himself, at all. What’s stranger is that the individual engaged in a conversation with someone that could bear some hostile intent, without even knowing what he’s up to beforehand. At least, he would’ve expected him to ask about his name before giving him a training lecture, although he might not be aware of it. “The name’s Uchiha Susumu.” He briefly introduced himself. There was no need for a lengthy introduction, because this wasn’t that much of a casual conversation. He wanted to find a specific person, thinking that he hadn’t found him yet. “Normally, it’d be more polite to introduce yourself, first. But considering I invited myself here, I don’t mind.” He mentioned, rubbing the back of his head.

As he walked paced back and forth inspecting the form of each of the young kenjutsu enthusiasts, Sanosuke couldn't help but chuckle at the young boys words. It was quite the cocky proclaimation. In fact one that this newcomer shoulder have said quietly as he could feel the frustration from the students he was observing. Grips on the wooden swords they were wielding grew tighter as they tried their best to retain their anger. He couldn't blame the kids either, who was this person to insult their resolve? When he answered, Sanosuke took a second to stop moving slightly. His eye went towards the boy to look at him more clearly. There was something, something about the boy that seemed familiar. He couldn't put his finger on it, but for some reason the hairs on the back of his neck was standing on edge. Just exactly who was this Susumu Uchiha person?

Gathering himself back together, Sanosuke nodded at the boy before Susumu had the chance to notice his hesitation. "Ah an Uchiha. No wonder you see their exercise as bland, with your sharingan eye of yours taking in real life combat is the best way for you to utilize your unique clan ability isn't it? Sanosuke inquired to the boy with his eyebrow raised. It was a fair assessment to make, after all the sharingan can be used to shorten one's training time by a significant amount should they use it in real life situation like combat. He wouldn't know if the boy would take offense to what he said but his students were all looking at the boy in the middle of their exercises to hear his answer.

"I'm sure you've sensed by now, my students have been eyeing you for the longest time since you've arrived." Sanosuke bringing to attention the elephant in the room; in this case it was a class of envious and insulted kenjutsu enthusiasts. At first the students were caught off guard that their substitute instructor would so blatantly say something like that without warning. But slowly but surely, they slowly accepted that it was now in the open. And now everyone had their eyes on Susumu with only one thing on their mind: crush the outsider and show this Uchiha what kenjutsu was really all about.
