Clan History:
    The history of the Yasei Clan is long and complicated.  The clan originated when a ninja of Konoha, Kasai Yasei, and a ninja of Suna, Hana Fui, met during their chunin exams.  They ended up maintaining correspondence after the exams, and after a few years they decided to leave the shinobi life so they could marry without clan ties getting in the way.  They settled down in a small village in the middle of Suna and Konoha.  
    A year or so later, they were blessed with a son, Sanshō̄o, and a year after that, another son, Fenikkusu.  Both boys inherited the affinity for Katon of their father, and the affinity for Futon of their mother.  However, they did not take these blessings the same way.  The older Sanshō̄o, named for the mythical land creature, identified much more with his father and Konoha, while the younger Fenikkusu, named for the mythical bird, identified more with his mother and Suna.  As the boys grew this difference between them grew stronger as each accused the other of betraying their heritage.  
    In the end, both boys, against the wishes of their parents, attended the ninja academies of Suna and Konoha, and both became powerful ninja.  Over the course of their training they exchanged letters, each trying to one up the other with even the most minor of accomplishments.  Eventually, the words grew so heated that the rift between them grew into an all-out feud.  Both agreed to fight each other to prove who was truly the strongest.
    However, despite their bragging, neither actually believed they could beat the other.  So, both of them, in an attempt to gain an advantage, sought out the creature for which he was named.  Sanshō̄o sought out Tochi, the great salamander, and Fenikkusu sought out Kūki, the great phoenix.  Both asked for the beast’s assistance in defeating the other.  Tochi and Kuki, who had often warred with each other in the past, understood the plight of the brothers, but they discouraged them from pursuing their goal, telling them that it would only lead to years of hardship and strife.  The brothers, overcome with hatred for each other, insisted.  So, an oath was sworn.  The brothers gained the powers of the beasts, but only as long as they were fighting each other.  
    When both brothers engaged each other, the battle lasted a whole day.  Both brothers had received the same power from the beasts: the Gādian no Honō, the Guardian’s Flames.  Eventually, after a day of fighting, neither brother had gained an advantage over the other.  They parted ways, the feud unsettled.  Neither wishing to engage the other again, for fear of defeat, they settled down in their respective villages, leaving the burden of their pact with the Guardians, and the feud that brought it about, for their children to bear.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Gādian no Honō (Guardian’s Flames)
Kekkei Genkai Description:
    Originating from the pact between the two Yasei brothers and their phoenix and salamander guardians, the Gādian no Honō, or Guardian’s Flames, is the power to channel Katon chakra through the chakra points on one’s body, causing the skin to ignite in flames.  These flames do not burn the Yasei or their clothing, but does burn opponents, making it a powerful accompaniment to taijutsu techniques.  At its highest level, the Guardian’s Flames unlocks powerful transformations.  In total, the Gādian no Honō has five ranks: Spark, Blaze, Inferno, Maelstrom, and Transcendence.  Rank is indicated by a special tattoo on the Yasei’s shoulder.  This tattoo changes shape based on rank, and glows, even through clothing, when the KKG is activated.  Each upgrade in rank requires that you pay the equivalent ryo cost of a jutsu of that rank, make a post of at least a thousand words where you communicate with your guardian (Phoenix or Salamander) to ask for additional power, and that you complete a mission of the highest possible rank that must involve combat and must be completed alone.  
    In addition to the Gādian no Honō, the Yasei’s have a strong connection to the chosen element of their branch in addition to their natural affinities.  Reducing the training WC of that trait by 10%.

D-Rank (Base): Gādian no Honō: Guardian’s Spark
-5 chakra per post
At this rank, the Yasei’s control of the flames is weak, and only their hands can be ignited.  If the Yasei is hit by a Suiton technique of their own rank or higher, the flames are extinguished.  If the Yasei connects with a physical attack where the flames hit their opponent, they deal minor first degree burns in addition to physical damage.  If an opponent touches the flames of their own accord, the flames cause minor first degree burns.

C-Rank: Gādian no Honō: Guardian’s Blaze:
-10 chakra per post
At this rank, the Yasei’s control is improving, and they can extend the ignition to any two surfaces of their body that are 15 cm by 15 cm or less.  If the Yasei is hit by a Suiton technique of their own rank or higher, the flames are extinguished.  If the Yasei connects with a physical attack where the flames hit their opponent, they deal major first degree burns in addition to physical damage.  If an opponent touches the flames of their own accord, the flames cause major first degree burns.

B-Rank: Gādian no Honō: Guardian’s Inferno:
-15 chakra per post
At this rank, the Yasei has unlocked full control of the flames, and can ignite their whole body at once.  If the Yasei is hit by a Suiton technique of their own rank or higher, the flames are extinguished.  If the Yasei connects with a physical attack where the flames hit their opponent, they deal minor second degree burns in addition to physical damage.  If an opponent touches the flames of their own accord, the flames cause minor second degree burns.

A-Rank: Gādian no Honō: Guardian’s Maelstrom:

At this rank, the Yasei has begun moving from full control towards full mastery of their flames.  When the jutsu is activated, the Yasei’s full body ignites in flames, and they also take on some features of their guardian’s appearance.  A Fenikkusu ninja grows a bird’s head made of flames that encases their own head, and wings that allow them to make short flying hops of no more than three meters in any direction at a speed of 15m/s.  The wings can also function as a giant fan for Futon jutsu.  A Sanshō̄o ninja grows a flaming reptilian head and a tail that functions as a melee weapon with a reach of 1.5 meters.  The tail is also prehensile, and can be used to grab things or ensnare an opponent of lower rank.  If the Yasei is hit by a Suiton technique of their own rank or higher, the flames are extinguished.  If the Yasei connects with a physical attack where the flames hit their opponent, they deal major second degree burns in addition to physical damage.  If an opponent touches the flames of their own accord, the flames cause major second degree burns.

S-Rank: Gādian no Honō: Guardian’s Transcendence:

At this rank, the Yasei has fully mastered the Guardian’s Flames, and can establish a direct link with their guardian.  This rank has two forms of activation.  In the first form, the Transcendence works the same way as the Maelstrom, except the flames can no longer be extinguished by Suiton jutsu, and contact with them deals third degree burns.  In the second form, which can only be used when the ninja has full chakra reserves, the Yasei transforms into a flaming representation of their guardian at least three times their normal size.  This flaming form cannot be extinguished by Suiton jutsu.  While in this form, the Yasei can use all the natural weapons of their Guardian (wings, beak, claws, tail, body mass, fangs) as if they were solid.  They also receive the size and range boost to their jutsu as if they were a B-rank summon, while retaining their own rank, though they can still only use jutsu of C-rank or lower.  However, obtaining this form comes at a heavy price.  Once activated, the second form cannot be deactivated until the ninja reaches the absolute limit of their chakra usage.  At this point it is deactivated and the ninja is put into a coma for no less than one week.  While under, the ninja struggles within their mind to contain the released power of their Guardian, and in order to survive must be completely submerged in water to tame the power enough to be controlled.  If they are not submerged within one hour, they will spontaneously combust.

Drawbacks:
Both Branches:
• Due to their strong affinity to Fire, Yasei cannot learn Suiton and take one extra rank of damage from Suiton attacks
• A Yasei’s tattoo, the source of their power, can be sealed by a sealing jutsu of one rank above or higher.  If a Yasei’s tattoo is sealed, they cannot use the Gādian no Honō or any clan jutsu until it is unsealed
• Due to their natural affinities for Futon and Katon, the word count and ryo cost for any non-Katon or non-Futon jutsu a Yasei seeks to obtain or use is increased by 25%
• Do to their aggressive nature, Yasei cannot learn Genjutsu, Medical Ninjutsu, or Kagutsu
• Due to the pact forged with the guardians, any Yasei who provides assistance to a Yasei of the opposing branch must consider their tattoo sealed for the duration of the exchange

Sanshoo (Salamander) Branch:
• Due to their resistance to their Futon heritage, Sanshō̄o Yasei have their 25% penalty applied to Futon jutsu as well
• Due to the feud between the Sanshō̄o and Fenikkusu, a Sanshō̄o who enters Suna openly, even with the permission of the Kazekage, and is not escorted by a Suna ninja, will be intercepted by Fenikkusu ninja after approximately five posts.  These ninja will provide a warning to leave, though they can be attacked at the discretion of the Sanshō̄o.  If the Sanshō̄o attacks or does not leave within another five posts, an S-Rank Fenikkusu ninja will attempt an assassination.  

Fenikkusu (Phoenix) Branch:
• Due to their resistance to their Katon heritage, Fenikkusu Yasei have their 25% penalty applied to Katon jutsu as well, with the exception of the Guardian’s Flames.  
• Due to the feud between the Sanshō̄o and Fenikkusu, a Fenikkusu who enters Konoha openly, even with the permission of the Hokage, and is not escorted by a Konoha ninja, will be intercepted by Sanshō̄o ninja after approximately five posts.  These ninja will only provide a warning to leave, though they can be attacked at the discretion of the Fenikkusu.  If the Fenikkusu attacks or does not leave within another five posts, an S-Rank Sanshō̄o ninja will attempt an assassination.

"When the jutsu is activated" - wouldn't call this a jutsu, it's your KKG ability. It likely will not count as an offensive jutsu against defensive techniques etc.
