Kicking his feet as he sat on the tree branch he felt at ease for once a day off with no random encounters or missions to do this was a good day indeed for him. Well he could only hope knowing his luck a messenger bird was on his way right now since he didn’t like to live in the village. But he did enjoy the beauty of nature way more than that of the busy streets behind the walls everything was simple out in the wilderness he had everything a person needed. The sky to give him a show at night as the stars shined brightly and the moon was there to shine and even brighter light on him. Or even the morning when the sky goes from black and full of stars to a dark blue color and then soon taken over by the bright pitch of orange tint oozing from the sun.

The animals kept him busy as he studied each one and their predators even the nocturnal beasts of the night had something they feared the snakes seemed to scurry off best when the owl came to out to play. It was amusing watching a creature sweep down plunging its claws into the body of the victim killing it swiftly and eating it there on the spot looking out to the horizon the sun was starting to set back down. Ready to go shed its warmth to the other villages and people waiting on the other side of the world so patiently waiting for the heat to be their greatest enjoyment. Thinking about it wouldn’t help anyone or anything he knew he had to go see the world and look at it with his own two eyes instead of listening to stories all day about how it is and the type of people that rest in the other villages.

That was his goal seeing the world for himself instead of being locked up in a village where the rules seem vague and strict he hardly knew anyone to have a decent conversation with or even train let alone eat with and enjoy each other’s company. In all honesty he knew he was alone no matter how many friends he made this time he had a chance to move on from the past and finally aim forward for the future that would surely make and be a difference in his life. In all his thinking he was correct like always he couldn’t ever enjoy a simple day in the village or probably in his whole life till he dies. Eventually he will find his freedom and peace when that day does come he’d most likely feel empty and bored due to the lack of stuff to do. Off in the distance as he watched the sun bathe the land with warmth and allowed nature to grow to officially become something of outstanding beauty.

“The peace is so wonde-”

And there it was his sentence cut short by the flying black creature once more heading towards his direction with a white attachement around it’s leg giving a sigh he only knew this meant another mission. But even if it wasn’t another mission probably a letter from another stranger wanting to meet up with him for some odd apparent reason the last stranger he met stabbed his arm. Even the past encounters themselves weren’t that pleasant but at least he never left with a scar but like the rest of his encounters he met someone new and knew that one day he would meet up with them once more either as allies or enemies each fighting for what they believe in and from their point of view they would only see a enemy.

Lifting his right arm up in the air as the bird came closer swooping down and landing on his arm giving him a chance to quickly swipe the white scroll from its possession and throw his arm in the air. Allowing the bird to catch air and fly off towards where ever its next resting zone was probably not too far in fact it was a forest a outpost was most likely used out and around the area for messenger birds after a long day of messaging. Opening up the tiny slip of paper that seemed to always contain a really impressive amount of writing he sometimes even wondered the person who has this type of writing skill must be getting paid more ryo than him especially for each piece written. He only focused back on the paper as his mind wandered off somewhere for a little bit he wondered if he ever would get a day off from training and missions just once in his life.

“Lets see..”

Reading the message it was nothing but the same mission one that grew on him but also allowed him to study each human being differently they all had one goal but individually the fear in their eyes told the story. Smugglers once more returned by now Burittsu should have gotten a medal for doing this mission in so many different times either by his lonesome or even with another partner that was paired up with him due to the orders from above. It all didn’t matter in the end they ran or began to beg for their life while the hands of Burittsu dripped with the blood of the victims. Either way people were going to die and the outcome would be same no matter the soul of the person they did decide to choose the path that was given to them no matter if it was to save a family member or their own personal greed.

Jumping off the branch falling lower into the tree line he swiftly landed on another tree branch that was farther below and quickly began to leap from branch to branch. With the determination in his eyes to simply get the mission started and ended quickly time was ticking if they were like the others by the time he found them they would already be in the forest. Ready to depart and heading off to wherever they would normally meet but he doubt under his watch the smugglers never made it through as for the other shinobi he couldn’t say the same for them. Thinking about it as he jumped from branch to branch by the time he even received his next promotion he would possibly have double digits in this mission alone. Well what could he say he did basically live out in the forest it was probably the best bet from higher-ups to use someone that is always out there taking in nature.

“The thrill of the hunt.. Such a rush.”

Leaping from branch to branch hours had passed since he received the message from the bird itself nothing was to be seen not even a trace of fire or smoke filled the air. Were the smugglers growing smarter or were they just up to something bigger and better than actually smuggling drugs could be people for once. He never stuck around to look into what they were bringing into the country he always left that to the others giving them some work to do at least entertaining them. Looking around he saw nothing no smugglers or anything only the animals of the forest looking at him with outstanding gazes as if they never seen a shinobi before well most likely they have they just ran from the beings. Probably to them Burittsu was the animal never to be seen before by the eyes of the creatures of the forest the thought of that was amusing in his head as he kept on leaping from branch to branch in the shadows.

Coming to a stop for a quick breath underneath the cool shade of the trees he looked down and around there hey were the fiends themselves out and about as if it was a normal relaxing day without a fear in their eyes. Relaxed as it seemed they expected to die any time any place this was rare but something seemed to be mistaken only two people. Could it be a trap impossible he thought but no crates so he could only wonder what were these two trying to smuggle into the country. Or probably out of the country at the same time by the tents two poles were seen embedded into the ground with two long chains connected to them now it was obvious they took someone probably more than one.

Rubbing his chin it was simple enough that these two were worst than the others who brought in weapons and drugs to mess up the land and destroy it from the inside out they have been reduced to taking actual human beings. Something that was needed to keep the land thriving even if the people were cruel and twisted in their own way they kept the land vivid allowing everyone to meet their own set of people and groups to feel safe. Standing up and quickly pushing off the branch into the light he lept into the air soaring above the two in a silence but his shadow on the other hand quickly dashing above them gave him away. Nearly scaring the life out of one of them and leaving the other in horror.

For now they were safe as Burittsu chose to ignore them heading towards the tents and quickly ripping them down and apart piece by piece as they fell on the ground until revealing the two innocent souls. Two little kunoichi from the village each with ripped up clothing and their headbands remaining on their foreheads their eyes were red probably due to all the crying they did. Burittsu was never a hero type but he knew when to do the right things and when to cross the line this was a matter of payback and pain that would indeed be dealt upon thieves. They would indeed receive the justice but as it seemed they were going to either keep these children or sell them off as slaves. Smiling at the two girls he only ensured them they were alright as he raised his hand giving them a thumbs up and confident look.

Reaching down grabbing both of their chains as he focused chakra into each palm of his hands fusing the ice with the metal causing it to become weaker as he quickly crushed it between his hands freeing the girls. But they did not run probably in more fear if they leave and one of the smugglers goes after them what would happen and that was something that Burittsu could not do standing straight up rubbing the heads of each girl as he faced the smugglers again. His facial expression cold and straight to the point they were now looking at death himself as his blue eyes poured into their soul and drowned them in a sea of pain and deaf silence. Their deaths would be swift but painful he made sure of that as he began to walk towards them slowly his hands began the transformation into the infamous ice claws he loved so dearly.

Words were not needed this very moment the actions could not be taken back he only felt sorry that the two had to watch him brutally murder two kidnappers but the money paid him good. It was enough to find food if needed and buy supplies other than that he might as well rent out his room to upcoming shinobi since he never used it. Quickly with a step forward he went from walking to a dash aiming at the smuggler on his left side quickly leaping towards him claws pointed at the male’s chest. Each claw was about three and half inches ready to pierce through his body and kill him with frostbite and loss of blood. It all happened in a quick amount of seconds the male was dead it seemed Burittsu had other plans instead of a hole in his chest. His head seemed like a better death with his arm fully though the skull of the smuggler he only grinned looking over at the other smuggler who was damn near ready to run for his life.

“Don’t you dare run.. Die like a man!”

Removing his arm through the smugglers head as the chunk of brain dripped off his left hand the claws on his right hand were ready to be fed and doused in the blood of the smuggler. Indeed he was surprised when the smuggler stood still as if he was frozen in place it seemed even he knew if he ran it would be a slower death probably that or the fear took over him and put him in this frozen like state. Well the only thing he could give to the man was that he would die like a man but burn in hell forever for committing such a crime as he drove his right hand through the male's back ripping through tissue and organs aiming straight for the source of his life.

The heart as his hand ripped out his chest with his own heart in the icy hands of Burittsu it was certain that even he saw it beating as Burittsu quickly gave a smirk squeezing it tightly causing it to explode in a sea of raging blood between his grip killing the man painfully but quick enough to send him on his way. Pulling his hands out of the corpse the body fell upon the ground as he walked back to the two girls who only sat in horror as Burittsu opened up both hands each soaked with the blood of both of the males. As they grabbed each hand they both were scared but that didn’t matter to Burittsu it was a mission complete and two lives saved this fateful day as he walked back into the forest with two willing to take them all the way back to the village and drop them off at academy for now he felt as the hero. He was finally given the chance to save someone’s life and that in turn awakened the brightest smile on his face knowing Genbu was looking down at him from above with a smile of his own. This was what it meant to be a shinobi.

“You two were brave bet the boys would have cried in a situation like this huh? Hey you guys wanna hear a story since we got time back to the village. Listen up ladies this a story about a boy named Genbu and how he showed a friend the true meaning of being a shinobi.”
