Burittsu
D-rank
Rain falls down upon the forest it's been three days since Burittsu had been out and about in the forest waiting for what was reported to the village of the usual smugglers returning he wondered if they ever grew tired. As in losing the number of men each time and having the supplies being sniffed or shipped off somewhere or even burned but it did not concern the male. The more they continued to send the more he could fill his pockets with money and in turn fill his stomach with food the usual shinobi would have been sick by now but lucky for him Burittsu was no usual shinobi. He was sitting in a dense bush for three long days without moving he ate off the earth like usual eating whatever fell from the branches above lucky him no living animals have fell near him yet.
Simply he would have had to eat them raw if needed too but he hadn’t drop to that level since his younger years he was now almost a respected shinobi in the village. Unlike the other shinobi who most likely got a congratulations and celebration for such an incredible feat that's been accomplished his only celebration was remaining alive this long especially from what he been through. It echoed throughout his ear the sound of the raindrops hitting the puddles that were formed around the ground from the rain it annoyed him forcing him to remember how it all started even when the physical scars were gone the mental scars remained.
Reminding him everyday he lived no matter who he met no one who would ever cure the damage that’s been done. Blood was needed to make things right and he would do everything and anything to make his attacker pay even if it meant being the villain for a great cause a cause that would one day be heard by all who constantly get attacked by those who are stronger. Letting out a deep breath in the cold his breath was seen for a mere second as the rain continued to slip past the leafs of the bush hitting his body and rushing down his skin coming to a stop at his chin dripping off and hitting the soil of the earth. Or rushing down his back meeting his pants as it's quickly absorbed into the fabric making it moist and wet it didn’t matter to the male his goal was to focus on the mission but his mind was elsewhere.
Giving a deep sigh he looked up into the sky trying to study it but it was a canvas painted in grey not even the slight sight of sunlight could be seen through it. Closing his eyes he allowed his mind to wander and throw in ideas new and old he would usually see these ideas in his dreams but this time was different he had time to himself remaining motionless his body was present but his mind was in a different world. What he saw was the usual the bodies of civilians, kids, and shinobi all on the ground each with their own story to tell of how they died. But it didn’t matter he was the killer he always was in the distance the fire danced back and forth as he saw this over and over waiting for the burning child to appear from the flames.
Then it appeared the burning child that was suddenly on fire ended up falling into a puddle of water as the steaming sound of the flames touching the water screamed throughout his nightmare. Burittsu saw this child and his face remained motionless in a bat of an eye the body of the child was now in front of him face first in the water it was the same everytime to him a trick of his mind as he turned his back to the burned body. Only to be greeted by the body standing in front of him the boy who was burned appeared to be Burittsu himself when he was a child as half of the boy's body was burned by the fire. The flesh from his face dripped off hitting the ground as he smiled at Burittsu and turned his back on the shinobi himself walking away into darkness. It all seemed difficult to understand until the final piece of the clue was given out by this young image of the shinobi.
“The burden is all on you if you choose to do it alone..Burittsu..”
The words bounced off his brain repeating themselves as the scene went completely black leaving him in darkness he was alone just like how he wanted with no one next to him not even the company of the bodies that laid on the floor. This was the result if he chose to go down a path where no one else would dare follow it was amusing how he actually felt the cold from the darkness how it affected him mentally not physically. He truly was alone and it felt like he would never get out it was reality and his only way out was for him to accept the fate that he chooses for himself. Standing up tall and proud in this dark abyss that he was brought to his path was straight as he never looked back hearing the laughter and cries of his past the walk felt forever as the laughter and screams continued.
This indeed was torment mentally he walked the same path for weeks without stopping nothing but his will to keep him going to see his plan come to full action. Until he couldn’t walk anymore collapsing on dark ground without moving he remained there for what felt like hours until he closed eyes quickly opening them again at the sound of thunder. Feeling the rain falling harder and harder upon his skin seemed to give him some type of hope that he could not just sit there and the let rain bathe him with the tears of the heaven. Pushing his body up with all his might he stood tall but with weak legs causing him to wobble and lose his balance as if he had to much to drink at the bar. In a fierce roar from all he had left was released into the darkness.
“Wake Uuuuppppp!!!”
His body itself remained in the same position where he left it his eyes did open but the setting of the area did change in fact as the rain seemed to stop and the clouds overhead were nowhere to be seen. The journey he went on took him on a trip for hours he thought or maybe an extra day he couldn’t tell his body was too stiff to move as every joint in his body began to crack releasing the pressure and concentration they were in.
Moving his left and right the sound of multiple bones being cracked he felt as if he was in a genjutsu for a day or two the ground was still moist. As for the leafs around him continued to drip with water it was the same day but only at night in mere seconds the smell of air changed around him as the smell of smoke filled the air coming from further up ahead. A grin was finally set upon his face as the bright lit flames danced in the shadows and the smell of cooked meat filled the air he knew the smugglers were finally set as was he.
“Three..Days..”
